Steven chuckles at Julie's comment. "Oh, I don't mind danger myself. I'd welcome some, really. Just not anything we've already seen before. Things get old fast. I want some fresh, new danger, ready to tear us apart if we mess up!" He grins widely.
He turns to Matt. "Sure, sounds like fun. Have some people to talk with, stop me from going mad and start talking to myself."

Julie snaps out of her rambles and smiles widely at Matt, obviously incredibly excited at the idea. However, she quickly composed herself to look not quite so desperate. "What, you guys weren't planning on it already? It's almost tradition to travel in groups, ya know?"

Val shrugs, with a wry smile. "As long as you don't insist on dragging us to Durant hives, or anything like that, I'll be fine with travelling. I already said I would, after all."

Matt grins at the other three beginning trainers "Perfect! This should be a lot more fun then going it alone!" He turned to Val and raised an eyebrow "Got it, I won't tell you when we head for the Durant hive. Or when we're gonna be taking boats" he adds with a laugh

Professor Ivy clapped her hands together. "Well, it sounds like that's settled, then! I think you four travelling together sounds like a great idea," she said happily. There was a pleasant ding from a console behind her. "And it looks like you're all registered now! Fantastic. Here you are," She said, handing each of the trainers a Pokedex in the color they had requested.
The little Klink looked back and forth between Matt and Julie, clearly confused. Professor Ivy chuckled lightly. "It looks like you two are confusing the poor thing," she said. "Well, which one of you is his trainer? That's who should decide his name," she said, looking absently at her watch, she started at the time.
"Oh my! You four better hurry," she said. "The ferry to Tangelo Island is leaving in a few hours, and it won't be back for at least three weeks," she said, standing up hurriedly. "Well? Don't just sit around! Get moving!," she said urgently, waving them all out the door.

"Oh, uh, ferry." Val says, with such enthusiasm. "Yeah. Fantastic... We wouldn't want to have to wait on these delightful beaches..."
She shows much more delight at receiving her PokéDex, at least, a bright summer orange. This meant that she was a real trainer. And it symbolized that she could prove her skill at the Gyms! Except... first, the boat. Ugh. Why did there have to be so much water around these islands?

"Thanks prof," Steven says as professor Ivy hands him his new, bright green Pokédex, which he immediately starts fiddling with, checking out what's on it and what the settings are, changing them to be more to his liking wherever he can, seemingly not paying too much attention to what the others were saying for the moment.
However, he's still listening to the conversation going on around him, even if it's only with half an ear. He jumps up when the professor warns them to hurry up to catch the ferry off the island. "Well then, we'd better start running. Wouldn't want to stay stuck here for three weeks, would we? Kinda beats the point of going on a journey if you have to stay still for that long." He moves out the door, grinning over his shoulder to Val at her comment. "Y'know they have lovely beaches on other islands as well, don't you? Better yet, those are lovely islands we haven't seen yet! Brand new sand with pristine waves, just waiting for our eyes to take them in!"

Matt held the dull gray Pokedex in his hand for a moment before pocketing it with a small smile and turning towards Julie, scratching the back of his head
"So, errr, the professor makes a really good point. Exactly which one of us is going to train our little Klink here?"
He watches as Steven takes off and shakes his head with a grin "It's gonna take some getting used to traveling with someone always on the go like that"

Julie pockets her pokedex without much thought going into it. There would be plenty of time for it later. She begins bouncing up and down impatiently as she turns to Matt. "You can train Torque, but only if you name it Torque, and I get to spend a lot of time with it. But come on, we're wasting time!" With that, she grabs both Matt and Val's arms and begins running towards the dock, trying to drag the two of them behind her, singsongily saying something underneath her breath that sounds suspiciously like "I'm free, I'm free~!"

You all begin to hurriedly make your way down the road into town, and before long you are in the forest. As you run along you all, with the exception of Matt, hear a very, very low rumbling from up ahead and realize what it is. You all step off the road, and Matt manages to leap out of the way as a surprisingly silent, bright red convertible sportscar tears around the corner at a dangerously excessive rate of speed. As it does, each of you seems to lock eyes with one of the people in the vehicle... MattAs you leap to safety, you lock eyes with a man sitting in the back row, a look of mild amusement on his face. He looks vaguely familiar...StevenAs the car speeds past, you manage to lock eyes with the driver. he has a look of focus and duty on his face, as if driving like this is hardly a challenge. JulieYou lock eyes with a woman, laughing a shrill laugh. She seems to think she's just the funniest person in the world, and something about her just gives you the chills...brr... ValYou lock eyes with the fourth and final person in the vehicle, sitting behind the driver with an utterly impassive and unamused look on his face. This breakneck pace is clearly not bothering him in the slightest. And then, just like that, the car zipped by, out of sight; the only hint that it had ever been there a faint rumbling and an echoing shrill laugh...

Val's first thought upon seeing the car is Oh, Dialga, they're going to go off the side! When it doesn't, she immediately remembers that the roads here would most certainly not be as constantly slick as back home. She immediately feels a little bit silly for forgetting that... the car design should have reminded her. You wouldn't see anything like that in Snowpoint.
As the car flashes past, she briefly sees someone who almost seems to remind her of someone. But, she dismisses that thought. Why would he be here? Ah, well. No matter. The mind likes playing its tricks, so best not to fret about it. After making certain that they were in no immediate danger of being run over, she turns to the Orange Islanders, and asks, jokingly, "So, how usual is that, for people to go that fast? On a scale from once-in-a-blue-moon to everyone-goes-crazy-the-instant-they-get-behind-the-wheel?"

As Matt jumps out of the way of the car he lands with a thump next to the rest of the group, before pushing himself up and shaking a fist as he yells after them "HOW ABOUT YOU WATCH THE ROAD NEXT TIME PUNKS!" before sighing and dusting himself off and turning to Val "I don't know, cars aren't really driven around on ships"
"I really hope they aren't taking the same boat as us, I don't know if I have the self control to stop myself from fighting them..Bul could make short work of that car too" he grumbles as they continue on

Steven steps to the side of the road as he hears a car coming. He raises an eyebrow as the car speeds by, though he's quickly distracted from the speed of the vehicle when he notices the driver. Something seemed... peculiar about him... He shrugs, though he does manage to catch the license plate of the car. CANE 5... He quickly makes a note in his Dex. Pocketing the device again, he turns to Val. "Out in the city? Rare. Outside it? Beats me, probably depends on the area... and the type of car. That thing looked sleek, I'd probably drive the same if I owned that thing... Anyway, shall we continu? We have a boat to catch, after all."

Julie whistles as she sees the car streak by. "Expensive car. A lot of gearheads I know would love to get under the hood of that one of those... Odd that they're on this island, but tourist go where tourists will, I suppose." Cars weren't really her style, but she could appreciate an inpressive machine.

With tail lights racing away, and the near miss in your rear view mirror, you all continue on toward town, making it to the pier as the sun is beginning to set and the crew are making final preparations to depart. The ferry is not the only ship in the port, though. There is also a very large, very expensive yacht tied off, the words 'Cane Industries' on the side. The stern of the ship had emblazoned Cane 3 in gold leaf, clearly the name of the vessel.
As you walk up the the ferryman, he greets you. "Hello ladies and gentlemen! This is the ferry departing for Tangelo Island. It's an overnight trip, and passage in the common rooms is free. A private cabin will be $550 a night, limited by availability. Normally I would be happy to sort that out with you, but we will be departing shortly. Will you be joining us?," he asked expectantly.

Steven whistles softly (and off-tone) as he spots the giant yacht sitting in the port. He raises an eyebrow at the name, remembering the car that had sped by earlier. Huh, guess those road devils must have some serious dough if they can afford this kind of gear...
Steven glances at the others briefly after the ferryman's question, before shrugging and nodding at the man. "Don't know 'bout the others, but I sure as hell ain't staying on this island for several weeks if I can help it. I'll bunk in the common room."

"Uh... y'know, it might not be the worst thing in the world to wait a few weeks on this gorgeous islan..." Val says, before trailing off because it didn't seem like anyone was paying her any heed.
Well, I suppose it might not be as bad as last time... Val thinks, futilely attempting to convince herself. "Uh... I'll take the common room, too, I think." Not that I'll probably be staying in it much, if last time is anything to go by... "Oh, uh, do you have anything onboard that might help with seasickness?" She isn't very hopeful, but it was worth a shot.

"Yes, of course young lady. I'll have the ship's doctor prepare something to ease your passage," he said, beckoning them aboard. "Right this way."

"Oh, uh, thank you," she says, surprised, before following - still with a bit of trepidation. And not thinking about the ship sinking, or capsizing, or anything like that. Nope. Not at all.
