Henry nods, keeping pace with the group as he writes down the sounds he's able to discern. "Let's pair off and explore this room. It'll be safer, and we'll cover more ground in a shorter period of time."

Bee shakes her head. "I dunno, maybe we should stick together. If one pair gets overwhelmed the other might not be able to find them." She squints in the darkness. "Wish we had a real lantern... we should go along the edges first, see if we can get an idea of the shape of the room. Heck, this place is a ruin, there might be torches."

Nithia blinks and tilts her head, not quite sure what to do. Splitting up did sounds the fastest... "I think splitting up is faster." She pauses for a moment in thought, then suddenly her hand shoots into the air as she bounces up and down. "Ooh, ooh, if we do partners, I call Bee!"

Falon holds up his burning sword to try and spread as much light around him as possible, but it doesn't seem to help much. At Henry's preposition to split up, he shrugs. "Don't know how useful that'll be... Only one of us is making the map after all, and fighting in the dark isn't that fun, and it becomes even less fun when you're really outnumbered. But whatever, I just wanna keep moving."

Any efforts that the team makes to see into the room yield fruitless. Even Falon's sword barely manages to light a meter or so around him. The party will have to maneuver around the room rather blindly! When shifting around the room, please declare your pace (quickly, slowly). Quickly lets you move your OL in meters, slowly lets you move OL/2 meters. Just make sure you don't trip! The party is under the effects of total blindness!

"Well, I'm gonna go this way." Falon moves quickly to the east, sticking to the walls as much as possible, trying his best to explore the room by what little light his sword provides him. Moving Quickly to the right on the map, 7 meters.

Bee sighs and turns east as well. "C'mon, let's stick together. Don't get too far ahead, Falon!"She starts moving eastward along the wall more slowly, groping along in the dark and feeling for distinguishing features along the wall. Frankly, she really is hoping for torches - the oppressive darkness is making her awfully nervous, especially given the sound of creatures somewhere in there. She strains her ears to listen for the sound of them approaching, not wanting to be caught by surprise. Moving Slowly in the same direction as Falon, 3 meters. 18 on Perception to listen for an ambush out of the darkness.

The archer nods, following the rash one as best he could. "Yeah, not my best plan. Wait for us Falon!" It seems this place would be hard to map out on their own, much too dark. If a mechanism led them here, maybe there'd be one to brighten the place up? Perception 20

Nithia stays close to Bee, gripping onto her clothes to make sure to stay very close. The darkness was scary. Winged Firthers loved darkness like this! She had a Winger Firther infestation in her study before, and it took forever to make it leave. She had to bring a Reclusive Salian into her study, but then she had to bring in another creature to scare it away, and it was a very long chain reaction. She should probably warn the rest of the group! A Firther invasion was no joke. "Hey guys, never try to scare a Winged Firther by introducing a Reclusive Salian into the area. Salians are even harder to get rid of than Firthers!" She says this with grave seriousness, as if it'a the most important piece of information in the world at the moment.

The intense darkness of the cavern prevents any of you from seeing even the ground in front of you. It appears that you'll need a stronger light source than Falon's sword. Regardless, Falon's quick pacing to the east proves to be a poor choice as, after 5 meters, Falon falls into some moving water. The water tries to drag Falon underneath the platform you began on. Thankfully there appears to be a metal grate preventing that. The water has Falon pinned to the grate, but the pressure is not terribly strong; with a bit of effort, he might be able to pull himself up. Falon needs an athletics check DC 8. Bee, moving slower than Falon, manages to hear Falon fall. Having been listening carefully, Bee can tell that it was water and that it was rather close. Nithia, who was following closely to Bee, only manages to hear Falon fall but isn't quite able to discern what has occured. Despite the near absolute darkness, as Falon falls into the water, Falon's sword manages to provide just enough light for Henry to see that there is a small platform that could possibly be jumped to near the area where Falon falls in. However, the darkness provides little other evidence of the layout of this location. Until there is an adequate light source, everyone without darkvision is currently under the effects of total blindness.

Falons starts a bit as he suddenly falls into a quickly moving river of sorts and is slammed against a grating, but he quickly recovers and easily pulls himself out of the water (Athletics:14) and back on dry land, the water on his clothes already beginning to evoporate away, quickly leaving him as dry as before. "There's water that way," he says, somewhat sheepishly.

Henry nods, pulling out the new pokeball and sending out his new Murkrow. "Perhaps it'd be a good idea to have someone who can actually see then... Morrigan, come sit on my shoulder. One tap for yes, two for no. Can you see?" The bird should have much better night vision than the other adventurers in the group, so this might help a lot!

Bee winces when she hears Falon splash into the water nearby. "And this is why you stick with the group. Are you okay, Falon?"
At least Henry's got somebody to help - now Bee's kind of regretting going for the Phantump instead, since even if they like dark woods, she's pretty sure they don't have night vision on par with a Murkrow. But she's sure Idad will prove his worth soon enough. She can be pretty confident of Nithia's location, at least, thanks to her grip on her clothes. Knowing what she's talking about is another matter, though. "What's a Winged Firther? I don't think I've ever run into one of those. Must not live up in the mountains."

Morrigan pecks once on henry's shoulder signaling that it is able to see in the dungeon. Morrigan takes a bit of initiative to circle around Henry for a moment before something catches its eye. It tugs at Henry letting Henry know that it spotted something to the southwest.

"Morrigan says there's something in the Southwest. We're gonna move that way carefully, with Falon in the middle of us, providing light. Morrigan, are there any more obstacles or Water from here to there?" He motions everyone to get close together, ignoring the talk about the firthers for now. He could always ask more about them later.

Morrigan taps twice indicating that the object to the southwest has a clear path to it.

Bee reaches out to Falon, trying to ensure he'll move with them. Hopefully Nithia's still hanging onto her as she starts to move cautiously with Henry's direction. "C'mon, everybody, let's go see what's over there..."
Frankly, it feels a bit like being back in her village herding Gogoats again.

As you reach the southwest corner of the platform, a small pink glowing circle shines dimly in the darkness. When you get close enough, the light extends from the ground forming a giant pillar of pink light. Despite whatever function it may have, it also provides just enough light to see all of the platform you are on, as well as a bit of the water surrounding you. Back in town: "That was divine punishment for getting lazy. I'll be a good girl and finish setting up the geo pole..." The pink light that glows gently on the expedition team suddenly vibrates and a similar glow begins to emit from your guild rings. Once the vibration ends, you hear a sound coming from the geomagnetic pole, "And that should do it! Now I can finally relax." An audible sigh emerges from the pole following those sounds which clearly resemble Sariah who is currently at your guild hall. All current adventurers gain:
+5 Trainer Exp: The first geomagnetic pole has been discovered.

"Oh, hey! A geomagnetic pole! I never got to see one of these in person before! I wasn't exactly keen on going into dungeons all alone with no Pokémon or anything, it's a good way to, uh, disappear mysteriously."
Bee looks surprised when the guild rings begin to glow with the same light as the pole. "Huh, I guess we're linked up to it now? Sariah, is that you?"
