As Aria lands on Merit's shoulder, the combat medic looks to her. Before he can ask, she points her wing to the south. "Excellent! Good work, Aria. We could go straight on, or..." He looks to Nette. "Maybe we can stop to say hi to the Sandile? Make a friend or two. What do you think?"

"Hmmm..." Nette hums and pats down her slim bag. She wasn't sure how the resting pokemon would react to someone disturbing their pleasant daydreaming and ideally wanted some food to bribe them with. Or something! "Maybe first find the Oasis then befriend the Sandile?"

"Sounds good to me." Merit starts making his way through the cacti towards the south pathway, while Aria lifts off and flies directly to the path.

As you pass through the cactii, you are able to mostly make your way through them. Occassionally, a sandile looks up from its rest to see you pass through. Though noting that you do not appear to be a threat, they go back to relaxing. The exit to the south of this room comes within sight pretty soon but the cactii grows thicker here. You can get through it mostly unharmed so long as you tread carefully. Three acrobatics roll to see if you can finesse your way through the cactii without any thorns in your side. You can recall your pokemon so that they don't get hurt. The DC is 8. For each one you fail, you lose a tick of hp.

"Ow-ow-OW-ow-ow-ow!" Nette squirmed as she pushed her way trough the cacti. By now she had decided, that even thought they were very pretty, she didn't like cacti. No plant back home was ever so hostile! Except maybe the Bulk berry bushes ... She glanced around her just to make sure she didn't miss any succulent berries hiding inside the thorny mess but that only served as to distract her into colliding with another bunch of needles. "OW!"Trailing just behind her Phantump followed Phasing trough the thorns. Not that he really needed to, seeing as Nette probably trampled a route more then enough for him to follow... Once they were finally trough the fields of cacti Nette sat down on a randomly selected dune with a thump and started pulling needles from, well, everywhere! With a grimace of pain she sighed. "I don't like cacti anymore."Nette can't make that Acrobatics roll - so 3 ticks of HP! Once she is clear of the pesky plants she will however regenerate the damage with Life Force!

Merit weaves through the cacti fairly easily. Once he reaches the pathway, Aria lands back on his shoulder. "The cacti just wanted to hug you, you know." Merit chuckled for a moment before looking more concerned. "Do you want me to take a look at those? Don't want those to get infected, after all, and I am trained for this."
After hearing Nette's response and reacting accordingly, Merit begins to walk down the path.

"Mmmmmmm..." Nette hummed as she pulled out the last of the needles and considered her options. Being fuzzed over was always nice but she really didn't want to sit still in the glaring sunlight for much longer. And besides these scratches weren't that bad just yet! With her vigor quickly returning she jumped back to her feet. "It's fine now! Maybe on the trip back though, if we need to go the same way ..."

Having passed the cactii forest within the desert, the two find the path to the south instantly turning east. The path east seems excessively long, but as the duo continues to approach, a mild tint of blue continues to become clearer. Now that the daylight is starting to end, you can also see some lights come on in the distance. Although the path snakes a bit on your approach, it continues east until you finally arrive at the oasis. The sign: The hostess

"Look!" Nette exclaims in excitement and bounces up and down. "The Oasis!"
She grabs a hold of one of Merit's hands, as to help him get there quicker, and dashes towards the bar itself. Once there she halts in front of the hostess. "Ooooh I would like a nice drink so very much!"

"Yeah, looks like we made it--whoah!" Merit stumbles at first, but quickly regains his footing as Nette pulls him along. Once they reached the hostess and Nette spoke, he waved to the hostess. "Hello! This is Nette, and I am Merit Sol. We belong to the Guild Odyssey." He wipes the sweat from his brow. "I'm not against a nice drink myself."

"Oh, you seem new to the Oasis! Well you showed up at just the right time! It's going to get dark soon so the night time dungeon is about to set in. It could get dangerous, but it's safe here in the oasis. This place also counts as a town, so the dungeon won't spit you out during the shift from day to night." She smiles as she turns to grab 2 drink menus and hands them to you. You see refreshments in many variations in the menu along with some pictures for a few of them. Enriched Water (75 En) Flavors: normal, lemon
Soda Pop (125 En) Flavors: Lemon, Orange, Cherry
Sparkling Lemonade (250 En) Flavors: Normal, Raspberry, Pink
MooMoo Milk (500 En) Flavors: Normal, Chocolate, Strawberry, Banana
Just Water (Free)
Try a crazy combo (Special - free) Experimenting with new flavors! Be my guinea pig for a free drink.

"Hmmmmmmmmmmm." Nette peered deeply into the drink menu. While the march of day and all it implications, such as dangerous monsters or not coming home tonight, was certainly something worth thinking about she had bigger problems at the moment. If her calculations proved to be correct, something she double checked two and even three times, it seemed as if she didn't have much En to buy drinks with. Especially not if she wanted to save one to try and bribe a Sandile!
"Aha!" Her eagle-eyes finally spotted her salvation at the bottom of the list. One could get special drinks for free! Free would leave adequate space in her budget for more free things! But also perhaps some Soda Pops for later? That sounds good! she congratulated herself.
"I think I'd like some Water for me and my pokemon to start with. And then try your nice special combo!" Nette ordered once the hostess came back. "Could I have a pair of Soda Pops for later too? The Cherry one and the other one you think Sandile might like."
Once that was taken care of she let out her pokemon so she could hug them (well, Mawile at least!) and watch the sunset. "Should we try and explore a bit at night? Or wait here and continue tomorrow?" she asked Merit.

Merit looks up from his drink menu after Nette orders her drinks and says, "I'll have a single crazy combo, a round of water for myself and my two Pokemon, and---" He looks at the menu again, agonizing over the options before sighing. He needed to save up for supplies later; maybe another time. "---and that will be it." As he finishes his sentence, he releases Matchi so he can sit and enjoy the oasis and sunset. Aria's red eyes start to stand out in the encroaching darkness as if they are glowing.
As Merit and his Pokemon wait, he responds to Nette's query. "I think they are expecting us back at the guild. But how to get back...." He looks towards the hostess. "Is there an easy exit out of the desert from here, or perhaps a Geomagnetic Pole?"

"Excellent choices," she exclaims. "Finally more test subjects <3" she mutters under her breath with a hint of excitement, just soft enough to be inaudible. "Oh yes, we do have a geomagnetic pole, but it's in the fritz right now. You can still register it though, but it won't be active for another day or so, it's right over there," she points a bit to the east where you can see a bit of pink light flickering on the other side of the oasis waters.
"If you need to leave you can just take the short cut back to the entrance, it's pretty safe. If you take the north path it will guide you northwest to a tunnel that lands you pretty close to the exit. Then there's a rope ladder that you can use to safely travel up and down that slippery sand dune. But how bout we get you those drinks first!"
She quickly serves the waters and then turns to her bar to prepare your drinks.

"Oh that is nice!" Nette notes once the rope ladder is mentioned. No need to walk trough the cacti again yey! Also, I'm sure the geo-pole-thingy is handy too! The forest spirit studies the shiny lights and quickly downs her water. "Should we head over there real quick while she makes drinks?" she suggests and pats her Mawile whom already seems to be on her way wiggling out of Nette's grasp.

"Thank you," Merit says to the hostess as she serves the water. He slowly downs his glass, sighing appreciatively as his thirst was quenched. Both of his Pokemon appreciated the water. Aria drinks her glass before settling down atop the bar sign. The cherry-like Matchi happily drinks the water then curls up, ready to sleep with the coming night.
Hearing Nette's suggestion, Merit sets his now empty glass down. "Sure. By the time we're done, she'll probably be finished."

On the other side of the oasis, a sole Therian sits next to a half flickering pillar of pink light. An exposed panel on the floor reveals technology not particularly known to either of you. He is currently thumbing through the pages of what appears to be a manual, given that there are a few pictures in it resembling the odd technology under the exposed panel. "Yeah uh, go ahead and get your guild badge near it, just don't you go touching it... I don't get paid to clean any messes."
Meanwhile, you can hear the distinct sound of a blender back at the bar. It occasionally stops, only to restart moments later. When it finally ceases, the hostess sets down two specials on the bar counter as she awaits your return. She has a notepad and a pencil, just waiting to see the results. Unfortunately for Nette, once she drinks it she'll find it to be rather distasteful. Mixing oran and sitrus berries with tomato berries did not work out too well. Merit's drink on the other hand was decent. It wasn't too great, but not bad either. Nothing really to write home about.

"Close, but not touching. Ok!" Nette nods and holds out her guild badge and waits for it to bleep. Or what it was supposed to do ... She wasn't quite sure. With her free hand however she quickly returned her Phantump to his pokeball as the curious pokemon seemed to creep closer and closer to the shiny wires and flashing light for every moment.
Then, whenever what should happen happened Nette headed back to try her drink. On the bright side the Oran+Sitrus combo helped remove even the smallest lingering annoyance from her earlier close-cacti encounter. But on the other side, it didn't taste very nice even for something free. "Hmm hmm hmm. Nice to have to recover from the evil cacti guarding the Oasis entrance!" Nette exclaimed.

Merit holds his guild badge up to the geomagnetic pole with Nette. "I would ask why it would be messy, but I've seen the results once." He shudders as he puts his badge away, saying no more on the subject. "It looks like our drinks are done."
When Merit takes a sip of his concoction, he says, "Not amazing, but it's not that bad. I think there is something missing. What would make this better...." He thinks about it for a bit, then says whatever comes to mind.

The hostess seems rather disappointed that her drinks weren't a hit. "Oh dear, it just keeps on happening. Maybe the drinks need more tomato berries..." she trails off listing various possible future combinations, a few of which sound instantly unappealing. She is now far too busy and distracted with washing the dishes that have piled up over the day that trying to get her attention will most likely prove fruitless.
From your location, a small trail leading north has a sign reading "shortcut to desert exit". The path cuts west quickly and you can see a small cave at the trail's end.
