Teurin tries to answer the questions as they are presented. He claims there were some slashing marks but not too many amongst those that were attacked. He says that a prime injury seemed to be blunt, heavy force and puncture marks. Not sharp, like stabbing a sword or a knife, but long punctures rather than too wide. Shattered rocks were indeed present but the mention of an ozone smell Teurin admits is somewhat alien to him. He continues to answer any questions you do have, and also attempts to prepare you for what is down there. He commends Vaidos for his ability to see in the dark, something very useful down there. Torches are passed out between the four of you. Additionally, he gives one of you a map of the caverns. They are positively labyrinthian but he says that the map should help here and there if they are in a particularly tricky spot. [It will add bonuses to rolls in certain situations.] He's marked out a few of the traps that are also laid down there, but believes most of them will have been disarmed, however to err on the side of caution. After you feel you are prepared, he shows you all inside. The cavern is fairly large to begin with, and it is lined with weapon and armour racks, a typical easy make for the militia of the town and for training. After a few moments you come to a set of double doors which he opens with a lever nearby. The flames from torches lit on the other side briefly blow about by the rush of air before settling, and there's a large tunnel before you. ǒƱǫDzǿǸȀȀȄǶƱǴȀǾǶȄƱȅȀƱǾǺǿǵƽƱdzDzȄǶǵƱȀǿƱDzǽǽƱȅǹǶƱǵǶȄǴȃǺȁȅǺȀǿȄƱǸǺȇǶǿƱȅȀƱȊȀȆƽƱdzȆȅƱǶȇǶǿƱȅǹDzȅƱǺȄƱȀǵǵƽƱǶȄȁǶǴǺDzǽǽȊƱǵȀȈǿƱǹǶȃǶƱǺǿƱȄȆǴǹƱDzƱǴDzȇǶƿƱǪȀȆƱdzǶǸǺǿƱȅȀƱȄȆȄȁǶǴȅƱȅǹǺȄƱǾǺǸǹȅƱǿȀȅƱdzǶƱDzƱǡȀǼǶǾȀǿƱDzȅƱDzǽǽƿØ

Eli releases Blaze, the Cyndaquil lighting his back flames with a dull whoopmh and casting flickering light over the tunnel. The half-dragon unsheathes his blade, keeping it ready, and nods to the others. "Right, let's keep a tight formation then shall we?" and proceeds into the tunnel with the Cyndaquil scampering along in front.

Cecily nods, taking up a position to one side of Eli with her spear held at the ready. She doesn't want to quibble too much about positioning - they're all capable fighters, she knows, even Vaidos. Ebulliens bounces along beside her; Cecily's decided the little Poliwag needs some more direct battle experience, and most things in a cave are unlikely to be too dangerous to an amphibian Pokémon. Of course, their quarry is liable to be a bit out of place, but they'll cross that bridge when they get to it.
"Right." The set of her mandibles suggests she's a bit tense - but who wouldn't be, descending into a cave with an unknown and dangerous enemy? It's not the first time she's been in a situation like this but that really just means she has a clearer idea of how it can go wrong.

Tark initially was given the map, but handed it to Vaidos, figuring he would make better use of it inside the caverns. Karga came out and the others remained in their runes, as Karga had the keenest sight and could see in even the darkest nights. Like Vaidos, but far, far fluffier. Karga sniffed near the labyrinth, whined, looked back at her trainer, then fluffed herself up and readied herself for the dangers ahead!
"Hm...The only pokemon that comes to mind with what we know is Zangoose, though I suspect we may be dealing with something else. Perhaps not even a pokemon. Keep on your toes." Tark informed from her back position, drawing her blade and holding it at her side just in case. Karga stayed beside her, sniffing as they went and keeping an eye out for trouble in the dark caves.

The cave is initially small. There are a few sets of doors that act as passageways which were obviously to dig out the start of a mine. Now, they've been redone and decked out with a few racks of cheap armour and weaponry. Standard stuff mostly from what you can tell at a quick glance. Teurin marked on the map the rough place where these attacks have taken place, somewhere deep inside which has a fair few tunnels connecting to it. It seems like you have some options when it comes to your route, and each option seems to have a vague scribbling of a note connected to it. For instance, next to the part you're already in there's 'Armou-y'. A couple of the initial tunnels have nothing on them, and whichever you take to get closer to your target location are relatively empty as far as any training might dictate. There are a few braziers on the cave walls, with unlit torches. Footsteps echo briefly from time to time, perhaps throwing you into a state of standing still and ensuring nothing is around, but they appear to be your own. Eventually, you come to a fork section, where there are two larger tunnels, and the map dictates that they each lead to different caverns which cannot be avoided going through in order to get to your location. They each have a scribbling, the left way marked as 'M-s-r--m Cha-len-e' and the other as 'Mi-e Ch-all--ge'. Which way do you choose? I understand that this post makes for short replies beyond choosing and getting ready for the choice, however if you'd prefer to talk it over in Skype in character, then either myself or one of you could summarise it in one post and then I'll do that section in the next post.

Vaidos stops as the group comes upon the fork, looking down and tracing a finger on his map.
"Hmm... ah! Here it is. These passages appear to lead to...," his mechanical eyes extend and retract audibly at the scribbled labels, "what appear to be two separate challenges. There is a... Mushroom Challenge and a... Mine, Mite, Mire, Mile, ...Mime Challenge? It could one of several things. Erm, do you have a preference for which path we choose? I would personally prefer the Mushroom route - I really can't be sure what the other one is at all."

Cecily drums her fingers on the spear - it comes out as a rapid clicking sort of noise. "Mushroom challenge... those sorts of Pokémon seem to like disabling effects. Poisonous spores, paralysis, sleep and suchlike. We'd need to be on guard for that."
She turns her head slightly to give Vaidos a sideways glance. "Won't be easy, but I agree with Vaidos. Better the challenge we understand, at least a little. No telling what's in the other cavern." And splitting up, of course, would almost certainly cause more problems than it could possibly solve.

Tark raised a brow at Vaidos. "I have a strong feeling that other one's a Mine Challenge, given we're in caves and mines were dug out back there." She pointed out the obvious, shaking her head. "Mushroom might be better, though. Don't think any mushrooms like ice or fire, so we can make this quick."

Eli waits, listening to the others, before nodding as Tark speaks. "I have to agree with Tark's assessment, we're better equipped to handle this "mushroom" challenge. Providing that's what it is hopefully."
