Reks understands Julia's concern. Could be something dangerous behind that locked door. It is locked for a reason, but what if. Okay, you stand ready Julia, I'll try to open it. Skout try to break the lock for me will ya? Skout claws bites at the lock.

The Houndour bites through the chain with one snap. The thing inside again collides with the doors, but without the chain to hold it shut, bursts through and makes a faceplant on the ground. It's a young woman, about 20 to 23, with red hair, wearing what at first appears to be fine, green-colored clothing, but is in reality leaves and grass skillfully adhered together, by a means you are unaware of. She slowly sits up, staring at you wide-eyed- not in wonder at having never seen another human before, but in great fear. "Y-you're not w-with those bad p-people, a-are you?" she stammers in a hesitant voice.

"Holy...!" Julia's eyes widen when an actual person tumbles out of the shed. Well, this is certainly something she can try to handle. She crouches down, trying not to startle the woman by looming over her... though Eric's right behind her, just in case there's trouble. She's hoping to avoid that, though. "Hi there. No, we're not with them." Her expression darkens a little and she shakes her head. "They attacked us, too. But we're not looking for trouble."She holds out her hand to the woman cautiously. "I'm Julia. Nice to meet you."Charm check to make a good first impression: OOTK4U884d6 4d6

The woman shrinks back from you, still a bit concerned. "T-then why did you open the doors?" she asks. "I- they said the d-doors would open w-when they returned, a-and w-when that h-happened, we would die a-at their h-hands." And speaking of hands, you notice that the skin on both of her hands has been peeled back, from her wrist to over her fingers, exposing red muscle and sinew. She doesn't seem to notice, however- either that, or she's disguising the pain really, really well. Julia This close, you notice her eyes are a brilliant yellow, shining like great golden topaz gemstones. It's both beautiful and unsettling.

"H-h-hi," Min stammers. She looks at Julia, who thankfully took the lead here. She can do this better than me. But what is it with the leaves? Min gets closer to Julia, still a bit nervous. She then whispers to Julia: "Can you ask them what it is with their clothes. And maybe they have some stuff we can use. Or a berry or apricorn they can part with." She takes a few paces back, to behind Julia, as if she is hiding behind her, while still looking at the woman.

Somehow, the woman overhears Min. "M-my clothes?" she stammers. "I... there's a place, I can tell you about it. But please, you have to help. M-my... brother.... he's still in there. H-he needs help..." Her eyes grow dull, and she begins to sway back and forth. She's obviously been through a lot and likely needs serious medical attention.

"Sure, we'll get him. Don't worry, it's gonna be okay." Julia glances over her shoulder. "Cloak! Get over here! I think she's sick!"
Something occurs to her and she looks back at the woman. "You're gonna be fine. Just, uh, don't let Cloak worry you. He's pessimistic but he's a great doctor." She straightens up and looks over at Reks. "Come in with me? If her brother's in trouble in there I don't know if I can get him out on my own."

The woman looks at Cloak, a brief vision of worry passing over her face at the sight of him. Then her eyes glaze over and she falls face-first onto the grass, unconscious. Meanwhile, beyond the door, you hear the sound of something moving around. Either it's her brother, or something else is lurking in there...

Before Julia can finish her requisition of Reks, he looks at her and nods. We will get your brother out of there, as he starts heading in he turns to the woman. Whats his name? That way hes not scared when we find him.

The woman looks up, barely able to keep awake. "He's... Lapis. I'm... Lazuli..." her eyes flicker shut, and her head thuds on the ground.

Julia winces at the way Lazuli's head hits the ground. "Come on, Reks, let's go. Min, try to keep Cloak from freaking her out too much if he mutters about her chances?" After Cloak's comments right after the attack, she doesn't exactly trust him to have the best bedside manner. She gestures for Eric to follow as she steps into the darkness, squinting to see if she can find the source of the noise. She's only a couple of steps in and it's already giving her the creeps - the sooner they can find this Lapis guy and get him out, the better. What lurks in the darkness? Perception: GV6p1FXV3d6 3d6

Peering in, you all can see four floating red pinpoints of light staring back at you. The way they're positioned and moving suggests that there are at least two floating creatures- whether they're Pokemon or not is unknown. Beyond that, it's too dark to see; the evening twilight and long shadows make it nearly impossible to tell what else lurks within. A hideous moaning sound arises from within. Julia You can't see much, but you can see the points of light are set into the eye sockets of two skulls- one dot per socket.

Reks looks into the dark abyss beyond the door, I can't see anything. Wait I know what to do! Excitedly and fidgeting Reks grabs the flashlight he found among the carnage of the caravan. I hope this thing still works. He turns clicks the button a couple times, the old flashlight button sticking the first few tries. Finally on what seems like the 10 or so click, the flashlight turns on. Here we go, this should help a bit down here. Reks points the light directly at the red pinpoints. I wonder what that is.

The light illuminates two floating black Pokemon with a skull for a face. They hiss and retreat slightly as the light touches their floating, amorphous forms.

Julia almost reaches up to stop Reks from flashing the light at the points of light - though she supposes she shouldn't have bothered, since the owners can probably see them anyway. "Reks, those are -" And then the light washes over the two skull-faced Pokémon, and she winces and recoils slightly. "... Eyes. Eric, here!"
She gestures to her Chespin to stay between her and the ghostly Pokémon as she starts to edge off in one direction. "Maybe they won't attack us?" she hazards hopefully, her voice dropping to a whisper. "We need to get around them, try and find this Lapis guy."

Min looks around to see what Cloak is doing, before calling him. "Cloak, we need your help here. Please patch her up, and don't say anything to her." Min just looks at the woman again and sighs. Can this day get any worse?

"My help is needed, it seems, yes..." - this said, Cloak approached this... "Lazuli" "You got interesting eyes... not like you can hear me right now!"He covered her eyes with one hand while opening them with other, then guided her head toward light, but not straight at sun, and removed hand, to check how they react to sun. Then he started to examine rest of her body, to find what's wrong and what can be done... Sorry for long time without post. 0J4j8kdB4d6Medicine[/roll] 4d6

It seems that someone is trying to prove Min right; one of the skull-faced Pokemon raises its wavering arms, its eyes glowing red, and a frightening apparition appears behind Julia, wrapping her in a big bear hug. Julia feels the life ebb out of her from this attack. Cloak The most obvious and pressing injury is her hand; the skin and nails have been peeled off in a way suggesting that she pulled it out of a tight area, and the muscles and tendons are exposed. Beyond that, she appears malnourished, like she hasn't been fed in a couple of days, and her skin has a sickly pallor to it. Julia Julia was hit by a Night Shade attack, and takes 20 damage. Environment Boxes: The provide cover to small-sized creatures. You can enter a space containing a box by spending 2 meters of movement instead of one.
Illumination: Everything beyond the stairs is considered Dim Light. Everything within a Cone 4 of Reks and his flashlight (he decides which direction it points) is brightly lit. Initiative Reks: 15 Julia: 12 Eric: 5 Duskull: 5

Reks runs up next to Julia as she seems to get hit by an eerie attack. Are you okay Julia?! Skout get in here and help us out. As Reks calls out Skout sprints down the stairs to get into the fight. Come attack me you ugly ghouls! Reks yells out, trying to get them to shift attention to him off of the others. Beating his chest a couple times to pump himself up.Skout uses the Sprint action to move 7 meters next to Eric. Reks uses Bulk up to increase attack and def by +1 cs, moves to d-c (flashlight pointing straight ahead) Intimidate check (incase needed) to get them to attack me fujyJuZN1d6

Julia's left shivering and even paler than usual by the attack - she may not be visibly injured, but she definitely looks shaken. "The heck was that? It felt... cold."She shakes her head and retreats back towards the wall, trying to make herself a less prominent target for the Duskull. A few deep breaths and she's recovered her composure. "They want to play rough, huh? Let's get ready for 'em, Eric! Just like we practiced, show 'em your armor! Keep an eye on that one on the right!"Eric gives a firm, affirmative squeak and rolls up into a ball, leaving his hard, green shell outward. Underneath the "helmet" that covers his head, he follows the glowing eye of the southern Duskull, tracking its motion carefully as he rolls over to the side to stay between his target and Julia. Julia's Shift: from E-C to F-C Julia's Swift: Use Duelist. The Duskull currently at E-H is now Tagged. Julia's Standard: Bind 2 AP to use Brace for Impact on Eric.
Eric's Standard: Use Defense Curl. Eric is now Curled Up! (Immune to Critical Hits, 10 DR. -4 Accuracy on any move that isn't Rollout, +10 damage on Rollout. Because Rollout is in Eric's move list, he is not Slowed.) Eric gains +5 DR from Brace for Impact until the end of his next turn. (Total DR: 15) Eric's Shift: from D-D to E-E.
End of round (after Duskull act): Eric gains +1 Momentum.
