The Old Gym Route
The New Gym Route
Map with Key
A – Shirogane Docks
This bustling port town has shrunk a little since the opening of Tabi Port, but nonetheless commands a sizeable amount of industrial trade of the region. Guided tours of Hagane Industries' main factory are available for a small fee, including the Metalworks; Shirogane's Gym, led by Fondry, who puts on exhibition matches regularly.
B – Koen Town
Nestling on the edge of Yami Forest, this peaceful town takes a particular pride in their expansive flower gardens. Pride of place amongst the flowers is the Treehouse, with Verdance waiting to take on any challengers that can make it to the top of the enormous tree.
C – Chusu City
If Shirogane Docks are the industrial centre of Honi, Chusu City is the commercial centre. The skyline is dominated by the Hagane Department Store, where goods and equipment from the mundane to the esoteric can be purchased, and the combined Gym and Contest Hall.
D – Kudo Village
The last stop on any Trainer's route before venturing into the caverns beneath the mountains (or, in the case of some brave Trainers, over the mountains themselves), the twisting caves play host to an entirely-underground Contest Hall.
E – Take Mountain
Sparkling at the top of this towering mountain is the Gym led by former League Champion Jay.
F – Detekuru Town
A town that has a long-running fighting ring, with major matches taking place weekly in the Regus Dojo, currently under the authority of incumbent Gym Leader Tomen Regus.
G – Port Hasha
This small town is the last stop on any potential Champion's road before Victory Island itself. Outside of that purpose, it also has a Contest Hall frequented by elite trainers waiting for passage to Victory Island.
H – Victory Island
From the sandy bay to the grand stadium at the top of the mountain, Victory Island is an artificial island designed to test every facet of a potential Champion's strength, and that of their Pokemon, before challenging the incument Honi Champion. Battles in the Stadium are rare enough that spectators flock from Takoku Archipelago to get there.
I – Katei Town
Professor Willow's Laboratory, along with its offices and the lecture theatre, are the main attraction of Katei Town, which serves as a gateway into Yami Forest and from there, Honi proper.
J – Tabi Port
Recently-constructed, Tabi Port has a large hotel for parents and concerned relatives of beginning Trainers to stay in for up to a week after their wards' journey begins, along with a store that gives discount prices to beginning Trainers.
K – Haka Village
Linking Port Hasha to Chusu City, Haka Village sees little travel, though Gym leader Shado waits in her forest maze ready to fight any challengers...those that can find her, at least.
L – Sawa Town
The Contest Hall of this small wetlands town rewards more subtle displays as opposed to the flashier moves demonstrated elsewhere.
M – Ippin Town
Precariously supported on the edge of the mountains, Ippin draws treasureseekers and occultists from all walks of life, none keener than the Ippin Gym Leader, Rathe.
N – Junsa Bay
A five-star resturaunt and hot springs are the main attraction of this fiery city, along with Echille's Gym, and the entrance to Honi's Safari Zone.
O – Yosei Hills
An open market is scattered around these rolling hills, with traders opening and closing their stalls at all hours of the day. In the centre of the plains is an open-air Contest Hall.
P – Ryu Bay
A bi-weekly fishing contest, sponsored by Hagane Industries, often draws a crowd to this peaceful part of Ryu Lake. Out on the lake, a watery Contest Hall guarantees a spectacle even when the fishing is slow.
Q – Yami Forest
A twisting path winds through this forest to connect Koen and Katei Towns. There are rumours that something lurks in these woods...
R – Tsune Mines
These mines are still being excavated and prospected by Hagame Industries, but the higher sections of the mine are open for budding geologists to take a tour and learn about the minerals in the area.
S – Kodai Crossing
A modern steel bridge that spans the gap from Route 19 over Ryu Lake to meet Haka Village; Contests are held on the central reservation and, for the daring, amongst the supports of the bridge.
T – Takoku Archipelago
Anyone wanting to catch a glimpse of a Champion's battle waits here for the airships that carry spectators up to the Stadium on Victory Island. Numerous shops catering for tourists are set up amongst the miniature islands, and the hotel at the centre has a Contest Hall on its roof; the level of talent of participating Trainers can vary wildly.
U – Safari Zone
The northern half of Junsa Island is cordoned off both to make a Safari Zone and to protect civilians from the volcano at the north of the island. Concealed somewhere in the Safari Zone is the Headquarters of the Honi branch of the Pokemon Rangers.
