As team 1 enters the Solemn Forest, the natural rustle of leaves and wildlife fills the air. As you travel south, you find that while the entrance is rather narrow at first, with the various trees creating a natural path, it soon widens and begins to curve slightly. It leads to a rather large, open enclosure that is mostly covered in grass. You may choose to head directly to the enclosure, or focus on the initial path. Essentially, the map you'll be making should have you entering from the north, with a path that curves (either direction) before coming to an open enclosure (circular... square... oval... trapezoid... who cares, have fun with it )

Henry begins sketching the area, not the best map, but assuredly a usable one. He grinned, nodding to his allies. "I see a clearing up ahead. Shall we go there first and explore a bit? Maybe we'll find something interesting!" Probably not treasure, but maybe pokemon? He could hope so!

Merit nodded. "Let's go, but approach carefully," he cautioned. "The last thing we want is to be ambushed."
As the group approaches the enclosed space, Merit keeps an eye out for any strange movements.

As they enter the forest, Nithia looks around, keeping her eyes peeled. Fairies lived in forests, if only she could find a mushroom ring. Maybe she'd get lucky and find one! She looks forwards towards the clearing and thinks she spots a few mushrooms, so she begins absentmindedly walking in that direction, not listening to anyone else.

Falon looks around excitedly, happy to be finally out there, while Kaelan lurks under his hair, keeping an eye out. When Henry mentions something about a clearing, he dashes forward, smoothly passing by Nithia and ignoring Merit's advice. There was adventure to be had! Falon Perception: 6 Kaelan Perception: 9

The enclosed space before the group appears mostly empty. However, most of you were able to notice footprints that indicate that pokemon were nearby recently. There are no other traveling paths leading out of the enclosure, so they are likely hiding among the trees. A small sparkle in the corner of this area can be easily seen. You may either investigate the sparkle, do something related to the clues about the pokemon, or continue on the other path. That's the last of your "Here's what you can do~" From now on, you'll have to decide what you can and can't do~ As usual you have complete freedom in this. (Not that its difficult at all if you heed the advice I've given you in the skype chat )

Falon hops up and down excitedly for a few moments, taking in the area, before taking a quick look at the tracks to try and see if he knows what made them. Once he has done so (and if he determined the tracks to be not too dangerous) he goes to check out the sparkle, Kaelan peering over his shoulder, his blade out just in case. Henry continued into the clearing, curious about the sparkle and the tracks. He had given his surroundings a cursory glance while creating the map, but now focused his attention on the two things in front of him. He let Sir Glubbington out of his ball, letting the creature materialize atop his hat once more. "What left these, I wonder...."General perception against surroundings: 18 Perception on the sparkly from Henry: 10 Perception on the sparkly from Glubs: 10 Pokemon Education on the tracks: 12

For the first time since entering the forest, Merit allowed himself to relax. Releasing Matchi, the medic and Pokemon begin to approach the sparkle in the corner of the enclosure. He begins to grin, and excitement slowly building up inside him; an adventure is just waiting to happen! Merit's Perception against sparkle: 5 Matchi's Perception against sparkle: 6

Nithia immediately crouches down low to the ground and begins investigating for signs of supernatural, fairy or otherwise. There had to be something magical inside a dungeon, right? All she had to do was find it... Meanwhile, Tiik hovered over her shoulder, doing spins in the air. As Falon approaches the sparkle, he sees some pieces of wood on the ground. You may add 3 pieces of Sturdy Lumber to your inventory. As you pick them up the strange sparkle disappears and you find a piece of Ariados Thread. Ariados Thread allows you to escape the dungeon (think escape rope) and works for everyone in a burst 2. Also, you needn't use perception on sparkles. In the mean time, Nithia's attempt at detecting the occult yields no discernible results, however she receives a chill up her spine. Henry and Falon's attempt at decoding the footprints is successful and they learn that the footprints belong to a mix of Spinarak, Yanma, Sentret, and Ralts. However, Henry can also see that the erratic placement of the footprints means that these pokemon were all running in the same direction (towards the exit).

Henry stood from beside the tracks, a frown on his face. "Four different types of pokemon, all running towards where we came in... I have a bad feeling about this." He unslung his bow from his back, standing at the ready. "If we're done here, we should probably go down the other path before whatever scared all those pokemon decides to see what WE are."

Falon spots several planks of wood in the sparkle, and picks them up, figuring this was the type of materials Sariah was asking for. As he stashes them away in his bag, he finds a thin strand of silk, and recognizes it as Ariados Thread, which he knows to be useful! He picks that up too, and stands back up. He listens to what Henry has to say - Huh, I suppose those tracks were all leading in the same direction...- and sighs, a bit put out. "Fine, we'll go the other way..."
Falon charges ahead once more, easily staying a few steps in front of the rest, blade now out and ready for action. He and Kaelan keep an eye out for any monsters that might be lurking between the trees. Falon Perception: 9 Kaelan Perception: 14

Nithia follows after the other members of the group, humming outwardly but plotting inwardly. She had felt a presence again, it must have been the ghost! She needed to make a stronger cleanse tag without it noticing, preferably as soon as possible. She didn't like traveling with ghosts. Well, not ones that were possessing people. She just had to find a convenient time...

Merit nodded as Henry explained what he noticed about the tracks. "Good idea, Henry." As they left the enclosed space, Merit mentioned to Falcon, "Your bag is getting pretty full, Falcon. If you want, you can spread the load among the rest of us."

The team selects the path away from the tracks, a path that begins wide, but steadily grows narrower and more overgrown the further team goes. Outside of the ruffling of leaves, the forest is unnaturally calm and silent, with little to accompany the adventurers except whatever company they may provide each other.
That unwelcome peace is suddenly interrupted by the sound of running water; a river can be seen through the clearing ahead. Its span is rather wide, but although the water is quite deep, its flow is not very violent. Along the riverbank, the path diverges to the left and right, with stone doors standing at each end.
On the other side of the river bank, you can see a clearing of trees all knocked down and ripped from their roots, a sure sign of a struggle between giant beasts. A quick survey shows that the opposite side of the river may connect to the left door, as the path leading there comes from the same direction.

Falon is somewhat surprised by the peace of the forest, but still charges forward, sword in hand. He stops at the bank of the river, looks to his left and right to the doors and peers across the river, trying to see what's there and if he could make the jump. Once the others catch up to him, he spins to face them. "Well, what way, left or right?"

Henry thinks for a few moments, observing the remains of the forest on the opposite bank. Catching the pathway with his eye brought him to the left door. Whatever did that was NOT something he wanted them to encounter quite yet. So for the time being... He turned his attention to the door on the right.
"I say right. Whatever did that is not something we can fight just yet. So let's explore this way. We can get some experience, maybe find some pokemon, and look at the other side on our way back. That way, if we have to sprint out of the woods from whatever knocked those trees out of the ground, we won't miss anything."

"Sounds like a plan!" Falon dashes off to the door on the right, not waiting for anyone to object. He opens the door and looks through to see what's on the other side.

Merit said nothing, only nodding as Henry spoke. When Falon dashed off, Merit followed some feet away.
