Heracross and Umbreon get pummeled, but remain standing. Heracross produces some sort of hammer and swings it at Los, while Umbreon attacks them with its tail blade.

Halas Athletics g3ZqiGKm2d6When the attack comes for Los, Halas knows he's too young to stay in this fight long. The Froakie jumps in the way of the hammer and takes the full brunt of the attack so that Los may continue to fight on. Los is pushed out of the way as Halas goes flying, and instantly ko'd. Another ball on Lia's belt shakes, revealing the Staryu Muszla into the battle. Both switch focus to the Heracross. Muszla blasts it, while Los waits for the blast to hit then comes in for an assured strike. Muszla uses Water gun vs Heracross AC 2 Water Special 1d20+1 2d6+20

Heracross flexes its muscles as it sends the Froakie flying. It and Umbreon focus on Los. Heracross slashes with its horn while Umbreon sends a small, ghostly light spinning around Los's head to confuse it.

After about an hour, Brianna wakes up and carries Lia to the Pokemon Center for healing. Per League regulations, Lia is forced to hand over 10% of her money to Brianna as a victory prize (or an item of equal value).
Lia gains 1 Trainer xp and 38 Poke XP.

"This fight will be one on one. Your Pokemon vs mine. If you win, I'll grant you permission to challenge the other Gym Trainers. If, by some stroke of luck, you manage to defeat all of them in succession (there are 3), then you can challenge the Leader as well. Even if you do get your challenge, I recommend that you go earn at least one more badge before challenging the Leader. She doesn't pull punches. If you manage to win your way to her, then she'll assume you're tough enough to handle anything she can throw at you, and then some.
I'll use this Pokemon: Hariyama."
Unnamed Gym Trainer uses Focused Orders and commands Hariyama to use Fake Out on Lia's Pokemon.

Fresh from her victory over the wild Huntail, Lia confidently approaches a random fisherman and challenges him. John the fisherman declares that his "freshly caught Pokemon" will destroy Lia's team in a 6 on 6 match-up!
John the Fisherman sends out Karpkarp! He commands it to Splash Tackle!

Lia questions how a bunch of freshly caught pokemon that have been untrained can really do anything until he sends out a Magikarp. "I... heh. Funny thing about timing sometimes, eh? Czolg, lets roll then."Her new Magikarp emerges, ready to fight for Karp superiority! Czolg - 21 "You see Czolg here I've taught some tricks. Including how to tap into it's evolution without actually turning into a Gyarados." Lia turns to her Magikarp. "Czolg, Splash... And then DRAGON RAGE."Her karp splashes like the opposite one, before landing straight up, and channeling his Dragonic roots! Not much of a point for Brutal Training right now haha.
