Missy: "Sure do! I may not be able to go around by myself and challenge Gyms, but I can still own Pokemon!"
She produces a Poke Ball and presses the button to open it up, calling the Pokemon 'Caroline'. It turns out to be an adorable little Shinx. She picks it up and hugs it, then lets it run around on its own. She explains that she asked for a Shinx because her idol, Leader Chengse of Vermillion, has a Luxray.

The Challenger spots Drew and barks out a laugh.
"Oh wow... Drew?! You're still hanging out in this place? Didn't know you liked pool parties so much. Or are you just here to ogle the cute girls who hang around in bikinis all day?"
Drew fumes.
"Did you come here to battle, Brandon, or just to trash talk me the whole time? Let's get this over with."
Brandon: "You're right. I can trash talk you after I stomp you and your little girlfriend."
Drew, through clenched teeth: "Not. My girlfriend."

Brandon's Electrode naturally takes the lead. He orders it to take down Jellicent fast with Electro Ball. He commands Nidoking to use Sludge Wave to hit both Pokemon, predicting that Jellicent can take the hit from Electrode. With Commander's Voice, Brandon uses Focused and Brutal Orders.

Nidoking focuses its energy (+2 Crit Range), then causes vents to open briefly in the pool, sending molten shards of rock and tile into Jellicent.

In a final burst of energy, Electrode zaps Jellicent once more, causing it to faint. The burn takes its toll, and Electrode goes down immediately after.
