Wartortle gets tag teamed once again and taken down hard. Alei recalls it, quickly sending out a new Pokemon in its place.
Quick Switch for 2 AP to switch as a free action. Aleisandra uses Fishbowl Technique as a Swift Action (Commander's Voice). A large, blue Pokemon appears in the water next to Lia and Los. Before her Lapras can actually begin its song, she zips forward at blinding speeds and rushes through both foes, striking them with some sort of sharp object attached to her wrist.
"Lapras. Use Sing."
Aqua Jet AC 2 vs M98DFvJR1d20 Priority. Hydro Jet (for 1 AP) to gain Pass.
Damage: 1d8+17
Hydro Jet; Trigger: You use a damaging, single target Water-Type Move.

Alei swims over to the unconscious Lia and brings her to the edge of the pool so she doesn't drown. She then instructs Lapras to use Mist. A chilly mist seeps into the water, surrounding the Lapras and her trainer.
After this, Alei instructs Lapras to use Confuse Ray on the Carvanha, as she conjures a globe of water and sends it hurtling towards the sleeping fish.

Los wakes up on hit.
Seeing that her own attack already confused the Carvanha, she changes Lapras' orders to hit it with an Ice Shard instead.

Lia continues to snooze in Alei's arms. But the vortex seems to fade(?) Los; now awake, confused, and angry; rushes and chomps at the big water-type! But in the midst of her little fury, she manages to shake off the confusion! Lia's Vortex save 3:

After purchasing a knife, healing and training his pokemon and storing his axe, Floyd walks into the gym, nodding at the receptionist and sneaking past the swimmers to the pool, arriving in time to watch Lia wake up.
"Good luck Lia." He calls out, content to sit back and watch.

Lia gives Floyd a thumbs up, before staring intensely at Aleisandra. A moment passes as she stares, which Lia breaks by sticking her tongue out at the Leader and swimming away! "You're next!"She swims to the Lapras and gives the same sort of devastating punches she finished off the Wartortle with! Los capitalizes on Lia's attack by striking right where she did for more damage! Lia uses Acrobatics (No held item, db 11)

With some insane strength, Los and Lia finish off Alei's Lapras. She looks pissed now. She goes to wear Lia down with another Whirlpool, then charges at both of them, coral blade at the ready.

The whirlpool doesn't get summoned, but the 2nd attack manages to take Los out. "Good job you tough little bugger."Lia recalls Los, but instead of sending out another pokemon, she surges with renewed energy from somewhere deep within her. She swims right at her again, flipping up in the air one more time and landing right on her head. She then flips, and throws wild fists once more. Lia uses Adrenaline Rush!

Leader Aleisandra's head snaps back and she blacks out from the sudden shock on top of her previous injuries. One of her remaining poke balls on the sidelines bursts open, and a Starmie carefully carries her back to the side of the pool, pushing her up onto land. It then waits expectantly for Lia to come out of the water as well.

Some time later, when the Leader has recovered.
"Well, that was unexpected. Normally my fights are a lot less one-sided when the opponent isn't using an electric or grass Pokemon. Still, you earned your Maelstrom Badge. Take it, and this TM as well."
Lia earns 45 Poke XP and a Milestone. She also earns TM 13 - Ice Beam, alongside of her 3,125 PYen prize money.

Lia goes to offer her hand to the leader.
"Well I mean as soon as I heard fighting in a pool I was all about using Los in the pool! And isn't that a good sign that water types are pretty awesome? Should be a good thing!"
Lia smiles.
"Oh uh before I freeze out here and start to look indecent, can I have a towel?"

She smiles and offers you a towel. She next mentions that she heard you applied to become one of her Gym Trainers. She hasn't had a chance to review the application yet, but after that battle she can definitely tell that you're qualified.

A bracelet of sorts around the Blastoise's wrist begins to glow in tandem with Alei's Mega Barrette. There is a bright flash as it is engulfed in a grayish-brown sphere of sorts. Moments later, it emerges, with a rainbow-colored symbol briefly alight above its head. In place of the normal Blastoise that most everyone is familiar with, the cannons from its back have moved down to its arms and it now has a new, larger cannon on its back.
Alei smiles broadly at her beloved Pokemon at the peak of its power.
"Iron Defense."
Mega Blastoise hunkers down, its shell armor shining briefly.
