"Woooooah, he eats data bracers?" She asked. "What about things like coats?" Soleil asked debating if 'my pokemon ate my uniform' would work as am excuse.

Leslie rotates in her position, still spread out on the table, to look at her Espurr. It moved with her, and brought a blanket of hair along with it as it settled on her chest. "Don't eat people's hair, we'll get in trouble, maybe. And that's be bothersome." She looked back at the data bracer, crooking her neck upward as her back was now what was in contact with the surface.
The cat continued gnawing on the hair blanket though. The apathetic girl gave it no mind, at least not outwardly. It had broken its stare with Thoron though, settling for looking at the databracer as well. Nomrmrmrmrmrmrmmmmmr...

"My chosen appellation is- Wait, what?" The voice sounds confused at Leslie's naming. "No, no! My name isn't 'Peter'. My appellation is 'Omega'. It's a word that means 'last'. I chose it because that's my goal in life. To last. Something not all of my predecessors achieved."
"For the last time," Cain interjects, "That isn't a proper name. You won't see a human going around with the name 'Omega'."
"That's your opinion..." the Porygon says, but quietly, before louder at the specs question. "Optical input? I can see you just fine with my eyes, thank you very much. Why would I need the databracer for that? It would mean I'd be hard pressed to do this." The pixelated creature goes whizzing around in the air a little, circling around Leslie, but suddenly stops about a meter and a half away from the bracer, as if he hit a wall. "Ow. I hate that limitation," he complains, hovering back over the bracer.
"What would I rather be doing?" He turns to look at Silas. "I don't understand the question. This is what I was designed for. There isn't anything else I could be doing."
"Well, I'd hope he doesn't eat the bracer. But, if he does, rest assured that it would be the last thing he'd ever do..." The artificial voice is sounding very distinctly unhappy at the thought. "And... I suppose that yes, he might eat a coat."
"Do try and avoid that, Technician Jensen," Cain says. "I wouldn't want to have to discipline you for that. Losing control of your Pokémon reflects poorly on your abilities as a Technician."

At Cain's comment, Soleil snaps her fingers in a 'darn' manner. "Well so much for that idea." She says realizing she would need a better way to accidentally lose the coat.
"Well that's all my questions. This cutie and I are ready. Rawr."

Silas furrows his brow upon hearing Omega's reply. There's something wrong with that logic, but he can't put his finger on what. His new companions really aren't helping matters, and no problem child can be dealt with in a day. They may as well get on with it.
Silas faces Cain, expression and voice back to business. "Ready to continue, sir."

Choosing to drop the subject of Peter (or Omega's) name... at least for now, Thoron waits to hear about their first mission.

"You're beautiful, Pe~eeeter." Leslie audibly sighs. Laying across the table was starting to become comfortable, and now everyone wants to get down to business when THERE'S A LITTLE FLOATY AI BUDDY THING JUST WHIZZING AROUND? "Yeeeaaa, what'do you want us to doooo?" She has no right to sound peeved, but she's doing it anyway. Just because she's a Technician now doesn't mean it's straight to work. What about a month to get used to her partners and fiddle with the AI? Or several months....

"Well, this mission of yours is rather... unorthodox," Cain says, once you all indicate readiness, "But there's a reason we're giving it to you. You see, there have been multiple reports of people proving extraordinarily lucky at gambling. Now, normally it wouldn't be something that we'd be interested in. But then, purely by chance, traces of a specific drug showed up from a place where a lot of these reports were coming from."
"Further investigation and analysis has determined it to gift limited precognitive abilities, at the expense of addiction and eventual destruction of the body after repeated use. And... it seems to be somehow formed from Pokémon. So we need you to determine where this - what we've dubbed 'prescient powder' - is coming from. Shutting it down if you can."
"Now, why you in particular? You aren't recognizable as Technicians yet. We don't want to take the chance that whoever is supplying these drugs knows at least the local Technicians. Possibly more. So you'll go in undercover. Plainclothes. No obvious Pokémon, nor Technician-specific gear. Whoever has the databracer, make sure to wear long sleeves and keep it concealed. We don't want to make anyone suspicious."
"Just make sure you don't forget you're wearing it and destroy it. I wouldn't be happy."
"All geographic and logistical data will be available through your P*DA, so don't worry about locations or any of that - you'll have all that available to you - but I imagine that with this being your first mission, and an unorthodox one at that, you'll have inquiries before you go get equipment. So, ask away."

Thoron was tempted to ask just how, pray tell, the unluckiest among them was supposed to forget it was wearing Peter's databracer... but better to ask about things that actually mattered.
On that note... everything was pretty straightforward. Some unlawful citizens were going above their station and illegally distributing a drug, not caring about it's impact to Arcadia and it's people. But if they were skilled enough to hide the bulk of their activity from the Technicians for so long, it could mean that their group, at the very least, was worthy of a little finesse. And so they had come up with this exciting plan...
About the only thing he wasn't sure about was the other team. "What will the other team be doing? Are they on a mission similar to ours?"

Silas listens to the mission description with interest. Some variation of "get drugs off the street" was something he expected to encounter as a Technician. The precise effects of this drug, however, are rather intriguing. Something that affects the mind and grants supernatural perception abilities sounds suspiciously similar to something he's made. With any luck, Silas will be able to keep a sample of the drug for research. If the substance is produced by Pokemon somehow, it might also contain some sort of Psychic traces that will make it easier to identify. Silas will have to come up with some way to justify identifying the substance in that case, but he'll worry about that later.
All of the questions that he as are either about the logistics of the mission or what he's allowed to do with recovered drug samples. All of these can be answered by Omega easily enough, so Silas remains silent and allows his teammates to ask their questions.

"Sooooo...assuming normal capture for pokemon like taught in training. What about the dealers and human targets? What are our rules of engagement?" Soleil asked with a casual smile despite the fact she was basically asking rules for shooting people.

"Uhhhh, what's our expense budget like?" She asks, while making grabby hands at the databracer just out of her reach. "I mean, it'll likely be awkward if we're hanging around probable spots and not spending mooooney like idiots. Just cause they do dumb shit doesn't mean criminals are actually like, dumb. They'd notice." Grabby hands grabby hands. Her Espurr mimics her and flails its little arm nubs in that direction too.

"Yes, the other team will be doing something similar, though in a different district."
"Well, they've got to deal with Alaina, whereas you guys get me. So you're better off already."
"Rules of engagement? Don't kill them, unless they try to do the same to you first. And even then, try to go for incapacitation, rather than death. We want information, and dead men tell no tales."
"Expense budget? We've deemed that 5000 credits worth of supplies each should be more than enough. In addition, you'll receive the same amount as... 'bait money'. Any budget not spent on equipment can be added to your 'bait' allowance. Also, you'll need to decide amongst yourselves who'll bear the responsibility of the databracer, Technician Kincaid. Don't think I can't see you reaching for it."

"Alright," Cain says, after a few moments filled with the sound of no questions being asked. "I'll leave you in the, uh, capable, er, voxels of your Porygon. Once you're ready, you know where the storeroom is to requisition equipment, and get plainclothes."
The Porygon zips around. "Excellent. Now, the location that we are going for is the district surrounding Education Center Three-Four, more commonly known as the "Butterfly District". People here are known for being a little more extravagant than they can really afford to be, trying to be more like the Over, all in the name of 'happiness'. It doesn't really work. All it ends up being is they have clothes designed to look more like the Over fashion, and then they end up being the same people in different clothes, pursuing happiness that looks similar to any other district. Namingly gambling, movies, drinking, and other entertainment, all in a fancy, slightly-more-expensive dressing."
"The specific establishment we're investigating is the supposedly-famed-citywide-but-really-only-locally Casino Chrysalis. That's where the powder was found. And most of the reports of cheating. Fairly sizable. Is steadily replacing the Education Center as a hub for people meeting up. It's owned by one mister "Art Stevens", who bought it as a struggling establishment, and turned it around."
"So? Anything you want to wrack my prodigious intellect for? Assuming it's something you need to know, of course."

As keen as he was on picking on Peter, their mission report was actually pretty good... Thoron made a note to not just write off their digital ally; at any rate, it seemed to value doing it's job, and he could relate to that.
"Is there any plan we're supposed to observe, at least insofar as it can be? Or are the details on infiltration up to us, Omega?", Thoron asks. He figured that they ought to know what they needed, before starting to requisition supplies. And for that, their plan was probably essential.

Silas can't help but wonder how this 'Art Stevens' character got the ear of the Technicians. It sounds like an average problem for an average district. Then again, Art is getting a team of rookie Techs on the case instead of someone more experienced. It bodes poorly for a casino if they have to rely on official law enforcement to deal with people winning too much though. All the places Silas knows of have cut deals with some thieves specifically to deal with those who win too much. It'd be quite troublesome if the magnitude of this drug problem was exaggerated to get rid of an organization that Art simply wants gone.
After thinking for a moment, Silas realizes that there is something that needs to be clarified. "Hey, Omega. What are the symptoms of various degrees of use? Will we be able to pick out a first-time user from across a room, or do we have to be face-to-face with a hardcore addict to see the signs?"

"Peter, call him Peterrrrrrrrrrr." She's gonna use it till everyone just accepts it, and then use it some more. "And hey, Peter, do you come with like, ear pieces so we can all hear you without needing to be near? This is gonna be all covert, riiiiiiight? I think people will notice if like, we've got an awesome little floaty guy hanging around us and talking and just being utterly fantastic."
Leslie has given up, and exerts effort to slide further onto the table. Now laying almost entirely on the surface, she takes the databracer and holds it close to her, studying it.

"Oh, yes, there is absolutely a plan," the Porygon says to Thoron. "Let's see, ah here it is, make sure to observe it to the letter: "Have the Junior Technicians to come up with their own plan". That is indeed a very reasonable plan. Don't screw it up."
"Symptoms?" he sounds quizzical. "Processing. From tests done in controlled environments, it doesn't seem as if there are many outward signs, beyond eventual feelings of intense pain. So, in theory, just look for people who are in pain. In practice, that doesn't mean that they've taken the drug. So maybe look for signs of extreme luck. Not my problem."
"My name isn't Peter! And... no. Since this is a covert mission, I'll be in... *sigh* Silent Mode. It means I'll be listening, but unless you deactivate Silent Mode, I'll be stuck projecting my words onto the bracer. Ugh. You try being mute, and only being able to communicate with signs while everyone's usually facing the other direction."

"Being mute really doesn't sound fun." Soleil commented after listening for a bit. Personally she was completely fine with undercover since she could be free of the restricting coat. She didn't feel the need to get a new outfit considering her own outfit was from the Over.
"Well a plan doesn't sound too hard. We go and we look around for super lucky or pain or dealing or whatever. I'm good at spotti g things at the very least!"

"If we're going to be covert about this, you ought to have a disguise, too, Peter. Anyways, something tells me you won't have to worry about your messages being missed.", Thoron says, while trying to come up with a plan.
Soleil's plan didn't sound unworkable, and in fact was probably the best place to start... but no matter how observant they were, it would require a whole lot more luck than he was comfortable with, to find that 'lucky' gambler... After some thought, he volunteers, "We're going to have some funds to play with, and it isn't like we can get more covert than 'casino patrons'. That'll also let us see firsthand if anyone is unnaturally lucky. And from the casino floor, we can either split up to cover more suspects, or work together and tail some of the more likely ones."
