Church shuddered. He had heard the infamous tale of a Pallet Town trainer many years ago who had set out with a Pikachu. He had doubted it, but if Professor Oak vouched for the theory it must have been true.
Having incorporated all the relevant information, he opened his Pokédex and scanned Spot. It displayed various biological factoids, as well as information pertaining to type, size, and this specimen's particulars.Seeing his fellow trainers heading out, he set to do the same.
"Thank you very much, Professor. Like Marshall says, we should head out. Playing a bit with spot on the way isn't such a bad idea, either. He grinned at his Bulbasaur, who happily walked alongside him, excited.

i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag43/Nido_Nido_Nido/Amber%20profile_zpsi5h6z4n6.png Amber wished she could stay in the presence of Professor Oak for a while longer, but her companions obviously wanted to leave and she had pressed her luck taking that picture anyways. "I suppose if we leave now we should be able to make it to the Pokemon Center in Viridian before sunset?" she quipped. Seeing even Church scanning his new pokemon, Amber quickly maneuvered to the right setting and let it scan her floating companion. "I should probably try and get Chime a little charged up, he isn't so much the battling type" Amber thought to herself.

"Assuming nothing goes wrong and we don't get sent packing by some wild pokemon, yeah." Terry says cheerfully. "But that'll never happen."

"Certainly no trouble from the wild Pokemon!" Oak flashed the young trainers his movie-star smile, the one that graced his public appearances since he became famous as the Pokemon League Champion. "Being as you are young Pokemon trainers, I imagine you’ll be challenging the Pokemon League. The first Gym you’ll encounter is the one in Viridian City, which is - if I’m not mistaken - run by my old protege, Buzz Bicker. He favors the Bug type, which will give your Grass- and Psychic-type Pokemon some trouble - but they’re weak to Rock- and Fire-type Pokemon. Good luck - and remember, if you run into trouble, I’m only a quick holo away."
