An oppressive feeling washes over you. You whip around to see a face you'd thought you'd forgotten. The Fairy Guardian from the forest. Seems she's back again, and looking for revenge.
Her Gardevoir appears moments later, seeming just as eager as her mistress. Ithilmia levels her wand at you as her Gardevoir's eyes begin to glow.
Ithilmia will use her wand to cast Rending Spell. Serena the Gardevoir will use Moonblast. Both target Anette. All of Ithilmia's Pokemon are under the effects of Inspired Training. (+1 Evasion. +2 Saves.)
Initiatives Serena - 30 (Steadfast Ability grants +5 Initiative automatically) Ithilmia - 23 ~~~ Welcome back! Hopefully this one won't end as horribly for the Fairy Elementalist as last time. She has some new tricks though, so watch out!
Annette's pokémons are under the effect of Focused Training (+1 Accuracy & +2 on Skill Checks).
Annette has an initiative of 36 (speed + dynamism)
Nie has an initiative of 30 + Prankster
Note: This is not a 100% straight evolution from the other Annette; I changed some things after the last match (the Training feature for example). Also new tricks : ) ____________________________
"No threats this time - just action?" Annette replies and reaches for her pokéballs. She had expected this to happen, the faë never took defiance well, but not perhaps just then and there. But time matters little! With a tiny grin she sent out Nie the Whimsicott and battle was joined! "Nie! Leech Seed and go for some offensive defence!"
Annette sent an orb of pale energy straight at the Fey Guardian while Nie bounced towards Serena to fire a Leech Seed at point blank range. And perhaps leave another little gift; some wool over her eyes ...? ____________________________
Annette acts at initiative 36. She will use Confusion Ray Ithilmia. She will also bind Capricious Whirl on Nie (cost 2AP; Nie has +3 Evasion and deals -5 damage on damaging attacks) as a Swift Action (Commander's Voice)
sOJw3e7Y1d20 vs AC 2 + Speed Evasion. On hit Ithilmia is Confused
Nie acts at initiative 30. She will shift up to Serena and use Leech Seed. If hit she will also use Trickster and attempt an opposed Stealth Check to blind (Trickster -> Dirty Trick)
1d20+2 vs AC 3 + Speed Evasion (Ignores all non-stat evasion thanks to Flourish). If hit Serena is Seeded
Additionally if hit: 6d6+5 Opposed Stealth Check vs Serena for Blind (lasts 1 round!)1d20·1d20+2·6d6+5
Serena the Gardevoir is quickly under the effects of Leech Seed again, then Blinded and Vulnerable as a result. (February Playtest - Blinded, Paralyzed, Tripped, Stuck all grant Vulnerable for their duration). The Fey Guardian swipes at the annoying orb of energy, then refocuses her wand. ~~~
Taking advantage of her unlucky foes and their wild blasts of energy, Annette sneaks in a counterattack in the form of a mental suggestion to Serena. _________________________
Upon being missed by Serena Annette triggers Malediction ("Trigger: A foe within 5 meters misses all targets with an attack Effect: Use a Status-Class Move gained from Hex Maniac Studies targeting the triggering foe as a Free Action, Frequency-permitting.") to use Hypnosis on Serena.
XYKe_hgg1d20 vs AC 6 (No evasion since Serena is vulnerable)
@ Dice Roller. Yeah, d20ies are always sorta fickle. Especially in pvp where a single misbehaving dice can direct the outcome since we are probably about evenly matched. Hopefully they are more helpful in the future : ) 1d20
Serena triggers Synchronize as she is put to sleep by Anette, causing Anette's eyes to droop closed as well. (Free Action - when paralyzed, poisoned, burned, or asleep, the user can inflict the same status on the one who caused it)
Active Characters Nue von Ravenbrandt - Glitch World ~~~ Games record Applications: 15 "Ins": 4 "Outs": 8 Dead Games: 7 GM: 1
Edit: Annette will trigger her Lum Berry + Leftovers Dumpling to wake up again
Okay the dice definitely picked sides this round. On the bright side Annette had to get rid of her King's Rock so no such shenanigans. But she has the Demoralize Edge so Serena is now vulnerable (until her next round - which she is anyway thanks to sleep!) ______________________
Things where going her way right from the start! Annette quietly thanked the spirits that watched over her and promised to make a small offering the next time she came across a shrine of some sort. But now is not the time for that. Pointing to the Fairy Guardian herself she directed Nie to switch targets. The whimsicott quickly bounced away from her blind and sleeping foe over to Ithilmia where she weaved her arms in the guardians face - a most annoying experience. But for some strangely odd reason also sorta compelling ... Annette herself waited for the opening and launched a twin balls of fire towards both the Gardevoir and the 'human?'!
Nie activating Prankster. Shift over to Ithilmia (Serena is blind/asleep so no AoO) and use Encore!
To hit: xvwp6Vdh1d20+2 vs AC 3 + Speed Evasion (No non-stat evasion thanks to Flourish)
If hit: 1d6; 1-2 Confused, 3-4 Suppressed & 5-6 Enraged
Nie will also trigger Mind Games to switch whichever condition she rolls to Infatuation (Ithilmia is then infatuated with Nie, regardless of gender). She would also be vulnerable.
("Mind Games. Trigger: Your Pokémon hits a foe with a Move with the Social keyword Effect: The foe becomes Vulnerable for one full round. If the foe is afflicted with Rage, Suppression, Infatuation, or Confusion you may change one of the listed Volatile Status to another listed Volatile Status. Mind Games may only be activated once per Scene per foe. When inflicting Infatuation this way, the object of Infatuation is your Pokémon, regardless of gender")
Note: should Nie roll Confusion this means Ithilmia is no longer Confused since conditions doesn't stack and Mind Games replaces one with another!
Annette acting on initiative 36. She will use Will-o-Wisp on Serena. She will also use Diffuse Pain (swift action, 2 AP) to have the Will-o-Wisp also target Ithilmia.
On Ithilmia: 1d20 vs AC 5 + Speed Evasion (Note: If Nie's Mind Games took effect - aka Encore hit - then Ithilmia is Vulnerable and gets no evasion)
On Serena: 1d20 vs AC 5 (Serena is still Vulnerable and gains no evasion)
On hit: Burned
Note: Passive damage from Burn and Leech Seed does not wake pokes up1d20+2·1d6·1d20·1d20
Last Edit: May 1, 2016 23:32:23 GMT by Lessah: Added reaction to reaction. Eh ... :P
Ithilmia rapidly incants a counter-spell, causing the Encore attack to fail, then quickly dodges the ghostly orb of flame. She recalls Serena (who loses a Tick of HP from burn due to being asleep, and an additional Tick (13 HP) from Leech Seed.), and sends out another Pokemon, Altaria.
"Sienna, Mega Evolve and use Fire Blast!"
Mega Sienna Initiative: 19
Ithilmia smiles as her Fey Dragon's fiery assault sets the tiny grass type aflame.
Ithilmia uses her Standard Action to swap Pokemon. Altaria Mega Evolves (Now Dragon/Fairy) and uses Fire Blast.
Fire Blast AC 3 vs OjS10gl91d20 (Smite - Burns on 17+) Damage: 3d10+46
Smite: When Moves with the Smite keyword Miss, instead of doing no damage, they deal damage as if the attack were resisted one step further. Targets dealt damage this way do not suffer any secondary effects of the Move.
Nie yelps in surprise when the wave of heat washes over her - but once all is said and done the small cotton-ball reemeges relatively okay if only a tiny bit smaller having shed all the burning cotton. ______________________________
Nie activates Dodge ("Trigger - The user is hit by a damaging move. Effect - The move instead misses").
Since Fire Blast has Smite Nie still takes some damage but the hit is resisted one step further (1.5 -> 1.0) and Nie does not suffer the secondary effect!
Intent on finding a source to drain from that can't escape (and a bit annoyed that Ithilmia both countered her earlier little trick AND summoned someone to light her on fire!) Nie jumps up towards the Guardian and insistently attempts to smack a leech seed onto her.
Annette takes the opportunity to weave a nasty little spell for the Guardian as well, preying on her Confused state... ______________________________
Nie acting with Prankster.
Nie trades in her Sweet Treat + Leftovers Dumpling (it gives her 1/16 hp back each turn as well as +4 Evasion until Nie's next turn [but it is capped at 9 anyhow!]. Since Nie likes Sweet she also gains a +4 Accuracy Boost until her next turn!)
Nie uses Leech Seed on Ithilmia. 1kY|qDlS1d20+6 vs AC 3 + Speed Evasion (no non-stat evasion thanks to Flourish).
If hit Ithilmia is Seeded.
Additionally if hit Nie will attempt to Blind Ithilma with Trickster (1 AP). Opposed Stealth roll: 6d6+5
Additionally if hit Nie will attempt to Stack the Deck (1 AP) against Ithilmia; while Confused Ithilmia has -2 Accuracy & Evasion
Annette acting on initiative 36
Annette will attempt to Hex Ithilmia.
[dice=1d20] vs AC 2 + Sp.Def Evasion (Unless Ithilmia was Blinded by Nie)
If hit deal 4d10+40 Ghost Type Damage (with Conditional Damage boost due to Confusion)
Additionally if hit activate Grand Hex (1 AP Swift Action; Annette regains one use of one move that could inflict a status effect currently on Ithilmia [Confusion Ray]. Additionally Hex Conditional Damage boost is not expend. Grand Hex can only affect a target once per scene)
Unfortunately for Nie, Leech Seed cannot be used again. From Page 337 of Indices & References:
Moves that can be used multiple times Daily can still only be used once a Scene and not multiple times within the same Scene.
So you'll have to find something else to use. Since Trickster is conditional on Leech Seed hitting, you'll need to re-do that action as well. Also, Hex just crit, so I'm probably dead once again. >.< God damned side-choosing dice.
Additionally, for reference, the Burn condition:
The target’s Defense Stat is lowered by 2 Combat Stages for the duration of the Burn. Fire-Type Pokémon are immune to becoming Burned. If a Burned Target takes a Standard Action or is prevented from taking a Standard Action by an effect such as Sleep, Flinch, or Paralysis, they lose a Tick of Hit Points at the end of that turn.
Also remember that Evasion is capped at +9 total, so keep track.
Ah I goofed up. Shouldn't have made my action so late (but as you mentioned, at least the dice was kind to me ...).
Would you mind if I simply switched to Stun Spore instead? Main plan was to trickster Ithilmia up for Annette's hex (not that it would really be necessary now since I know what she rolled but it would feel sorta wrong to switch to another action!)
Hex Crit damage roll: 50aJkUkp4d10+20 extra Ghost Damage (and since Hex has such a high DB it is extra nasty ...)
@ Burn - Note that since Fire Blast missed (thanks to Dodge) Nie managed to avoid being lighted on fire (as secondary effects doesn't trigger on missed Smites)
@ Evasion - Indeed. But Nie reaches +9 Evasion with Capricious Whirl and her Speed Evasion alone (+8 on Def and Sp.Def)4d10+20
Aaaaand dead. Exactly enough to reach 0 HP after that confusion self-damage. I REALLY hate these dice. F****** me over again and again. And I was just about to use Full Heal to eliminate that annoying status nonsense. It seems that Trickster > everything else. Every time I do one of these, I lose because I face someone with the Trickster class.
Ithilmia goes down. Again. Seems that focusing her down was always Anette's intent. Naturally, her Pokemon don't take kindly to this, so Sienna charges forward with a flurry of stabbing beaks and slashing claws.
Whenever a Move with Five Strike is used, roll 1d8. On a result of 1, the attack hits one time. On a result of 2 or 3, the attack hits two times. On a result of 4, 5, or 6, the attack hits three times. On a result of 7, the attack hits four times. On a roll of 8, the attack hits five times. Multiply the Move’s Damage Base by the number of times hit; that becomes its new Damage Base. You may always apply Technician to Moves with Five Strike. Apply STAB and all other effects that raise Damage Base only after the Move’s final Damage Base has been calculated.
DB 2 before STAB. VEB5M7Tj1d8
(All DB listed below include STAB) If 1 hit: DB 4 If 2: DB 6 If 3: DB 8 If 4: DB 10 If 5: DB 12
AC 2 vs 1d20 Damage (DB 4): 1d8+54 (DB 4 + 43 (ATK+ 1/2 SATK) + 5 Miracle Mile)
Of course it would crit with only 1 hit. OF COURSE.
If I'm going to be honest this isn't as much about Annette being a trickster as Ithilmia and Serena missing their 137 damage opening volley on Annette while she managed to pull out a 97 damage crit on turn three. (Additionally it seems as if Ithilmia had a very low HP or very high Sp.Atk to get KOed with that?) __________________________
Annette stumbles half a step back as the angry cloud bears down on her. Feeling the damage inflicted by only one of the many strikes she had no desire to find out what the all-inclusive experience was. So she whispered a Spiteful curse at the angry fairy dragon as protection! __________________________
As a reaction to being mauled Annette activates Spite. Mega Altaria's Fury Attack is now disabled. __________________________
With another step back Annette finds some breathing-room and manages to fling a point-blank ball of fire towards Altaria. "Nie! Wind-switch - NOW!"
In response to her mistress calls the whimsicott conjured a Tailwind and bounced towards the hopefully distracted birds back ... __________________________
Annette is acting on initiative 36. She disengages 1m as a Shift Action, uses Will-o-Wisp as a Standard action and uses Dazzling Dervish order on Nie as a Swift Action (with Commander's Voice)
To Hit: xwV12OZ61d20 vs AC 2 + Speed Evasion. On hit inflict Burn
Nie is acting on initiative 30. She shifts up to Altaria and uses Tailwind. Then she activates Encore Performance to use U-Turn
To Hit: 1d20+2 vs AC 2 + Def Evasion.
If hit inflict 2d6+12 Bug damage.
Additionally Altaria will suffer a -3 penalty to all its rolls until the end of its next turn (Dazzling Dervish)
Additionally Nie will return and Stygg the Pangoro will emerge instead - right between Altaria and Annette.
Nie and Annette also heals a little with Leftovers. __________________________
... Nie disappears in a flash of light! Instead a burly Pangoro appears between Altaria and its prey, separating the angry dragon from the hex maniac for now! __________________________
I call this manoeuvre "hope it only has one (disabled) Fairy move. Or two tops!". We'll see ...
Pangoro will be acting on initiative 11 starting next turn (6 + Tail Wind) 1d20·1d20+2·2d6+12
Last Edit: May 2, 2016 16:02:26 GMT by Lessah: Pangoro stuff
Ithilmia had only 4 points invested in HP, but a grand total of 40 SATK. Her strategy is usually "hit hard, so they don't get back up".
The "angry cloud" somehow just absorbs the Will-o-Wisp, ignoring it entirely. It puffs itself up as the tiny grass fairy flees from its wrath, barely even feeling the U-Turn's impact. (21 Defense + resisted damage sort of negated it this time.)
Mkay just checking. Nie have to feel useful after all
Also this moment made me wish I stayed with Inspired Training! __________________________
Pangoro still locked in combat with the fairy gets a faceful of Moonblast in his face. He almost manages to twist away in time but the blast rakes the bear across his entire torso - "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!" His eyes flash with fury and a foul curse takes hold of Sienna preventing her from launching further Moonblasts. __________________________
Pangoro triggers Spite in response to being Moonblasted. He also takes two injuries (ouch!) __________________________
Seeking to immediately return the favour Styggs fists form an icy sheet and he attempt to pummel the fairy dragon into the ground! __________________________
Stygg acting on Initiative 12 uses Ice Punch! He also activates Leftovers
sBmWb8C61d20+2 vs AC 2
if hit deal 3d8+45 Ice Type Damage. __________________________
Seeing that her defender may not last much longer Annette springs back into action. She taps into Sienna's frustration of the Disables and channel it into a dangerous curse! __________________________
Annette acting on imitative 41. She will Shift a bit away from the battle. She will then use Hex on Sienna - if she hits she will also expend 1 AP to use Grand Hex dealing the boosted damage without expending the frequency as well as getting Spite back.
1d20 vs AC 2 + Special Evasion
if hit deal 4d10+40
She will also regain her use of Spite. 1d20+2·3d8+45·1d20·4d10+40

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.
May 7, 2020 4:47:37 GMT
New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
