Mael listened attentively as Igor described the room. So what is the purpose of the velvet room then? he wondered.
Then his heart skipped a beat and he paled a little. "My brother?!" Mael managed to get out through a thick throat. To think the mere mention of him still affects me this deeply, Mael thought, darkly amused at himself. So, Alvar used to frequent this place, huh... Somehow I'm not surprised. He was shocked again when Igor continued speaking. Where he is?! I thought he was... dead?
Mael took a calming breath and focused. Ah I see. I was too pessimistic. Of course Alvar would survive. He was Alvar after all, the elder son of the Caligo family. Mael had changed his entire personality based on his pessimistic belief that Alvar was dead. It was fitting then, that upon becoming a Magic Knight like his brother, he would learn that Alvar was not in fact deceased. Would this change who Mael was once more? He had no answer for that. All he knew was that he wanted to see his older brother again. His slightly wet eyes narrowed. "What do you know of Alvar and his... whereabouts. Tell me all you know," he said, then remembering his manners, added, "Please."

"I'm sorry, I'm not actually at liberty to tell you where he is actually." he said frowning a bit, "For you see, that would be counter to the purpose of the velvet room."
He smiled, "of course, that doesn't mean I'm tight lipped."
He placed a key on the table, a dark blue key. As Mael's attention focused on it, he noticed the tea was gone, and in it's place was a tome. It was open, and on the page there were several names written in it. The last name written in the tome was Avlar Caligo.
"I'm sorry to say though, it'll come at a small price." he motioned to the tome, "the rules of the contract are sorry to say, not to be stipulated at this time."
He looked at him, "But in exchange, I can give you the first steps to finding your brother, and a Key to bring you back here by simply unlocking any door with it."

Mael was about to get angry, but then he sighed. Of course it's not going to be that easy... It's unfortunate that Igor doesn't seem like the kind of man I can manipulate into giving more information. And again with the 'purpose of the velvet room'. Mael couldn't help but feel his curiosity as to what exactly this was over take him. Maybe Igor wouldn't tell him, but that didn't mean he couldn't find out.
As Igor placed a dark blue key onto the table, Mael's attention immediately snapped to it. Then the tome appeared as if it had always been there. Mael glanced over the names written on it, but focused on the last.
So I have to write my name there to initiate this contract. This completely secret contract, that I am not in fact allowed to know the contents of. Can I at least know the price? he wondered. Despite his questions though, it was clear what Mael was going to do. He would sign that contract and take the key. With this, he could bring the whole family together again, fill the hole that Alvar's loss had created. He could find his brother.
Mael shook his head in amusement. Look at me, about sign a contract I have no clue of. And they called me a prodigy. "I'll pay the price, whatever it may be," he said resolutely.

As he signed the Tome Igor nodded, a pen appearing in Mael's hand.
Igor nodded and waited a moment for him to sign, as Veronica came back into the room with a cart with all the things Mael had asked for.
As Niyol walked through the Bazzar he found himself somewhere. He wasn't sure where, but something was wrong. There were no stalls here, in fact there seemed to be four big guys blocking his advancement, and four even bigger guys blocking him from behind.
The biggest guy who was in front of him looked at him and said, "The boss is looking for you. Captain.

And now I sign over something unidentified to a man I don't know. This might cost me my life. I am a fool. They say fools rush in where angels fear to tread, but today? Today I can't fear, otherwise I will lose this chance.
Mael signed his name in a style almost identical to that of Alvar's, if a little less flowing and impressive. Alvar had always been the better at calligraphy.

The book disappeared, and the tea was back.
"Excellent" he said, "Then I can tell you what you need to know."
He tapped his chin, and thought for a moment, "Your brother came in here the first time similarly to you. Except it was when he wasn't as green as you are to being a Magic knight."
"I offered him a similar deal deal." Igor said, "You see your brother had been investigating things, and was looking for an answer to a question."
Igor shrugged, "To what he was investigating, and what answer he was looking for, it would be counter again to the purpose of the room to answer. Needless to say he needed information, and we were able to supply it. From that point on, I was an informant of his."
"He eventually asked for some information, about somewhere where he could gain more raw power." Igor said, "For a reason, that again, would be counter to the purpose of the room to answer, he needed to get stronger and fast." Igor explained, "He asked for the location of a Labyrinth. One that had yet to be discovered, and I was able to supply him with the location of where it was. I'm sure he went alone."
"He hasn't been back since." Igor said, placing his elbows on his knees and placing his hands in front of his face. waiting for Mael's reaction.

Niyol came to an, almost leisurely, halt at the sight of the six burly men even as they seem to box him in. He tilt his head to the side and look the men over in order to discern who they were affiliated with. "The question is, does the Captain want to see the boss?" Niyol quipped simultaneously checking his surroundings for possible open windows on the higher floors of the buildings around them.

The man looked at Niyol curtly, "Doubt it."
The man's symbol seemed somewhat familiar, but he couldn't place where the symbol was from.

Niyol chuckles dryly rubbing his temple with one hand trying to rubbed the headache away so he can think. "Well, lead the way then. Tell me about yer boss on the way if ye don't mind.."

Mael tried to piece together what he was being told. So, Alvar was looking for an answer to something. The occupants of the Velvet Room gave him the information he needed after he signed the contract. For some reason, he needed to get stronger quickly. This is probably linked to the thing he was looking for. Maybe he found it and needed to deal with it?
The young man sighed. If only "The Room" had less restrictions on the information it could give out. Still, the most important piece of information had been given to him. Alvar had gone to this Labyrinth in order to receive power. If he hadn't been back since, chances were he'd either found or not found what he was looking for and acted accordingly, or he was still in there. And considering the years he'd been gone, that would mean he was likely dead. But Mael had given up on Alvar once, he wasn't about to do it again. So if Alvar had found the power and strength he was looking for, why would he disappear? Could it be that it had disfigured him somehow, or otherwise changed him and he didn't want to show himself anymore? That seemed unlikely. Perhaps his disappearance was related to the information he'd found. But what could it be. Some sort of corruption within the capital? The threat of war with Gearhas? Mael shook his head. He would simply have to find out through other means. This line of speculation was getting him nowhere.
Alright, I'll bite, Mael thought. "So where would this Labyrinth be?" I need to backtrack Alvar's steps. I know that he disappeared after being sent close to Gearhas, does that mean this is where the Labyrinth was, or did he merely use the mission as a means to get away? This Labyrinth would probably be too dangerous to face for me right now, but if I know where it is, I can find it once I'm strong enough. Or maybe I could hire my own teammates to come along with me. If Alvar went there alone as experienced Knight, believing he could brave the danger, surely a team of five could handle it. Right?
But beyond all this information, one question has been niggling my mind. "And how do you know Alvar is still alive?"

The men grabbed Niyol's shoulders, and began to pull him along silently, they didn't answer his question, instead stoically standing there.
Igor pointed at the key, "As long as your alive, the key will not disappear. As well as that, I know where each key is at all times. This means as long as he's alive, the key will still be in existence. Now where that key is? It'd be against the purpose of this room to tell you that. Needless to say, I know the key is still somewhere."
"As for the Labyrinth. That is actually located two days travel out of Teplas." He placed a scroll onto the table, "A map there for you."

Mael visibly brightened up. His eyes seemed to shine with a new gleam. So Alvar really isn't dead, he thought happily, ignoring that he had no confirmation of the fact beyond Igor's word. The happy expression on his face eventually gave a way to focus once more and some annoyance as he realised that this meant Igor knew exactly where Alvar was, but simply couldn't tell him for some reason. That's really infuriating... Although I do appreciate the chance to find Alvar on my own terms. Yes, this just means I have to work hard to find him. But, oh boy, is it infuriating...
Mael blinked in surprise to find out that the Labyrinth was so close to the city. Alvar disappeared two days away from the city and no one noticed where he went? Mael thought in consternation. He shook his head mentally. No reason to blame anyone at this point.
The rookie Magic Knight looked at the scroll from the table. This would be the first clue towards finding Alvar. His hand almost shook a little as he picked it up. "Thank you," he said, really meaning it.

Igor smiled at Mael as he stood, "Your welcome. Do know, that only people who have entered the velvet room can see where the key is. If you want to get back, make sure no one takes it from you."
Veronica smiled as she moved the cart next to him, and placed her hand out, as she motioned to the cart in front of her with all of Mael's items on it.

Mael looked at Veronica's gesturing, before a little light went off in the back of his mind. "How much will this cost exactly?" Mael asked as he got out his wallet.

"Oh, that's fine," Mael got out the required amount of money and placed it in Victoria's hands. As he did so, he wondered a little about the meaning of what Igor had said to him. Should he worry about having his key stolen by people? Another light went off in the back of his mind. What if his brother's key had been stolen by someone? That could mean he wouldn't be able to return to the Velvet Room. Igor knew where Alvar's key was even if he couldn't tell Mael the location. That would mean he would know if it had been stolen. "Igor, was my brother's key stolen?" Mael asked.
After handing Victoria the money, he remembered another question that he'd been asking himself, but that he hadn't actually vocalised. "Ah I just remembered another question," Mael said. He paused. Please tell me why you can't tell me things, he thought, but said,"What exactly is the purpose of the Velvet Room, if I may ask?"

When Ovelia saw Jonathan she stepped back quickly at first to duck into one of the merchant stalls. She was still embarrassed about the group she was with and for a moment considered not revealing herself. However, seeing he looked distressed and seemed to be chasing something Ovelia sighed. She quickly stepped out and started running after him trying to see what who was chasing. If she could spot the target she could help cut them off.

Igor said once more, "It would be counter to the purpose of this room to tell you."
"That being said, the purpose of the velvet room? It's to show the people who visit this room how to find the answers of their questions." Igor said.
Looking off in the distance, Ovelia couldn't clearly see what he was chasing. It didn't seem that he was chasing after anything in particular, or at least she couldn't see anybody ahead to be chasing after.

Ovelia continued her sprint, not using her electric magic yet as she attempted to keep up and hopefully see if he was pursing something. If he needed help she could get involved, but if not then she could just fade back into the crowd. At the same time a part of her wanted to run up beside him and ask, but she held back nervously for now instead just running to keep up and see if she could spot anything.

As Ovelia kept following after Johnathan, but no matter how fast he was running seeming to chase after something, He didn't seem to be getting closer, as he kept running. There was something he was chasing, it was clear from the way he stopped and seemed to look for it, before he kept running again.
