Alex let out a quick yelp as the flames exploded around her, and not because of the pain (she was used to that), but because she was legitimately surprised by the ring shooting fire at her seemingly out of nowhere. As she shook off the soot that came on her as a result of the blast, the little girl Sans was talking about walked out of the cave, asking who she was.
"Hi, you must be Gem," Alex said, putting on a cordial smile. "My name is Alex, and I am a new recruit for the Order of the Youngest Sage. In fact, my first day here was today. That's why you haven't seen me around before. As for the bracelet, I asked Sans for a fire bracer, and he told me to come down and talk to you about it." And now that she thought about it, he probably meant to talk to her before touching anything. He probably could have been more direct about it though. I swear that man is a sadist, and is just purposefully setting up these situations.

The girl nodded, "Oh yes, Sure. You can borrow one of my bracers. Just bring it back when your done with it."

Alex was taken aback by the fact that she wanted the bracer back, as she clearly had plans to keep it. "Is there any date you want it back by?" Alex was hoping the answer was no.

"Ok, will do," Alex said, and she meant it. It was just that she didn't plan on being done with it, at least not until she beat Byron. "Thank you for this." And with that, she climbed back up the ladder, went up the stairs, and went to her bedroom. This had been a long day, and she needed rest for tomorrow, so she retired with ease.

Niyol stayed a good half hour after the last of his party member had turned in for the night until a big yawn broke his drinking. For the majority of the party, Niyol didn't so much as move from his seat, which was unusual for the young ex-pirate, but his mind was filled with what has went wrong in the earlier mission and how different, yet somewhat similar, being a knight was to a pirate.
His image of the Knights were a little different from what he saw so so far from the senior Knights. The only ones he felt were even close to the Knights he imagined were Thane, Mael, and Oveila in a determine, noble, and forceful kind of way, respectfully. Alex was interesting and a great help in the last battle but doesn't seem to care for nonsense like Oveila, who seems to see Niyol as an annoyance even considering her mood.
Niyol's easy smile slipped into a frown at that, dwelling on the thought and thinking once more of the mission. Until eventually he came to a silent conclusion and stood from his seat leaving his cup to turn in for the night.
