Prowl, stuck in the thick of things, lets out a yowl of displeasure when the Joltik's actions keep Eli from being where he should be, keeping Prowl safe! Snarling as his charm begins to shine brightly, there's a flash from Eli's bracers. Delphi's gem is now shining a soft blue, a color that suffuses Prowl as well before he leaps upwards, and jabs a paw at the Joltik in retaliation, the energy forming up into a rough approximation of a Natu's beak as it spikes into the tiny insect. Eli shudders as the paralytic waves of energy course through his body but he manages to work through them, for now at least. But this also means that he's at an extreme disadvantage. "No choice, I'll have to play sniper!" he calls to the others as he moves to the closest point of cover that's still in range, before belching another blast of flame at the odious little insect, and by extension, it's carrier. If Prowl's actions take out the little bug, he'll shift his aim up, and hit the Bugbear right in the face instead. Eli Paralysis roll: 11 Eli's new speed: 8
Prowl Uses Assist! Prowl Uses Peck! AC 2: CRITICAL HIT! Physical Flying Damage: 31
Eli uses Flame Burst on the Joltik (alternatively on Bugglug) AC 2: 14 Special Fire Damage: 28

Cecily hisses between her mandibles in pain as the mace slams into her, crumpling a couple of plates of the largely-ceremonial armor and badly marring the carapace underneath. She looks up at him with those massive compound eyes, whirring her wings louder and clacking her mandibles together - the Bugbear isn't the only one who can be Unnerving. That doesn't mean she isn't rattled by having an enormous, filthy bugbear roaring right in her face. Rattled enough that her next blow with her spear is rather wild and probably easy to dodge. In fact, Praelia has to duck under it as she jumps back, making her own strike rather haphazard as she executes another lighting-fast blow that makes ripples in the air before the Vacuum Wave slams into the bugbear. Swift: Cecily used Unnerve - Bugglug cannot gain Positive Combat Stages or trade in Digestion Buffs for 1 Round. Cecily uses Struggle on Bugglug! AC 4: 4 Physical Normal Damage: 19, ignore up to 4 points of DR
Praelia Disengages! Praelia uses Vacuum Wave! AC 2: 3, Poisons on 19+ Special Fighting Damage: 26

The others were distracting the bugbear and his Joltik. Perfect for the little wolf and her trainer. Tark shifted into position - far enough to be out of harm's way, close enough and the right angle to hit only the hostiles - and launched a flurry of powdery snow at the pair. The weather was still a bit hot for either to freeze, unfortunately, but it should cool them off. After the snow hit, Karga followed up with her own strike; frost covered her little fangs, extending and sharpening them, and she struck the bugbear wherever she could. Unfortunately, it wasn't right in the crotch, but the leg was fine, too. It should still leave a nasty little wound; the pup packed a punch. Tark used Powder Snow; AC 2 rolled 9, 21 Ice Special damage. Karga used Ice Fang; AC 3 rolled 8, 35 Ice Physical damage. Reminder that Mist is still up, in case you want to nullify combat stage losses, and just make a note you're using it in the spoiler and/or text of the post.

The onslaught of your attacks and the damage done to them seems to have really one a beating on the Bugbear as it cries out, flailing wildly to get out of the way of Cecily's spear but struck down before being able to do much else, singed and hurt, he is taken down, the Joltik rolling out of his beard and onto the floor.
The canopy stirs a little more as a Goblin comes out of it, the stench overwhelming as you recognise Reek, he is unarmed and is waving his arms, he runs up to the fallen Bugbear, "Bugglug! You hurt Bugglug!" he cries out.

Eli moves gingerly towards the others, as Prowl hisses and snarls in warning at the Goblin. "Just like you all... tried to hurt us earlier." He winces as electricity crackles over his body for a minute, still feeling the effects of the Thunder Wave. "Not so much fun, when it's you and your friends... is it?"

"He's hurt, but he'll live." Tark switched to the goblin language, taking out her first aid kit and whistling at Karga. The puppy stopped snarling at the smelly goblin from earlier and returned to Tark's side, still huffy and crinkling her nose. "Others from the town won't be so kind if you keep up your antics in this area. Especially with your friend helping out out. Bugbears have a nasty reputation, you know." She explained, walking towards Eli while digging around in the kit. She pulled out a small, thin sponge and a vial of...goo? There was some plant matter in it, maybe? At least it didn't smell terrible; it smelt spicy, despite being a color best described as 'brown-orange'.
"Hold still." Tark switched back to common before dabbing some of the goo on Eli with the sponge; not much was used, but soon Eli could feel his muscles relaxing and calming their spasms, expanding out from where the medicinal goo was applied.

Praelia tenses as the goblin rushes out, clearly primed for another attack, but Cecily waves her down... though her own spear's still in a guard position. "If you lot would find something productive to do instead of playing bandit, maybe you and your friends wouldn't get hurt when you jumped someone who fought back." Cecily Renata, goodwill ambassador, everybody.
She glowers down at the goblin... well, as much as she can without eyelids or brows. The set of her mandibles is pretty menacing. "Why did you go after us, anyway? If we look like an easy target I think you need your eyes checked." Hey, at least she's not saying "all goblins are stupid" right to their faces.

Eli sighed in relief as the last spasms faded. "Thank you Miss Tarkull, truly you're a wonder." He looks at the still unconscious Bugglugg. "Perhaps we should explain to their large friend exactly why we were inclined to strike first without questioning. Given the bandages he had out, perhaps he's not as fight-happy as his charges' attitudes led us to believe?"

Reek looked up and backed off at the approach of the orc as Tarkuul approached. "Gots to fight things, spesh big tough things, maybe you get hurt, but you gotta do it," it says, thumbing his chest, "Can't give up, look like easy kill, show 'em we is tough too, try to!"
The Bugbear began to stir just a little, the Joltik in it's beard a sending little shocks into Bugglug, as Icarus stepped forward. "It's almost a little inspiring..." he says, shrugging with big metallic shoulder pads.
That's when the flash happened. A rumbling came from the distance, to the northwest, and just as it was heard, a wave of purple light came with it. Wave was indeed a literal description, it was if the light weaved around the trees and pushed through, and the force behind it knocks Reek over Bugglug, getting a little shock from the panicked Joltik. "What is tha-" The wave struck Icarus, and the Warforged was knocked down to the ground with seemingly a greater force than what might have hit the rest of you.

Eli goes tumbling as the wave of energy hits, as does Prowl. The feline lands gracefully on his feet. Eli... not so much. Scraping dirt and leaves from his face and sputtering as he comes up, Eli looks around wildly. "What in the name of Darkrai's fluffy white hair was THAT?!" he yelps. Picking himself up, he looks to his companions as Prowl hisses and settles in to groom his mussed fur. "Is everyone okay?"

Libellans are tall, but not generally very heavy, so the wave of force sends Cecily tumbling. Her sharp fingers dig into the ground as she tries to arrest her motion, but she still skids a ways. Praelia is braced a little better, and winds up pressed back against a tree not far from where she started.

Luckily for Tark, orcs are a heavy bunch and the northern winds hit hard. She stumbled, but braced herself and stayed on her feet. Karga tried her best, but yelped and was pushed back into her owner's leg. The orc growled slightly and straightened out once the wave passed, looking around at her less-sturdy companions as they recovered.
"Yeah, I've been in worse." She assured, heading over to try and help Icarus up. "I think it came from the north or something. Wasn't paying much attention."

The wave passes, going off into the distance, the goblin seems to panic a little, getting up and running around, clutching its head as confused as the rest of you.
Icarus' eyelights are dimmed, and as you attempt to pick him up, he is heavy and limp.

Cecily stares after the wave as she gets to her feet again, before shaking her head.
"Is he all right?" This is directed at Tark, since she's the one looking Icarus over. After he's been so active all day, seeing him motionless like this is a little unnerving... especially since Cecily has no idea how one tells an unconscious warforged from a dead one.
Reek dashing around is starting to get on her nerves, so she nods toward the shelter. "You should go check on your friends, make sure it didn't do anything to them." She has to admit that his comment about showing his strength struck a bit of a chord with her, even if it didn't endear his smell to her any - besides, if he's checking on the other goblins, they know where he is and don't have to worry about him getting any funny ideas while they're distracted.

Reek nods and does a little salute at Cecily, taking commands well as Bugglug rolls a little on the floor, slowly coming to terms with everything again. Meanwhile, a look over Icarus seems like he's physically fit, as much as a Warforged can be, there's no sections to him that are broken, everything seems in place. He just seems to have stopped working.
In the shelter, voices can be heard; "Whassgoingon?!" Big wave, people outside, stuff!" "Bad peoples?" "Peoples that beat us up earlier!" "Gettum again?" "NAH! They took out Bugglug!" "NOT BUGGLUG"

That probably wasn't good...Tark flung one of Icarus's arms over her shoulder and hefted him up, with quite a bit of difficulty, entirely supporting him. Karga stayed near her trainer's feet, whining as she sniffed the Warforged.
"Seems like he's just stopped working...Let's get him to town; the Warforged Ambassador might know how to help him." Or give him a proper burial, if this meant Icarus was gone for good. However, Tark didn't want to bring everyone down if THAT was the case. "Eli, get his other side. He's heavier than he looks."
Overhearing the conversations inside, the orc rolled her eyes and switched to the Goblin language to shout back at them. "He'll be fine! Once he's back up, just try and get away from the town so you don't get beat up or killed by the next group passing through." Such a nice young orc.

Eli follows orders, looking perturbed by this turn of events. "Times like this I wish I had a flying type big enough to carry people..." Either way, he'll help haul Icarus the rest of the way back to town.

Without being asked, Cecily moves to pick up Icarus's feet. Easier for three people to take the weight than two, and it means they aren't dragging. If they run into trouble, well, they've still got their Pokémon around.
"Well, we're not getting anywhere with that until Draco evolves or we find something big, so in the meantime I think we're stuck. Let's get going before something else happens. Maybe someone in town will know what that... thing... was."

The Goblins had apologetically taken Bugglug back into their alcove with promises to leave and find somewhere else to live. A few rude words were also given but shushed up fairly quickly. As soon as they had fallen out of earshot, every sound fell away. There was just the crunch of your footsteps on the ground, no sounds of Pokemon, nothing of the sorts. It's eerie, but sounds soon pick up again once you come nearer to Pinecliffe. Some panic can be heard amongst the bustling of normal day to day activity and at the front of the gates, there is Oakfell, as well as a few other key members, each of your own racial ambassadors. Oakfell strides over and a pokemon is released as he does, a Gogoat much bigger than typically seen and it offers its back, as if allowing you to place Icarus on it.
"What happened?" Oakfell says, his voice a monotone. You all get the feeling he knows exactly what happened, but a couple of the other ambassadors look confused and concerned.

Eli shrugs as best he can while hauling the still unresponsive Warforged. "No idea. We had just wrapped up fighting a Bugbear and his Goblin friends when that energy wave passed over us, ruffled the rest of us a bit... and he just plain fell over in a dead faint. Hasn't responded to anything we tried, so we picked him up to get him back to safety. He pauses for a moment, looking to see if the others have anything to add.
