Kry'tok's Wings, that goblin stunk...Tark almost wished it had been one of those smelly Poison-types instead. At least THEY would've had a reason to stink. Regardless, the ice warden did what she did best: using ice. She swiftly blasted a strong gust of snow into the goblin's face - hopefully the cold would lessen the stink - and stepped back to let the others join in. No reason why she and Karga should have all the fun. Tark switched to Orcish for her command: "Karga, battle!" In an instant, Karga's mood shifted from the fun, frolicking puppy everyone had seen before into a cunning and vicious beast, her eyes narrowing and a snarl on her maw. She launched herself at the Rattata, savagely biting the little rat and getting in close to both combatants; a perfect position to work together with the others, in fact. Tark used Powder Snow on the goblin; AC 2, rolled 7, 25 Ice Special damage. Karga used Bite on the Rattata; AC 2, rolled 18, 30 Dark Physical damage and causes Flinching. Tark has stepped back to Near instead of Close. For Melee attackers, Teamwork is in play when attacking the first goblin here and the Rattata, so +2 Accuracy.
Tark's Speed: 11 Karga's Speed: 10

Cecily would probably have wrinkled her nose at the goblin's stench if she'd had one. As it was, her stubby antennae twitched in distaste at what she did pick up. "Oh, that's just lovely. How do you smell worse than the goblins in the swamp?"She whirled her spear free from over her shoulder, bracing it in two of her hands. She advanced on the goblin warily - you never could tell just what goblins would do in a fight sometimes. "Praelia, time to show off your technique! I think the rat makes a good target, don't you?"A decidedly sinister smile spread across the Croagunk's face, and she let out a low croak of agreement. Cecily kept moving in, advancing to hold the goblin's attention, while Praelia, moving more quickly than looked like should have been possible, darted in to within a few meters of the Rattata. She threw a punch at empty air, almost too quick for the eye to follow, and a rippling wave of pure force rushed at her target. Cecily's Speed: 10 Praelia's Speed: 3
Cecily's Standard: Draw her spear. Cecily's Shift: Close with the goblin, to melee range if she can get there.
Praelia's Shift: Advance to close range of the Rattata Praelia's Standard: Praelia used Vacuum Wave! Priority, range 4 Accuracy: 7 on AC 2; Damage: 24 Special Fighting-type damage

The goblin screeches in rage as he is blasted in the face by the cold winds, attempting to cover his eyes from the frost, "Chompchomp Gettit!"
He must be referring to the Rattata, not realising that the little pokemon has been mauled and then struck by some invisible force, and has been taken out of the fight almost instantly. He rubs his eyes and realises what's gone on and his face turns into a grimace as he focuses his attention on Karga, "YA CHOMPED CHOMPCHOMP!"Eli, off down the path, encounters another goblin in the bushes, this one without a Pokemon, but the Spearow above seems to be circling in, if it wasn't for the energetic Timburr thrown into the air by Icarus' juggling skills. Amazon smacks into the Spearow, near knocking it down the ground as she gives a thumbs up to Eli and Prowl. "CAWCAW, NO, GETTEM!"A little further down the path, a far distance, a third goblin pops out from the bushes, thrusting his little machete in the air as he calls to the Wooper that appears behind him. "Glubglub ! Slime 'em!"Name - Speed
Eli - 15 Prowl - 15 Timburr - 4 (14 this round) Tarkuul - 11 Karga - 10 Cecily - 10 Cawcaw - 10 (Spearow) Goblins - 9 Glubglub - 4 (Wooper) Praelia - 3

Eli lets out a snarl as he sweeps his blade down and across the Goblin's torso, angled to cut through what little armor the humanoid possessed and bleed it, before his movements take on a strange side-to-side sway, his cloak settling around him and making the exact position of his torso harder to determine within it. "Prowl, keep the bird down!"Prowl hisses in apparent disagreement, seeming to be leaping straight at the Goblin... before he pushes off a low-hanging branch and rebounds, landing directly on the grounded Spearow's spine, stunning the fierce avian with the force of the landing. Eli Wounding Strike AC 2: 11 Physical Normal Damage: 20, and the Goblin loses a tick of hit points. Eli uses his shift action to engage Flutter. Evasion is now 6, and cannot be flanked.
Prowl Fake Out AC 2: 13 Physical Normal Damage: 29, and the Spearow is flinched.

Tarkuul drew her short sword with one hand, waving her other over her head as a low mist filled the area. It was chilly, but not entirely unpleasant. "Kry'tok, preserve our strength!" She called in Orcish, blessing the cold mist itself to help the others. Probably still would've sounded terrifying to anyone who DIDN'T speak Orcish. Tark meant well. With the rat down, Karga bared her fangs at the goblin yelling so RUDELY at her beloved master! Determined to show that goblin some manners, she dashed behind the goblin and chomped his bum; a tender area where most people do not like being bit. Hopefully the goblin wasn't one of those that was into that sort of thing. Tark used Mist and drew her sword, did not move. Karga used Bite: AC 2 rolled 10, 36 Dark Physical damage. To the butt.

Cecily drives her spear at the goblin's chest while he's distracted with the set of teeth in his backside. The aim is for the barbed head to pierce his hodgepodge armor and give him a nasty puncture wound, hoping to injure him enough to take him out of the fight. The strike is off-center, probably easy enough to dodge, but maybe having a Poochyena hanging off him is enough to distract him. "Go down and stay down, you beastly thing! Praelia, get after number three down there! Try to bring him this way!"Praelia nods happily, looking quite satisfied with herself after her one-two punch with Karga took down the Rattata so quickly. She leaps up to make a series of terrible faces at the farthest goblin, intending to lure him down toward the rest of the group by sheer dint of taunting him. Of course, that's not all she's doing - she's got one eye on that Wooper at the same time, trying to evaluate how dangerous it is. Cecily's Standard: Wounding Strike on Goblin #1 Accuracy Roll 6 on AC 2 (including the +2 Teamwork bonus; goblin has -2 on Evasion due to flanking), 24 Normal-type Physical damage and the goblin loses a Tick on hit
Praelia's Shift: Move down the path to get in range of Goblin #3 Praelia's Standard: Taunt on Goblin #3 Accuracy Roll 14 on AC 3; on hit, the target is Enraged Praelia's Swift: Anticipate targeting Wooper; does it have any moves that are super-effective against Praelia?

The goblin that Eli encountered takes the strike to the chest, bleeding profusely and screeching out, rolling on the floor and calling for Cawcaw, who is also taken down by Prowl's swift movements. The Spearow stops moving underneath the Meowth within a few seconds as Amazon rushes forward at the new, Third Goblin, managing to just get in reach to punch the creature heavily, who looks annoyed, yelling at the party. His own party? "Gnaff! Reek! Watcha doin'?! You fight! You goblins!"But this is unheard by one goblin in particular, as the mist exudes from Tarkuul and rolls down the path, the combined force of Karga's teeth and Cecily's weapon takes him out, lying next to the Rattata. The second goblin comes back to his feet, focusing his attention on Eli, he brings up his little machete and attempts to hack at Eli's legs, growing visibly angrier as his attempts go on. The third goblin down the path spits in disgust and keeps his eyes on the Timburr, but looks at Praelia, grinning, making motions as if to beckon him, to fight, he makes kissy lips, as if in some attempt to phase the Croagunk. Glubglub, the Wooper, barely steps forward, just letting out a blast of water focused on Amazon, which just manages to catch the Timburr on the shoulder, causing his owner to cheer until he realises that the Croagunk is taunting him! His face twists up and he yells, "Come gettit den!"Goblin #2 used Rage! on Eli, AC 13, DMG 17 and is Enraged. Goblin #3 used Sweet Kiss on Praelia, AC 4, Miss, Praelia has a -2 to Accuracy for one full round. Disgusting eh? Was then Enraged by Taunt. Wooper used Water Gun on Amazon, AC 5, DMG 23.
Eli - 15 Prowl - 15 Tarkuul - 11 Karga - 10 Cecily - 10 Goblins 2+3 - 9 Glubglub - 4 Praelia - 3

Eli let out a curse in Slad'ranni as the little monster scores a hit on his thigh. Thankfully nowhere vital, but it stings like hell. "Go down you little prick!" he roars, as he continues to move within his cloak, trying his best to mask his motions. He brings his blade around once more, scoring into the frenzied goblin, before Prowl comes from the side, clamping his jaws into the enemy's free hand in an attempt to interrupt his attack pattern. Eli takes 8 points of damage Eli uses Flutter again, +3 to Evasion Eli uses Stuggle Attack AC 4: 9 Normal Physical Damage: 16
Prowl uses Bite AC 2: 7+2 from Flanking = 9 Dark Physical Damage: 26

Tark glances over at Eli and Prowl doing their thing; seems like they had it under control. "Karga, take down that land fish." She ordered in Orcish, Karga responding with a bark and rushing towards the Wooper. Once again, the puppy chomped down, this time tasting fish instead of goblin butt. Yum! At the same time, a blast of snow hit the Wooper's goblin trainer, Tark using her powers to 'cool off' the cocky little thing. A blast of snow should distract it from Karga as well; the puppy had a nasty bite, but not a thick skin. Karga used Bite(AC 2, Roll 13, 30 Dark Physical damage). Tark used Powder Snow(AC 2, Roll 9, 24 Ice Special damage). All is well.

It takes quite a bit to disgust a Croagunk, but a kissy face from a goblin seems to have done the trick. Praelia shakes her head, trying to get the image out of it as she pulls a face. "Come on, Praelia, focus!" Cecily starts making a beeline for the goblin that had been making said faces, even as a blast of snow hits him. "Hit the fish!"Cecily twirls her spear like a staff, the butt end aiming for the goblin to knock him off balance. Praelia shakes her head again and executes another strike at empty air, sending the Vacuum Wave toward the Wooper in Karga's jaws. Cecily's Shift: After the goblin! Cecily's Standard: Struggle Attack Accuracy 13 on AC 4, 22 Normal Physical damage
Praelia's Shift: Get into range of the Wooper Praelia's Standard: Vacuum Wave on Wooper Accuracy 12 on AC 2, 25 Fighting Special damage

The goblin that Eli has his attention focused on cries out as he is assaulted by Prowl and the Dragonkin, rolling around and attempting to block the claws and blows, unsuccessfully. Never the less, the goblin is still up, moving back just a little away from the blows to get ready to swing his little machete around, this time focusing on the Meowth. The rage seems to have overtaken him, however, as the machete falls just a little short. Meanwhile, the other goblin takes a blow from a blast of ice, a line of snot dripping from his nose freezing on his face. He attempts to brush it away fast as it weighs his head down just enough that Cecily's spear butt knocks him in the back of the head, to the ground, face first, with a loud crack. He doesn't move again. The Wooper is shocked by such a turn of events and cries out, blasting a water gun that falls too short to hit even the Poocheyna in front of her. This mostly added to by the Timburr smacking him with a Pound, and then being struck with invisible force, it falls just next to its trainer. One goblin still stands, albeit shakily. Gnaff points his machete at Eli, unaware of his fallen comrade. "Bring it bring it!"Everything Team Gobbo did missed. They're living up to the laughs the locals shared in town. Eli 15 Prowl 15 Tarkuul 11 Karga 10 Cecily 10 Goblin 9 Praelia 3

Eli's face is set. "As you wish," he muttered, bringing his blade around in a strike to end the fight. Unfortunately, a loose stone, hidden by the leaf-fall nearly proved his undoing, causing the strike to go wide as his balance was thrown off. Thankfully Prowl was there to cover his master's mis-steps, leaping in with claws bared to slash at the goblin, scoring deep wounds on its face and torso. Eli Wounding Strike AC 2: Nat 1
Prowl Scratch AC 2: 18 30 Normal physical damage

Gnaff laughs in such a way that it explains his little nickname only to be cut short by Prowl's pouncing. He falls back when his body is lacerated and goes limp. No more goblins have appeared, if this is out of fear or just absence, it's not known, but it looks like this fight is over. The path winds on a little more and you can see where the trees start to thin out. Icarus catches up with Tarkuul just a little bit late, shrugging and putting his weapon away, as he returns Amazon for a job well done. 6XP to Prowl, Karga and Praelia.

Eli gives Prowl a scratch behind the ears before he cleans his blade and sheathes it. "See," he says conversationally as he pulls out a stripe of cloth, a needle and some plain thread, before hiking up his pantleg to expose the gash the goblin had made, This is why I don't laugh at goblins. All it takes is the little pricks to get lucky once and you're down and out. I'm just grateful that your Karga was able to smell their ambush out Miss Tarkuul, else we could have been caught in a nasty pincer maneuver." he wraps the wound with the cloth scrap, and then quickly applies a few small stitches to the tear in his pants to keep it closed, before packing everything up again.
"shall we see if they've anything of worth before we continue on. Normally I'd call in some reinforcements to help deal with them one way or another, but given how little the townsfolk seem to think of them, I think just robbing the would-be robbers is good enough punishment." That said, Eli squats down and begins to rifle through Gnaff's belongings.

Tarkuul returned her unused blade to her belt, then nodded to Eli, choosing to ignore his statement about the goblins posing a threat. Especially since said goblins only gave Eli a scratch in all their flailing about. "Karga's a hunting wolf. She's still got a long ways to go, but her senses are sharp." She replied, Karga happily bouncing around the warden in victory.
At the suggestion of searching the goblins, Tark snorted. "I'll pass." She responded, moving the goblin out of the path with her foot, but being more careful in moving the pokemon. They were just along for the ride, after all. No reason to kick them while they're down.

Cecily wipes the head of her spear off with a sigh, looking down at the goblin she and Tark took out before starting to roll him off the path. "I'm not sure I want to touch these three enough to search them, quite honestly." Okay, it was only the first one who really stunk, but still. Turning the tables on river pirates is a well-established Libellan tradition, though, so she nudges through the goblin's armor in a desultory fashion - Eli has the other and she's very definitely not touching Reek. In any case, she doesn't expect to find much.
When she's had enough of that, she crouches down and smiles at Praelia, rubbing her head fondly. "Good job. Looks like you've mastered your father's secret technique, hm?" Praelia grins back up at Cecily and shadow-boxes for a moment, showing off her technique with her fists.
"It looks like we worked together pretty well in general, really." She turns toward Icarus with a grin. "Nice throw, by the way. That Spearow could've been trouble if your Amazon hadn't brought it down." It certainly could've for Cecily - her only flying Pokémon is Draco, and he'd have been worryingly vulnerable to the Spearow's beak.

The bodies of the goblins seem to have barely anything on them, they both have machetes carved out of bones and some rags piled on to make clothes. The one that Eli's rifles through is only holding one thing in his pockets, a dirty looking Cheri berry. Cecily's searching leads to a slightly fresher looking Chesto berry. Icarus' facial mechanisation shift into something of a smile, "Thank you, Cecily, I pride myself on my little talents, and the strength of my Pokemon, Amazon and Hyperion."He juggles a couple of balls in his hands to demonstrate, even whilst walking down the path. A little while down the path, the trees clear just a little. Fields come into view as they ascend into hills and, in the distance, mountains. There is also a tower of sorts, a Djinni obelisk. A number of other standing stones lead the way as well, each smaller representations of the obelisk but without the key feature, the eye. Some of you might even be able to recall, from a book or hearsay, how such a thing works, but you are arriving at Seer Heights Outpost. Outside of it is a Djinn dressed in loose robes, with a Xatu at her side, and a Centaur joined by a Poliwrath. They greet you warmly as you arrive, assuming of who you are, due to the time of year, and congratulating you on that little tussle with the goblins. "It was an enjoyable thing to watch, we'd noted the goblins for some time now but this was the first time they acted," She says, smiling. She then points off behind the obelisk, to the trees in the distance, indicating that she will be watching as you all undergo the capturing test, and says that you may go whenever you're ready.

Eli spares some water from his canteen to rinse the berry off, before putting it into his pack for later. The crude machetes he leaves, as well as their rags. No one wants to see a naked Goblin after all... he shudders a bit at the errant thought, before incinerating it. He smiles at Icarus' antics, but keeps Prowl out from there on, in case something else decides to ambush them. Coming up on the outpost, he whistles slightly in appreciation, even as he tried to remember what exactly these obelisks did. Gen Edu: 8 Occult Edu: 4 He greets the two caretakers warmly but formally, and gives a slightly embarrassed chuckle when they mention having watched the fight. After they indicate the direction they need to take to begin the capture test he looks to the others, even as he begins slotting a couple of dull yellowish stones into slots on his bracers, filling up all four empty spots. "I'm ready to head straight out if you all are."

Reluctant as she might be to take anything from the goblins on hygiene principles, a Chesto Berry might be useful - she can't remember if Natu have that hypnotic gaze trick some Psychic-types like to use, off the top of her head, but it can't hurt to have it around. She tucks it into her bag with a sigh and beckons to Praelia to follow with her as they head for the outpost. Just in case of trouble. "Amazon and Hyperion, hm? Strong names, very nice." They're not that far different from Libellan tradition, really. She watches from the corner of her eye as Icarus shows off - she'd never thought of wWrforged as entertainers, but Icarus seems suited for the role. She bows to the outpost caretakers, and even if Eli is embarrassed, she can't help looking a little proud, gesturing around at the team - after all, if they hadn't worked together so well that encounter with the goblins could have gone south quickly. She tries not to look like she's examining the obelisk too closely, since she knows Libellans and Djinni have sometimes had unfortunate conflicts, but she's curious. She remembers hearing stories about the obelisks... what had they said? As Eli prepares his bracers, Cecily checks her supply of apricorns, making sure they're easy to lay hands on when she needs them. "I'm ready whenever you are." After all, go and catch a Pokémon... how hard could that be? Gen Ed 6, Occult 11 to try and remember what Djinni Obelisks do.

Tarkuul smirked slightly at Icarus's juggling...Or, more likely, at Karga yipping and bouncing up, trying to 'catch' the balls from the Warforged. Given she was a foot-tall puppy and Icarus was taller than even Cecily - making Eli the shortest by a wide margin, poor little guy - it didn't work. A valiant effort on her part, though.
Tark bows slightly to the caretakers, recalling some of the tomes she had read on the obelisks; she might inquire more about them later, after gaining the trust of a new partner. She recalls Karga and nods once to the others, taking out one of the runestones from her pack. "Same."
