The trio makes their way back to the cart, not far away. They don't see a trace of any other pokemon along the way. When they get back, Captain Murua looks . . . relieved? She hops off the back of the wagon, where she was sitting, and straightens up, walking to meet the group partway.
"That took quite some time. What happened?"

I'm not going to say it was damage, but it was damage.

"Absol." Ruruo replied dismissively, as if the one word alone was enough to explain everything. Rounding the Captain, he flops into a sitting position without regard for any sort of protocol and starts digging through his meager pack. He and Aethus likely reek of strong alchohol from his 'home remedy'. Shame to waste a good bourbon. Well, good was subjective. Shame to waste a night getting piss drunk on a homebrew over a few gouges.
Where did I leave them proper cures at? I know they're in here somewhere.

One does not simply disrespect the chivalry that comes with being part of one of the Three Nations. That said, the others got Pokemon of their own, so in the end, if Edgar 'pinched it fair and square', it's his now, isn't it? He left the tribute for them to divide among themselves, though.
Upon arrival to the wagon, Edgar simply nodded as Ranger Tai-Zen said but one word. "It was a powerful opponent, even if it was but one foe." The smith needn't say anything more unless one of his allies decided to do so, at least not now - there are more important things at hand. Knowing how much of a fuss the 'lordling' made earlier, however, he gave him a glance, expecting him to say something.

"A small pokemon fighting hard to keep what status it had."
Aethus dismisses the absol, regardless of how much damage it had done to him, and everyone else in the group.
"At the least, I saw firsthand why the Riders are open to foreigners joining. Our Criminal Expert showed his talents well."
The noble gives a haughty glance towards Edgar, his compliment clearly having ulterior motives.
"But the creatures in the forest know who rule them now."
Aethus takes his seat, looking to find some kind of way to treat his highly battered Snivy.

Captain Murua listens to everyone's slightly different recollections, but seems to get a pretty clear picture. She arches an eyebrow at the reformed pirate when Aethus pays the left-handed compliment, and for a brief moment there might the the glimmer of approval in her eyes.
"Sounds like quite the adventure. We've known that there are some pokemon out here that earn the respect or servitude of the weaker species, but you've got some luck to run into one right off the bat. We'll take it easy until we reach the fort."
She unseals a barrel, this one marked with a simple ashen symbol, and retrieves half a dozen small, inscribed flasks. She hands two potions to each of the Riders, apparently not judging based on contribution or state of injury.
"Get some more rest, we'll be riding through the night."

Aethus takes the potions, downing one while handing the other to the exhausted Snivy. The grass pokemon extends a vine into the vial, and a look of relief crosses its face as it absorbs the liquid.
With his pokemon's injuries dealt with for now Aethus relaxes. He calls out his new pokemon.
"You were bringing tribute to the Absol right? To show your new loyalty, go and bring me something similar." He didn't have high hopes for it, but a sign of respect was what was most important. The Dedenne scurries away, and, hopefully, brings back something.

Ruruo is already snoring peacefully at the front of the wagon, just behind the driver. No formality, certainly didn't need to be told twice. Dedicated! Obedient! Willing to take long naps on command! That's just the kind of man he is, a shining example of the riders of Galla! At least until he loudly broke wind and rolled over on his side.

Edgar, in return for the haughty glance, could only offer a slight glare. He'd like to challenge him to a duel over that gods-forsaked Absol if he feels like throwing such a fit over it, but now was certainly not the time. After all, not only would challenging a wounded person be fairly low, they were also riding through the night, which, regardless of how much strength he has left in him, wouldn't be a good idea to deprive himself of sleep. It wouldn't be a good idea to start an argument in front of the captain, either... So he just let himself eventually fall asleep.
