Once his Lillipup awoke, he found that his wounds had been tended too, leaving only a small bruise on his side. He quietly cuddled up to Dumani, but he had some business that he needed to do. "Sorry pup, gotta put you back in." He said with a sigh as he pulled out the pokeball and pressed it on Pup. Once he was back inside, he got up and retrieved his stantler. Once both pokeballs were secure, he entered into the forest once more. This time however he was looking for berries/herbs for the trip. Perception: Wf0Y9BIA4d6+2 Survival: 4d6+2 4d6+2·4d6+2

Connor steps forward, picking up the Hawlucha's pokeball as he goes. He comes to a stop next to the nervously shuffling Pyre, and looks intently at each of the Seviper, then at the pokeball they're guarding. "I caught your friend in fair combat. He'll be treated well under my care. I don't want to fight any more than I have to. Let me take him and depart in peace."
He tries desperately to channel his father's gravitas, to impress upon them that there's no need for a further fight, even as Pyre flares his mane, attempting to make himself seem tougher, and not worth the hassle. The fact that he barely seemed to have felt that Lick should help some...

Connor
One of the sevipers shrinks slightly from Pyre's show of vitality, but at its partner's hiss likewise glares back menacingly. Connor's commanding voice seems to have little impact on their resolve. In fact, one coils around the ball protectively. Seems they don't care about a 'fair fight.' Nor do they seem to see Connor as easy prey.
Dumani
Dumani is able to put his green soul to work and quickly finds a berry bush - Oran, from the looks of it, with two berries he can pick that are ripe.
Erias
Seems Erias, at least, has found some of the peaceful residents of the forest. The leafeon hum pleasantly as their eevee returns to them. They're quite energetic now, whirling around the eevee and cleaning its fur, graceful, verdant tails swishing behind them. The turn their attention back to Erias, crying insistently, then the male scampers to the top of the rock ring, glances back at Erias, then begins to make its way further in. Seems Erias is expected to follow.
The Male is level 13, Proud, with the Leaf Guard ability. The Female is level 9, Gentle, with the Grass Pelt ability.

Connor glares down the Seviper, before slowly having Pyre back off. Obviously there was no winning here. He and his mount back all the way out of the clearing, grabbing the pokeball that had missed the mark on the way, and leaving the two snakes to puzzle over how to release their comrade. Once he's a safe distance away, he'll release Woolzy and spray the poor fellow down with a potion. Once the Mareep is awake, he'll do his best to backtrack to the road. Hopefully the captain had some spare supplies he could use to bind the brave little Mareep's wounds, as well as the injuries his newest comrade sustained during the capture.

It was a simple matter of finding a brush with Oran Berries. However it looked like the bush was still growing, only two berries looked mature enough to be useful. Still, he picked them and began to chew on one. The berry's juices splashed in his mouth as he chewed. It wasn't much, but it should help him recover from the tackle he got from Stantler somewhat. "Guess I should head back now, chief might think the others are lost." He mused, thinking about his companions. They seemed capable enough, though he didn't have much faith in their wilderness expertise. Picking himself up, he made his way back to Mutnegra.

Genuinely curious now, Erias followed behind the Leafeon. Despite his natural affinity, he had comparatively little practical experience with wild Pokemon, and this one certainly seemed like a majestic one, at home in the forest.

Connor
Connor hears the hissing of the sevipers in the back fade away. He's escaped with his life, and with a new capture. He can find some evidence of his previous path, but its going to be difficult. It seems to be the right direction, and Connor makes the best progress he can. It will take a while, given how deep and adventurous his hunt was.
Dumani
Dumani is apparently the first back. Captain Mutt is leaning casually against his ponyta, flask in hand. He waves to the victorious hunter with his free hand, then takes another sip.
"Well, glad at least one of you survived. How'd it go?"
Erias
Something about the adventure becomes to feel a little fantastical. Here he was, a Ranger of Galla, following a mysterious leafeon through enemy territory. Through a stream, down hills, up hills, weaving between trees. . . .
Suddenly the leafeon stops, its demeanor obviously changed for the darker. At its urging, Erias continues ahead and finds what they were after.
A corpse. Miristani, from the colors of his cloak. Wearing a breastplate, a small satchel at his waist, a dagger grasped in lifeless fingers.

Erias' somewhat whimsical sense of excitement came to a jarring halt along with his steps when he reached the Leafeon's destination, the reality of his mission suddenly reasserting itself. He cursed his own childishness, allowing himself to become so distracted behind enemy lines. What if the Pokemon had lead him to a living Miristani? Right into an ambush? He'd never seen a corpse before. Not even a Pokemon's. Erias was trying and failing to ignore the fact that this was a dead, human body. Swallowing back a bit of bile that had risen in his throat, the boy steeled his nerves - he had a job to do. This could just be some random, unlucky scout - or it could be exactly the kind of lead the Rangers were hoping to find on this mission. Silently expressing his thanks to the Leafeon, he knelt and prepared for the grim task of searching the body. He started with the satchel, gingerly removing it before perusing its contents, then examined the body to try and get a clue as to what might have killed the man. Anima stood guard, alert to their surroundings while he worked. A question lingered in the link - did the Leafeon know what had happened to this man?Erias' Perception U1oUEtJ33d6 Anima's Perception 3d6 3d6·3d6

"Things got rough, but overall it was a success." Simply said Dumani as he pulled out the yellow ball and called out his prey. The large Stantler took a moment to look at his new surroundings, before turning his attention to Dumani. It was rather strange, the Stantler looked content having been bested in a fair fight... at least that's what Dumani thought. "But am I really the first one back, I expected one of the others to have given up and return." He added.

Connor will pause once more after making some headway, looking around nervously. Even with Woolzy up and moving, he's still injured. And Pyre is still paralyzed. Not to mention that both mon had used up most of the benefits of the snacks he'd given them before they'd set out. Perhaps he'll find some wild berries or even some mushrooms to use as filler for his cooking on his way back...

Erias
Erias finds in the satchel a sealed scroll case, an engaged pokeball, a few dried ration bars, and some bloodied tatters of rags. The leafeon offers its vague, hazy memory of the recently-deceased. A man, panicked and already weary from the road, alone in the woods. The leafeon had noted old injuries and a bit of a limp to his walk. Then shadows in the trees. Buzzing and rustling from above. The man turns, dagger in hand, to face his pursuers - a small group of scyther, deadly swift. The human never stood a chance. The leafeon's memory grows hazy here - it did not wish to remain at the scene as the life was extinguished.
Dumani
Captain Mutt takes a few more less-than-small sips of his alcohol - then considers Dumani's report.
"A stantler, eh? Not bad. And you live, which is better."
He reaches to the saddlebags on his own ponyta, then tosses Dumani a roll of bandages.
"I have more where that came from, but we should probably ration them. We'll just take it a little slower in the future."
After all, its not like deciding to split up and go hunting wilds was his idea, was it?
Connor
These are unfamiliar woods, and Connor's not in the best shape to go foraging. Regardless, he manages to scrape together some edible roots and mundane mushrooms - he could probably make another pair of tasty snacks with these.
Finally, Connor finds the edge of the forest. Ahead, he can see the familiar, fiery manes of Mutt's ponyta, as well as the Captain himself speaking with the exotic hunter Dumani.

Connor stumbles to the road, looking exhausted. "Well met captain, Dumani. I, ah, don't suppose you've some healing supplies I could partake of? I managed to find myself at the claws and fangs of a Seviper and a Hawlucha." He holds up the Ultra ball in triumph. "Managed to capture both of them, but the Seviper had friends that got to its pokeball before I did. Woolzy was down, and Pyre's paralyzed still; so I got while the getting was good and took Fuerte," the odd word rolls off his tongue, a Syreni word for "strong" that he'd picked up from one of his father's old trading contacts, "with me."

"Trust me, I'll be making sure my shots kill for the rest of the trip." He said as he weighed the notion of using the bandages right away. The berry he had earlier felt like it would be enough to keep him going, and he wasn't planning on being that close again. Stantler simple made an amused face, likely thinking about how Dumani had troubles aiming before hand. In the end, he simply shrugged as he tossed Conner his badges. "Here, you might need these more than I do." He added, before calling back his Stantler. He was impressed that Conner managed to last against a group of serviper and a hawklucha, and managed to come back alive. All in all, not bad for someone who looked like they never held a weapon in their life.
"Supposed now we gotta wait for the Mystic." Dumani said as he sat down, Mystic being his nickname for Erias. Not like there were a lot of those outside of Ohtar anyway. Dumani could simply tell, Erias had that 'air' around him, like most Mystics back home had. Granted, it wasn't like he understood them anyway.
"Unless you want me to fetch him?" He suggested to the captain.

Erias carefully secured the scroll case in his own pack; the Captain obviously hadn't expected them to find anything pertinent to the mission during this little test of their competence, and he hoped his lucky find would make a good impression on his new superior officer. Of course, the scroll could just as easily be a simple unrelated missive...
He wasn't sure if the enemy buried or burned their dead, or some other more exotic rite, but it didn't sit well with Erias to simply leave the body as it was - enemy or no. His thoughts turned to the dead man's Pokemon; if no one had ever found the corpse, would it have been trapped in its ball forever? It seemed to terrible a fate to dwell on. Thus he determined to release the Pokemon, and perhaps give it the chance to say goodbye to its former master.
It was risky, of course... Erias had no idea what kind of monster was in there, or how it would react to it's master's violent end. If he could connect to it, he could convince it that he was not responsible for the tragic death. From experience Erias knew it would instinctively understand deceit was impossible through the link.
Expressing his intent to Anima and the Leafeon and warning them that a violent encounter might be imminent, Erias tensed as he released the unknown Pokemon, hand outstretched as he focused. One more Pokemon pushed the limits of how many he could safely connect with at once, but it was doable...

Erias' discovered pokeball flashes open, and reveals the verdant reptilian shape of a treecko. The treecko is immediately upset. Not by death, but by this specific death. Its eyes flash to Erias - uncertain if this was friend or foe. Through the tenuous connection Erias has forged, the treecko understands that Erias was not the murderer. But it does not consider Erias a friend, not yet.
Through the channel, Erias gets the sense of ice and cold from the last time the treecko was out of its ball. A far cry from the temperate forest they now find themselves in. The treecko and the soldier must have travelled quite a distance. The treecko also doesn't seem surprised by its master's death - upset, saddened, yes, but not surprised. It looks to Erias now, its only point of guidance in a world that it is newly alone in.
The connection is jostled by the leafeon's insistent nudging. Upon getting the mystic's attention the eeveelution snaps its head towards an overgrown dirt path. Seems its time to get going.

Connor fumbles the catch, but manages to keep the bandages from falling into the dirt. "Many thanks. I don't suppose anyone has a paralyze heal tonic though? Or another set of bandages? I don't want to hold anyone up until Pyre can work the kinks out of his legs, and Woolzy managed to do a number on that Hawlucha before I caught him." Connor stares at the bandages for a long moment, before nodding to himself, and releasing Woolzy.
Once the little mon has been properly bound up, Connor takes some knives, bowls and sealed jars out of his pack, and begins turning the mushrooms, roots and herbs he'd found into a pair of deliciously salty surprises as rewards for Pyre and Woolzy's good work.
Used Bandages on Woolzy. Created two Salty Surprises, fed one to Woolzy, and one to Pyre

"I should have a couple of vials in my rutstack on Yuna, feel free to grab one." Dumani said as he began to examine the horizon. It was rather strange, he felt fine having all these vials of potions, created by symbol magic. He pushed the thought from his mind as he looked onwards, waiting for Erias to come back.

Connor blinks at the extreme generosity, but takes his fellow Ranger up on the offer. "Thanks, I really appreciate it. Say, if your mon have any favorite flavors, I can whip up a snack for them in return. They've even got combat benefits too, thanks to a little bit of applied alchemy." Connor grins even as he gently feeds the tonic to Pyre. The Ponyta whickers in appreciation as his muscles shed the stiffness that'd been plaguing them since the Seviper encounter.

The Captain shakes his head in response to Dumani's offer. He looks displeased.
"Nay. He struck me as the softest of the three of you. The igglypuff among jigglypuff, as it were. If he doesn't make it back by nightfall we leave him and move on. No sense losing a decent soldier for a dead man."
His eyes narrow as Dumani offers the newly returned and quite battered Connor some assistance, but he does not comment on it.
"Well, you got put through the grinder, eh? Well, least we know about some of the more aggressive pokemon in those woods. Never known seviper were pack mon, but I don't try to spend much time around them."

Connor looks at Mutt, somewhat shocked. "You're not actually suggesting we leave a fellow Trainee behind are you captain? S'a bit of a joke, yeah?" He recovers himself somewhat though, and nods to the man's questions. "Yeah, guess that's what I get for not passing over the easy target. Pair of Petalil that were playing in a stream," he explains. "As for the Seviper, the one I managed to ball might have been a nest-mate or something."
