Floyd turns around upon hearing a stranger call out, just in time to see a brunette girl go heels over head.
"Are you okay?"
He asks as he crouches down. Alisa hops off of his shoulder and starts sniffing at her cape as he holds out his hand.

"Owww," was Eve's rather typical reaction as she picked her upper body off the hard cement. When she looks up, she finds herself face-to-face with the young man she had been shouting at. More importantly, though, the mechanical Eevee was. Right. Next. To. Her. Eve unsuccessfully hid a, "Squuueee!" as she immediately sat up and brought her hands close to her body trying very, very hard to not go all touchy-feely with the Eeveelution. Floyd's hand, meanwhile, was unintentionally ignored. Eyes alit with excitement, Eve asked, "This. This. This. Is this a Steel type Eeveelution?!". For the sake of courtesy, she did manage to look at Floyd for a moment while asking but... nope. As quickly as her head turned to him, it was turned back for more observation of the Eeveelution in front of her.

Floyd stands up slowly, frowning at the hyperactive girl. Alisa shys at the attention and backs away at the same time.
"Yes, Alisa is an Automateon. Please give her some space."
He says carefully to her.

"She looks beautiful!" Iris praised as she leaned back, obediently giving the requested space, "I see this Eeveelution retains their collar by turning it into a gear. I wouldn't have expected that, but I don't suppose there is much pattern, huh? And oooh. There's a metallic sheen to the body, the tail and ears have such sharp angles as well. Is her skin actually metal? No no... That can't be right, it stretches and relaxes like living material, so it's probably like Flareon's collar and tail fur, not actually fire but can get as hot as a fire. However, maybe it does turn into metal at certain parts? I want to touch. I want to tooouuuuch." She wanted to touch so baaaad, but she held back and didn't linger on the question long. Instead, she looked up at Floyd and asked a different question, "Hey. Hey, do you mind if I ask you more about your Automateon? Did the diet changed when she turned into an Automateon? What moves does an Automateon learn? From highest to lowest, what are their base stats? How did you evolve it? Steel plate? Metal coat? I've been meaning to try out both of those options once I got the chance but I haven't caught an Eevee that felt like a good steel type. Well, I mean, I guess Eevee are pretty rare, too, and oh. Actually, I'm already talking a lot aren't I? Where are you heading next? Maybe it's in the same direction, or can I have your contact information?". Did Eve even breathe during all of that? It was hard to tell, but she was standing up now as well so that she could take to Floyd face-to-face... or... well, as close to face-to-face she could get with her short height.
Taking Alisa's shy nature almost as some sort of challenge, Cera glooped down from her perch beneath Eve's cape. She descended to the ground from behind Eve, so that neither Floyd nor Alisa may have immediately been aware of it. They wouldn't be unaware for long, though, as the smoky purple and light pink, sometimes almost white, amorphous puddle grew to a notable size before gooing forward between Eve's legs. Eyes, bright red, blinked open upon the puddle once it had moved to the front of Eve. They were friendly eyes. After pausing to let out a greeting, "Rose~," Puddle-Cera continued to slowly approach Alisa, probably looking like some sort of really pale Grimer or Muk.

Once the stranger backs away Alisa jumps back up onto Floyd's shoulder and makes herself comfortable, conveniently avoiding the strange pokemon. Floyd tilts his head at the girl's questions and waits for her to finish before responding.
"The appearances of the eveelutions isn't very consistent beyond them retaining the same quadrupedal body shape. Espeon and Umbren have no collar at all. Her skin is entirely metal like many steel types. She doesn't really enjoy coming into contact with strangers so no you can't touch her. Clearly my opinion can't prevent you from asking questions, so go ahead. Her diet is mostly the same, but some raw ore needs to be mixed in to maintain integerity of her skin. She learns many moves, particularly steel ones. I have no idea what you mean. We delved into the darkest depths of Mt Moon to vanquish the beasts within. Yes you are. I was intending to remain in Cerulean for the next few days. What do you mean contact information?" Floyd says, answering each question in turn while keeping his eyes on the strange new pokemon.

<Wow, he actually kept up with all my questions,> Eve was aware of how her excitement could often get the better of her, but knowing didn't mean she could help herself. Taking notes on the information Floyd provided, as she was doing right now with a notebook she had whipped out from who knows where, seemed to have calmed her down. As much as Eve wanted to resume her rapid fire questioning and conversation, the underlined notation of, "Talking too much!" that she had taken from Floyd's string of responses reminded her to keep her cool. <There's no way I can ask him everything I want just here and now,> she was presented with a dilemma, <So... should I? I tried asking the youngest Eevee sister before, but she refused... Hrm... Well, nothing lost by trying!>.
"Contact information!" Eve explained, <You know, your phone number so we can call each other? Or rather, so I can call you if I have any more questions. Although, to be honest, I don't think I'll be able to get all my questions answered just through the phone. If you don't mind, I'm traveling alone right now, and I don't mind staying in Cerulean City for a couple more days. Would you mind if I joined you in your journey? You are participating in the league challenge, right?". Explanation into request. Maybe a bit jarring, but Eve was of the opinion it was better to get it off of her chest now rather than later.
Well, now that the steel type Eevee was up on the trainer, Cera figured she had no choice. Her body solidified, and the form that most would associate with Corroseon if they ever became common knowledge shaped itself from the puddle. "Corro~" the Corroseon called up to the Automateon, asking her to play. Unaware of personal space, as per usual, Cera attempted to paw at Floyd's leg to try and convince Alisa to come down... or maybe she was asking Floyd for a pick-me-up to his shoulder? Hard to tell. Although, Cera's eyes were pretty much focused on just Alisa. Like... trainer like Pokemon?

After wandering around a bit with Kaeda, Lia finally spots Floyd... with a girl bugging him. Hmmm. Lia taps Kaeda on the shoulder and motions to the two of them before heading over herself, and putting an arm on Floyd's free shoulder.
"Sup Floyd, we were looking for ya."
Lia looks to Eve and scans her up and down like she's trying to assess a threat. She motions to her while looking back at Floyd.
"The kid bothering you, Floyd?"
Meanwhile Scier has been fruitfully pulling on strands of the back of Lia's hair, trying to get her to not engage in another confrontation with every new person she meets. Although the Chimecho doesn't really have the body strength to do much of anything, eventually stopping to pout.

Kaeda walks up beside Lia, and wonders what she's up to. Hopefully this was going to go smoother than when she first met Lia. She was willing to see who was this super invested in talking with Floyd of all people. "Good morning, Floyd. Who's your new friend?"

Floyd resists the urge to sigh, remembering how stilted his first conversations in Kanto had been. He blinks when the girl pulls out a notebook.
Does she have a guide to good conversation or something? Actually that'd be pretty useful. He thinks incredulously. He snaps back to reality as the girl starts talking again.
"Right my phone. That's a thing I have."
He says, pulling out the almost untouched device, looking down at it with mild surprise. He glances at Alisa and resolves to fix the mix of apprehension, shyness and excitement he could see in her in a moment.
"I guess you can have my number and stick around for a bit. And you need to make up your mind - either socialise or go back into the ball. "
He says, switching his attention to Alisa halfway through. When she puts at him he picks her up and looks her in the eyes for a few seconds before placing her next to the obviously poison-typed fox and looking back at the stranger.
Alisa gazes at her counterpart and gives a soft cry that sounds like a blade being honed before stepping forwards to sniff at the pokemon.
Before Floyd can speak again Lia and Kaeda arrive and he welcomes them with a warm smile.
"Hey guys. This is a girl who fell over and her dtrange pokemon. Fell over girl, this is Lia and Kaeda."
He says, waving between them before realising he'd also been rude.
"And I'm Floyd. And no she isn't bothering me."
He adds to the stranger and Lia.

"Eve," Eve introduces herself normally, tucking her notebook away, "My name is Eve, and it's a pleasure to meet you," as she extends a hand to Lia. If the handshake was accepted, then she would repeat with Kaeda and Floyd in that order.
Cera sniffs back, but she was quick to get bored of just sniffing. Before long, she was beginning to circle Alisa to get a good look of her steel counterpart.
As hands were being shaken, Eve clears up any confusion, "To be honest, I was probably bothering him a bit. I'm sorry, I just get really excited about Eevees, so when I saw his Automateon, I couldn't help myself. I was hoping, if he and I'm guessing you two charming ladies didn't mind, to join Floyd's group so I could have some time to familiarize with his Steelveelution."

"Dude, she could be literally slapping you in the face and you'd sit there stone-faced like nothing happened, but... fine."
Lia listens to Eve before staring her at a moment, and then finally shaking her hand.
"Lia Regal. And I ain't charming. But I'll leave the decision to Floyd. I don't mind hanger-ons, but its the dude you are bothering so it's up to him."

Kaeda shakes her hand, and chuckles at Lia. "I'm Kaeda Starwood. Please don't let Lia's rough exterior get to you. She may not be the most welcoming person, but she's a sweet heart when you get to know her." She puts her hand on her bae's waist. "Also, I guess it'll be fine if you were to tag along. I think you had a much harder time with me coming along than this one seems."

"You really think I'd let someone attack me with no response?"
Floyd asks Lia, mildly insulted by the insinuation.
"And if you're really worried about Lia's opinion of you, just fight her a few times. She tends to get cheerful once she's had the chance to punch you in the face."
He says to Eve.

"Yosh!" Eve cheered as she got everyone's approval, clenching both fists and pumping them up and down once in an appropriate gesture. Well, Lia's semi-approval and Floyd's temporary approval, at least. Kaeda was clearly the friendliest of the three. With a polite but quick and enthusiastic bow, Eve said, "Then I'll be in your care!". "But... ehhh...," she's just as quick to respond to Floyd's advice once she straightens out, "I don't like being punched in the face... I'm not really good at fighting, either." A hand scratches her cheek as she gives an embarrassed smile. It certainly seemed true. Eve didn't look like she could hurt a fly... or even scare one away for that matter, and after that trip at the very beginning of her meeting with Floyd, she clearly was lacking in coordination.
Seeing that Alisa didn't pull away from her circling, Cera tries to initiate play time, booping the other Pokemon on the nose with her paws.

Lia looks at Floyd and scoffs.
"Yeah I do think you would if the person slapped you for a non battle reason. Look at this little one."
Lia moves around and slaps both hands on Eve's shoulders.
"This one that just admitted she isn't good at battling gets pissed off and slaps you for whatever reason. Which the not good at battling is a problem, are you trying to do the league?"
Lia turns back to Floyd.
"Anyway, this tiny one slaps you. It probably wouldn't hurt, but are you saying you'd respond with battle?"

"I'm wearing armour and have a big axe on my back. Anyone starting anything knows what they're getting into so yes, I would respond with battle."
Floyd responds, gesturing at his clothing and pulling his large axe off of his back to make sure Lia could see it. He turns back to Eve with a frown.
"How have you been beating gyms then? The leaders don't seem to like people staying out of the fight."
Alisa responds to the nose boop with one that transitions into a push, aiming to get the other pokemon off balance.

"Yes... slowly and painfully," Eve very honestly admitted her faults, "It took me an entire week to beat the Cerulean City gym because I overleveled Letty, my Floette." Just remembering that dark, dark time drained all the of the energy out of Eve's face. She quickly corrected this drop in mood, though, and with a smile, she added, "Oh! But I've cleared the Vermillion gym since then. It was a lot easier! Ahaha. I've started to just stay in the back and try to hit whatever I can from a distance... It seemed to work with the last gym. I just don't really know any better than that, so when they get close to me..." She left that up in the air so that the others could imagine the various types of pain Eve goes through if she doesn't keep her distance. In summary, "So yeah. Basically, the only strategy I know is to hit them with the biggest bang possible from as far away as possible as much as possible." Her tactics were clearly... lacking.
Oh. The Automateon was pushing in harder? Cera took that as permission for more cuddles, and as she just began to tip off balance, her body shifted into an amorphous form that moved onto Alisa's body and wrapped around the female Automateon. A satisified, "Krrrr," could be heard from the puddle draped around the Automateon.

Kaeda watches the Eeveelutions playing around. Perhaps she should get one of her own...She then looks back to the conversing group. "To be honest, I'm not great at full contact matches either...But I have seemed to do decently in normal 1on1 matches. We were actually gonna head to the fighting gym next. Is that fine with you guys? Floyd? Eve?"

Alisa almost falls over in surprise, but catches herself just in time. She immediately tries to shake off the goop covering her, clearly off put by the experience.
Floyd raises an eyebrow at Eve before turning to Kaeda.
"I'll accompany you to Saffron, but I won't be challenging the gym. My next badge will be the Toxic badge, though I am considering waiting until we've obtained our mega stones."

Nope. Cera liked cuddling too much to let go. Her head does reform, though, right on top of Alisa's where it rested looking very content and satisfied.
Everyone was for Saffron and Eve, as the newest member of the group, wasn't going to argue, not like she had any reason to. "That's perfect," Eve agreed, "I haven't tried the fighting gym yet so I'll be happy to tag along. The same goes for the Toxic Badge."
