"Ugh! I know that!" Kaeda paces back and forth a bit. "I don't know why, but I didn't expect...this. In a perfect world, we would have saved you, and and everything is fine. But...this isn't fine. What the hell are we gonna do?" Kaeda presses her face into her hands. "I have to go sit down. I cannot think right now." Kaeda starts walking back to the ranch.

Lia rounds around in front of her, now visibly angry.
"Look... 'babe'. You didn't get your perfect storybook save. 'I' didn't get my action movie escape. Valisilwen saved me. THINK about that. I now owe her my 'life'. The idea makes me want to throw up. Nothing went right."
She stares daggers at Kaeda.
"As for what we do now, we don't do anything. Hybrids have to integrate into society now. It's not like I have to hide here. This offshoot of Saffron Genetics are being hunted down and captured by the league. They won't be a problem anymore."
She sits down in the grass in front of Kaeda.
"There's no known cure. So even if I wanted- *sigh* I'm stuck in this body."

Kaeda shakes her head, and heads off back towards the ranch anyways. She just makes her way to the villa, and throws herself onto her bed. What should've been a massive weight taken off her shoulders just feels like another 50 pounds added. Without seeing Lia for so long hurt so bad, but seeing her now just made Kaeda feel useless and sick. They needed to talk, but now it was just yelling. Hell, they were failing to communicate before Lia disappeared. Kaeda just rubbed her eyes hopping things were just back to normal when she opened them.

Lia feels sick as Kaeda walks away. She's the fucking victim, how in the world is Kaeda WORSE off than herself? It feels like she's just disgusted with her now.
...Which is too bad. Lia's stuck this way, and in some ways, she 'likes' it. Kaeda's either going to have to deal, or-
Lia sighs. She takes out her dex and texts her still(?) girlfriend.
Be weird if you want, but where the fuck is Floyd? Did he not go with you?
She puts her dex away, and holds her head in her hands, about five seconds from uncontrollable sobbing.

Jane waits outside patiently, taking the time to sit down and catch up with the world at large. The surprisingly weird world. Very weird ... Something *was* actually wrong. Hmm. And it wasn't just the loud voices coming from the building. Or that Kaeda just walked past her looking like someone dropped a Golem on her head. It was something more; but it wasn't like she'd have time to deal with that now. No, now she was suddenly awfully curious as to what weird things that was happening in this very building. Asking Kaeda seemed like a good way to either get slapped or covered in snot. Possibly both. So instead she cautiously stuck her head inside the door. "Hello? Uhh "Lia" was it? What's ... oh" Jane stopped when she noticed the strange details of the other girl. She'd heard about these things before, but never actually seen one in real life. I mean it's a weird thing but surely they can talk about their fetishes as adults right? She tried to gather her wits to continue. "Ahem. Is everything okay? Okay-ish?"
It clearly wasn't but she had to start *somewhere*. |

”One way or another it’ll have to be ok.. And yeah, Lia. Probably not the best circumstances to meet. Jane... right? How’d they pick you up? A friend of yours get captured too?”
Lia sighs.
”Keep in mind they’ll probably be like this after the experiments , so you should accept that now or you’ll end up like her.”

Like "this"? A secret organization turning people into fu...? That couldn't be right could it? Maybe. Maybe no; Jane took a long hard look at Lia. Those ears certainly looked firmly attached. Oh. Ohh! Lia was clearly one of those "hybrids" the others had talked about. She'd expected something more drastic. Something more ... inhuman.
"Hmm. Maybe she just didn't know how to react?" Jane sighed. She would have been delighted if she could just find her friends. And her house. Even if it somehow had ears. "You know what? I'm going to go and make a lot of pancakes. Then we are going to eat those pancakes and things will feel a little bit better. After that I'm sure we can figure this out!"

Well so far Lia liked her. She seemed pretty harmless (reminds her a bit of Eve), but they just met and already she’s trying to make Lia feel better. That’s a good person in her book. Also pancakes do help. Lia sniffs.
”Well maybe tomorrow when things are calmer at the league, I can call them and see. Hopefully being part of the process they’ll let me ask elite four Anya if your friends were somewhere and are out now.”
She looks down for a moment. How could Kaeda even react like that? And blaming herself... unless they found her right after she got grabbed, she was already being hybridized. Most of the time was recovery. She’s still human, just has ears and tails. For Arcues’ sake, she’s basically an anime character now. Not like Kaeda cared about what people thought before. Lia was a tom boy athlete. Body wise, she’s probably gotten prettier.
And Lia is the VICTIM. Why is Kaeda so upset? She wasn’t taken against her will, had her dna fucked with, kept basically in a cage for ‘research’ and was beat into unconsciousness when she wouldn’t play ball.
”*Sigh* I mean I doubt it that’s what she was thinking but ok. But... yeah breakfast sounds nice.”

"I mean ... Imagine waiting to have Sylvester back for weeks and then suddenly it turns out you got Arnold back." Jane babbled as she headed into the kitchen and shamelessly started gather ingredients from the panty. "Objectively they're both really good. But it's not what you thought - it's weird and unexpected. And the things you've been thinking of forever, the things you would say and how it'd all play out, that's all moot. Now you have to get to da chopppa instead of wondering who drew first blood! And all the stress of worrying..."
She started mixing the batter while sampling the jam to make sure it was good. It was. But another spork-full just to be sure. Still good! "But if you sit down and think; it's still awesome. Just not the exact shape of awesome you thought. But that shouldn't be a big hurdle should it? Nope."
To make sure the jam was actually good she let out her flareon Fluffy to have a sample. He quickly got his head stuck in the jar, so that meant it was actually good. "Oh no... Could you help him? I'm just about to start flipping pancakes."
Luckily Fluffy's head wouldn't be very firmly stuck. In fact it wasn't stuck at all! He was just very occupied by his job as a jam-sampler. It'd be the prefect distraction though for a brief time skip!
"THE PANCAKES ARE READY! Don't make me come and get you!!" Jane yelled at the top of her lungs and placed a large stack onto the table. She unjammed Fluffy from the jar once and for all and smiled at Lia. "Don't worry. It'll feel better soon. And I'm sure this all can be worked out eventually."

Lia stifled a giggle as Janes monologue. She... had a point. An odd one, but a point still. She watched silently as Jane cooks, and her flareon gets ‘stuck’. That’ll be a bud for Eve it seems. She starts eating a pancake as to stay silent. Her point does have a flaw but Lia doesn’t want to argue that in her example, that’s two different people. Lia’s still Lia.

Kaeda needed a quick shower, and a good cry before she was able to head back. She didn't know how to take all this in, or how Lia was able to just act like this wasn't a huge deal. Lia, Sasha, and other hybrids needed help. They weren't supposed to be this way. Perhaps it would work out for the best....If they stayed on their little island of a ranch for the rest of time. Kaeda sighed, and followed the scent of fresh food. Kaeda enters the kitchen with a wave, and stuffs her head into the fridge. "Hey...Glad to see you two got acquainted. Hey, have you seen Floyd back yet?"

"Hmm...That might...not be good." She turns back around. "In another round of destroying Saffron Genetics facilities, we assaulted two of them at the same time. Both at Cinnabar Island. Jane and I went inside the surface building, and Floyd went underwater. He is stupid strong, but I'm sure even he would've been back by now....That's the agenda today then. We go fishing for a Floyd."

The conversation is interrupted by Floyd entering the kitchen from outside, wearing the torn and dirtied padding that goes underneath his normal armour.
"Hello everyone. You ok Lia?" He says simply, scowling a little when he sees Lia's new furry form.

Lia mumbles that it wasn’t Saffron Genetics, but doesn’t say anything audible. And then Floyd walks in, hardly reacting to Lias form. Sasha, Celestyna and Floyd recognized her right away. What is going on with Kaeda right now!?
She makes a shooting glance at Kaeda.
”Ok is not the term I’d use right now. But I’m out, and it’s over, and I’m safe back here. It’s why I texted y’all so you could stop what you were doing. I hope it didn’t cause too much trouble.”

Floyd shrugs.
"I was exploring an underwater facility. Didn't find anything except a computer, some paperwork, a Delta Shuckle and a woman who was feeling fighty. She beat me with her two megas and took everything I'd found and hid my team and the Shuckle in the facility after setting it up to sink. So it took me a while to wake up, find everyone and get out. And then the league officials had to talk to me, though they didn't say anything useful."
He say, clearly annoyed by the lost fight and what happened after. He shrugs again and returns to his normal stoic expression.
"So what happens now?"

Kaeda rolls her eyes as Floyd walks in just then. Of course he would. She also cant help it when she lets out a bit of a mirthful chuckle in response to Lia's comments. "I really don't know. I assume the league takes over from here. We just sit back, and....take things in. Then I guess it's back to gym challenges for us."

Lia just stays silent. This was her main goal she switched too, and now it’s over with her not really able to do anything to stop it. Kaedas acting weird about her now, she can’t even get in the water now so Ceruleans out...
She idly pokes at the remains of a pancake.

Lia wonders at him expectantly, secretly hoping he’ll stay to kick some of that Floyd (no-non)sense into Kaeda. Or the very least not leaving her alone to deal with the possible fight about to break out if this continues. She feels her inner fire growing, already.
