Kaeda looks back at Jane following her in. "I assume Floyd has other business?" She then looks around the main entrance. "If I were hiding horrible experiments, and captives, the basement is where I would find them. Right?"

"He's heading out to the sea-base." Jane gasped after she caught her breath from the short sprint. "Aside from in a country with even flimsier ethical standards you mean? Yeah basement sounds good. Less ways to escape unless they can tunnel!"

"Alright then. Be ready for anything." Kaeda opens her pack, and sets up her body camera. She begins recording, and looks around. "Remember to catch anything incriminating. Video, pictures, or whatever. Lets get going." Kaeda moves in, and tries to find stairs, or an elevator

The girls do find some offices, but nothing of interest within them. Well, aside from the fact that it looks like they were cleared out recently. Further on is indeed a set of stairs. These stairs are barred by an electronic gate. Seems you'll need to find a way to open it elsewhere.

"Hmm..." Jane stared at the locked gate. They'd have to find some way to open it! But maybe there were a quicker way? She reached for a pokéball and released Tia the Dragalge. "Tia - try Toxic and melt this door!"

The toxic attack merely slides right off the door and burns a hole into the ground. The door seems to be coated in something that nullifies acids of any kind.

Kaeda feels around the immediate walls for hidden switches. "I'm really hoping the key isn't hidden in some trashcan, or something dumb like that." Kaeda turns around, and scans around for anything suspicious.

Jane can't really see much through the small-ish hole that Tia's toxic made in the floor. Kaeda, on the other hand, notices some decently-hidden wires seem to run along the top of the wall/ceiling further down the hall. If one were to follow those, it would likely lead to either a way to open the gate, or a way to shut it off so you can force it.

Following the wires for a few minutes leads to a security room. Surprisingly abandoned. A quick flip of a switch and an indicator on the console reads that the electronic gate has been opened. It's on a timer though, so you'll need to run to make it through. Likely this was an extra layer of security so that a lone individual would have difficulty getting into the lower levels without clearance.

"Ah. I was right. Jane, wait by the door, and I'm gonna come running through. It's a time lock." Once Jane is off, Kaeda gets ready to flip the switch, hits it, and she bursts out off the room back towards the unlocked door.

Jane steps through easily the moment it opens. Kaeda makes it with about ten seconds to spare. Heading downstairs, the security starts to beef up a bit, even if it's still mostly passive stuff like code-locks.

Jane and Kaeda sneak deeper into the facility, slowly coming across tighter and tighter electronic security. They manage to find ways around it at first, but soon enough people start appearing. Seems not everyone ran out the front door. There are now patrolling guards as well as security cameras to watch out for and avoid.

"Unless we are really really sure we can manage to sneak all the way let's deal with the grunts as we go. Maybe we can get some info out of them too..."
