Kaeda grumbles as she heads back to the center to turn in for the day.

Eve shoots a concerned glance at Kaeda as she storms out, but doesn't dare try to talk to her. The little lady was scary.
It also didn't take Eve long at all to figure out why Kaeda was angry. Well, no, it was obvious in the first place she had lost, but the moment Eve saw couch potato, her face just froze as memories of Stored Power Venomoth flashed through her head. She understood the pain.

Stand-In Gym Leader Mary is relaxing on the couch again, watching those silent Pokemon League matches. If she notices Eve enter, she makes no effort to go and greet her. Instead, there is a sign just inside the door with a notice for challengers stating that Leader Nalkeya is out for the night, and she is (reluctantly) standing in for her.

Floyd decides to discretely glance into the restaurant before heading out to find his own battle, assuming Eve wouldn't be able to challenge a leaderless gym. Floyd manages to spy Leader Nalkeya in there, hanging out with a dark-skinned woman that Floyd doesn't recognize. If his observations of Lia and Kaeda are anything to go off of, this must be Nalkeya's girlfriend, judging by the way they seem to be gazing into each other's eyes.

Eve walks up to Mary and greets, "Hello, Mary... So... I take it I have to fight you again? This time for the gym badge?"

Mary sighs. "Yup. Unless you want to come back tomorrow. We both know how it went last time you fought me. Not saying you shouldn't try, just pointing out facts. Decision is yours, kid."

"Rude," Eve tosses back. She punches a fist into the open palm of the other hand... or tried to. She instead misses the first time but gets it right the second time. With false bravado, Eve smiles and proudly announces, "I can't even count the number of tries it took for me to beat the Cerulean and Vermillion gyms. A second time is nothing to me, so let's get this started. Double battles, four pokemon like time?".

Mary heaves another sigh, mumbling something about 'not paid enough for this...' as she pulls herself up and over to the arena. "Four Pokemon, six Pokemon. Your choice." Gym Trainer Mary actually starts with a different set of Pokemon vs Eve this time. A Gengar and a Beedrill.

~~After Lia and Faith awaken~~
Faith slowly gets up, rubbing her side. "Owww. You hit hard, Lia. Really hard."

Lia's kinda just laying in the snow, annoyed she lost again.
"Uh yeah, it's what I do."

"Hmm. I guess it's an effective, if clumsy fighting style. You and your Pokemon fought with honor, and you should be proud. Perhaps we shall meet again some day. As for me, I'm heading up further to test my skills against the next opponent."
Faith applies some healing items to herself and her Pokemon, recalling those who are unused to the cold. She picks up her spear-staff and begins the long trek up the mountain.

"Used to be more of a cleaner trained style but I found being reckless works a lot better for me for some reason. Good luck to ya."
Lia heals herself while Faith does as well, and rests for a while after she leaves. With a tired sigh, Lia gets up and decides to be stupid and keep going up the mountain even though it's probably a bad idea.

As Lia continues to make her way up the mountain, the snow predictably begins to deepen as the storm picks up. The clouds open up, dumping yet more of that cold, wet stuff onto a sore Lia.
Athletics to keep pushing! DC is still 24, and as usual, all a failure does is slow you down.

As last time, Lia lets Ply out to fly around and keep her warm as she ascends. Athletics: |e4PUCRE6d6The trek is moderately difficult, given the conditions, but you are well-prepared and power through it easily. You think you may even have made up the time you spent lying unconscious after your fight with Faith. No way of knowing that for sure, but it's a nice thought to have. Regardless of the truth, you once again have two paths before you: a long, but relatively safe trek up a well-marked path or attempt to scale another cliff face that looks even more treacherous than the first one; even without the blizzard conditions. Deciding once again that "there is no way in hell I'm climbing that", Lia continues on up the trail to reach the top. Athletics: Ps02EKil6d6 6d6 6d66d6·6d6·6d6

Considering how hard she pushed herself during the battle, it's probably best to take it safe. She's not entirely willing to fall off of a mountain today.
(Athletics again I assume?)

At one point, Lia sinks into a particularly deep part of the snow, about chest-high, but she manages to pull herself out of that and keep going. Even Volcarona is flagging a bit at this point from the sheer intensity of the storm. It's beginning to look more like a snow-bug than a fire-bug. At long last, you reach the top. Waiting there is someone she probably hoped she'd never see again. Valisilwen (aka - "Murder Lady").
"Oh great. It's you. I wondered why the Leader hadn't shown up yet. Apparently I have to knock you off this mountain first."
She draws a fistful of throwing knives as her Ariados hisses in anticipation.

As Lia gets to the top, she's about to thank Arceus for not running into the bullshit ninjas again until she sees Valisilwen at the top. Then she wishes the ninjas WERE there instead of her. No Faith though, it seems. Odd. Lia sighs as Vali makes threats.
"Didn't they like... take you and your freaky pokemon away from experimentation already?"
Ply flies up behind her, and Lia looks to the Volcarona of hers, and if Vali wants to start with her spider, she's more than welcome to.

"I was released after I had my fill of the poking and prodding of my Pokemon. Just because they're different doesn't give you an excuse to treat them poorly! Bastards..." She seems really upset that her Pokemon were being experimented upon just for being "different". Then again, who the hell wouldn't be upset?
"Don't worry though, I'll get back at them soon. Oh, and for the record, my Pokemon are not any more 'freaky' than your average Ghost or Poison types. Yes, their species is normally a different typing, but for all you know they just evolved (biologically evolved, not "experience evolve") different! And another thing: those weren't really League Agents. They were fakers. I could tell."
Before you get a chance to ask "what the hell does that mean?!", she attacks!
