Moments after waving to Scarlett Terry spins around again. "Wait!" He yells, pointing at the girl that was clearly perfectly happy to leave. "You have a Nidoran right? I mean, I can't remember the gender, but that doesn't really matter." He says, rummaging through his pockets. "I found this in Mt Moon. It'll do you more good than me." He says, poorly throwing the Moon Stone to the girl, turning to leave as it clatters to the ground at her feet.
"Yep! Peter Jones, Professor of Archaeology. He mostly uses fossils he found and revived, like that one." Terry says, cheerfully pointing at the purple Aerodactyl.
"It just doesn't know us." Terry says, pulling a candy bar out of his pocket. "Hey big guy! Wanna snack?" He calls out, waving the opened bar towards the Aerodactyl.
(27 on charm and Terry will toss the bar to the aerodactyl if it swoops)

Stephan merely backs up a few paces. He's not that friendly with Terry yet, at least not enough to join him in being eaten.

i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah182/chrystalrogue/Pewter%20Gym%20Leader%20post%20avatar_zpsys40yyej.png Scarlett grinned as she knelt down and picked up the Moon Stone. She stood and watched the kid run off, turning the stone over in her fingers with a thoughtful look on her face. “Those are carnivorous, young man!” An older gentleman called out to Terry from the far end of the greenhouse, striding towards them with a pace that belied his age. “My Archimedes is rather good-natured, but I’d hate to see what happened when its digestive system dealt with that!”The prehistoric Pokemon in question swooped down and landed on the walkway railing next to the boys, nosing at the candy bar but not particularly interested in it. It cawed at Terry, then took off beating the air with its great leathery wings as it flew low over the boy’s head and arced back up to its roost.

Ah, well. Carnivorous indeed. It might have indeed eaten him. I called this right.
Stephan steps forward next to Terry, but stays silent. He doesn't have a fossil yet anyway, so there's not much to do but watch.

Terry turns to the older man with a smile. "Oh sorry." He says sheepishly, pocketing the candy bar. "I guess I'm used to bugs. They eat way more than you'd expect." He pauses, and rummages around in his bag for a moment.. "I'm Terry, that's Stephan. I'm here about reviving fossils?" He says, pulling out an iridescent helix fossil. "I've been hunting in Mt Moon and got pretty lucky."

i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah182/chrystalrogue/Pewter%20Gym%20Leader%20post%20avatar_zpsys40yyej.png “A pleasure to meet you, young man,” the older gentleman said absently as he leaned in to look at the fossils. “Ah, remarkable! This looks to be an omolyte, an opal-like gemstone formed from the fossilized shell of an Omanyte. It forms when the shell is preserved well enough and quickly enough to prevent the aragonite within it from degrading into calcite, as what happens in most instances. I do believe it’s from about one hundred and twenty-five million years ago - you collected it from within Mt Moon, I presume? Yes, I can see the quartzite matrix. I assume you’re wanting to revive this ancient creature?”

"And a few others. My search was really fruitful." Terry says, pulling out a claw fossil. two root fossils and a piece of old amber. "I don't need the Kabuto's myself, so I'll be happy to donate them. Unless you want one." He says, looking at Stephan. "But an Omanyte, Anortih and Aerodactyl will fill out my party nicely, so when I challenge the gym I won't just be watching my bugs get crushed again and again. I don't want to pull an Amber."

Stephan gives a (fake) toothy smile to the professor, and listens into the conversation that he was having with Terry.
This one is the gym leader? Interesting. I suppose his pokemon would be exotic, that's for sure. Hmmmm. I'll need some help on this one...
He seems to snap out of his thoughts when Terry looks at him.
"If you are really willing to give up a fossil that easily, I suppose I can't deny the kindness."

i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah182/chrystalrogue/Pewter%20Gym%20Leader%20post%20avatar_zpsys40yyej.png “You’re on your second badge?” The old man glanced at the Honeycomb Badge on Terry’s bandana. “Hrm. The Omanyte will do fairly well, at least against most of my Pokemon, whereas the Anorith and Aerodactyl will be at something of a disadvantage without particular training. I assume you’ve a Fighting, Water, or Grass type to support the fossil?” He waved off his own question. “Ah, I shouldn’t be prying into that, now should I? You’ll be wanting to reanimate it, eh? Ever operated a reanimation machine before, young man?”

"Hey, better to share my fortune than overload my party right? And a little disadvantage is still better than a massive disadvantage!" Terry declares with a grin and a fist pump. "And once succesfully." He says, rubbing the back of his head. "But I've read the instruction manual half a dozen times since then and it turns out the machine was kinda faulty - the vita ray emitter needed replacing and the DNA extractor wasn't properly targeted for pokemon." He pauses and giggles sheepishly. "So long story short, I promise I won't break your machine."

Stephan feigns interest in the surroundings as he continues listening in.
So then. Giving me free information about your pokemon? How generous of you.
He stares back up at the roost, staring at the Aerodactyl.
I'll assume you are his ace, then. Stoisko may retain a rock weakness from his bug nature but... he's got an answer for you.
He looks down the rocky bug, who looks back up at his master, a quizzical look on it's dimunitive face.
However, Stoisko being my only pokemon at the moment worries me. He is clearly my strongest, and I'll have to lean on him.
Stephan's face forms into a clever smile.
But nobody says that he has to be stronger. I remember that mom and pop store going up against a brand new pokemart back when I was... what, eight, right? Down mainstreet. The new mart was basically a department store, trying to compete with the older family owned one. But the new mart stands empty today. They didn't even last a year. In the end, it was the quality. The smaller store could customize so much about what they made, while the mart relied on traditional factories. And that's what I need to be. This leader has a team that's larger. A team that's more threatening. But unlike this Professor, and like the small store... I'LL BE BETTER EQUIPPED.
He looks back up, seemingly snapped out of his thoughts. He reaches into his pack, and pulls out his Dowsing Rod. He looks to the device, and then the two of them.
"Excuse me, if I can indeed interject. It seems like both of you know Mt Moon to at least some degree. Do either of you know if there's an abundance of shards inside the caves?"

i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah182/chrystalrogue/Pewter%20Gym%20Leader%20post%20avatar_zpsys40yyej.png Peter chuckled at the kid’s enthusiasm. “How reassuring,” he deadpanned. “This is one of the oldest reanimation machines in existence, being evacuated from Cinnabar Lab before the eruption, oh, about twenty-five, twenty-six years ago buried the city in lava. It’s carefully maintained by the Museum staff, though, so you shouldn’t have any trouble operating it. Just follow the posted directions - and I’ll be there, just in case. I assume you’ll be wanting to revive your fossils immediately? Your friend can watch, if he likes.”Peter nodded in answer to Stephan's question. "It's a bit outside my precise expertise - you'll want a geologist for that - but Mt Moon is both volcanically active and subject to periodic meteor showers. As a result, both the surface and caves beneath are rather rich in shards and Moon Stones."

"Well if I seem to end up having trouble, I'll certain there's a geologist 'somewhere' in Pewter City... It is Pewter City afterall... But I'll make the attempt myself. If Mt Moon indeed has shards, I'm talented enough to find them."
As if to emphasize the point, Stephan flips the dowsing rod in the air with a bit of flair, before he grabs it and pockets it once again.
"Actually I think I'll leave this to you two. Think of it like a trust fall between strangers."
Stephan turns to Terry.
"Now Terry, I am trusting you to 'not' mess up the process of reviving the ancient pokemon you so graciously offered to me. Understand? Good. Remember that if trust is placed correctly, it can be rewarded. Of course if it's misplaced..."
His face turns to a concerned stare for a long moment, before he smirks and just shrugs.
"...Well I suppose you are just out of something worth five thousand dollars."
He turns and starts walking back to the main streets through the Museum.
"I'll meet you back outside when you two finish your science project."
