Bunnie watches and listens, noting that everyone seems to be drawn towards particular Pokemon. Out of the squirming thing and the purple mammal with a white stripe, she decides the mammal appears the most interesting and chooses to approach it. She takes a crouched position and moves slowly and quietly to keep from startling it as she holds her hand out to scan it with the Vault-Dex.

The response from the wildlings when Grimer is released is varied. The Bird flutters slightly upwards, but is still watching with curiosity. The fish begins squirming more energetically, and it's definitely trying to get away from the source of the smell. The two canines' ears flatten, and they let out a few growls, beginning to advance slowly towards the perceived threat. And the skunk... sticks its head out from under the rock curiously. It actually looks intrigued by the odor. Subject scanned. Database entry found. Stunky, the skunk pokemon. At first a playmate for children due to its looks, it was repurposed as an anti-psychic weapon and heavy support unit during the war due to its immunity to psychic powers, and the increased size and durability of its evolution. The warbred form is capable of secreting incredibly noxious and caustic chemicals. There's a flat buzz. In-depth scan unavailable, no pokeball signal found matching parameters.Need one more Perception roll please, as well as an intuition or Edu Pokemon roll. After your reactions, it will most likely be combat time.

Fixated on the bird, a creature that she had only read about, Christine didn't pay attention to the other, more unusual, creatures, not having any prior knowledge of them. But, a bird? That's something she'd heard stories and seen old pictures of. If this is one of those pocket monsters, then maybe it'll respond to human commands... She points her Vault-Dex at the bird, while simultaneously calling it over. "C'mon over here. We won't hurt you." Mr. DeLoria and Ms. Tres are right. Nothing ventured... nothing gained.Perception: 3 Pokémon Edu: 12 Command, to see about getting the Fletchling over: 12

Amber watches the dogs start to growl and approach with a small squeak. She grips her pokemon's ball hard, almost surprised it doesn't crack from the pressure, and hesitates for a second before reaching under Cecil, still pressed against him, to release the murderbeast she was given from its confines. Said murderbeast emerges in a beam of red light and looks around curiously, yawning to reveal it's long rows of sharp teeth. The pokemon's gaze stops on Amber and Cecil and it tilts its head curiously. Amber hesitates for a moment. "P-protect us!" She finally says, looking over and keeping a close eye on the growling dogs. In response, it turns and looks around, its claws flashing in the light. In the meantime, the blond points her wristy at the dogs, unsure of its range as she tries to scan them. Amber sends out Totodile. between the enemies and the group.

"Are those - are those literally hellhounds!?" Joe wailed when the canines were pointed out, practically diving to cower behind a nearby log. "What were people thinking when they made these beasts!?"Meanwhile, the Grimer - whether sensing the purple creature's interest or simply drawn to a kindred soul - slid closer to the creature, its amorphous body easily squeezing partly under the rock to reach a gooey hand towards it. Grimer advances. Joe's taking cover.

" I can have my own puppy!" The thought excites Bunnie, as if she were a child being offered a gift. Seeing that Grimer and Stunky have some kind of mutual attraction, Bunnie decides to leave them be and begins heading towards the two dogs, scanning them with her Vault-Boy. With her free hand she sends out Doug next to her. She kneels down and whispers to him "Lets not attack unless we've gotta, ok?" She rubs his head and smiles at him. Perception - 8 Intuition - 11

"Indoors, with armed guards 'no please, don't let it out here, it's an inhuman monster!' We aren't a even foot out the door yet and everyone's letting their shit out all over the place without complaint, jumpin or cooing at every goddamn thing that moves. Screw this, let me know when you all are done playing." Giving Amber a glance under his arm. "You want to survive out here, keep your head down. It ain't a game, and we aren't here for playtime."
Cecil made his way to the backside of the rock and hunkered into the scrub, getting as out of view as he could manage with what cover it afforded him. By his expression he was fuming, palming the switchblade in his pocket.

Cecil, you’re pretty certain that the hounds won’t be able to see you behind the rock. It’s rough and warm, another unfamiliar sensation to add to the myriad ones overwhelming your senses. Bunnie, as you get closer, the two mon snarl and bare their fangs, but continue creeping closer. They’re definitely stalking you, but… the light goes off in your head. They’re distracting you, just like those girls that had tried to ambush you once; they’ve got someone else attacking from a different angle! But you can’t spot them! Houndour, the Dark Pokemon. Dual-typed Dark/Fire pokemon. An early attempt at creating an anti-Psychic battle-ready mon, Houdour was created using other capable canines as the template. Their teamwork and pack-hunting capabilities are unparalleled.”Amber, while you receive the same notice, you quickly come to the same realization as Bunnie. There’s something else stalking you all. Looking around, you manage to spot the third member of the little pack as it creeps towards Bunnie’s position. It’s a canine, but definitely a different species, bulkier and with orange and cream fur slashed with black stripes, making it easy to lose in the patch of brown grass it’s moving through. It stops, making eye contact, and you can see it begin to bunch up… Christine, with the focus on the bird, you don’t realize anything is amiss. The bird cocks its head to the side as you scan it, obviously debating… before it flutters down, and lands on your shoulder! It lets out a melodious chirp, eyeing the Vault-dex curiously. Fletchling, the tiny robin pokemon. A common household pet, its beautiful singing is contrasted by its fiercely protective nature, making it a hit with people wishing to keep their houses safe while they’re gone, or to protect their children.Joe, the view from behind the log affords you a new angle, and you make out a bulky canine stealthily creeping towards Bunnie. It pauses, and looks towards your position, though it seems to be looking past you. It bares its fangs slightly, and then turns deliberately towards Bunnie, crouching and beginning to bunch up. Bunnie stops in her tracks as she realizes something is amiss. She looks around hoping to find the third dog, but nothing seems to be making itself apparent. She realizes what kind of mess she ran headfirst into, and her eyes begin to well up with tears as she stares down the Houndour ( Baby-Doll Eyes). "Doug... Watch my back. If anything we can't see right now attacks us, use the Peck attack the Vault-Dex told me about." Doug takes up a defensive posture, ready to protect Bunnie from harm. "AAAAAAAaaambush!" Joe managed to turn the scream that jumped out when he noticed the third dog into a warning shout, and on instinct hurled the closest object - a sturdy stick - at the beast. The stick sailed gently through the air to land right in front of the orange dog's snout. Joe stared at his own hand for a moment as if it had betrayed him. "Uhhhh... nice doggy? Play fetch?" he tried lamely. Not given any further commands, the Grimer simply hardened its membrane again, its goo shimmering through an array of various purple hues. Joe used Fling, but... critical miss! Let's roll with it! Guile (13), spending 1 AP for an extra +1d6, to trick the dog into playing friendly? Or at least into a false sense of security. Grimer's Hardening, now that it counts.

"Bunnie! Watch out!" Amber calls out, eyes widening as she takes in what's happening. "Totodile, help her!" She calls out. "Go fast!" In the meantime she keeps a close eye on the battle, waiting to see what these weird mon can do. The Totodile glances over at where she points and moves towards Bunnie, preparing to help her out. It lets out a warning hiss, watching the pokemon with narrowed eyes. It will sustain this glare if the pokemon has not yet attacked her. If it has, it will launch itself at the pokemon with sharp claws! Amber uses Agility Orders! Totodile now has Overland 7, and moves on Init 6. Her swift action is held to use as a record during the battle. Totodile will dart over, attempting to put itself between Bunnie. If the Growlithe attacks her, since it moves first, it will attempt to use scratch. With movement 7, it /should/ be able to manage this? Otherwise it will use Leer. It's position on the map below represents the second option.

"What? Ambush?" cries Christine, before turning to the Fletchling. "Shhh...don't fly away, precious, it's okay." She looks around, and sees where Joe had thrown his...stick? "Uh...Bones? Can you do anything to stop that thing?" Bones just looks at her, waddles over, and stares at the Growlithe. Uh... that's reassuring? Not...Christine uses Inspired Training on Bones. Bones uses Charm (AC2) on Growlithe: 4 [Lowers attack by -2 CS]

Listening to the rising panic in the women, Cecil followed where Amber was pointing with his eyes. Spotting the third dog, this one clearly fixated on Bunnie, he groaned inwardly. This was really happening. Kipping up from his rock, Cecil beat feet up beside the spiky, butch little rabbit creature. Helping form a line at the flank of the dancer, Cecil gave a sharp whistle at the two black canines, before hurling one of the energy capsules Skrub had given them in parting.
Acc Roll Vs. Houndour: 11 Capture Check: 100 (Critical Capture!)
*Click* The knife was out. Giving it a light toss, Cecil spun it round his palm once before gripping the handle, blade down. He gave Bunnie a sideways glance. "Don't get used to this. You don't find love with a mauled face, alright?" The slightest bit of color crept into the greaser's cheeks.

Bunnie, the Houndour you're looking at shakes its head in consternation at the pitiful act, before snarling even louder. It's not taken in completely by the act, but its fangs aren't quite so prominent anymore. The strange snakefish, realizing the danger it's in, flops and wriggles its way towards Cecil and Bunnie. As it reaches Cecil, it gives a particularly violent thrash, throwing up a spray of water that soaks itself, Cecil and Bunnie to the skin. (Water Sport) The target of Cecil's pokeball gives a loud yelp as the orb impacts, which turns into a panicked bark as its body is converted to energy and drawn into the capsule. The pokeball shakes as it lands, before giving a rather alarming crackle as energy roils over its surface, followed by a "ping" as the genetic lock finalizes, and a rather final sounding "click". Joe's thrown stick seems to have distracted the other canine, but it's certainly not in a playful mood. The loud snarl it gives does alert the others to its presence at least. It does seem to be overly confident though at Joe's show of inability. The Stunky on the other hand, seems to be focusing for the incoming fight, eyes shut tight as it chants to itself. As the chant finises you can see an oily sheen of energy playing over the mon's fur as it dashes out to stand near Bones, hissing at the fire dog. The other Houndour, enraged by the apparent loss of its packmate, snarls at Cecil before sucking in a deep breath... and spitting a swirling mass of fire at him! It hits, searing into Cecil's flesh, but the water on his skin subliminates, taking away some of the power of the attack. AC 2: 14 31 Special Fire, resisted one step further due to Water Sport The orange dog dismisses Joe as a worthy opponent, and instead rushes at Christine, jaws open and teeth crackling with strange negative light... but the attack is intercepted by the suddenly flashing wings of the Fletchling, which warbles a warning at the canine! Totodile is unfortunately left without anything within reach for him to attack, and shivers his jaw in annoyance. Doug, seeing his mistress in danger, rushes forward, sharp little teeth sinking into the hellhound's flank. It doesn't cause a major wound, but the sharp "YIPE!" indicates that the Houndour definitely felt that! Bones attempts to distract the angry tiger-dog with a silly little dance that's made even sillier by his still grumpy expression. Bunnie: 14 Barboach: 14 Cecil: 14 Joe: 13 Stunky: 12 Fletchling: 11 Amber: 10 Christine: 10 Houndour 2: 10 Fletchling: 11 Growithe :8 Totodile: 6 Doug: 5 Grimer: 5 Bones: 3

Cecil raised a hand to shield his face as the heat washed over his skin, the small fireball that the canine had launched leaving behind a scalding mess of burning coals across the back of the protecting hand. He swore and shook them free, pain lancing through his skin. It had already begun to blister. "Christ they actually spit fire..."
Gritting his teeth, he fetched Fink's ball from his pocket and finally released the gator at the Houndour's flank, his injured hand shaking a little after the release, it had already turned an angry shade of red where the coals had sat. "Fink, rough him up..." He balled up his shaking hand and shoved it into one of his pockets to get it out of view, taking a deep breath.
Fink's jaws stretched wide, enough space between them to easily fit the canine's head between them, and lunged on his squat legs at the other animal's throat. That same dark energy that had crackled in Growlithe's jaws seconds ago, lanced with much more intensity.
Bite: 12 To-Hit 26 Dark Physical Damage
Giving the strange fish an appreciative second glance. "I'll let the wet thing slide this time... thanks."

"Aaaaaah!" cried Christine as the canine lunged at her. Fully expecting the end to come, scant steps from the exit, she was surprised when the bird took the attack for her. "Th-thank you!" she said to it, inching back closer to Amber. "Bones! Can you do anything to get that thing away?" The Happiny moves up towards the dog, preparing to hit it. Christine uses Inspired Training again. Bones uses Pound. 14 to hit, 14 physical damage.

Bunnie, soaked to the bone, watches in abject horror as the dog in front of her shoots a blast of fire from its mouth. She gives it some thought and decides to wait for Cecil to get his inevitable return-attack on the dog while reaching for one of her Poke Balls. She looks back at the rest of the team and sees them having their own little adventure and decides to send in some backup. "Doug, go help them out. And get ready for a fight!" She's gonna wait for Fink's attack and then throw a Pokeball at the Houndour. To-Hit Roll - 14(Nat 20) Capture Roll - 48 (38 with Nat 20 Bonus)

Amber's attention is already on the Growlithe as it begins it's attack. She narrows her eyes, attention firmly on it as it begins its attack. She wants to remember every detail, because keeping track of what these things can do seems like a good idea. She bites her lip, noticing Cecil's negation of one of the enemies. That...worked. Is it really that easy? She pulls one of the balls she was given and tosses it at the Growlithe. She quickly realizes that it might be harder than she thinks as the ball goes wide, landing in the grass behind it. Totodile, without new actions, continues marching over towards Bunny, watching the pokeball sail over its head as she throws it long before he can reach the pokemon. If the houndour is captured, an audible annoyed hiss will emerge as it's eyes narrow and it practically pouts. If the houndour breaks out of its pokeball, it will release a gleeful hissing laugh and slash forward with gleaming claws! Amber spends her round 1 swift to record Bite! 1 AP spent. Amber throws a pokeball at Growlithe! It wiffs! Totodile shifts to approach the Houndour. It either sulks or uses Metal Claw (Accuracy 5, 27 Physical Steel).

As the striped dog charged past him, Joe's fight response uncharacteristically won out over flight, and with shaking hands he unhitched his spanner and flailed it wildly towards the beast's back. Turning as he completed the swing, he realized the skunk was now getting dangerously close as well. "Grimer, do your job and watch my back!" he cried desperately. Misunderstanding the order, the Grimer turned around completely and noticed the eel Pokemon behind it. Ambling forward, it collapsed into itself with a loud sigh, releasing a wave of noxious purple fumes. Welp. I suppose it's fitting I ended up with the most useless monster.Joe uses Thief (AC 2) vs the flanked Growlithe - 3 Physical Dark damage - 17
If Thief hits and the Growlithe is carrying something, just have it get snagged on some protruding peice of his spanner. I envision it as some sort of multipurpose wrench/arcwelder/screwdriver/etc. tool so it's probably got plenty of pokey bits and gaps for something to get stuck on/in.
I assume Grimer flubbed its Poison Gas Burst 1 (AC 6) vs Barboach - 6 Does flanking work for Burst moves?

Joe's wild flailing at least seems to do some good. His wrench snags the edge of a strangely shaped rock as the canine passes, pulling it from where it had been tucked into a "pocket" in the dog's fur, even as it smacks into the creature with a solid "thump". It also gains the canine's attention away from Christine, whose new friend is trilling a warning at the attacker. Joe obtained a King's Rock; Fletchling used Growl. Fink emerges from its pokeball with a blink, followed by a delighted hiss at being thrust into combat. It sinks its jaws into the enemy, but doesn't seem to be gaining quite the same purchase that Doug had with his own attack. The Houndour still lets out a howl of pain as skin tears under the Sandile's powerful bite. The howl is cut off though, as Bunnie's own pokeball smacks it square in the muzzle, turning it to energy. The capsule wobbles a few times, as if struggling to contain the creature, before it also pings, and clicks shut. Totodile hisses in frustration as it makes it to where the fight was. The Stunky continues moving forward towards the striped dog, pulling itself up onto the log and glaring evilly at the aggressive canine. The striped canine, unamused by these happenings and wounded from the fight attempts to get out of the trap it had fallen into. Once it's moved beyond the circle of people and pokemon and stopping next to the apparentlyly useless Bones, it seems to focus. The sunlight appears to be drawn into the creature's body, healing the damage that Joe inflicted at a rapid pace. In seconds, it's like it was never hit at all! The snake-fish, having relaxed its guard thanks to the actions of the humans, lets out a distressed gurgle as the Grimer launches the gas attack, but seems gratified that Cecil didn't herd it into the way of the toxic fumes. It coils itself for a moment, then uses its tail to scoop up some of the muck its splashing earlier had created, launching it at the mobile muck pile, while gurgling angrily. It seems to be chastising the Grimer. Mud Slap hits, does 18 special ground before defenses and weaknesses, and inflicting a -1 accuracy penalty to Grimer. Unfortunately for the canine, it seems that it severely underestimated Bones, and the little Happiny smacks it soundly for its hubris, doing nearly as much damage as Joe had! Bunnie: 14 Barboach: 14 Cecil: 14 Joe: 13 Fink: 12 Stunky: 12 Fletchling: 11 Amber: 10 Christine: 10 Fletchling: 11 Growlithe :8 Totodile: 6 Doug: 5 Grimer: 5 Bones: 3
