Oops is gone almost before Parish finishes the words, darting off into the plantlife. He is... not as hard to find as he thinks, both because he's very shiny, Parish can still see through his senses... but mostly because he snickers a lot. As the pair of them go through the woods, the snake seems to follow them, warping from branch to branch, rather than following through the air.
There's a handful of rustling in the bushes that flee the Phlask as he moves to hide, but nothing shows itself to really come forth to meet them. It seems like everything on this forested island - which he's seemed to probably cross about halfway - is very reclusive and solitary.

"Where's Oops?". Parish would ask, looking around in an exaggerated manner, giving off a sense of playfulness and good humor. Stalking along through the brush, stopping when the snickering first registers and doing a dramatic turn towards the Pokemon's hiding place until it stops.
Feigning a loss of interest, he ambled in slow circles until he was near the bush and pulls the leaves wide. "Ohhh noooo! A spooky ghost!". He recoils, landing softly on his back in mock terror, before breaking into fits of laughter as the Phlask circled him with some sense of triumph.

Nothing really bothers them during their game, but eventually the Phlask gets tuckered out from all the darting from place to place, and decides to stop. In the middle of hiding, even, just floating back and leaning against Parish.
The snake seems to have found progressively lower and lower branches to cling onto, as it's almost at eye level right now with Parish, just trying to understand everything.

"Alright you, glad you got it out of your system. You can take a rest too. The portal probably isn't on this island, so there is more swimming before we get to where we are going.". He gives the Phlask a gentle rub and tucks Oops into a cargo pocket in his pants.
"Oh, hello again. That's called Play. You do it when it is safe, with friends.". He explains to the snake patiently.

The snake doesn't really seem to understand the concept of either. There are few things around. Being alone is easier to hide. It's very good at hiding. ...but not good enough, apparently. Because it was found. But not eaten. Is that safe?
The light by this time seems to be slowly descending towards the horizon, the sky illuminating in the beginnings of a sunset.

"Being found but not eaten is play. That is safe yes. Knowing that you can be visible and nothing will try to eat you.". Lightly reaching up, he stroked under its chin if it permits contact. "It is so odd that there are so many prey animals on these islands but no diurnal predators. I suppose the land population wouldn't support many predators. Getting on towards dusk now. I guess you can show me your favorite tree before I head back into the ocean? A place you enjoy the most?"

The serpent seems to consider it, before there's a pang of alarm that courses through the mental link, and it wraps itself around his arm, trying to lightly pull him in a direction. Lightly, but vigorously.
Listening carefully, Parish can almost hear a tiny bit of rustling and crackling somewhere in the woods.

"Ah... I see, I'm coming.". The boy still lit up as he was, hiding would be impossible, but hurrying wasn't a terrible idea. He let his new accessory guide him, and made as little sound as possible. "Rebecca, it's distressed and leading me somewhere. I might be in for a fight. Not sure with what, everything on this island has been pretty skittish."

There's more crashing, as trees and brush are tossed aside. A brilliant light seems to be off in the distance, growing ever closer at high speeds, crashing through the underbrush. ...it's clear there's some fair amount of power behind whatever's approaching, given that trees off not too far away are getting knocked at dangerously askew angles, before leaning back.
There's more and more panic from the snake, it coiling tighter as if tense, and from the feel of it, it's trying to lead him to the closest shore. It's not quite dark enough to see the glow of the beach yet, but the air certainly smells more oceanic, and less earthy.
Oops, out of everyone, seems to be having the time of his life, hurrying along.

"At least one of us is having a good time.". Parish breaks into a dead sprint, feeing the ghost bounce and roll in his pocket roughly as they all make for the water. The boy can't help but look behind him repeatedly as the massive what-ever-it-is blows its way violently through trees and underbrush alike. It must be impossibly fast for how little the boy could register before it was on top of them.

At last, the group makes it to the ocean, with the sands just starting to glow. The serpent detaches from his arm, and disappears once again, the shimmer seeming to be well-above the water.
It doesn't seem like it's impossibly fast, mostly... very, very bright, because there's still some time between him getting out on the beach and it seeing to catch up to them. Out of the treeline stomps an angry quadruped, glowing super brightly, with the colours of an aurora. It stomps and snorts, staring at Parish.

"I'm not ready to leave just yet.". Parish tells the flaming pig Pokemon as he releases Hero into the surf and emptied Oops from his pocket. "And I am not going to be bullied either. Hero, Thunder Wave."
(Parish binds Spirit Boost to give Hero +4 Initiative, for 24)
"Chou!". Hero releases a spark that arcs along the water, and waves at the other very bright friend, and seems confused why he was being told to yell. Talking was enough.
"Eheh... Right... Maybe just a little bullying. Smokescreen Oops!"
An acrid cloud blooms on the sands between the boy and his bottle, and the boar Pokemon.

The boar stamps, and gives a cry, with a mote of the light around it lancing towards Oops, and striking it, even despite the obstruction of smoke and fog. Oops does… not seem very pleased by this development. This was not what he signed up for! This isn't spooking anyone at all! ...Hero's just busy trying to understand this light show. What could it mean???Oops takes 31 special Psychic damage from Confusion.

Oops decidedly dislikes the attempt, a bolt of dark energy lancing through the air and into the pig, Disabling its confusion attack. Parish attempts to strike the massive porcine with a Pokeball, moving around the cloud to do so and spreading from his partners, but makes a poor show of it. Hero continues to be confused about just what exactly is happening. Lid bouncing and rattling, Oops releases a foul and ominous wind.
(Pokeball is a 7 on an AC 6 Status, Electro Ball Misses. Pig has confusion disabled and takes 39 Ghost Special.)

"Are you sure this is a good idea, Parish?" Rebecca's voice asks, carefully neutral. Oops seems to have gotten on the pig's bad side, as one of the colours of its aurora are struck away. Unfortunately, the attack didn't seem to do quite as much damage as one would hope against a Psychic Type. The boar gathers up the remaining colours in its main, and launches them in retribution at Oops... but the attack goes wide, not helped by the smoke in its eyes. Boar is hit by Ominous Wind. Boar misses with Aurora Beam.

"Not terribly ma'am, but I don't know that I'll fare any better in the night sea. I've also had enough of being shoved around today... Hero, Thunder Wave, once more!" Parish unbinds Spirit Boost, and spends 2 AP to Power Conduit a use of Holding Hands from Hero into a use of Disable for Hero. "Oops, use Acid!"
(Pig is now Paralyzed with Confusion (Disabled). Oops moves to Range 2 for Acid.)

The boar awkwardly crashes into Oops, but hurts itself in its confusion, also seizing up. It's looking not too great now, but it also seems too angry to give up. Oops takes 27 Dark Physical damage from Pursuit. Boar hits itself in confusion and is Paralyzed.

Oops once again fires a debilitating bolt into the massive pig with its flaming mane, stripping another color away (Pursuit is now Disabled as well). Hero seems to finally register that this is a fight and not a pretty show of lights as one of the boar's tusks puts a crack on Oops' crystalline surface, and the Pokemon fires an improbably fast ball of lightning to roll along the surf and burst under the large opponent. (51 Electric Special)

With a second Pokémon joining the fight, it seems to be enough, and the boar finally slumps, its bright light flickering to a dull shimmer as it falls unconscious on the ground.
"Well... that could have gone worse, I guess," Rebecca says, wryly.

"I don't disagree. Thankfully Oops is very sturdy. Domes withstand impact very well from both an engineering and a biological perspective, and he's kind of the best of both." Parish inducted the downed Pokemon into a ball. Friendship could be attempted when it was less sore and cranky, or he could find somewhere larger to set it loose. Tiny forested islands would be awful for something this size. Parish examined Oops' injury with a little sigh.
"You're going to have to rest the remainder of the night buddy. You showed him though, gave him a big ol' timeout. I'll talk to you in the morning okay? Hero will go in the water with me so you don't have to."
