"No, no, don't get me wrong," Alissa says. "I very much want her to suffer, and am quite happy to know that she gets at least a modicum of what she deserves in the end... but I just worry, is all. That I might act different knowing what's ahead than if I didn't. And... in doing so, it means that things don't come to pass."

"...Hmm... I suppose. I need your help now either way, so I suppose the moment is all that matters. It is nice getting to talk with you like this. Dewford was unpleasant."

"I'll take your word for it," she says. "But I believe you. Nothing good came out of Dewford. And I was there long enough for it to still stick vaguely in my memory."
Alissa walks on in silence for a bit the town growing larger in the pair's field of vision, before asking, "Why? Why do you want my company? I understand my fighting skills, but my company? Nobody really wants me around. I see it on their faces. All I do is bring down the mood. I'm bitter, spiteful, and have been throwing myself at a nearly hopeless goal for the last however many ages. Hope only lasts so long."

"I knew you before and after this. When you were first changed and had committed yourself to this mission, and when you were finally free. I appreciate your stoicism from our first encounter, and your thirst for new experiences in our second. The third being somewhere in the middle gives me context as to why you eventually gave up on socializing at all. I am enjoying your company because you are my friend, maybe not yet, but someday."
Her brow furrowed. "To a lesser degree because I understand some small portion of the heartache you have been through."

Alissa gives a slight smile. "Y'know what, girl? That means a lot. It's been so long since I've been able to truly care about and fight for someone beyond me." She seems to have a bit more of a renewed sense of purpose. "Let's go help the city, and then rescue your girlfriend from that bitch."The pair move quickly to intercept the oncoming Pokémon. While some lesser 'mon have reached the city and fighting has begun, the colossus yet strides. Next to it are a pair of floating, many-eyed Pokémon, with what look like cannons for arms. "Which do you want?" Alissa asks, metal blade drawn. "Big guy or the little ones?"Map

"I'll clean up the little ones and then drop the big one. You can help a little if you feel like it." Beatrice teased playfully as Cumulus and Bylii hit the field. "I will be staying well away from all of that, with the double weakness. Bylii, we'll start with a Pollen Puff as you please, Cumulus... it might be time for some snow."
(Beatrice binds Iterative Evolution)
Bylii gathers up a ball of pollen and hurls it at the nearer Claydol, where it bursts. (54 Bug Special SFE)
(Speed 32, Speed 8, Speed 5)

The Claydol staggers, spinning around, but it rights itself before sand begins to pour of its arms, spreading over the area, swirling around. Cumulus seems to enjoy it, at least, shifting into more of an iridescent gem form. The other one looks to close its eyes and concentrate, glowing a little. "What nice weather we're having," Alissa snarks, though she seems to be unfazed by the granules. Claydol is hit by Pollen Puff. It's super effective! Claydol A uses Sandstorm. Claydol B uses Cosmic Power.

"Nevermind on the Snow Cumulus, let's go for rain instead, and follow Bylii's lead with a Weather Ball." Cumulus activates Drizzle, changing the weather from Sandstorm to Rain until the beginning of his next turn, then attacks the same Claydol with Weather Ball, though the ball of water detonates wide of the creature. (3 Vs. AC 2 Special). Beatrice raises a shimmering barrier of light in front of herself and squints with concern.

The Golurk stares at the field, looking at the two that attempted to hurt its compatriots... and targets the one that succeeded. A massive shadowy fist lurches out from the ground, and batters Bylli. Alissa frowns, thinking, before disappearing in a puff of shadow. Weather Ball misses. Bylli takes 52 damage from Shadow Punch after DR. Alissa uses Phantom Force.

"Eesh... sorry girl, didn't see that one coming either, let's keep on with a Bug Buzz." Bylii advances and flutters her wings aggressively, a drone physically distorting the rain pattern around her. (55 Bug Special, SFE.) "Cumulus we might have to prime a Clear Smog, be ready." Bee called over the noise.

The Claydol spins at the blow, buffeting around, but it still holds together and upright. It seems fairly perturbed, though, and summons rocks that it launches at Bylli, a state that its compatriot matches. The rocks are too much for the bug to handle, despite her best efforts to dodge, and she's knocked to the ground, unconscious. Claydol is hit by Bug Buzz. It's Super Effective! Bylli takes 54 damage and 2 injuries from Ancient Power Bylli takes 46 damage, an injury, and Faints from Ancient Power..

"We'll do another round of rain, anything to keep the stinging grit from making our lives worse Cumulus... Crassi you're up!" Beatrice released her ogre scorpion, the teen's tail taking aim at the injured Claydol. Cumulus fires a massive line of water at the Pokemon they'd been focusing up until then. (8 on an AC 4, for 65 Water Special) (Rain Persists a second round.)
(If Hydro Pump finishes off the injured Claydol, then Beatrice will attack B instead with Flash Cannon, either way it misses.)

Chunks of the Claydol are blown off, but it remains floating there, the insides almost glowing and shimmering eerily. The titan strides across the land, slamming a giant fist into Cumulus after gathering energy. It only has a moment to resettle before Alissa appears behind it, stabbing with her sword wreathed in shadow. "You've got something on your back," she states dryly, before removing her blade from the gash. While the undamaged top charges up energy again, the damaged one floats over top of Crassi, absorbing her blow, before it begins to flash... and shatters energy in all directions. A good chunk is blown off of the other top, while the Golurk is unfazed by it. Bea and her Pokémon are a lot less lucky, and while the girl has her metal skin, her Pokémon do not. Crassi snarls at the other one, seeming to take it as a challenge, though. Claydol takes 2 injuries and is Staggered from Hydro Pump. It's super effective! Golurk uses Prime Fury, getting Enraged and +1 Atk and Sp Atk CS. Cumulus takes 48 damage from Mega Punch.
Claydol B uses Cosmic Power. Claydol A uses Self-Destruct. Cumulus takes 61 damage and 2 injuries. Crassi takes 57 damage and 2 injuries. Bea takes 38 damage.

"Ugh... Crassi hold for Cumulus... Cumulus... another round of rain please, and Clear Smog the other... then spread. We can't afford another one of those." Cumulus blows a mist of fine particles over the second death-top, sapping away the power it had accumulated. (Clear Smog Cannot Miss, Claydol B has it's CS set to 0 and takes 38 Poison Special).
"Alright, now girl, give it all you've got! Night Slash!" With every bit of gusto and ferocity Crassi had ever unleashed in her time under Bea's command, she tore violently into the second construct. (84 Dark Physical, a critical hit.) Beatrice locks onto the Golurk.

The power fades away from the Claydol as the powder settles over it... but it seems to take virtually no damage at all from the attack. Crassi's blow is another story, however, taking off enormous chunks. The Golurk swings at Cumulus and pursues him... and stomps a titanic leg, shaking the ground, throwing up chunks into Cumulus and Crassi. Beatrice, thankfully, is out of range, and it doesn't seem to bother Alissa at all. "Probably good to try and make sure that other thing doesn't explode, eh?" Alissa asks, before swinging for the Claydol. With the furious hit made by Crassi, and the defenses that Cumulus drained away... it splits and falls, almost in the midst of seeming like it'd explode. Claydol is hit by Clear Smog. It's not very effective. Claydol takes 2 injuries and is staggered from Night Slash. It's super effective! Cumulus takes 22 Damage from AoO. Golurk uses Earthquake. Cumulus takes 45 damage. Crassi takes 61 damage. Claydol faints from Shadow Claw.

"Appreciated... I haven't been this taxed in a fight in a long time... so much rock and ground in one conflict." Bee visibly sweats as she recalls Cumulus, and sends out Limul. "Double Aqua Tail! Mark!"
Limul and Crassi go after the colossus' legs, while Beatrice aims for its head, three solid impacts hammering on the broad frame. (59 Steel Special, and 40 and 45 Water Physical)

"Well, at least we're close to a place of healing," Alissa says, as she watches chunks of the Golurk's armour get annihilated by the forces of the blows. It's still up, though, and looking rather irritated. As though hearing her complaining about ground... the Golurk gives yet more thrashes and stomps at the ground, causing cracks to appear much like on its body. Both crassi and Limul get battered around, Limul taking it far better. Alissa manages to open the gash on its body yet further with wrenching shadows. "You've got this, girl! Finish it off!"Golurk is hit by Flash Cannon. Golurk is hit by Aqua Tail. It's super effective! Golurk is Staggered by Aqua Tail and gains an injury. It's super effective! Golurk uses Magnitude. Magnitude 10! Crassi takes 76 damage. Limul takes 51 damage. Golurk takes an injury from Shadow Sneak. A critical hit!

Crassi, as Cumulus and Bylii before her, fell before the raw power presented against her. Beatrice again switched, locking onto another portion of the Colossus as Genesect hit the field. "I am quickly running out of options, and regretting my choice of offenses. Genesect, Techno Blast if you would. Limul, we'll have to make due with a Bug Bite."
Genesect does not disappoint, the vibrant blue beam and resulting shockwave flattening and freezing the grass around the insect as it is swept back and forth along the monster's front. (113 Ice Special, a Critical Hit)

"Target neutralized," it says simply, before the cannon thaws and powers down.
"...yeah, okay, that was pretty impressive," Alissa admits. "I could do with a cannon like that. Still, you should be proud of yourself. I've a feeling these things would've been rather deadly getting into the city."
Looking around, it seems like the humans have pushed back the Pokémon, and are just finishing off the last that actually made it to the city. "Speaking of... we should get you there, do you think? You look kinda beat up. Though, uh, admittedly, I'm not the best judge."

"I did just have a living bomb go off in my face. Metal skin does a lot for one's durability... that said I'm at less than half strength... and that isn't ideal for taking on Julia. Even if I'm desperate to be done with it already. I can't... afford a misstep, as much as delaying hurts." Exhaling slowly, she recalled Limul and Genesect after thanking them. "How frequent are these attacks anyway?" She asked as they started into Rustboro proper.
