"What's that? Fresh eyes, you say?" Yellow asks.
"...not like that," Rainbow says, sighing, before turning back to Bea. "Well, I'm glad. I always worry that I'm pushing you too much. So... if this has been helpful for you, it makes me happy. You've probably done good for me, too. Made me a little more confident. And a little more relaxed."

Bee giggled at Yellow's statement. Given how much she'd spoken about dissociating consciousnesses with him previously it only made sense he might mistake the saying for something else. "It means having a new perspective on things, you've been a big help with that." Then to Rainbow; "It is good that you can relax in this time, hopefully, someday... our future will have that too."

The rest of the day passes uneventfully. Bea gets her clothes back, ice cream is had in a city park at the insistence of Yellow, and it's just a rather chill atmosphere besides the looks that are sometimes glanced in their direction - they really are a peculiar group of people.
There's an early start to the morning, as it's a several day journey up to Fortree. But, it's not long before the first barrier to travel is reached - a wide river, across which is only a periodic Wailord Ferry. Or they could swim. But the ferry is free, and the beach is nearby, so it gives Bea a chance to do the last of the talking that she meant to do.
As the Sandygast is summoned, it sinks into the warm sand, stretching out contentedly.

Bee has a seat opposite it and sets the Pokeball out in front of her. "I know I interrupted a meal of yours, and scooped you away from your beach, I'm pretty sorry about that now. I brought you to a different beach so I could set you free somewhere you'd be comfortable, if that's what you want. Same goes for Nomus, the Wimpod you uh... became formally acquainted with after he stole my bag. Thanks for stopping him, I wouldn't have caught up to him on foot."

The Sandygast looks at her with a quizzical expression on its face. Well... maybe quizzical. It's hard to tell with the thing. But, it looks around, taking in the surroundings of the new beach it finds itself on.
There's a lot of staring. At Bea. At the ball. At the beach. At things that don't begin with the letter 'b'. But, in the end... it inches away, and begins to sink into the sand, eyes fixed on the Trainer.

"I hope you find the company that you were looking for, and that it makes you happy." Beatrice watches those tiny eyes slide down and away as Silica makes himself at home. Bea's thumb holds over the button of the Sandygast's ball for a moment, when she's sure it's decided, she holds the button down until the coding burns out, a little smoke issuing from it. Bracing a hand on her knee, she rises and gives the Pokemon a little wave goodbye. "Goodluck Silica, thanks for everything."

There's a small little pseudopod of sand that stretches up and mimics her wave, before the Pokémon retreats into the sand, the shovel on its head the only indication that it's there.
"You... feeling okay, Bee?" Rainbow asks quietly, walking up to the Trainer.

"Yeah, I can tell he's comfortable, and that this is what he wanted. Warm sand pressing in against him from all sides, the nearby crash of the ocean. Being out in the sun. I'll talk to Nomus when we reach a port city, don't want to give Silica another chance to eat him." Taking a deep breath of the sea air, she examined the angle of the sun. "There'll be other Pokemon, lives that I touch or that touch mine, you know? I'm not here to force my views on anyone, just to learn what I can. Silica is his own Pokemon again. Someday, I'm hopeful, Quartz and Rattus might join him. In the end, for me it was a trivial loss." At that, she held up the now broken Pokeball.

"Alright... just wanted to make sure." She puts her hand on Bea's shoulder. "I know there've been a lot of changes over the last few days, you've challenged things that've been your views your whole life. That... can't be easy, especially not to have any certainty about it."

Bee's hand settled gently over Rainbow's, and she quieted for a moment, though it was clear she was reflecting. Pokemon, hybrids, an uncertain future. Sapience and free will, wishes and time travel, friendship. Fate, and the immutability of time.
"In metallurgy, a form of chemistry, substances are added to the base material while it is molten to make the final product carry a greater tensile strength. The result, when tempered and cooled, can accomplish so much more." Bee explained in analogy, not quite able to find the right words. "There is a lot being added to me, the pressure and temperature are high. The technique is amateur but I have great assistants. I should be fine Rainbow, it is stressful in a few ways, but what can I do about it other then weather it?"

"There are... a lot of words there that I don't really know," Rainbow says, laughing. "But... I get the gist of it. I think."
"We'll support you. Well, I will, at least. Can't speak for Yellow. But... well, you don't have to do all of this. You can just go, live your life. I could try and figure out something else. If you don't want to weather it."

"You're not getting rid of me that easily." Bee retorted with playful indignance. "I'm in this till the end, they have seen to my every doubt with this last display. Besides," She shrugged. "Dewford is over and behind us, it's doubtful anything will compare with it."

"Dewford is just one place..." Rainbow says, solemnly. "Are you prepared to possibly experience a full world of that? A place where every Pokémon is like that?"

"...A lot will change still, between now and then. I have plenty of time to brace and prepare for the worst. I'm going, unless you intentionally leave me behind. In which case, I might be a mix of offended and upset. I'm not though, no. Dewford was a great long endurance trial, the likes of which I would rather not repeat."

"Well, guess I don't have a choice, then," Rainbow says, teasingly. "Going to have to leave you behind." She winks, before quickly adding "Kidding! I wouldn't do that. You're my friend, and friends don't do things like that. Even to try and protect them."

"Like I'd let you leave me here." Bee declared boldly, a hand splayed across her collarbone. "I'll have you know, that I could time travel too if I tried hard enough!" Grinning all the while. "It would just take a small eternity of research and probably Yellow's help, because that would certainly be a scientific miracle."

"Ah, yes, of course," Rainbow grins, "how could I be so foolish as to think that a mere timestream would let me escape. You'd find a way to catch up to me, and make me regret leaving you behind. Or Yellow would just spite me." She winks.
"Time's outside my domain..." Yellow helpfully reiterates.
"Do you only speak up when it would kill the joke?" Rainbow asks, laughing.
"Look, I just don't want you assuming I can do things that I can't."
"So, that's a 'yes', then," she teases, "given that the whole joke was about casually doing impossible things."

"There's always the precedent for eternal life where Alissa was concerned, or perhaps having you expand my mind beyond human limits. I'd find a way, but speaking of the eventuality of -being- in Mossdeep, I certainly hope the purification machine isn't going to be something I have to construct myself. No idea where I would start without extensive chromatography and reactivity tests."

"I don't imagine you'd want eternal life. Humans aren't built for that..." Rainbow says, quietly.
The conversation's interrupted by the sight of the giant blue ferry-whale making its way along the top of the water, approaching the platform where one can board it a little up the beach. It's a free service, and, before long, the group finds themselves floating across the deep, rapid, river.
"I... don't know how I feel about this," Rainbow says. "It feels... different than on the Lapras. That felt like I was riding something, this just feels like, I don't know, being swept away. There's nothing to cling onto, just... being a huge platform."

"That's fair, but you never know what Hybridization will bring, among other things, you know?" Boarding the whale, the pushed at its back gently with a foot. "It is certainly different, even from the Salamence that has clearly defined boundaries. This was the Pokemon family I mentioned when we were looking to cross before, they're gentle giants and surprisingly light for their size."
