Ravnica, a vast sprawling metropolis built with ornate gothic structure, incredibly intricate aqueducts, sewers, roads, and a constant flux of infighting between their various guilds. Ravnica is considered the largest city in existence, and could in itself be considered a country, and thus, is organized by various groups of people, each with their own distinct philosophies, moralities, and goals in life. Together, they formed the various guilds of Ravnica, and strive to maintain their collaborative municipality. However, the relation between the guilds is shaky at best, as each serve as a check and balance to each other, causing much discourse amongst leading officials. The various guilds have gone through much in the last thousand years, the mitigation and division of the Gruul tribes, the assassination attempt of Mat’Selesnya, and the constant regulation of the Orzhovian church through Azorious, but there seems to be a call of destruction heard by heralds and prophets of the various clans, inspiring a notice for unity. You serve as one tasked with the responsibility with identifying and thwarting that potential destruction. You serve as a planeswalker for your respective guild, a wizard with the capability to walk across planes of existence, use great strength, magic, intellect, or whatever skill you may be blessed with, and use powerful cards to summon allies and resources in battle.
Ok so we’re basically doing magic the gathering meets pokemon. You don’t really need to know much about MTG to participate in this game, just know that all items and pokemon you use will be in the form of cards. Want to send out Jolteon? You’d pull out your Jolteon card and cast it. Want to use an X Attack? It’s also a card! And you play the card to use the X Attack. Other than that, most of what you need to know can be found via the guild guide, and by asking me. We aren’t doing a perfect representation of Ravnica because frankly the lore for Ravnica is ALOT, and I am a very lazy man person, so it’ll just be our own adapted version of Ravnica.
Regarding the various guilds of Ravnica, it should be clear that no guild is necessarily good or bad. Being a member of the Cult of Rakdos doesn't inherently mean you're an over the top demonic jester who loves to kill for entertainment, and being a member of Selesnya doesn't mean you'd necessarily respect and protect all living things. Morality is vague here. Same with allegiences. Sometimes what a guild means when they say they're "allied" with someone is that they just aren't currently trying to destroy that particular guild right now,
GUILDS OF RAVNICA
Azorious Senate
House Azorious was founded by Azor the first, and serves as Ravnica’s lawmakers, courts, and judges through the Azorius senate. The members of guild Azorius are honorable law abiding citizens of Ravnica, and serve as the bureaucratic sovereign of the city of Ravnica. The Azorious value blind justice, peace, and the status quo, and implement those beliefs into the rules and regulations they create in the name of maintaining peace through law. Members of House Ravnica seldom use brute force to settle their issues, and instead rely on intellect and pacts to maintain authority and control. They do not allow foolish emotions to alter their judgement, and strive to maintain consistency and neutrality within their actions.

Boros Legion
While the Azorious senate and its fellow guild members may preach for justice from atop the comfort of their precious steeples, the Boros Legion are the strong and loyal who actually get blood on their hands as they enforce the laws of ravnica. The Boros legion are powerful, honorable knights who serve as the policing force of Ravnica. However, while Azorious is the guild of absolute law, the Boros Legion serve for absolute justice, and are perfectly content to break the laws when needed to see justice established. Some members of the Boros legion aren’t even recognized members of Ravnica’s military, but rather rogues and thieves who may better provide access to area’s outside of the law, and better bring about a world of justice. Boros are above all, a guild of passion, a passion to see justice administered under any costs.

Selesnya
Mat’Selesnya is the living embodiment of nature. She strives with a belief that natural life is the only life worth protecting, and with her guild, she and her followers protect the natural life of the city of Ravnica. Selesnya values the concepts of selflessness, nurturing, and spirituality, and maintaining peace and life within Ravnica. Those of the Selesnya guild tend to enjoy the sweet tranquility of a forest, and have put much effort to building Ravnica around nature rather than through it. For Selesnya, peace, life, and community matter above all things, and those who prove to be counter to their ideals shall be removed.

Orzhov
The Ghost council of Orzhova are the spirits that rule over the church of Orzhova, which serves as the primary religion. Their service to the guildpact of ravnica is to be the city’s chief religious organization. While some see their teachings as a faith revolving around community, selflessness, and piety, many apt minded individuals would recognize that high ranking Orzhovians only care for one thing, money. The Orzhov serve both as a place of worship, and also as a money lending agency, and are often involved in most, if not all significant deals of Ravnica. Many of their followers are held by their debt to the Orzhov, loyal only to the incredibly wealthy and greedy abominations and ghouls that hold their capital. However, with their questionable morals comes a promise of great wealth and grand structure, alluring more and more into their ranks

Izzet
The Izzet are a group of passionate, bright minded tinkerers, engineers, and even some magicians, who are charged with attending to civic works such as water supply systems, sewers, heating systems, boilers, and roadways. However, few seldom stay focused on that mere task. These are especially creative individuals with unfortunately small attention spans, who one week stuff a lunaroc into a mech suit because why not, and the next week invents a flying machine that shoots flamethrowers and tacos at your enemies. If ever there were a guild that embodied a mad scientist let loose in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory, it’d be this group. Above all, the Izzet league value the search for knowledge, and just happen to pursue it with a stronger than normal passion.

Simic
While the Izzet follow a sort of creed to pursue knowledge and innovation with reckless abandon, the Simic Combine follow a more focused goal; to preserve the natural world, even as Ravnica’s cities continues to grow. While similar to the Selesnya in its pursuit to maintaining life, the Simic’s approach is far more invasive. Selesnya values natural, unaltered life, while the simic use magic to coax new morphologies from existing creatures, or to combine traits from multiple organisms into one. The Simic recognize that both them and the Selesnya seek a synthesis between natural and artificial systems, but view the Selesnya as simply ignoring actual progress, while their own efforts are built around synchronizing both systems. Many members of the Simic have also been known to be apothecaries, and have created many of the medicines that are found in modern cities.

Dimir
In modern Ravnica, the guild of Dimir is generally considered to be a fairy tale used to scare children at night. However, higher members of various other guilds know that the guild still operates through an incredible series of rankings, secrecy, and underhanded deals. The Guild provides espionage, smuggling, counterintelligence, and other general services of deceit to all other guilds under the guise of guildless mercenaries. The guild is so secretive, even its own members rarely know who exactly they work for. Many who are unfortunate enough to be aware of the Dimir only know them through a network of middle men serving leaders that they have never met. Overall, most of Ravnica only think there are 9 guilds, and believe Dimir to be a myth. Dimir may be seen as evil, however, it should be known that every guild at one point or another has employed the Dimir to handle some sort of nefarious situation. For those that wish to play Dimir, please do not list that under your character information, as most of the party wouldn’t know that. Simply PM me about how you wish to be a Dimir character and we’ll take it from there.

Gruul
Selesnya and the Simic have been tasked with the preservation of nature with Ravnica’s constant expansion. The Selesnya manage to do so through peaceful compromise and harmony, the Simic do so through innovation and biomechanics, and then there’s the Gruul, who choose to preserve nature by smashing the city to rubble before it could possibly do any more harm. The Gruul are viewed as the more tribalistic guild amongst the guildpact, and have been the cause of much of the conflict within Ravnica, but their presence in the guild is just as vital as any other guild. With their inclusion, the guild promises to keep their violent antics to a minimum while in return, Ravnica promises not to expand any further than it already has. The Gruul are charged with maintaining and protecting the wild, and value power, nature, and determination. However, due to Ravnica’s constant expansion and corruption of the Orzhov, the Gruul have had little to no official power left in the guilds, and have been broken into various smaller clans with different perspectives on the best approach to limiting Ravnica’s expansion

Golgari
The Golgari Swarm is a collection of various organisms, who believe life and death are both natural systems in life with no intermediary break. The Guild tends to behave like a hivemind, a group of organisms with one singular goal, working in reluctant tandem. The guild’s use of necromancy allows them to repurpose expired creatures into entirely new and incredible designs that more sensitive individuals may refer to as “abominations”. In regards to their service to the guild, the Golgari serve as sort of gravediggers. They process the dead and decaying in Ravnica, sometimes through proper funerals, and sometimes they just harvest the parts of the expired they like for their own unholy manifestations. Many view the Golgari as disgusting underlings that handle their garbage for them, but few can handle the might of a concentrated Golgari assault.

Rakdos
While many would view the Cult of Rakdos as extremely selfish, violent, and insane individuals, they would be dismissing the amount of positive integrations they bring to Ravnica, most notably, entertainment. The Cult of Rakdos hold pleasure and fun above all others, and have no moral limits when it comes to achieving a sense of joy. Acts of cruelty for the sake of entertainment are no rare occurrence to Rakdos aristocrats. They manipulate and extort the vulnerable in their gambling parlors and clubs, humiliate citizens in public for a cheap chuckle, and some are even so bold as to break into the homes of the Azorian senate to draw mustaches on all their prized paintings. Yet despite how much chaos they bring, few could say they absolutely despise the Rakdos after seeing a Rakdos circus or Opera.

CHARACTER CREATION
Your Characters shall be level 15, have access to 2-4 pokemon. If 2, they are both at level 35, if 3, all level 30, and if 4, one level 30 and 3 at level 25. No Psuedos or Legendaries of course. Since this is the MTG universe, almost any imaginable character race can be played, just try to set your build to reflect their race abilities if you can. For example, if I wanted to play an angel, I would take the Wind Runner class to gain the ability of flying. Also since this is a universe built around creative and unique wizards, you are allowed to build 2 elemental classes on your character, and there is no restriction to using elemental classes with mystic senses classes. You do not need an elemental connection to gain an elemental class, but you do need mystic senses to get a mystic senses class. Should people be concerned that a certain combination of classes may be too strong, let me know and I may request it not be played just for the fun of everyone else. You will all start with a basic survival kit (sleeping bag, flint, tent, fishing rod, waterskin), 5 great balls, 10 basic balls, 3 super potions, 5 potions, 3 revives, 4 full heals, and 10,000 gold (units of money).
We will be using the basic core rulebook, Game of Throhs, and DPDOS. No blessing or the damned just cuz it’s too confusing for my poor baby brain.
You can submit up to 3 characters, but of course, only one can get in.
Example Races
Angel, Goblin, Elf, Cat Soldier, Centaur, Dwarf, Dryad Gorgon, Kor, Merfolk, Minotaur, Naga, Ogre, Satyr, Siren, Thalakos, Troll, Werewolf, Aven, Kitsune, Loxodon, Nezumi, Rakshasas, Rhinofolk, Wolfir
