"Oh, uh, are you sure?" Thel asks. Quick mood swings. Usually upset or angry or whatever lasted for a long time... this is different. "Well... I'm glad. I was feeling really bad for making you upset. That's not why I'm doing this..."

"That's not why I'm doing this either, but it is a bonus." Muku chirps rather sadistically. Making the enemy lose their cool and cow in the face of danger was it's own victory, one that many of the older Staravia savored. To scare a foe with just bat of an eye and a bad bird reputation, ooh! There was nothing like it.
She squeezes Mmip tight and looks to the Gym Leader with eager, bright eyes. "So! So! What treasures do you have? Do they include knives? Morty had a knife and Muku thought that was cool."

Choices, choices, lots of choices. There were some cute Pokémon (and some not-so-cute ones) milling about... but something else had caught his eye. A lovely pink dress, reminding him of the Kimono Girls... it's a symbol of power, of rank. Part of him says absolutely he should not touch it, it's just for the ladies to show their status... but it's being offered to him, right? Well, why not take it?
"Uh... I think I'll go for the one with the, uh, the better badge," yeah, that sounded better, like he wasn't doing it just for the clothes. "And the clothes and the... whatever that sparkly thing is."

Muku did not see knives, which was a point of disappointment, followed by acceptance. I mean, there didn't ALWAYS have to be knives. "Muku thinks... I'll take the one with all the items." She says, pointing the assortments of bottles and Pokéballs. ""Items can be helpful, so if items help, then Muku wouldn't mind them at all."

Tara seemed a bit displeased at having to go through the brightly painted place more to get to the rewards that awaited them. Ignoring the case with clothing without much thought after initially seeing it. A little bit of time passing as she looks over the case of items and at the choice of pokemon that had been pointed out to them. "I will choose... taking a pokemon," she stated nodding with certainty. Her choice being the feline looking pokemon.

After Whitney parts with her things, she gleefully ushers the trainers from the gym, bidding them safe travels in high spirits. It really is wild how quick her emotions change, but then, she is surprisingly young for a gym leader. On the way from the gym, a young man in coveralls, a green plaid shirt, and a straw hat steps in their way. "Scuse me ladies, been looking for someone that could manage Whitney's gym to look into something for us down at the Daycare. See, we had another site further back in the woods once, more natural that way, but it got overrun. We lost some prized stock, and a couple staff went missing out that way. If you could check it out, we'll be sure to make it worth your while."
(Demolished Daycare Raid unlocked - Rewards include vitamin'd normal types with egg moves, minor shinies, grooming kits, egg warmers, planters, berries, with a Normalizer (Normal Type Sync or Move Sync) as the clear reward).
Gain 5000 PYEN, 1 Milestone, and 1000 PXP Each.

Thel, happily wearing his spoils of war, leaves the Gym letting the newly evolved Hope, wearing her spoils of war (which Serenity didn't much like - there wasn't a good place on her fur to attach the badge) roam freely. She comes back with a Pokéball, different in colour to the others he had. Huh, neat, they come in a lot of different patterns. The red ones look better to him, though, than this bee-coloured one. He mostly looks to Muku and Tara, since they were the ones addressed. Makes sense - and they were definitely the scarier ones anyways. Hope gets boosted to 30, Serenity to 26.

Muku emerges from the Gym a more confident girl than before. She didn't evolve or change physically, but she could feel a certain surge of energy and power through her nonetheless. Muku was getting somewhere and for once she could feel it. That sense of arrival and dawning of a newfound strength and power; there wasn't anything quite like it. As Mmip could change, so could she. So she would.
Ohoho. And there was so much she could teach her Pokémon now. She couldn't wait to show them.
Those kind of thoughts however, were imminently distracting, and were it not for Thel's Deerlet in a headlight stare she might not have noticed the strange hat man approach with his problems. Couldn't he solve these sorts of problems on his own? No, no. That wouldn't do. The weak looked up to the strong, and what the weak can't handle, the STRONG would.
"I think I could lend a hand, but only if my plock likes the idea too." Her eyes glance over at Mmip. "Rest might be nice too, since a bit of my team got banged up in the Gym Battle."

A breath of relief leaves Tara as her eyes take in the less loud colors once they were out of the gym. She was carrying her new team member's ball in her hand looking to the Litleo with a thoughtful expression.
Hearing the group being addressed, she brings her attention to the man offering to repay them for their help. A momentarily look of confusion as she processes his words. At Muku's response, she nods in agreement on letting their pokemon recover first. Queen certainly had been roughed up, and Snips could do with a break too. "It's something that can be done... But I need to get some stuff and have my team rested." She stated matter of factly.

"O' Course, O' Course, thank you ladies, take yer time. If'n you need directions or yer ready, the Daycare's just south'f Goldenrod. I can give you directions to the old place from there!" With that he excused himself, leaving you all free to explore the city or shop as you saw fit.

"Well, uh," Thel ventures nervously, still enjoying the swish-y sensation of his spoils, "the Gym gave us some money, and so... do you think we should look around town, see what they have? I'd like to get something for Serenity for doing so well in that last Gym. Maybe some more food, too." He looks at Tara. "Uh, oh, I'm not sure if you've had to deal with money yet, Lady Tara. Lady Joy explained that... basically, you do stuff, and you get the little coins and stuff, that can be exchanged if you have enough for stuff. It's neat. Means you don't need to go out and do or find everything yourself."

Watching as the man leaves them for the time being, so that they could have some time for themselves, she would turn her attention to Thel as he explained the currency. "Ah, that'd explain why Gold panicked when I ate some before we came here," Terra commented looking at the coins in her hands. "There wasn't a lot of time before he brought me here, so I didn't get a chance to use what I had," she adds.
After a moment she rolls her shoulders some and turns towards the Pokemon Center. "First I want to drop off my two that need rest before I explore and trade this for stuff," she comments with a nod of confirmation to Thel's question.

Muku nods. "Sensible. Drop off Battle Bug, take Mmip victory shopping. I have only gone shopping once, and it wasn't bad because there weren't many human. If shopping here is the same as shopping there, then I thinks I will be just fine."

Shopping here is not the same as shopping there. There are many human.
Goldenrod, the shopping metropolis of Johto, houses many attractions for those with money.
There is a location advertised as "Togapi's Playpen', sourced from the local daycare center. They take the eggs that trainers don't want and care for them until they hatch, either adopting out the resulting Pokemon or easing them back into the wild to let their instincts take over once more.
Another, "Marx's Minerals" deals in rare stones, fossils, and jewelry. A pharmacy for all of your supplement, enhancement, and medical needs, as well as sprays to keep hostile Pokemon at bay. A grocer that has some pre-cooked foods, though they are considerably more expensive then Thel could make the same on his own with some trial and error. A bicycle shop adjoining a general sporting and thrift goods store, and so on.
(Run it by me and I'll yea or nay it, but if it's listed in the book it is probably here. Might deny some stuff based on your badge count.)

Thel feels a little awkward with the sheer number of people around, but it's not that bad, all things considered. He's mostly worried about doing anything that would get them caught out...but nobody really seems to be paying any attention to what others are doing. So, that helps. Well, except for some people trying to sell things - they very much pay attention to people. Most of it is just stuff he wouldn't know why he would want, but he does exchange money for some nice smelling scent that the person tried to spray on him. It's a comforting thing, he finds, having an aroma in the air.
For food, he mostly just buys some flavour-spices to dash into what he already has, rather than anything already made. He's been enjoying figuring out the art of cooking... a lot of these things look good, and far beyond his current skill, but he makes a mental note to try and remember them for when he thinks he could make them work. Though, right now 'edible' is good enough.
A little bit of restorative shopping later, he does find himself in the jewelry shop, looking with Serenity over all the shinies safely behind cases. He's lived near rocks all his life, and never seen anything like these. She seems to like the look of the red one - and he agrees, it matches her pelt - so he picks up that one.
All of the shopping... it makes him feel good. Like he's fitting into this society, this whole place that he knew nothing about before a few days ago. It's nice. ...even if only a temporary feeling. There's still so much more he has to learn, before he can find a place in the world.

Muku separates from the group long enough to experience the true horrors of mall shopping; pushy sales people.
Perhaps they imagined that she was a young girl, eyes full of light and sparkle. Perhaps they noticed the large amount of pocket cash weighing down her ill fitting pockets. Regardless of what they might have thought, this sweet, innocent girl would inevitably turn towards them with loud angry beeping and wide arm movements, before she continued on. At least two are left in her wake, confused and terrified of why anyone would react so terribly to smell good. But Muku doesn't want to smell good. Muku wants to smell like Muku, which is the scent of anger and elation vacillating in a torrid expanse of birbs.
After scaring off her latest assailant, she ducks in just long enough to enter a clothing store. A nice one actually, filled with sporty clothes and nice, simple designs devoid of great complication. Complication was not Muku's strong suit after all. Muku was just a simple Starly who got turned into a human who now suffered periodic existential crisis.
This is to say of course, that she found sweatpants. Light, breezy; easy to wear. After a bit of haggling and maybe theft, she leaves the store much more fitting casual attire, black pants with red stripes up the leg and a cool, darkly colored sports jacket to match over a plain white tee. If only she could get her HAIR to match. Then it would perfect. The hair folk however, seemed even pushier than the smell-gooders, and Muku could not abide by them.
To her credit, she did try to abide by them. That's how she knew she couldn't. Mmip could, and because Mmip could, Muku could, but without further evidence that they didn't secretly hate Starlys, she just could not. That was a fact, and a good fact at that. An acceptable phrase about the truth. About life even. Everything made sense. Everything except the bikes.
She had seen bikes before this. Campers were fond of bikes and bikes made humans deceptively fast. Even if they couldn't fly, they could certainly cruise across the earth as fast as any other Pokémon might as long as it weren't something like a long rat or any other manner of fast land creature like a neigh fire.
So she found herself before the door of the shop and shoving it in as she had seen others do so. Akwardly, Muku makes her way to the counter and places both hands upon it in a wide, menacing manner. "Muku- I want a bike." She says coldly, never breaking contact with her quarry. "How does- Do I, get a bike?"

When Thel hands Serenity the bright stone, the fox lets out a grateful yip before becoming a being of pure light. Swelling half again larger, a luxurious fan of nine tails spread out behind the golden furred fox. Though she might have only stood to Thel's knee before, now her head was chest height. The deep brown eyes had given way to a more intense red. She blinked at him a few times, before butting her face into his middle, the new mass of tails behind her disrupting the store and seeing the pair escorted out in a measure of good humor by the clerk.
The propreiter of the bicycle shop is a portly aged man with round spectacles and a patient, slightly distant expression to his face. Horn rimmed glasses in a shade of brown give him an owlish appearance. He considers Muku passively for a moment, before stroking his barely-there chin and leaning back. "Tell me young lady, how passionate are you about owning a bike?"

"Oh!" Thel says, in surprise and delight. "That's why you liked that!" He laughs. "I think you're a bit too big to be carried around now, though. But let's go get you some food to fill that growing belly, and we can do some brushes and everything." He gives the fox some pets down the neck, before thanking the clerk as they're ushered out.
He goes to find a nice place to sit down, before working on carefully brushing the fox's smooth fur, and giving her food to nibble on.

Muku's fire melts as the man turns. Beady face. Wide rimmed, horned glasses. Piercing eyes.
Owl.
Or at least, owl face. He wasn't an owl, unless he was secretly an owl wearing man flesh. This was a possibility she would have to consider going forward, as she more cautiously broaches the subject with an absolutely blistering beepstorm.
"Muku doesn't know. Muku- I think, that bikes are really weird. And M-I haven't ridden a bike before. So, so. That would be something cool because if you can go fast, and like zoom, it's like flying and flying is an experience that all birds can agree upon despite you being a bit chunky and not being able to fly, because you're an owl and you are fat, but that's ok because Muku isn't afraid and by Muku I mean me, because I'm nervous and I haven't gotten the hang of pronouns which are also hard like talking to people because I'm a person and there were other Muku's because birds are unimaginative, but you might have an imagination and that's a good thing because you could maybe think about this in a way where Muku- I am not terrified of talking to you, geez I need to work on that because I want a bike because it's like flying, because if Muku can go fast then maybe she can, gah doing it again, I can go fast and feel the wind like I used to and that would be kind of nice. BAH!"
She takes a breath.
"So maybe. Is wanting to go fast passion?"

This is her first time dealing with so many humans in one space. Its apparent she isn't such a fan. More accustomed to having very few others in her territory back home, it helps that she still has quite the intimidating aura about her to attempt keeping some personal space about her being. Mumbling to herself about how it was hard to believe the amount of people that occupied this place.
Terra would walk in the same general direction as Thel in the beginning at least, getting a grasp of how the trading of money worked. Following suit at the shop with medicinal supplies in purchasing some recovery items for her team. She lingered at the jewelry and stone shop while the other bought an item for the fox pokemon, memories of how delectable those shinies were before she became a human. Teeth and jaw no longer strong enough to crush them. A shake of her head to bring herself back to the present, and moving to try her hand at this shopping on her own.
Her exploration found herself looking at clothing that were suited for traveling more so than what she had been given, and at a shop that had items to help pokemon be better at combat.
