Her telling the bundled creature to not struggle seems to go unheeded, as it just keeps shaking around all the harder as she begins to try and extract it from its sticky cocooning. Underneath the thinning silk, it looks to be a blue-and-purple chitinous creature. The spiders themselves take no time in rushing down towards the intruders, prioritizing the fleshy Limul over the metal orb that is Solenoid, and biting down into the shrimp with fangs and injecting it with poison. It's not the most effective strategy, but probably the best that they have. Limul takes 10 damage and is Poisoned from Poison Sting. A critical hit!

Bodies and fangs descended, Limul cast a sideways glance at the spider trying to make a meal of it. With an annoyed squeak, he turned and launched a large stone into the skittering horde. Solenoid similarly released a large pulse of electricity from its magnets, though against the sheer numbers it seemed substantially less effective. Beatrice continued to pull, tug, and rip at the webbing over that small body. It was impressive the tensile strength of the weave given the size of the individual strands. Spiders were incredible creatures.

Pulling some more on the threads reveals a head with pincers on the front and bright blue eyes. It seems to be looking at Bea suspiciously, chittering along. The rock that Limul tosses is easily enough to take down one of the individuals, with Solenoid's powerful shock weakening more. But, there are still some left. Enough to try and drain Limul's energy... even if it's not particularly strong. They seem to hope that he'll succumb to the poison. Swarm is hit by Smack Down. Limul takes damage from poison. Swarm takes an injury from Thunder Shock. It's not very effective. Limul takes 9 damage from Absorb.

"Easy, don't bite the messenger please, these gloves are meant to be chemical resistant not pincer proof." Her efforts continue, freeing a little of the strange creature at a time. The battle continuing to rage behind her with little to no attention. Another wave of electrical power and a flurry of slashes from Limul's forelimbs.

The flurry of attacks seems to convince the last of the spiders that, no, this really wasn't a battle that they were going to win, and it's probably better to just... live to fight another day. The one that they'd been putting all their might into wasn't even really seeming weakened. So, they scuttle back into their trees, and leave Bea to her extraction work. Which turns out to reveal a scorpion-shaped Pokémon with a grabby claw on its tail. It peers up at her, and back at the web, and seems to keep moving to make sure that it's actually free. And probably to try and get the last bits of web off. You gain 40 EXP for winning.

"Ah, I see. You are likely a poison type too, so they couldn't really make prey out of you properly, but that must have been really awful being wrapped up like that. You uh... want to come with me? Out of the woods and away from all the spiders? Can't promise it'll be a glamorous trip, or the best hunting grounds, but you'll be looked after and have friends." She offers it a Pokeball.

The scorpion makes a harrumphing chitter noise, as it focusses on picking all the extra trappings of webbing off of its chitin, using Solenoid as a mirror. Which causes more frustration, as the Magnemite keeps trying to orbit the Scorpion to get a better look at it. It seems to devolve into a shouting match, as the scorpion squeaks as Solenoid, while the Magnemite makes irritated buzzing noises back. It seems like the Scorpion has a fairly high opinion of itself, judging by the tone, and its attempts to keep itself pristine.
So, needless to say, it rather seems to be ignoring Bea.

"I see..." Limul is recalled, and she takes Solenoid's magnets firmly in both hands to hold it still for the Scorupi to preen in. "Two large compound eyes, heavy chitin plating, three claws. big, strong biting mandibles... you must be quite the apex predator." Bea slowly let go of Solenoid with one hand, to help the scorpion pick bits of webbing off of itself.

The Skorupi tenses up as Bea first touches it, but eventually relaxes into a churring noise as she helps to preen it better than its own tail could manage to do. Solenoid doesn't seem to particularly enjoy being used as a mirror and not being able to move around, but it grudgingly acquiesces.
The bug certainly seems to respond much better to Bea's strong, confident assertations that it's the best - or maybe just her more confident attitude in general. It wouldn't do for a predator to ally itself to something weak, would it? It peers up at her, seeming to size her up.

"I know Solenoid, I know, but it is just for a moment, you can travel out with me the rest of the way through the woods." She could feel every little vibration and noise through the magnet Pokemon, once again offering a ball to the Skorupi. "I helped you out, you can help me out, it's a give and take sort of thing, and eventually, other people will see just how impressive you are too. Not here in the woods, but in the league. What do you say?"

The bug squints, looks her over again, and then eventually gives a curt nod, deigning to be tapped and sucked in to the sphere. Solenoid seems a lot happier now that the scorpion is gone and that it's able to roam freely again, too. The spiders seem to be very much quiet and holding their breath in hopes that Bea leaves and they can start rebuilding their web and rescuing their fainted brethren. You caught a Skorupi! Level: 13 Nature: Patient Gender: Female Moves: Poison Tail, Poison Sting, Knock Off, Bite, Pin Missile, Acupressure Ability: Sniper

Content with her deepwoods excursion, and newest acquisition, Bea leaves the spiders in peace, opting for safer fare minus webs and ambush predators. Rustboro waited on the other end of the woods, as did new adventures in science and the league both. Solenoid, as promised, was left to float and observe as it saw fit.

It takes a little bit to find the trail again, but Bea's eventually able to get back to it, Solenoid in tow. She rambles along, heading towards the Rustboro exit. It all seems fairly uneventful, the predators steering fairly clear of the trails, while the prey all being rather skittish (especially since much of the friendlier stuff has probably already been caught recently).
It's only when approaching near the northern exit that something happens. Passing a clearing, a girl in a green dress appears some distance away. Not from out of the woods... Bea could swear that the stranger wasn't there a moment before. But she's not able to register much before the other collapses on the ground.

"Oh jeez!" The teen goes sprinting into the glade, with Solenoid in tow. She'd taken a few basic first aid courses to provide support for her Pokemon, studied the composition of common medicines and how to apply them in ways that were less troublesome and un-intrusive. There had never been a stress test for any of it until today. Kneeling beside the fallen girl, she began looking over her for sign of injury or physical exhaustion, pulling curatives from her pack.

Approaching the girl, Bea isn't able to see any obvious signs of physical trauma on her. She's extraordinarily pale, and seems very much exhausted with some faint breathing, but it doesn't seem like she's injured. Taking a closer look at the girl in green, Bea notices that she appears to be an Altered - antennalike protrusions swoosh up from beneath her yellow-green hair, and looking at her back reveals a pair of delicate gossamer wings. It seems like there's the possibility that she might be part insect.
Holding off at first on a restorative patch to see if the girl's condition changes, it soon seems like it will be unnecessary, as her skin regains some colour, and her breathing returns to normal. After about twenty minutes, she stirs, and brilliant blue eyes flutter open, looking around before focussing on Bea.
The stranger gives a wide grin, before sitting up and looking around, just appearing to be taking in the forest and laughing. At least until Solenoid hovers towards her to get a closer look at the now-awake mysterious person. As soon as the girl sees the Magnemite, she lets out a loud scream and tries to jump up, but falters and falls back down to the ground.

"Whoa whoa whoa, easy, easy..." Beatrice makes a placating gesture, before returning the magnemite to it's Pokeball. "It's just a Pokemon, you don't need to be scared of it." A pause, and she looked the girl over. Nearly human, she wasn't immediately sure how much the girl understood. "Just rest for a minute, breathe. We'll get you to town when you can walk." Reaching out, she rests the back of a hand against the girl's forehead.

The girl blinks. "...is that how it is?" she seems to ask to herself, rather than Bea. Her accent's kinda weird. Almost familiar, but not quite. "I wouldn't have even though thought... but, I guess it makes sense." Her forehead is cool when Bea puts her hand on it, before the girl scoots back.
"Look, okay there, wrangler," she says, holding her hands out, palms forwards. "No need for all the touchy-touchy. I feel fine. Well... okay, maybe a little less than fine. Lot less. Never been that bad before. But... I will be fine. I feel better already." She takes a deep breath, and exhales contentedly.
Well... the girl obviously can understand her, and talk, and all that. So, that's good. And she doesn't seem to necessarily have a firm grasp on the situation. But, not hostile, at least. And seemingly willing to converse.

"Wrangler...? I've never been called that before." Sitting back slowly, Beatrice folded her hands in her lap. "My name is Beatrice LaBrasta... you're an Altered right? I've never really got to sit and talk with one before. Is that what's got you unable to stand right now? What's it like?" Not necessarily the most relevant questions, but certainly ones that had drawn her attention forever and a day. "How'd you make it out here when you can barely stand? You're not hurt."

The girl seems to be waiting for more when Bea mentions her name, eventually saying "...you don't know me, right? It's not like we're close. I, uh, guess we're just being cavalier with core names here." She sighs. "Why not, nothing else is normal. Should have expected that. I'm Chrysanthemum Rainbow."
"I am part-Pokémon, if that is what you mean, LaBrasta, yes. And... I suppose you could say that's what's exhausted me. Not really because of who I am - though I guess that's part of it - but because of what I did. I spanned way longer than I expected to." She winces. "But, gonna have to do it again eventually. At least now I know I need a bigger boost. That's how I got out here. Because I felt that here was when I needed to be."

"You're coming off a different kind of weird then Grandma, she used to make up weird words and concepts on the fly too. I'm getting maybe a third of what you're saying. If I have you right, you came here from a place that was not here, but didn't arrive by walking? What's 'spanning'?" Her head was spinning with questions. "Wild question, but do you know anything about a solid gold egg that disappears at oddly specific intervals? That is the only other thing in my life that has come off as strange as you, and that all started a couple days ago."
