The bees seem to have been expecting him to have done that, as two fall into pace on either side of him, while the other chases from behind. The insects don't seem too interested quite yet at attempting to properly attack the running boy and Pokémon, instead chasing them through the rough swampy terrain. Any slowing down, though, is met with an angry bee swooping towards the straggler, though.
In time, though, the chase - though it seems like a lot longer than the scant few minutes it probably was - leads them towards a structure in the distance that Donovan is familiar with. Another hive amongst the trees. This may be close enough for his liking, and the bees could be faced off here, their work done... or perhaps bringing them closer to the hive might instigate a clash between the insects.

"Right so things are about to get a little chaotic" He calls out to Brent as he runs "I'm gonna pull them close enough to start a battle between them and the Combee. Rose and I will try and pick them off before things get too harsh and Dandelion will try and find another Hive to add to himself. In the meantime if you wanna go off and look for the Yanma near here I think we might be ok"
With proper positioning Rose would be able to strike two of them at a time and Donovan believed that Rose would have better accuracy than he did. Not to mention if Brent does end up going a ways away then Donovan could assume Roserade form and back up Rose and Dandelion even more. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though
"Okay, uh, if you think so, I won't argue about not being around a bunch of angry bees," Brent says, from far back. He looks around, before pushing through the brush with his dog.
The buzzing of the Beedrill grow louder as they and Donovan approach the hive, and that seems to trigger something in the Combee within - there's suddenly a flurry of activity as a dozen irate Combee - one with the telltale red dot of a female - emerge from the hive to face off against the other insects. Donovan finds him and his Pokémon to be in between the two groups - it's not clear whether they might ignore him in favour of the others if he stays there, or if they'd attack to get him out of the way first.

Waiting until the last moment, Donovan moves to the side, and directs Rose to hold still near him. The moment two of the Beedrill line up without the Combee in the way, he hopes to have the Roserade strike them with his newfound flying tricks.
In the meantime he quietly commands the grass type "Alright Rose, we might be outnumbered and this might go poorly, but we've been against worse. Let's keep them distracted so Dandelion can attempt to grow."
There's not much of an opportunity for Rose to strike without risking the Combee, as the Beedrill get stuck in, flying right into the middle of the mass of smaller bugs. It's a buzzing blur, but the Beedrill - while stronger - are vastly outnumbered, and have just expended a lot of energy in the freezing cold. In the end, while several Combee are visibly wounded, only two have fallen into the swamp, unconscious.
The irritation of the bugs seems to have not abated, though, as the red-dotted Combee jabbers at Dandelion, who, surprisingly, shrinks backwards. The wild bee sounds to have a very threatening tone, and is acting very aggressively. It's not moving forwards, though, looking mostly like it, and the others, are going to stand their ground. At least until Donovan either attacks or leaves.

Donovan point at the female harrasing Dandelion and nods to Rose in the air near him "Right so I don't really want to give in to a bug, especially not when it's bothering our bud over there. So Rose, it's time to test our new tricks. If we take out the leader the rest should either scatter or fall in line under the next strongest, which I believe just might be our Dandelion."
Cracking his neck Donovan smirks "So let's see what you can do now!"
The Combee deftly dodge around the blades of air, Rose clearly not quite used to his new shape yet. The female buzzes even more insistently, and moves back as the males close ranks in front, all looking angrily at Donovan. There's rather a lot of them, and the hive behind is also beginning to buzz as well.
The insects get distracted, though, by a bark and a burst of flame that doesn't actually do anything - being from far too far away - but shoots through their ranks. Brent looks over at Donovan, calling "Got too worried to go too far. But looks like you've got them riled up real good. I suggest you probably want to catch what you've come here for quickly and book it, Dan." There's a bit of a worried look on his face, but also the hint of a grin. "You've got guts, I must admit. I like it."
Donovan does notice the two Fainted Combee laying on the ground, a little away from the slightly-backed up placement the swarm's currently occupying. It probably wouldn't be too hard to grab them and run. Or he could try catching another, or possibly Fainting it and running with three. But taking too long would probably mean more bees than any of his 'mon could handle.

Again someone had to come and save him. Over and over he was being saved, unable to do anything for himself. Even without Mica nearby to coddle him he had managed to find someone and then get in enough trouble that this person he had just met already needed to save him. It was humiliating. How could he manage to save those who were trapped when he couldn't even save himself?
He dashed forward and grabbed two of them before yelling out to Rose "One last shot lets go"
Rose responded with another blast of air as he looked somewhat confusedly at Donovan
The blast of air easily knocks out the nearest Combee, and the mass of drones moves back a little bit in order to re-assess the situation, as more begin to pour out of the hive. It's buzzing with activity now, and clearly the bees inside are peeved. From the entrance, amidst the exiting Combee, at least one jeweled crown of a Vespiquen can be spotted.
But, Donovan has his prizes. Two unconscious Combee, waiting to be joined to Dandelion, with a third within easy reach. Collecting them, he's able to make a scramble towards Brent, who's busy getting Rusty to light a tree on fire. The flames aren't particularly large, due to the dampness, but, as he explains while they make a getaway "the bees'll be more concerned with making sure the flames don't spread than with chasing us. Thankfully it's not Beedrill. They just wouldn't care."
After several minutes of sloshing through the forest, they come across a bit of a grove, where there are still some flowers growing, and it's fairly dry. The bees, thankfully, have left their pursuit. "So... I see you got a stack of prizes there," Brent chuckles, as he gestures to the armful of Combee. "Sure you don't just want to start a bee farm?"

Donovan sort of laughed "Maybe someday I'll settle down and start a nice little flower shop with an apiary, but I don't really have the time right now"
"Thanks for the save. Rose still wasn't used to his new form, and I was more than a little greedy. I was travelling with someone until recently who would have bailed me out, and I need to get used to not having that"
Before they had a chance to wake up, Donovan laid out the Combee and gestured towards them while looking at Dandelion "Alright buddy, time to grow"
"Ah, don't worry," Brent says, "happens to the best of us. Get a little too overconfident, and then *bam*! Knocked right on our rear. Besides, I didn't do much more than give you a moment to think. No way Rusty coulda taken down a swarm like that. He's a lover, not a fighter." He chuckles as he pats the Arcanine, who gives him a slobbery lick in return.
Dandelion moves up to the unconscious Combee, and awkwardly flips until he's parallel to them, the combined bees briefly glowing each time, before fusing. Once more (well, more than once), the bee has grown. The Hive Combee buzzes contentedly.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
