The Gardevoir takes a step towards Blake, serenely, with a gentle grace... before letting out a piercing siren's cry, beautiful yet painful at the same time, causing both him and his Lurantis to involuntarily stagger away from the Pokémon, wincing. Gardevoir disengages. Blake takes 34 damage from Hyper Voice. Lurantis takes 19 damage from Hyper Voice. Map

As much as Thoron agreed with Blake's appeal, they couldn't risk waiting for the Pokemon to listen. With a heavy heart, he directed Metio to charge the Gardevoir again. As the much heavier Golem rolled, Thoron crept forward. Thoron uses Focused Training (Orders) on Metio, Lurantis and Celesteela (Swift: Battle Conductor)
Metio uses Rollout on Gardevoir (ending his turn around K5). AC4 - H8YxJHCs1d20+2 DB5 - 1d8+41 Physical Rock
Thoron shifts to G3. 1d20+2·1d8+41

Silas sees a blast from Catling go wide and sizes up his options. If he can't reach them normally, he'll just have to... take a shortcut. He takes a step forward, during which he turns pale, translucent, then vanishes. Catling moves 1 square east and uses Flash Cannon on Xatu! AC 2: I got a 1!
Silas starts using Phantom Force!

Both of the green psychics absorb some of the blows... but not enough. They're strongly leaking energy now, but clearly not about to give up the fight. The Xatu in particular turns towards Casmere, flapping its wings to create a blade out of thin air, and striking just as the psychic energy from its prior attack builds up and strikes. The not-bug is hurt, but not yet out. Gardevoir is hit by Rollout. Xatu is hit by Slash. Lurantis takes 37 damage from Air Slash. Lurantis takes 24 damage and an injury from Future Sight.

Things were looking rather one-sided. It almost felt a little too easy to Blake. Probably just general unease with the ancient pokemon looming behind him. Time to make quick work of the screeching one. Shift to L5

The Gardevoir makes to let out another cry as Blake approaches, but he's too quick, and instead all that happens is that his blow connects and the Pokémon flies apart into a cloud of energy. Gardevoir Faints.

Casmere had been badly wounded by the combined strikes of claw and mind. He pauses a moment and the wounds seem to fade. The energy gathered from the dim lighting or residual power from the Gates' weakening of reality healing his injuries. Casmere uses Photosynthesis Recovers 63 HP

Thoron continued to circle the fight, trying to maintain a moderate distance. Metio closed the distance from Xatu, launching a sharp rock at them toward the end of the charge. Thoron shifts to K3 and uses Focused Orders on Metio.

Silas returns to normal space, appearing behind the Xatu and dragging a mass of spectral energy with him. He thrusts both hands forward in a double-palm strike and channels all of the energy into the blow. Just in case the bird is still living, Catling follows up with a volley of sharp rocks, intent on clipping its wings once and for all. Silas appears at P10 and uses Shadow Force! AC 2, flanking: 8 DB 11: 66 physical ghost
Catling uses Stone Edge AC 4: 14 DB 10: 57

The bird seems to stare at the space for a second where Silas flickers in a moment before he does so... but it's not any use, and the ghostly energy causes it to let out a shrill shriek that abruptly cuts off as it dissipates into energy. Without the psychic types to sustain it, the shield around Eschaton looks to noticeably falter. It seems like it's still holding for now, but Silas estimates at the rate he can see it unravel that it will break in a minute or two. But there's enough time to take a quick breath. Xatu Faints.
You gain the benefit of a Scene change, and can use healing items that you choose to.
The shield flickers once more... and then for the last time, it vanishes. But, emerging from within its confines, the pink gremlin looks to be more vibrant than before. Stronger. It floats up, higher, before glowing. In a... different way than evolution. A murkier, deeper light, almost as though it's out of phase with reality some. And it grows. Grows to the size of Silas' newest Pokémon, with six arms that emerge from its torso and... float, disconnected from its body. In each hand, it holds a golden ring, which it tosses forwards. Three of them contain nothing but indistinct purple swirls... but three of them clear to show other scenes. A city, metal buildings tall but ravaged. A bluish-black Pokémon with far too many mouths is gnawing at things... but turns to barrel for the ring, thudding onto the ground. A plain, destroyed by fire. A red doggish Pokémon leaving trails of fire behind it, who similarly beelines for the scene, landing in front of the Trainers. A clear mountaintop, with bolts of lightning striking from cloudless skies, leaving the vegetation charred. A giant blue creature, with clouds draping from it, flies through the air until it spots the ring, soaring into the Under. The area around the battlefield almost seems to get a little more indistinct, as the newly empowered Eschaton lets out a roar. Map

The time for the shield to break passes agonizingly slowly. It was almost like that feeling of missing the last step only with much higher stakes. "Why is it that nothing today has been simple and straight forward? It's almost like fate wants to inconvenience us."His snide remarks are met with the emergence of Eschaton and with her transformation, several other new combatants. Somehow he didn't much feel like cracking a joke while staring down a giant leopard-cloud. He releases Teris beside him. "Well...I suppose I'll have to wish us luck since I think we'll need it." Teris to C5 Init 25

They couldn't afford to waste limited supplies, and Thoron's Pokemon hadn't been too injured... Hopefully. Which left him waiting and watching their next fight approach. He suggested, "It could have been worse. Imagine if Eschaton had run away while we were distracted."Thoron stepped into position, Metio just ahead, "If anything, fate has kept things simple today: We see the threat, and we stop the threat." That was how one raised morale, right? Thoron deploys to either C3 or C9 (taking the half opposite Silas) Releasing Metio to D2 or D8 based on the above choice.

"It could always be worse. Proper luck would mean a chance to make things better." Left unsaid, of course, is their tendency to make everything worse. Silas looks to the other three rings for a moment and wonders if they'll have to fight another set before Eschaton. It'd be nice if they didn't, but he knows better. The real concern is in the destruction in the surroundings. If they're indication of the outside world, then cleanup will take humanity generations. Silas makes a noncommittal noise at Thoron's encouragement. "As long as that's really all there is to it."Silas starts at C2, init 5.
Sera released at G1, init 20.

Sera leads the assault, shooting a pink beam at the massive target in front of her. Even as she does, she eyes the surroundings, ready to evade anything too threatening. Sera uses Moonblast on Guzzlord!

Sera will Teleport out of any Crit or SFE hit.

See a threat, stop a threat. If only it could be that simple. Blake didn't really have much opportunity to think on it at the moment with the giant threats in front of them. And of course they had to be stopped so there was a later to think about them. He gestures to Teris and the pair of them perform a less than coordinated assault. Terris snaps at the sparking foes flank with freezing jaws while Blake strikes at the other. Blake to J7 Acrobatics on Thundurus Ac 2 vs 3 DB 11: 57 Flying physical damage
Teris to J5 Ice Fang on Thundurus AC 3 vs 5 58 Ice Physical Damage

The cloud oni nimbly evades the attacks from Teris and Blake, before retaliating with a roar and a burst of electricity. But it shares a similar fate to the heroic attack, as both of its targets are able to slip between the prongs of lightning that jump out. Teris in particular seems fairly relieved. Sera's blast seems to be severely damaging to the mouth-beast, but it's still up, maws gnashing. In the meantime, the fiery dog leaps into action, dashing around Blake to position itself around him and Teris. It roars, leaving the pair feeling woozy, before erupting in a huge column of flame. It sears both Blake and Teris with terrible ferocity, severely hurting even the aquatic-oriented Floatzel. And the dog just seems to get even more nimble after that... Teris misses. Blake misses. Guzzlord takes 1 injury from Moonblast. It's super effective! Thundurus misses Teris and Blake with Discharge. Entei uses Pressure, Supressing Blake and Teris. Blake takes 150 damage, 3 injuries, and Faints from Eruption. A critical hit! He...probably wants to use Dodge. Teris takes 75 damage from Eruption. A critical hit! Entei gains +1 Speed CS from Speed Boost.

Of course that was all there was to it! Probably. Thoron was at least sure that these Pokemon needed to be dealt with, as strong as they were. So, he spurred his Golem on, and Metio launched a sharp rock at the cloud Pokemon before running up to the fluffy one. Thoron stayed right where he was. Maybe to study that resilient... Walking mouth? Thoron uses Focused Orders on Metio, and Chronicler on Guzzlord. (-1 AP)
Metio uses Stone Edge on Thundurus (should be Range 7) and shifts to G7. AC5 - mkTEzZz31d20+2 DB12 - 3d12+43 Physical Rock 1d20+2·3d12+43

While his Pokemon fights the mass of mouths, Silas turns his attention to the one that just exploded in flames. It can't be allowed to do something like that again, so he sends a spectral uppercut into creature's ribs. Silas to D3

Silas is able to score a solid blow on the dog, causing it to roar in pain and whirl towards him. In the meantime, the mass of mouths, clearly in pain and flagging, rumbles towards the source of that pain, charging to land its mass on Sera... who just briefly blips away when it lunges. The mouths look very confused that she didn't up eaten or smashed. Much similar to the confusion from the dog, as Blake neatly dives out of the way. Silas hits Entei. Guzzlord hits Sera with Heavy Slam for 66 Damage, which is ignored because Teleport. There's a glow from above the battlefield, from the form of Eschaton... and it seems like the area around the battlefield goes fuzzy, parts of it glowing... before it resolves itself into a volcanic wasteland, heat emerging from cracks on the ground. The oni floats above the lava, but Blake finds the ground beneath himself become tenuous - he really needs to move if he doesn't want to get burned. One of the mouth-monster's feet is also where part of the lava's appearing. Map
