"Um." Nori bites his lip. "I think your navigation's a little off, Yue. We're in Kanto. This is Pallet Town. Well, mostly it's the research center now but Pallet was a pretty small town even back when Professor Oak worked here. Still a long boat ride but not all the way to Johto."
He rubs the back of his neck. "If you meant to be in Johto I think you missed the border. It's a ways off..." He glances at the sky for a moment, trying to figure out which way east is, then points. "That way."

As the day continues and people start filing back in from the reserve, Professor Larch addresses all of them, stating that the rest of the day should just be used to train with their new captures or just hang out and relax, as the next day will be pretty trying with the tournament.
"Also, while everyone's here, I might as well let you all know the system for supplies. The league has frowned on the 'betting' type nature of the old system, so they've decided to axe it, but also make sure that you'll all be taken care of. Starting tomorrow, every day you'll be getting a few basic supplies and pokeballs. These add up over time if you can't visit a center, so you'll never lose out on anything. If you want to change it or add things, you can make a request of the league. For example, if later on, simple pokeballs don't cut it, they may do less balls but stronger ones. Or you can request for things like crafting supplies if you can make stuff. There will also be big supply packages after badges, so look forward to those."

Svetlana takes the remainder of the night to ease her new Snorunt into the harsh, disciplined training regimen that she worked out with Fennekin. (XP Training to both for the day; Fennekin levels up)

Stella spends most of the day trying to make up to Heatmor for tackling it and stealing its Durant-KO. It seemed to like food, like most things, so she tried to scavenge for berries or other edibles. Maybe see if she couldn't try and bring out its Hidden Power as well!

Nori's focus in training, as usual, is on taking hits and striking for opponents' weak points. He spends a lot of time today feeling his way through with Baobab, easing his new recruit into a training routine he knows is rather brutal and getting to grips with the capabilities of an Exeggcute. According to his Pokédex, Exeggcute learn to generate psychic barriers fairly early on, but it doesn't seem like Baobab is quite there yet. (More rambling about strategy under the cut.)Exeggcute seem pretty defensive to Nori, looking at the moves they've been known to master for themselves. They learn a lot of useful tricks but it seems like it takes a while for them to tap into the power of its types. On the other hand, Baobab's current tricks include loud noises and launching his constituent members at enemies, as well as hypnotizing enemies into sleep, all of which are very useful. Nori has never been much for leaning into status moves but it looks like Baobab may give him an opportunity to try the strategy out. Nori has also still not quite settled on whether Baobab is singular or plural.
Nori knows his strategy is generally quite demanding, and can be tough on Pokémon, but Baobab seems to take to it well, to his relief. He'd have been quite willing to let Baobab go if he hadn't been up to the challenge, either back to the wild or to another trainer - forcing a Pokémon into it would have been cruel - but it seems like it's not going to be a problem. Ordira gets some exercise, too, of course, but Nori's much more familiar with how much she can take and she's much more used to his rugged training routine, so with her it's more a question of keeping things up and giving her some more exercise. Nori also takes the opportunity to send a message home to his mom, since he was feeling too crappy to do it last night. He knows if he doesn't give her at least semi-regular reports she's going to start worrying and he's going to get a mailbox full of anxious requests for information. Crunch: Nori applies EXP training; Ordira gets 10 EXP, Baobab gets 8. Nori tutors Cruelty onto Baobab. They both get Focused and Brutal training and get 1 Taskmaster Injury so they're Hardened.

The rest of the day (and night) goes pretty quickly. They have some decent beds set up for everyone, and sleep comes pretty easy. The next morning everyone wakes up to the smell of breakfast. As well as the news that once they've eaten to meet up outside as the tournament is about to start. But for now... food! Very delicious looking breakfast food, at that.

In the morning, Svetlana works her Pokemon extra hard in preparation for the tournament. Snorunt gets fully introduced to the concept of 'harsh but effective', and both it and Fennekin are shown how to maximize the impact of their attacks. After this, they get a full and proper breakfast. Nothing too heavy, considering they're about to be fighting a whole bunch, but something light and filling. Svetlana eats a similar meal to what she gives her Pokemon. She wants them to feel like she is participating in the training in a way as well.
(Brutal/Focused Training x2, Hardened w/ 1 Injury x2, XP Training x2. Snorunt is tutored the Cruelty Ability.)

Whatever training Melissa does is kept strictly offscreen away from the prying eyes of other participants, to better preserve the advantage of surprise. At breakfast, she sits next to Yue and remarks, "I forgot to mention yesterday, your friend Shea said to say hello."

Food! Stella-Ares certainly felt that today were starting off well. She quickly made share that she and her pokémon got their fair share of the food. Then she stood on her toes trying to make herself as tall as possible to see if she couldn't spot any of the nice people she had met yesterday. Hmm...

Gwen took her breakfast with her as she watched her pokemon wander about. They required "larger" alternatives to regular food. She shoves eggs into her mouth as Jasmine the Onix swallows a large boulder. She was a bit nervous, surprisingly, but she was really really wanted to win this. After foods, it was time for some quick training before they are called to compete.
(Both pokes Agility Trained, XP Trained, and XP distributed.)

"...Shea? I dost not believe I hast ever met one by the name of "Shea"..." Yue says, as she finishes eating half of everything on her plate and feeding the rest to Omnoms. For a few moments, she looks deep in thought as she tries to figure out who Melissa could be talking about, until a sudden realization causes her to pale even more than her pasty complexion already was. "U-Unless, you mean to say "Shio"...?"

Melissa affects a casual shrug, although she's watching Yue's reaction with keen interest. "Shio, that sounds right. I knew it was an Sh- name. Odd person. You know her, then?"

Yue suddenly grabs Melissa and starting patting her down. "A-Art you all in one piece?! No missing limbs? No wounds of any kind?" Once she's sure that there's nothing wrong with Melissa, she gives her chest area one last grope pat for good measure before backing off, regaining her composure and smiling like nothing happened. "Good. Twould appear that Shio has deigned not to harm you. So? Did Shio say anything of note?"

Melissa slaps the offending hand away. "Yes yes, I'm perfectly fine. She said, let's see... 'blah blah, cryptic bullshit, creepy warning, tell my friend I'm watching her.'" The doctor affects a high-pitched voice that resembles Shio's only tangentially. "Paraphrasing, of course. But nothing of substance. Started by asking me if I knew where you'd gone - well, she didn't say you at first, but obviously that's who she meant - but backed off on that pretty quickly. And then she tried to hint that you were hiding something interesting, as if I didn't already know that." This with an indignant sniff. "So, who is she?"

"She is...my childhood friend." Yue says, obviously about to say else at first, but switching at at the last second.

"Your childhood friend who follows you around dropping suggestive hints to strangers?" Melissa prods. "C'mon, details. How come she wants to know where you are but doesn't actually want to talk to you?"

"Nothing. Sure." Melissa scoffs. "If you want to keep your secrets, fine, but fair warning: if one of you ever stops giving me the runaround and tells me what's going on, I'm siding with that one. You understand?"

"Muuuuh...Fine! She killed Ho-oh and took its place, then nearly killed Lugia, which got away and gave its power to me instead! Art though satisfied!?" Yue shouts, sick of trying to keep her mouth shut anyways.
