"I know they wouldn't want something like this," Requiem spits at Blake. "And I have done nothing here." She looks at the man, who's shifting more uncomfortably into the kitchen, then at Silas. "Least of all anything to the 'owners'. These were empty before I moved in. Like me." She shakes her head, laughing. "I still am, perhaps. And, yes, I do have a source of Pokémon. The largest source of them all. The Under. I thought you would have known that. Have they really taught you less and less?" She 'tsk's. Thoron's rock misses its shot boulder, as does Thoron's own Pokéball, but at least Casmere hits, causing a screech from the mannequin as gashes are left on its otherwise pristine body. Silas takes advantage of the opening to launch a bolt of shadowy energy at the thing... but it just dissipates as it touches the monster's skin, leaving the creature unharmed. Silas can almost see the thing's devilish smile, even on its blank face, mocking him... before it turns back to Casmere, and lashes out with one of its nimble legs at him. It's clearly stronger than it looks, because it sends the not-bug flying back through the air, bleeding energy until it dissipates and returns to Blake. "'Winning' are we?" Requiem asks. "I don't know about that."Blake hits. Requiem and Electivire are Enraged for one round. Metio misses with Stone Edge. The mannequin takes an injury from Leaf Blade. Thoron misses with his Pokéball. Silas hits with Shadow Punch. It has no effect. Casmere takes 48 damage, 1 injury, is pushed 2m, and Faints from Mega Kick. Map

"You don't need to lie, I can see the Psychic traces. Bare minimum you did some mind reading and maybe some old-fashioned manipulation. Unless you have some input on the situation?" The last sentence is directed at the man in question. If he's not been brainwashed, then he can speak for himself. Meanwhile, Sera fires another blob of pink energy at the electric beast, then retreats to a safer distance. Sera uses Moonblast on Electivire! AC 2: 7 DB 12: 55

Sera's blast flies true, and the Electivire staggers, before coming back with a crackling punch that seems to absorb the last of the ambient electricity in the room. The Gardevoir, having evaded the last fatal attack, is unable to do so again, returning to energy, and to Silas. As this happens, the man moves towards Requiem. "Yes," he says, seeming much more sure of himself. "I believe I do." He clenches a fist, which glows with a light similar to that of a Pokémon dissipating before shaping itself into a pink-and-grey lance-like appendage... which he proceeds to thrust through the center of Requiem's chest, the ruby-coated tip briefly protruding out of her front before he retracts it. "N-neph…" Requiem gasps, clutching the wound with a hand. "Why...?""Your humanity has corrupted our purpose," the man says, his features beginning to flow, hair lengthening, becoming red; features softening; matching her height. Silas can see that there's some psychic contact happening, too, coming from the man. "The others have become soft. Complacent. The city is not the only problem. The people are too.""You... bastard...""Why yes," the spitting image of Requiem says, mockingly, one hand still slick with blood. "You are." 'She' turns towards the Technicians. "I suppose I should thank you. She was too strong-willed for me to take enough to impersonate her before. I would have had to go along with them, if not for your help to distract her and break her down. Enjoy the rest of your lives, knowing that." Reaching over with her non-bloodied hand, the new Requiem strokes parts of the circle, letting out psychic emanations. As she begins to disappear into the wall, she says to the two Pokémon still there, "Kill them all. Including the mongrel if she's still alive at the end."The bleeding Requiem collapses onto the floor, in no fit state to do anything, but the last two Pokémon, weakened though they are, don't seem to be ready to give up the fight yet. Electivire takes an injury from Moonblast. Sera takes 47 damage and an injury from Thunder Punch, and Faints. Electric Terrain fades. Requiem is no longer able to battle...

There were a lot of questions worth asking right now, but their only source of answers was currently dying after her... betrayal? Their objective hadn't changed though, and these last two Pokemon were still in the way. They were also close together, allowing Metio to shower the both of them with rocks as he steadily advanced. Thoron also took a moment from guiding his Golem to study the girl-turned-Pokemon-turned-turncoat. Thoron uses Chronicler (-1 AP) to record a Pokemon, uses Focused Orders on Metio, and shifts to P8.
Metio uses Rock Slide on M3. This should target both the Electivire and the "Girl" and the poor table AC4 - aRMP83JN1d20+2 (Flinches on 17+) DB10 - 3d8+42 Physical Rock damage
Metio shifts to P6.[/spoiler1d20+2·3d8+42

The rocks launched from the Golem are powerful indeed, and careen into the remaining two Pokémon with such force as to be able to dissipate them into energy. The only one left of the foes that began is the prone form of Requiem, gasping on the ground. Mannequin Faints from Rock Slide. Electivire Faints from Rock Slide.

As soon as Nephilim has left, Silas rushes toward Requiem. He applies pulls out a fast-acting treatment and applies it as he examines the wound. He hit the center of her chest, so with luck, there won't be any damage to the heart or aorta. The restorative should help with bleeding from the lungs Depending on the damage to the spine, there might be a chance? As he works, Silas speaks through gritted teeth. "Like hell you're dying like this..."Silas uses Stay With Us! and a Hyper Potion on Requiem.

"No, don't bother..." she says, weakly, pushing Silas' restorative away. "Save your medicine, you need your strength. You have to go, have to stop him. The city will fall either way. But you have to make sure the people within do not fall with it." She weakly chuckles. "Who would have thought... those that took everything, I need to rely on them." Shaking her head, she looks back up at Silas. "The answers to the lies, the truth that has been concealed... it lies in the Under. Not where Nephilim resides. But close. You just need to look." Her breath is a little bit shorter now. "D... do you understand? Will yo... you go?"

No sooner had the betrayal been performed than the battle was over. Leaving Blake to wonder what the next call was. Following seemed hazardous but they were almost obligated to. When else would they get a chance to find out more about Nephilim? But they had Requiem, he winces as he notices the wound, for now at least. "So you want us to just not try and follow the guy that attempted to murder you and is presumably highly dangerous? Shortly after you were trying to kill us?" A sigh of frustration escapes his lips. She must be telling at least part of a truth. There's not reason for her to protect Nephilim. "We need to know more. What have you set in motion? Where is this lie?" More questions clamor for attention but Blake stamps them down. overwhelming her limited time with frivolous questions wouldn't help. He applies a potion to his own rent flesh, "The Under hides secrets and we are blind. What is this threat and how can we stop it."Used hyper potion on Blake

"No, no..." Requiem says, "Do follow him. I know you can. It's how my sister died. He will lead you close. Just he is not the answer itself. That lies at the top and the bottom." She coughs. "I have set nothing in motion that was not already moving. I have just tried to speed it up. When all is said and done, the city will be destroyed, and the people and Pokémon within will be freed. The Council and Technicians have kept the cage locked for far too long. They hold the keys..."

Thoron was listening as he (slowly and perhaps slightly amateurishly) administered healing to his fallen Pokemon. Trying very hard to not point out that they had asked Requiem about all of this before certain developments, he latched onto something urgent. " The Council holds what keys? Nephilim is planning to attack and take them?" Using a Revive and a Hyper Potion to restore Lowe to maximum health, while there's time.

"Not... not literal keys," Requiem says. "Though, in a way, perhaps. They control the means to leave the city. But... Neph has no intentions on that. He will try and kill those in power, destroy the means of production. Once all the inhabitants are gone, and the city lies destroyed... there is nothing stopping the Pokémon within from leaving. I would rather... both people and Pokémon get out, though."

"We would have followed him without you asking. Nephilim wants to destroy humanity. We're not great, but I still have to disagree." There are many questions Silas would like to ask here, but there's no time. He medical and ghostly instincts are in agreement on this. "Will we find any allies on the other side? And... what do you expect to find outside?"After the woman dies, Silas moves on to treat the rest of the team. They took some heavy damage from that one, so it'd be dangerous to bring everyone back up now. First Aid Expertise on Sera, Radiant, and Casmere. They heal one injury and are restored to full health. "You might... if... if you hear them out... if you... agree to work with them," Requiem says. "as for what's.... what's outside? The rest... of the world..."
Her breathing gets more ragged, and she fumbles around in a pocket, pulling out a capsule that Silas and Thoron recognize as being one that contains things like prescient powder. "At the very least... I'll be able to join my family again." She tips the entire vial into her mouth, and gets a half-pained, half-serene look on her face as she begins to glow, from the inside out, before fading away into energy like a Pokémon. All that remain are her clothes, and the vial that clatters to the floor.

Blake struggles to process everything that is being said. The city was going to be destroyed? And there was no way to stop it? He absentmindedly applies a revive and restorative on Radiant as he thinks it over. What else could even be out there? The stories about what was outside didn't even agree. He still wasn't even sure if he believed her but he didn't get a chance to ask any more questions as she faded from existence.
"Ahem. So, how do we go about following? Is there some special way to go through the portal or will we have to find him some other way." He scrutinizes the wall that Nephilim had gone through. "Unless you think we need to report in but the clock does seem to be ticking. He can't have gotten too much of a head start."

All the time they'd spent chasing Requiem down - twice! - and nothing to show for it but a used vial? Nephilim had to know what was coming... But first, Thoron answered, "It responds to psychic activity. All we need to do is repeat what Nephilim did, and we should be able to resume pursuit."
"I think we should follow him. Whether what Requiem said was true or not, giving him a chance to recover would be foolish... Trusting any of Requiem's former allies would also be foolish."

Silas continues his doctoring, reviving Chlori and patching himself up a bit more. "Yes, following is our only option here. Omega, can you record this process for us? It'll be useful to have the code saved." He had left Sera out of her Pokeball while working on everyone else, so he just directs her to the proper sequence once everyone is ready.

"I can see what I can do," Omega says, as Sera traces the pattern.
She finishes following Silas' instructions, and the group soon finds themselves swept into the wall...
...and out into a cold, cavernous area. Lights near and give the area a dim, inconsistent illumination, and buildings and structures tower up - some reaching the ceiling, others not. The air is stuffy, though thankfully non-toxic where the group is. It's clear where they are. The Under. The area around is scattered with metal detritus, in relative chaos. The teleportation circle is housed on the surface of one of these.
"Caution," Omega says, "I am currently experiencing some interference. Uplink with command has been severed. It's a similar feeling as the prior mission we had where I was incapacitated. If this continues, I may be forced into standby mode."
The warning is no sooner delivered than another voice pipes up - Requiem's, as she steps out from behind another piece of metal. "Hmm... well, this is awkward. Did she manage to send you here before she died? Unfortunate." Requiem shakes her head. "Well, I must say that you're rather persistent. So, out of respect for that, do you have any last words?" Silas can see and feel that as the other is talking, they seem to be trying to probe his mind.

Blake stood curiously by as the Gardevoir worked her magic. He'd been curious how the previous portal had worked and he had a chance to find out. Still, the whole process of traveling was less than pleasant. Having your surroundings suddenly shift made his head spin, almost like the times he had been decked in training. Thankfully he hadn't been hit just yet but the sudden appearance of Requiem errr Nephilim was an unpleasant surprise.
Oh. And Nephilim was starting off with threats. That was good. Meant that he was nervous... or overwhelmingly confident. Hopefully it was the first one. "Final words! I've always meant to have something prepared for a moment like this. Though I think I'm a bit too persistent to die just yet. After all, Requiem couldn't stop us. I doubt your second hand powers will be able to stop us either. We are after all professionals. Protecting the people of this city is what we do."

In agreement with Blake, Thoron ignored the offer to comment, "You failed to even deal with her properly, and you expect us to feel threatened?" More important than idle threats was that there was heavy interference somewhere in the area, most likely some sort of Electric Pokemon... Not that he could see it. "Just what are you playing at? Trying to kill the only people who would work with you, scurrying away when we have the advantage, and now acting as though you have the situation under control... Do you actually think you can escape us, much less defeat the Technicians?"

Silas fails to keep the distaste off his face as he sees Nephilim try to read minds. Wielding that power so readily, so soon after acquiring it? Someone like this wouldn't hesitate to create another Lethe. "You're free to try, but where does that confidence come from? How many humans have you killed? How many Pokemon have you absorbed? And it's not like you have to kill us. Surely a plan capable of toppling the city can deal with a few humans."
