"It seems we're decided then!" Lithal said with a smile. "My name is Lithal Abella. It is a pleasure to meet you all." He bowed again, this time to the group. In the background, Sickler approached Hikoneko and mimicked her, setting one of his four blades on fire, the lower shutters that acted as eyelids over his gauges raised in a proud expression. "Let us be off."

Hikoneko simply raised one of her own eyebrows in response to Stickler, before turning to the rest of the group. "So...Where do we even begin tackling this problem? Maybe we should talk to some of the older residents? Something like this might show up in some of the town's legends or something. I know that legends aren't really all that accurate, but it could at least provide a good starting point for our research into what exactly we're dealing with. And who knows? We may end up finding someone who knows exactly what this thing is instead of some legend."

"Normally that would be a good idea." Vladimir acquiesced with a tilt of his head before looking up at the sky again. "However, I don't think we have the time to question people considering how quickly those cracks are spreading. This isn't a mystery in the shadows - this is a ticking time bomb. And that's being optimistic."
His eyes scanned the town as he began to walk. "We'll have to go straight to the source. Do any of you perhaps know where the Spark ruler in this settlement dwells?"

General Ed: qBOo7f8|1d6 "Sorry, I got nothing. My skills are more geared towards punching people rather than fighting them..." Hikoneko says with a shrug. Speaking of things she wanted to punch, it was quite curious that the creature suddenly changed course away from her.

The answer to Vladimir's question seemed fairly obvious to Lithal, “We Sparks aren’t exactly the type to live apart from our work;” he said, watching as the clock tower continued to warp. “my entire house is also a windmill. My hypothesis is that the one here lives either in, or adjacent to, that tower. That’s where we should start our investigation.”

Hikoneko turns to Vladimir. "Hey, Vladi. You wouldn't happen to be weak to the Dark Type would you?"

Vladimir's eyebrow slowly arched at her out-of-the-blue question. "I am human, not a construct. What kind of question is that?" He could almost feel the buzz of discontent underneath his skin and in the back of his head at both the query and his answer, but he ignored them for the moment.

"Well the reason I ask, is because that thing that came after you was a little something, well a big something, called Guzzlord. And it's favorite food are being who are weak to Dark." Hikoneko says with a knowing smirk on her face. "Plus I noticed you chose not to answer my question."A visual representation of Hikoneko's current expression:

The tall peaked roofed buildings of the tiny burg are closely packed, small alleyways occasionally breaking up the solid wall of houses on either side of the narrow street. Most of the structures look ancient, small patches of new material haphazardly attached in places where wood must have rotted or been destroyed. All of the high shuttered windows are closed tight, with no light filtering through the narrow cracks in the paint chipped slats. No sound can be heard beyond a strange dull thrumming and scrabbling that escapes from the various tears. The closer you get to the clock tower and its attached mansion the wider the natural cracks are, from thin enough that you couldn’t shove a piece of paper through by the square to wide enough to stick your hand through near the mansion. Occasionally a gleaming teal eye can be seen peering through the cracks above the street, staring at the group as they pass by.
As you come out of the labyrinthine path through the cities crisscrossing streets you find yourselves in a small plaza with a mostly unrecognizable mosaic, you can see the upper and lower portions of a door of some sort but little else. Several other streets branch off from this location opposite the door of the mansion itself. The edifice seems to lean slightly to the right, almost seeming to be held up by the stone clock tower that borders the right-hand side of the building. Half the buildings face has been covered with thick ivy that covers many of the windows. While the initial impression of the structure would make it seem run down, looking closely signs of care can be seen. Fresh paint and fresh looking patches are as common as areas with peeling paint or visibly rotting timber, it’s obvious that whoever maintains the place cannot keep up with the sheer amount of upkeep something this old requires.
Above you all the clocktower thrums as the strange energy arcs off of it into the air, large cracks forming thickly around the churning energy. Several squat devices can be seen perched on the roof, connected together by ropes of wires that seem to wreath the broken tiles of the tower. Something that looks like a lightning rod affixed at the peak which seems to be the device at the center of the emanations. The thick front door swings in the breeze left ajar for some reason.

"So...What do you think would happen if we smashed those devices up on the roof?" Hikoneko asks, cracking her knuckles. Tech Ed: n1KsJtQp3d6 "On second thought...Maybe it's better to leave them alone...Anyways, we won't get anything done by waiting around here!" Hikoneko says, walking up to the front door. 3d6

Vladimir followed behind him, his steps surprisingly light for a man so large. He took note of everything as he approached, frowning at the state of the infrastructure and the sheer emptiness in the area. They'd entered a ghost town long ago gone to shit. So long ago, in fact, that he was honestly wondering how the name of the town was still in circulation enough that it still managed to attract visitors. He'd sworn he'd seen that kind of structures in old towns that never grew out of the medieval ages or were preserved by the ruling Spark for amusement's sake. When they get close to the gate, he also spotted those devices on the roof that she talked about. Tilting his head at them, he lowered his shades, revealing his eerie crimson eyes as he looked at them carefully and tried to remember if he'd seen those before. But then his breath hitched when he realized that he recognized this thing. He paused for a long moment, scowling once more. "Yes. Don't break it. Whatever you lot do, do not break it. Not yet. Those are run-off tubes that are akin to exhaust vents... except instead of smoke, they release excess power. They're what're causing the small tears in reality...." His expression then darkened as he glanced at the entrance before walking on forward. "And whatever it's connected to... well, they're most likely trying to open a bigger tear - a portal if you will. To what? I don't think we'd want to find out."5d6

Salem had serious trouble keeping up with the fiery lion girl, having to curl over a bit to catch his breath after arriving at the door. For a brief moment, he had to hold onto Vladimir's shirt for a bit just to keep from keeling over. The rancid boy looked up at the door, panting as Vladimir gave his description of it.
"Well . . . pant pant. . . if this is . . . pant pant. . . the cause . . . then how should we . . . deal with it?"

"Simple!" Hikoneko says, punching her palm. "We beat up the Mad Boy causing this and make him undo it!"

"No, but I know where we can find him!" Hikoneko says, punching her palm dramatically. "Any true Spark wouldn't dream of letting someone else throw his...switch..." Hikoneko's sentence trails off as a vision of sorts comes unbidden to her mind. In it, she remembers a tall man in a labcoat with one hand on a wall switch while he pats her head with the other, while says the exact same sentence she just uttered. Hikoneko blinks and finds herself staring once again at the rundown mansion.

"Gah!" Hikoneko is startled by the sudden contact, causing her to use one of her moves at random at Salem.
