"It really wanted to know what was going on, but it looks kinda nervous. I bet it hasn't ever ridden a milotic before either." Mica commented, looking over her shoulder. With Donovan seated closer to the back she couldn't interact with the derpy little blob very well, so she reached up to pet the serpent that carried them onward.
"I hope my grandparents aren't too mad when they see me again. They have probably been really worried."

The Pokémon jiggles as Donovan pokes it, a little tingle at the end of his finger. It burbles at him, and clings onto the Milotic closer, like a child with a favorite toy. It seems to pout a little bit, before actually taking some time to look around, where the face becomes more indecisive. The Sprike keeps looking back and forth between the rapidly receding swarm, Donovan, and the Milotic, seemingly not able to figure out what to do. Which, well, that'll end up being a choice in itself at this rate. One thing it very much does not seem to want to do is let go.
Mica's petting of the Milotic are rewarded with melodic mrrrrrs from the serpent, as it continues towards civilization. It briefly turns back to look at her, but then realizes that, whoops, it needs to face places in order to steer, and so turns back sheepishly to correct its swerve.

"You need to let go, otherwise you're coming with us no matter what bud" Donovan says with a giggle
Once what Mica said sinks in, he turns back to her with a more serious look "You still haven't contacted them? You're just gonna show up at their door with a strange boy, and not expect weird looks?"

At that, she gives Donovan a weird look. "You honestly think I get any other kind, from anyone? The only person that has ever treated me like I was normal, was sensei. With like... measured patience, and she showed me stuff that grandma never did." Mica rests her forehead on the Milotic's neck and hugs it. "They were so scared to lose me they were suffocating me."

The squishyfish burbles, and then clings on even tighter, staring determinedly at Donovan. It seems to want to go where this ride is going to take it, for better or for worse. Though, it might just be thinking that it doesn't want to let go of the biggest dinner its ever managed to catch...
The Milotic goes ever onwards, as the village draws nearer and nearer off in the distance. With the way the sun is rapidly lowering in the sky, it looks like the pair will arrive at or after nightfall.

Donovan furrows his brow "You act like thats a bad thing. At least you got to see them" He mutters under his breath. He grumbled for a moment before speaking again, raising a finger in defense "And what the hell. First person to talk to you like you were normal. Mica we have been together for how long now? You're as normal as anyone else I know. You just don't try and hide what you like." He lets out a sigh before muttering again "And I've always treated you normal."

"You give me weird looks too Donovan, they're just a different kind of weird look! You get all glassy eyed, and get this goofy smile on your face." She draped her arms over the side of the Milotic, letting her hands dangle in the electricity. She sputtered a sigh and let her eyes lid. "You wouldn't understand, cause you've got a normal face, and don't bite people, or yell at quagsires... or wrestle with stuff. Girls like you, boys probably like you too. Adults even listen sometimes. You're the first boy that's let me touch their hair."

"You have a normal face too" Donovan says under his breath. He didn't understand Mica. But he couldn't let that stop him from trying to help. Besides, they were stuck on a pokemon in the middle of electrified water. He couldn't escape if he wanted to.
"If it bothers you, you could always try....not doing those things? At least biting people, that isn't really a...uh...socially acceptable thing to do. You clean up nice, though I like you just as much when you're just being yourself."
He snapped and smiled "I got it! Next time we make it to another big city, we'll make some friends! We've only really been interacting with gym leaders and pokepeople who are hundreds or thousands of years old. So maybe when we're getting ready for the next gym, we can find some other trainers our age and make some friends! Like when you first joined and we had the other two companions."
"And if all else fails, you have a friend for life in me. Even if you keep biting people"

"For life?" Mica reversed her seating to face Donovan. She didn't have to ask if he meant it, she could see it in the way he looked at her. A little color came to her cheeks, underlit by the rippling yellows underneath the two of them.
"It would be nice to have more human friends. I guess maybe that is part of why it feels like nobody gets me. I am tired of all the fighting and travelling. I just want to eat rocks with Dusty, and sing with Ham, or play grass with the professor. Maybe touch your hair again. Grandma says growing up is about responsibility. I didn't want to grow up this fast."

"Well like it or not, we're grown ups now. But we can do inbetween stuff once we make it to a bigger town. I'm sure there's SOME sort of nightlife somewhere in Vesperia. We can't slow down, not just yet, but one night won't be the worst thing to take off."
He shrugs "But before that, we have to deal with your grandparents. How are they going to react to you traipsing around the region with just an older boy" He says with a wink, hoping to lighten the mood

"Probably the same way they react to everything I do." Mica pouted and fell quiet, getting positioned to lay back against him and settling into the quiet as the Milotic swam them across the glowing sea towards safety. There was a bit of a sparkle in her eyes even as she turned away, making the pout seem just a bit forced. She enjoyed his company, lying back against him.

The Milotic carries on through the afternoon, which bleeds into evening, eventually reaching night by the time they reach the shores of the town. While small, it seems to be brightly lit, with what seem to be generators of some sort stuck into the Bay, probably to generate power, though they're unfamiliar structures to Mica.
It's close to one of these that the Milotic (and Sprike tagalong) pulls up to the shore by. It inches up next to the rocky shore, allowing the trainers to step off, without having to stop touching it within the electricity. The pair is interrupted, though, by a whistle coming from further up the rocks. There's two men - one medium build and muscular, the other tall and thin - and a taller woman with brown hair tied up in a ponytail, leaning against a metal railing, looking down at the arrivals. It's probably where a sidewalk is, based on what can be seen from below, but it's hard to tell. They seem to be wearing some sort of job uniform, judging by the similar attire. Perhaps working at the adjacent buildings?
"My, my, what have we here?" the tall man asks. "Haven't seen one of these in years."
"See," the woman says, pointedly, "I told you I knew what I saw. Next time, maybe you'll believe me."
"Yeah, yeah," the third says dismissively, "we can all laugh at him later. Let's catch the thing before it slithers back out to sea again. I know a guy who'll pay dearly to get his hands on this for the parts." He hops over the railing, getting a footing on the rocks to find a path down towards the glowing bay.
"Why do you think I told you?" the woman asks, petulantly, before vaulting over herself, followed by the second man.

Donovan deftly dismounts from the Milotic and lays his hand on it "Sorry. I can't be letting you take my Pokemon here."
He wasn't going to let these people capture his savior just to kill it for parts. Nothing about that would fly with him. So, he would make them think it was his. He was pretty good at lying after all

Parts? Mica wasn't sure she heard the older people correctly. PARTS?! The girl was already getting that same sort of look on her face as she did before she went off on Moraina. Donovan speaking up grounded her emotions, even if for just a moment. He talked about the Milotic like it was really his, but that wasn't true. He'd said that about her too once, though. The way he said it though, she sort of believed him even though she knew better? It was with an air of confidence and casualness.
Was this how he dealt with bullies? If they bought it, they'd leave the Milotic alone, and nobody would have to get beat up. That sounded nice. Doing something without doing anything at all. No, that wasn't the right line of thinking. Donovan's battling style was like this too. He did very small things. Mica didn't know the word. Those small things had big impacts but they took time. They were more complicated. Line of thinking concluded, she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.

The woman and the taller man glance at each other at Donovan's claim, a little hesitation clearly written there. But the other man keeps climbing down the rocks. "Ah, see, now, that's such a shame," he says, nonchalantly. "In that case, you'd better hand it over. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt now, would we?" He reaches for a Pokéball on his belt, and lets it drop to the ground, a large red quadruped with volcanoes on its back suddenly popping up.
"Hey," the woman says, a little uncomfortably, "they're just kids..."
"That's why I'm giving them a chance. They probably just made a mistake, eh?" He says the words pointedly. "Would really hate for anything to happen here. It's dangerous next to the bay, you know. Just an accident waiting to happen..."

"I'll give you an accident!" Mica belted out, unable to contain herself any longer. "Milotic is beautiful, and strong, and caring! I wouldn't let someone like you even look at something this nice if I had my way!"
Ham plopped heavily from his ball in front of her, giving the trainers across from them a friendly wave and a big smile. Mica calmed down at his reaction. "You are so good Ham, but they aren't nice people!". The Quagsire gave her a beady eyed look over his shoulder, expression not changing much. "Really? Well... Alright."
The teenager blinked a few times at the blue salamander. Though it hadn't said anything at all, or made a bit of noise, she seemed to glean some meaning from the exchange. "Donovan tried to be nice, but I don't back down for bullies. Bye Milotic, thank you for the ride... You should go back into the sea where it is safe." She reached up to rub the serpent's chin.

"Mica, don't go telling my Pokemon to run away just yet. We still have a whole journey ahead of ourselves with them after all" Donovan says with a smile before taking a step forward towards the approaching man while spinning a Pokeball on his finger
"You're right though sir. It sure would be a shame if you slipped and cracked your head open on those rocks. I'd climb back up real careful if I were you. Someone of your age shouldn't be performing such taxing physical activity" He winks at the man before tossing the Pokeball up and catching it

The Milotic glances at Mica as she addresses it, warbling in what seems to be protest, before glaring back at the other humans. It doesn't seem to want to leave the pair to deal with the new arrivals on their own.
The man chuckles. "Cute, kid. Could almost believe you. But doesn't seem like you'd have the heart for it. Now hand over the fish. I'd rather this all just resolve quietly, with nobody getting hurt. You clearly don't appreciate the value of what you've got. I know somebody who will."
The other two have made it down to the rocks now. "Look, I didn't expect there to be people involved," the woman says, "Maybe this isn't the best idea..." "You'd be set for life, though. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. I'm not letting it slip by." The taller man turns from his companion to the Trainers. "This is your last chance, kids. I don't want to hurt you. But that fish isn't getting away."

"Well then... Heeere's my answer." Mica pops her knuckles on both hands, folding them into each other, pinwheeling her arms exactly once before sprinting across the beach towards the massive Pokemon facing off against them. When she reaches it, she breaks to one side and launches from some of the scree littering the area. Mica's well toned legs wrap around that Pokemon's thick neck, briefly mounting it as she throws her full weight against the thinnest part of it's body, knocking it clean off it's feet, and manages to find hers just fine. She stares defiantly up at the adults.
(Camerupt is Tripped)
Ham, behind her, waddles forward and bulges his cheeks out impressively before loosing a stream of water at the downed Pokemon. (Its evasions are improved as this is a range attack against Prone.)

" The way I see it, you have about ten seconds before I let loose as well. I won't aim for the Pokemon" Donovan says with a glare " You ever hear of Polaris? If I'm not afraid of her, why would I be afraid of some two bit poachers" He balances the ball on his finger before he starts to count " Ten" Without waiting for nine, he releases Dandelion next to him and nods. The bee reads his thoughts and quickly turns towards the apparent ringleader, releasing a feeling of drowsiness into his head Hypnosis with a 14 vs AC 6 ignoring all non stat evasion. 14 because of Focused Training
