"I know a lot more about them then I ever thought I could, that's for sure. And yeah, I'll check with Mica and let you know and tell you when we're a bit closer." He says with a nod "Actually, I should go see Mica anyways" He adds under his breath.
"Alright, well I'll talk to you later" Donovan says, ending the call
With a breath, he gets up and heads for Mica's grandparents. He's quiet on the way as he attempts to think of what to say to her..
The air is sharp, and the walk empty, as he makes his way back towards Mica's place. There's the occasional person hurrying along through the brisk day, but they pay him no heed as they move with purpose towards whatever their destination is.
The door is answered quickly after he knocks, with Mica's grandmother opening the door. "Ah, Donovan. Good to see that you're all right. Come in. I'll go and see if Millie's busy. I think she was just on the phone, but make yourself comfortable."
Mica hears the knock on the door as she hangs up, and some voices. It's not long before her grandmother comes up, with a knock on the doorframe before she peeks her head in. "Millie? I just thought I'd let you know that Donovan's here."
"Thanks Gram." Mica left the quiet sancticmty of her bedroom, hair disheveled and riddled with little arcs of static. Hero peered out from under the safety of the teen's tresses, Ham waddling along behind. When the girl entered the living room, she didn't pull her eyes away from the floor, only had a seat beside Donovan.
"I was pretty sure you weren't coming back this time. Or that your parents would demand you come home. Any excuse to stop..". She cut herself off at that. "Elisha is doing okay. She invited me to come visit again sometime."
"It's good that she wants to see you again" He says before registering what she said "And no. I'm not leaving this undone. Too many people are relying on me, on us."
He sighed "I talked to the Lab. They were worried about us, but now Lana believes my story. Turns out disappearing for six months makes the impossible become believable." The boy shrugged "She's also sending me a special stone for Rose. Told me to ask you if you wanted one too. So that's something to think about"
"OH" His exclamation came out louder than he meant it "They also found new ruins out near Nahani that I want to check out. Might be some new answers there. So I think that's where I plan on going next. If...If you still want to travel with me"
"...Having even one person see a tiny truth in us is a drop of mud in a very dry bucket." Mica sprawled across the couch, ending face up in Donovan's lap to watch him with lidded eyes. "Like an evolution stone? I don't have any Pokemon that need that."
"I'd have to ask Gram and Gramps if it is okay. Maybe. They said to leave stuff up to the proper authorities." The girl's eyes slid away from his. "Can we do that date thing again, and take a break to just feel normal? Just for a couple of days? I'm not ready yet, and it has been a long time already."
"Having someone believe us is an important first step and every step matters" Donovan countered
His face flushed red when she laid her head on him and offered a date "I can't stay for a few days. Not knowing that time is different for them. I don't know how long they can last without the Plates. I'm not gonna leave until tomorrow though. So you still have time to think about it, and we can do something tonight if you want"
"I understand." Mica rolled up on to her side and buried her face in Donovan's middle. "I'll take the stone I guess, and the time you'll give me.". He was warm, and her eyes were so heavy from venting to Ham. Hero peeked out of her hair up at the boy and gave a buzzing chirp.
The day passes with little fanfare. Mica's grandparents mainly leave the two to whatever they want, and don't try to pry. The duo are able to wander the town, or gather supplies, or just curl up on the couch in front of the fireplace. Nothing of note happens, as the day slides into night, with Donovan able to use the guest room to sleep.
The sun rises once more on the cold little town, bringing with it a new day, full of new possibilities.
Mica takes Donovan around to the places that were special to her in the outskirts of Hirimilik and beyond. Pokemon she might've befriended in those developmental years are pointed out but not interrupted in their day to day lives, what ones may remain in the area with the changes the world has been through. Among the spots are a sea cave that can only be accessed at low tide, now only safely accessible with the help of their Pokemon. A copse of trees that grew so tightly together that it requires a great deal of (frightened) squeezing to reach the center, but in the middle there is a gap in the canopy that is perfectly circular, though it has started to grow in. A low firepit, now buried in leaves and detritus suggests Mica spent a lot of time in here by herself. Many of the locations are either unsafe, or very out of the way, giving the impression that the girl avoided people as much as some Pokemon do.
When the tour of her special spaces was over, they had a nice meal in the evening, discussed what they could borrow from Mica's grandparents without putting them out, and watched the sun set over Thunder Bay. Having taken Donovan out as she did, Mica couldn't help but feel a little less lonely that night, even though there were walls between them. The next morning came, and saw her training as hard as she ever did, though the morning was going to end with Cuddles. She couldn't avoid it forever. With Apex by her side, she released the Tentacruel in the yard.
Donovan enjoyed seeing the sights with Mica. He didn't have too much of a connection to his 'home' in Vesperia, still seeing Sinnoh and the forest as where he felt the most like himself. But Mica was excited and happy and that was enough for him for now. Sleeping in her grandparents house was still a little strange, but he eventually got over it.
Early the next morning he put his team through the paces and then waited for Mica to finish her training. He felt bad leaving already, but they had places to be. He couldn't bring himself to stay in one place for too long now. Not knowing six months had already passed.
The Tentacruel bursts onto the yard with an angry sounding hiss, and makes to lunge ant Mica and Donovan... but then a particularly chill gust of wind cuts through the air. The Trainers are all nice and warm in the coats that they were able to get from Mica's place, but the plant-monster seems to retract its tentacles, and try and curl up low to the ground. It doesn't seem to do particularly well with cold. It's still glaring angrily at Mica, and occasionally tentatively poking a tentacle-vine out to test the air, but it seems to mostly be trying to keep warm at the moment.
"It's still really angry..." Mica watched the eighty tentacled plant looks for an opening to be aggressive but dislikes the chilly air. "If you can be a little less prickly for a few minutes, I will help you get warm.". She cautioned it gently as she neared it, Apex shuffling along in her shadow.
Unbuttoning the front of her coat, Mica moved to press her front against the Pokemon's forehead, wrapping the open lapels against it's body to offer what heat she could without resorting to fire.
The Tentacruel hisses and continues to glare at her. When she approaches it, a vine whips out, keeping her between it and the wind, to push her away. It seems like it would rather be cold than accept anything from Mica right now.
"Well... Okay. Maybe next time. Take a rest, I will keep your ball somewhere warm..." She sullenly recalls the Tentacruel, and slips it's Pokeball into her jacket. "It must be really hard being angry all the time.". Mica trailed off at that. " I am going to go say goodbye to Gram and Gramps Donovan... Then we can leave."
There's a little of their typical fretting over her, as Mica says goodbye, but there seems to be an understanding in the air that she's more independent now, and has to make her own path and choices in life. There's a lot of hugging, and goodbyes, and telling her to stay safe and keep warm.
Before Mica heads out with the things that she's packed, her grandmother makes her take a bag, that has both some sweets inside, and also envelopes for both Mica and Donovan that contain some money. "Be safe, Millie," her grandmother says, at the door, at last. "I know you're strong. I know you're brave. And I know that you can do whatever you put your mind to. You always have. I know we'll see you again."
"I'll make sure to be the kind of person Mom and Dad loved. I'll try not to worry you and Grandpa too much in the process." An old, worn out Pokedoll strapped atop her pack, snacks for the road, and feeling a bit lighter, she rejoined Donovan to continue their journey together.
The chill meets the two as they set out from the town, leaving the small place in the middle of nowhere behind. It's going to be a long road going forwards, but one at least that they have each other for. With preparations made, Pokémon healed, and minds set, the travel to Nahani begins.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
