Hey there! For those who have already seen it, this is a copy-paste of my intro on the Pokemon Tabletop site. Hope that's not a demonstration of sloth on my part. Hi there, all! I'm Sinister. I'm a veteran tabletop player and Play-by-Poster. Been around RPGx for years, and to a lesser degree, MW. I've been doing live DnD and PF specifically for over a decade, and I'm an RP nut in general. I've also recently rediscovered my love of pokemon. Been rewatching the show to eventually watch Sun and Moon, and doing a competitive Nuzlocke with my friends where we can take a randomly chosen opposing pokemon after beating one another in battle after each gym (is there a name for that ruleset? Also, four gyms in, Heracross is the bane of my existance). Now, I'm not as up on pokemon lore as many of the people here, I'm sure, but I have started digging into the PTA rules, and they seem cool! Cool enough that I'd love to join a game here, or elsewhere if someone will have me also, willing to do any other rulesets out there. I'm not attached to any particular one yet, though patience will be required with any of them. My favorite pokemon is probably Magmar. That first episode with Blaine really stuck with me. Favorite starter is probably Squirtle. Favorite legendary has got to be Mewtwo. If I seem like a Gen 1 snob, I also love tons of stuff in 2 and 3, and Gold was actually my favorite game growing up. Only started playing Plantinum recently, though, with the intent to get through the rest of the series.

Also, as an addendum, I'd love to get into a game that's more or less a "standard" pokemon tale. That doesn't mean I'm not cool with homebrew material, but I love the idea of getting my toes wet here with the traditional tale of the young person battling their way to greatbess in an environment more or less inspired by the games and show.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum. I should probably let you know that PTA... does not really get played a lot here. It's primarily PTU - there has been one single game of PTA here, and that was more a playtest of a PTA-esque system. So, if PTA is the hill to die on for games, you'll likely not find much.
However, there's usually a semi-steady trickle of other games, so, if you're willing to look at PTU, then there will probably be some games that pique your interest that you can apply for.

Totally willing! I'm down to learn any system that people generally agree is pretty good. I have very few hills I'd be willing to die on in general. They seem less comfy than beds. I'll be keeping my eyes open for said games Edit: and thank you for the warm welcome!
