Mica gave Junthen a prolonged, contemplative stare. Long minutes passed without an iota of movement from the Bonsly, where Mica thought about many things. She thought about Polaris, and her sensei. She thought about her eagerness to be accepted and to protect. The desire she'd always had to belong and how ostracized she had felt for most of her later years. "The tribe is threatened, but I have already tried the only thing I could. I will continue to gather the plates for now." Mica stated obediently. "Can you tell me what the tribes fled from? Why they sealed themselves away? Anything I can learn from my time here will make coming more valuable?"

Donovan quietly shook his head as he walked along "There are as many different types of people out there as their are stars in the sky. The one I came in here with, Mica, she's as different from me as they come. But she's great. Some people out there....well some people aren't so great." He sighed "There's someone out there named Axiom. She's trying to collect the Plates as well, but she takes them by force, even killing to get what she wants. If what she wants isn't here then she might just leave. However" He looks at all of them seriously, his eyes narrowing for a moment "If she asks where it went. Do not try and protect us. I want all of you to be able to see the outside again, and she knows we can also come and go. Tell her the truth and she's likely to leave you alone, at least from my experience with her"

Mica
"...I do not know for certain," the Aggron admits at last. "From what I gathered, it was something that would render the land uninhabitable. But clearly not, for here you are, having lived in the Outside. So it could have been a trick. I could not tell you. All who could have known perished in the Sealing." He shakes his head. "We may never know for sure."
Donovan
"One person is nothing," scoffs Kiere, "We have a whole Tribe in here. Sure, many have never truly fought, but they have still been trained. At least, I assume that they've kept up with that."
"What's the catch?" Airen quietly asks, as the group moves towards their next destination.

"Well... every time we bring a plate back into the Outside from its resting place, the world changes and we're the only ones that seem to notice." Mica mumbled to herself. "Well... since I can't stay here with the Mountain, I'll have to try to be a mountain with Donovan even though he's a Grass." Mica stated offhandedly, looking off towards one of the room's exits. "Mountains have trees and snow and stuff, so I'll figure it out as we go."

"One person is nothing is what they thought in the Fighting Tribe as well. And it was a massacre. Axiom in a monster, but she holds some code of honor." Donovan says staring blankely into the wall as they continue on "Besides, the moment any of us touch a Plate we get teleported out of here. She would slaughter her way right to it and then leave."
He wondered if they realized that meant he could have grabbed it and left already. Hopefully they did and took it as a sign of good faith.

"Hold up, now," Junthen barks. "You are travelling with others, not of rock? You cannot trust them. They are only going to look out for themselves. They'll likely just take the plates, and leave you with nothing. You must not return to them."
Donovan
"I see. That is something to think on." The snake falls silent once more.
As the group approaches a door ahead, there's some echoing noise coming down the corridor, clearly forceful speech, though it's not quite possible to pick out what's said.

"Donovan's here, I've mentioned him a few times, and to Paravius. I trust him, and without him I'm doing this all alone. Alone I am sand, like you said." She states innocently. "He can be thoughtless sometimes, but he really does have everyone's best interests at heart."

Donovan perked up upon hearing the voices "I thought you said everyone was asl....." He trailed off as his eyes went wide "Mica" He says under his breath before turning back to the Rock types "I'm going to take a guess and say that my Protector is in there. She's really wonderful but can sometimes not think through what she says, or really think too much at all."

"That's what he'd want you to think," the Aggron scoffs. "Grass types aren't the most powerful, so they need to use trickery to get the job done. Give them the smallest crack, and they'll use it to try and split you right open. Do not give them that chance."
Donovan
"Well, that's... unexpected," Qiara says "I thought you said she was sleeping!" She sighs. "Well, we should hurry. This could get ugly..." The group speeds up for the last little bit, before rounding the door that the noise is coming from to see a towering metal-and-rock monster, the wolf that looks like the one from before shifting a little bit awkwardly on the sidelines... and then Mica. Before he can say anything...
Both
...the Aggron turns towards the doorway and asks, with some contempt, "Is this the one you were speaking of?" He looks a little higher. "Oh, Qiara. What a lovely surprise. I see you've left your post with intruders amok."

"That is Donovan, yes. It looks like he made some friends too!" Mica replied in good humor, the Aggron's tone sailing clear over her head. "Hi Donovan, this is Junthen and Paravius.". She gestured to the two Pokemon at her side with a nod of her stony branches. " He was teaching me how to be a Rock, but was pretty adamant that they wouldn't let us have their plate."

"Well that's unfortunate" Donovan says with a sigh, before taking a few steps forward towards the steel monster and bowing his head before speaking "Like she said, I am her companion Donovan. Also like she said, I've come to talk about us taking your Plate in order to free you all from here."
He looks back at the group behind him and assuredly smiles with a nod before turning back towards Junthen "I'm sure you have a lot of questions about why a Rock and a Grass type like me are traveling together, but I will answer any questions you have."

"I have no questions for you," the Aggron says, "For you are Grass. Even worse, Poison, too. It is pointless to listen to your lies, for in every grain of truth there will be a thousand attempts at manipulation. No. I will not succumb to your attempts at twisting words. I will tell you what I told her. If you are serious about freeing us, then you will bring the other plates here. No less."
"Junthen..." Qiara starts. "No. You be quiet. You are an idealistic sap. You'll believe anything. You couldn't even do your one job correctly. No sending anyone else to collect us. Did you at least leave someone else to guard the plate when you knew that there were outsiders about?" There's protracted silence. "Exactly. How do you know that it isn't gone already, whelp?"
"I trust them. It feels right!" "Well, 'feelings' are not how you should make decisions! You don't have the experience!" He huffs, and then pushes past the group into the corridor with a clang. "You know my feelings on this. The plate should not leave. I imagine that the others will take your side, after however long of complacency, but if they do not, that is my voice." He slowly storms off down the corridor, the place reverberating with every step, Paravius slinking after him.
"...I am sorry," Qiara says to Mica and Donovan as he gets further away, "that... actually went about as poorly as expected. A little less violence, perhaps."
"So you're the outsider rock?" the Carbink asks Mica. "You don't look any different."

Mica remained silent while Junthen laid into Donovan and then the newcomer, but her expression was rife with upset. The Pokemon that were with Donovan were all certainly interesting, even if the one that defended their cause was mostly nose. Thinking on it, many of the rock types she'd seen lacked them completely, maybe that one Pokemon stole them all? It had four. Maybe she could borrow one? Bonsly would look silly with a nose though, she dismissed the idea when she was addressed.
"Well... you look..." Mica paused considering the long ears, shining eyes, the gleaming crystals throughout the carbink's body and the furry looking ruff around its short if not nonexistant neck. "SO CUTE!" She hops from foot to foot. "I want neckfloof like that! Oh... but outside I'm a human and it's boring... and dumb. Nobody listens to me out there either. Junthen kind of did, but he must be really lonely keeping his head that up."

Donovan watched as Junthen stomped down the hallway they had just come from. Sighing, he turned the the others "So was Junthen the last one we needed to meet with, or were there others?" He had expected someone to be bullheaded. He wasn't quite sure yet, but he would find a way to prove himself to the Aggron yet. First however, he needed to make sure that he had the rest of the elders on their side.
"I will do my best to make him trust me before we leave here. I'm not really one to just give up, even if it would be the smarter thing to do"

"Uh.........." is all the Carbink seems to be able to say, faced with Mica's unbridled enthusiasm.
"No," Qiara says, "as I mentioned before, there are still two others. But first, introductions should be in order. He said your name was Mica, correct? Well, it is nice to meet you. I am Qiara. That... 'floof'," she seems to be amused at the wording, "is Kiere. And the quiet snake back there is Airen."
"Tell me," the snake in question says, quietly, "What brought the two of you to set aside your differences and work together?"

"You won't change his mind Donovan, his tribe and its strength mean everything to him. Taking their plate seriously undermines the whole mountain, and even though he'd never admit it, he's scared and would rather things didn't change." Mica turned towards the Budew. "That's even before his dislike of budew's typing, which I still don't understand." She dipped to one side. "Junthen made it sound like Clan was also a philosophy, but it's the first time anyone's been like this."
When Qiara spoke, Mica politely listened to her introductions. She was still very excitable, and wriggled side to side with the introductions. "I'm Mica, yes, I'm also very bad with names but I will do my best. Pleased to meet you!" The rock snake, which was enormous compared to Mica, would have been enormous even were she still human, spoke in a voice like a distant tremor, soft and yet impactful. She waddled towards Airen, under the upward bend of the Pokemon's neck to look up into their eyes. She turned to glance back at Donovan for a moment, clearly thinking before she spoke.
"When we first met, it was a really exciting moment for me, and a really stressful one for Donovan. I'd dreamed my whole life of being a Pokemon, and that was cut suddenly short by Madine in fighting's shelter. The friends that had seen what Axiom had done didn't want to get involved anymore. Donovan wanted to help still, but he would have been alone." Mica scuffed a foot, the Bonsly's mouth scrunching up in a frown briefly. "I know all about being alone, cause I've been sand my whole life. Now, even though we're so different, we have someone. We're doing our best, together. I don't always understand him, and he doesn't always understand me, but it is those traits that we share that make it work." She explained slowly, and with great care.
"More then that, we cover each other's weaknesses. We developed a respect on the understanding that neither of us is perfect. Being different is a good thing."

As Mica began to speak to the other Rock types, Donovan settled in and thought up what he would say as well. But he quickly found himself confused, drawn in as Mica speaks slowly and deliberately, not stumbling over her words, or making ones up, or getting overly excited. He blinked a few times, wondering if a different Bonsly had stumbled into the room in her place instead.
Before she finishes speaking, his eyes go wide as a realization hit. When they first met they learned something important. "You said something earlier, about how there was only one Axiom and a whole Tribe in here. But the thing about it is, we can't die in here and neither can she. Mica experienced it firsthand. If we 'die' we just reappear outside. She could just keep coming back in over and over, and wear you all down. Like a river cutting through the earth over time, it doesn't matter how strong you are" He bit his lip and turned to Mica "Did you mention Axiom to Junthen? Does he know that we can't die?"

"I told him, he said he'd rather die defending the plate then give it up without a fight. He doesn't care how great we are as warriors, the nobility of our cause, or that the other tribes will die out without Rock's participation. I told Paravius more about how she couldn't be stopped, he didn't seem bothered either." Mica explained. "I don't think I told him that, no... we were too busy talking about what I... should be doing for my people?" She seemed very confused by that notion. "That I belonged even though I've never belonged anywhere... it was kind of nice."

"I see. That is admirable." The snake nods at Mica before turning to Donovan. "And that is concerning. You say that you cannot die, even through violent means?"
"Or is it only through violent means?" the Carbink chimes in, apparently having found her words again. "Since you mentioned that you only live to about twelve hundred Moons, and all. Do you just... keep coming back to life every time you perish in combat?" She sounds uneasy at this thought.
"As for the tribal tendencies... some believe more strongly in it than others," Airen explains. "I don't believe it influences a person as strongly as Junthen does... but the way in which one is raised does have bearing on how they act. So, those raised to the Tribe of Poison do seem to have more of a habit of being duplicitous, for instance. That's not to say others cannot be deceitful, but... how much of that is expectations, how much is Typing, and how much is just passed down attitudes... I cannot say. I do not know if anyone can truly say."
"He does speak true in some regards, though," Qiara adds. "As a people, we do not like yielding ground, or often admitting we're wrong. It's a sign of weakness. And the weakness of one makes the Tribe as a whole weaker. The strength of the one becomes the strength of the many becomes the strength of the one again."

"It's only in here that we cannot fall. Though I haven't tried dying outside of the influence of the Plates, so I might be wrong there" Donovan explained before sighing "I know it's going to be hard, but I can't leave here without the Plate, and if Junthen stands in my way, I will do anything I have to to convince him."
Once more he says before nodding towards the exit "But first, there are still two others, right?"
