The dark hole curves slightly as you fall, the slope giving a gradual slide as opposed to a straight drop. Light from below shows the grovves and bumps that make up the walls of your transport before being pushed out onto a rock island. The rivers of lava above were merely a preview to the lake ahead of the group. Spires of rock lifted high to connect to the ceiling of the massive cavern. The outer isles within the lake seemed to house small man-made pedestals now empty of whatever they held. There did seem to be a way to get ot the main structure in a hop scothc like bridge across the lake.

"Kehehehehehe!"
Babs chortled as she bounced and slid down the hole, coming to a stop flat on her back. Babs hauled herself to her feet and brushed some of the dust off of her cloths. Looking around myopically she tried to make out the details on the main island. As she stared off into the distance Boggy came skidding down the chute, legs splayed out akimbo and spinning like a top. Before she knew what was happening Babs and Boggy were tangled up in an undignified heap. Extricating herself from the grinning filly Babs shot her charge the stink eye.
"I don't know what yer so happy about. Could'a turned an ankle."
Boggy just gave a loud "hee-haww" in response.

Raoul slid down slowly but surely, his descent remarkably slow and controlled as if he was lighter than he was. And perhaps he had been. In any case, he managed to slow down enough that by the time he had descended down and reached the other side, the other three were well out of his way. Frankly, he was just thankful it wasn't a straight drop as it would have taken more skill than he might've had to either roll with the fall or just let himself pass through the worst of it till he decelerated enough to land safely on his feet. Once he was down, he immediately moved away from the hole and looked to Babs and her donkey for a moment, blinking in curiosity.
Seeing that she had that well in hand though, he turned back towards Rose, trying to ignore the ridiculous heat of the lava rivers. "This is... elaborate and rather man-made. That or it was made by intelligent pokemon. Who made this place, Rose Red? Do you know?"

Rose looked at the pillar before responding, "My guess are the Heatran did, at least the pillar, it wasn't here before." Her guess was just a guess after all, but she was telling the truth that this was not here before.

Babs thought for a moment before a question occurred to her.
"So, if this wasn't 'ere the last time you came down this way what were you expectin ta find?"

"Babs has a point there." Raoul looked thoughtful as he looked around the pillars, mentally trying to compute how old they were in his head to see if his theories made sense. "What are we trying to see here? One of those Heatran... or traces they left behind?" Or possibly even another legendary? Either way, if they saw one... then she would have fulfilled the bargain and he would be bound to keep his word. Maybe after he dealt with trying to get Broksin's crest though. The travel from this part of Broksin to Liend is kind of far. Raoul Dantès Finea made a Occult Ed Check! | BCkDlyFx4d6 |

"These ruins look very recent, by the way. Only about two years old?" Raoul observed, speaking out loud. "Have there been recent developments within the area within the past two years that you've heard of?"

"We;;.. The military have been always stomping around looking for new ores for weapons and such. I can't believe they would build something like this down here. Maybe some sort of cult moved in after I left, I herar that there are some nasty ones starting up around Liend and Braxius." She turned to Babs, "As for what I'm looking for it's any sign of Groudon, I need to add his power to mine in any way I can. Although I can say this isn't the sign I thought I'd find."

"A cult... could be, considering what you've told us about Heatran and how it seems to be a force of nature." He remarked, his face remaining level when she idly commented about the issue with the cults in Liend and Braxius. He knew that sort of mess well enough, and they didn't warrant comment in present company.
There were other things she mentioned that definitely did though. Her fixation on Groudon was becomming as unnerving as Aluche's desire to find something like that one legend. "...why do you need Groudon's power so much, actually?"

Erinna went skidding down the rocky chute, her robes bunching up around her, and snagging on bits of rock as she did so. Towards the bottom she slid to a stop, and was forced to scoot her way through the final bit of the tunnel, her weight having been insufficient to generate the needed momentum to make it all the way out. She just caught the tail end of Raoul's comments as she emerged. "Wait, Groudon and Heatran are down here?" Her face showed a look of absolute horror. These legendaries they spoke of were not benevolent forces like Creselia or Celebi. Heatran and Groudon brought destruction, and to venture into their lair was a monumental risk.

Getting bored of berating Boggy Babs watched as Erinna came skidding down the tube. Her robes looked nice but it was pretty obvious that they weren't made for this sort of work, for a moment Babs thought about urging the woman to get something more suited for exploring but she was already grown and could make her own choices. Shrugging Babs turned to look out over the lake, the conversation losing her interest. She walked to the edge and stared into the bubbling mass, Boggy skipping at her heels. Deciding that she'd see what all this hullabaloo was about she began to hop from rock to rock making her way toward the central structure with Boggy a few bounces ahead of her.

Raoul glanced over at Erinna and shook his head. "No, priestess. Just Heatran. You're rather late to the discussion. This apparently was a place they crossed and carved out... though the structures are terribly recent." He then looked over at Babs, following after her, hopping from rock to rock while expecting that the others either follow them or warn them to halt their forward advance.

The heat from below teases at your soles as you make your way to the structure. Inside you see many glowing letter like creatures floating about in strange patterns near the top of the spire. They appear to be encircling an orb of some kind.

Babs looked on in amazement at the swirling blaze of alphabet soup, the orb in the center catching her eye. It seemed like the sort of treasure heroes would find at the end of tales. Something to bring home to show the Grandkids, and the Great-Grandkids too for that matter. Running forward she ignored the swirling typography in her attempt to snatch it up.

The deadly game of hopscotch proved no challenge for Erinna, but each step closer to the center of the magma chamber filled her with fear. It was a mark of the magnitude of the situation that she had chosen not to wait for the princess to descend the rocky shoot, and was instead pressing onward with the other three. The veritable flame Pokemon cult was not what she had hoped to find on the other side.

...n' that's why Artificers are way better than that potion-makin' crap ya do. "For the nth time, just being able to use a facsimile of Lord Arceus's Judgement move does not-Wait, where are we?
Aluche finally tears her attention away from her argument with Malvasia to take notice of her surroundings. "Are you finally paying attention, Milady?" Shirai asks, noticing the change in Aluche's behavior. "You really must fix that bad habit of zoning out whenever you start to ponder something."

As he finally arrived, he took a moment to marvel at the orb and the symbols... before recognizing exactly what the orb was. He paled, and then paled even more when Babs dashed on forward without a word or probably a thought beyond what was above 'might' be treasure. To be fair, it was treasure... but....
"Babs, stop!" He looked pale as he shifted and then released his Cubone as a cautionary measure. He didn't know if his warning was too late though.

Aluche hears the Raoul's shout and hurries up to where the other's are. "Is everything okay over here? I hear a shout!" Aluche looks around the room she just entered with interest, her eyes settling on the orb that Babs had reached out to touch. Occult Ed Check: tJmYD|Sr5d6 Skill Monkey reroll:5d6+2 5d6·5d6+2

Occult ED results: Erinna: It is a red orb shown in the texts as being the summon stone for Groudon Aluche: It is a red orb shown in the texts as being the summon stone for Groudon, it seems to be lacking the luster and energy to preform the summon that the Unknown are providing. Groudon is said to be bound to the one who summons it as an avatar, though only at a fraction of it's godhood. As Babs rushes forward Many of the Unown rush to form a wall between her and the orb. Their forms shifting quickly in rapid succession as they write out their warning. "STOP, YOU ARE NOT TO TOUCH THE ORB!"

"Heed their warning, Lady Babs," Erinna pleaded to the old woman. "That orb will bring only death and despair! Groudon is not a power to be summoned by mortals! Her voice nearly broke with fear as she spoke, but she managed to voice the entreatment. At her side appeared Invidia at the conclusion of the plea, the Ponyta offering a sterner look than her owner ever could, and punctuating it with a stamp of her hoof.
