Myst breathes a sigh of relief. It's over. Probably. The last Yarhi hasn't seemed to be that aggressive. So far, though Brin's story says otherwise. If it's willing to live and let live, though, that's all well and good. Their job is to get the miner out. She's very eager to get out herself. "Yes," she says, "It's cleared as best that we know. We should make haste in hopes that it remains that way." Following her own advice, she takes quick steps towards the path leading for the surface, feeling the air for enemies.

"Oh, good shot, kupo!" Ethais rounds up some of the things that didn't discorporate into Mist immediately, though she'll offer Kupdi the buckle, seeing as the final blow was his. She glances at the hole speculatively as Bruin worries about that last Esper. "Eats magicite, hm? I suppose it's possible. They are creatures of Mist, after all. Well, if it gives you more trouble, feel free to give us a call, kupo!"
She scolds Kupek quietly. "Kupopo! We need to work on your accuracy! You're in for some serious training later." But for now she'll recall the Geodude into his magicite and shoulder her cannon, ready to follow Myst and Bruin out of the cave. She contemplates her newly-bound second Pokémon curiously, but examining it more closely will have to wait until they get back to town.

Kupdi sagged heavily, it was as much age as it was the ache in his muscles and his depleted aether. Restraining a monster of that strength on force of will alone was something else, and he regretted that, as often happened, Treize took the brunt of the assault. He accepted the buckle graciously, turned over the notched disk in his hands, and slipped it into his waistpouch alongside the filled magicite. Myst had the right idea, this was a time for retreat and regrouping, task accomplished. A life had been saved today.

Thankfully the escape from the cave was much more peaceful than the entrance had been, though a few times there was a rumble and some of the loose rocks fell harmlessly to the floor. Bruin had made his way out as the group talked amongst themselves, moving faster than any miner they had seen before.
Once they made it back out of the entrance, the sun was starting to dip a little in the sky, Bruin was in the middle of getting a stern talking to from the Foreman, and the rest of the miners seemed to be much more calm than before, knowing their friend was now safe.
The group could either head back to the Clan Hall and pick up their reward, or stick around the camp a little longer and enjoy the change in atmosphere.

"We should probably be heading out," Myst says. She's glad to be able to stretch her wings under a sky that's not at risk of falling on her head. It's freeing, and a relief. Aegyl are not meant for confined spaces.
There's also the unspoken discomfort she has with remaining here. She's never really at ease around a group of strangers, even if they do seem grateful. She'd rather keep moving.

Ethais is actually on the point of wandering off to gossip with a couple of the miners, but she stops short when Myst talks about heading out. As much as she'd like to stay and make friends, they've pushed Myst's discomfort a lot already today. "Hm, you think so? I guess should see what I can do about that acoustic issue with Gerard. No point to having the canister shot if I can't use it safely, kupo."
She sounds a little regretful, though. The miners might know all sorts of interesting things.

Kupdi glanced between Myst and Ethias. The Aegyl had done a great service in sticking with their budding clan through this first mission. If there was ever a situation to test one's courage, it was finding themselves buried in an element they were completely opposed to. Maybe bury was the wrong word right now, Kupo. Words failing him, he gave her a gentle pat on the back of the hand. "You did well today. Thank you. Let's go home."

The miners waved them off and the trio was able to make their way back to the clan hall peacefully. The sun had dipped behind the horizon as they approached the stone keep. The door gave way with a creak and once more they were within its warm halls, the fire still crackling in the corner. "Ah, the fresh faced Clan returns with a success under their belts!" The same Hume from before says with a smile "The Foreman already sent word that you all saved his man. He seemed very thankful." Reaching under the counter, he pulled out medium sized bag, the clink of stones being heard within "He also sent these. Some of the stones they had uncovered. Said you all deserved them and more" He looked back over the trio again "So, now that you've managed your very first Job, just a few quick things. First off, if you head to the Infirmary we have some White Mages who can get you healed back up and ready to go for whatever Job you take next. We have some basic barracks for any Clan that doesn't have their own base of operations, so you have somewhere to stay, we just take a slight cut out of your earnings to cover the rent and food we provide. And then, I need a name to register you all under. Hopefully you spoke of it during your Job today like we had talked about before you left." He held out a contract, with space at the end for them to put both the Clan name, and their own. First Job complete!
3000 Gil to split between the three of you
3 Fire Magicite, 2 Rock Magicite, and a Fire Stone.
Also you all get a Milestone!

A job well done is definitely something to be proud of! Especially when it comes with a reward. Between the varieties in the bag and the shards Myst found in the mine itself, Ethais suspects that the mine produces a lot of fire magicite in general. Of course, dividing up the spoils was going to have to wait, because there was a question that needed to be answered first.
Ethais pulls back for a moment to consult with the others. "We really need to pick out that name, kupo," she says in an undertone. "What do you all think? I kind of like 'Enterprise', apropos of nothing much, but if anyone has strong feelings now's the time to voice 'em, kupo.
She pauses thoughtfully for a moment. "Or maybe Esperanza. It's a word I heard a lot in Rozarria - means 'hope'."

Oh. Right. Naming. She'd entirely forgotten about that, what with the worry of going underground, and the fighting... it had all slipped her mind. This is awkward. She doesn't have much to offer, except maybe... "If you are looking for words, then there is one in the tongue of the Aegyl, 'Tswarri'. It roughly translates to 'those who are lost'. Not one that is typically used, but... I think it perhaps fitting. Or, less fraught with meaning, Highwind. For those are the winds of freedom."

"I am partial to Esperanza te Tswarri, Hope for those who are lost." Kupdi nodded proudly as he accepted the bag of stones on behalf of the troupe. "We three, ourselves, are outcasts or wanderers of some fashion or another. Have borne our trials to come to this point in time and found ourselves once more." He fluttered his wings boldly. "We should use that to be a beacon for others, Kupo!"

"Whatever works," Myst says. She just wants this over with, and behind her. Aegyl didn't really do naming things. Just children. And, really, a lot of those were just ancestral names. Everything else was named long before, when the aegyl first ascended from the Underworld.

"Hmm... Esperanza te Tswarri." Ethais's nose twitches slightly as she mouths the words, as if she's tasting them. This is probably as close to the deliberate, contemplative nu mou stereotype as the others have probably seen her come without being seriously depressed. "I like it, kupo! Let's sign it in."
She nods firmly and turns back to the desk to write the clan name in. She signs her own name with a flourish. Ethais may not be an outcast, but she certainly is a wanderer - not lost, but with no particular destination in mind. And pointing the way for those who are lost certainly appeals to her. Helping people is an excellent way to make friends and make those friends' lives better all at once.
She steps aside to let Myst and Kupdi sign the paperwork as well.

Once the paperworked was finished, the man behind the counter nodded "Clan Esperanza te Tswarri.....a bit wordy but I guess the meaning is there." Grabbing what was left on the counter and beginning to walk away to file it, he turns back and speaks over his shoulder "Now, it's fairly late, so I doubt you'll be taking another job, so let me know if you have any questions. If not, I already told you where everything important is."
He nodded once more "Well Clan Esperanza te Tswarri, I hope you all have a good night, and thank you for everything that you did today"

"Kupo... what an exhausting first mission. Treize will need some attention and I should get these old bones looked after too." Kupdi gave a leisurely stretch. "Might be best to get acquainted with the mist creatures we've sealed as well. One thing at a time, though." The Moogle gave a little flutter, and was off to the white mages to be looked after. From there, it was straight to the barracks for bed.

"Yes, healing would be appreciated..." Myst says. That's one thing that the Underworld has that surpassed her home. There, the only healing magics were those from Yarhi, or those that sapped the user's own life to give to the other. Aegyl could not heal things from nothing, not on their own. The closest were berry plants that grew around, but nothing compared to the efficiency of the 'White Mages' here. "I will leave you two to interacting with your new acquisitions, though. I think for myself, I would just prefer to take a flight, and then rest."

"Yes, definitely seeing the healers first, kupo." Ethais hums thoughtfully. There are a lot of things she wants to do - tinker with her cannon, get to know the new Pokémon she's bound, just wander around down and soak up gossip... She certainly can't blame Myst for wanting to stretch her wings after spending so long underground.
She shakes her head, making her long ears rustle, and chuckles quietly. "Clan life certainly doesn't look like it's going to get boring."
Ethais herself hasn't suffered much injury - one of the perks of being a long-range combatant - so while her Pokémon are being healed she'll see if any of the White Mages are unoccupied enough to chat for a bit.

The trio head into the infirmary, only to be greeted by a cadre of people in white robes with red trim. The oldest looking of the bunch, a grizzled Nu Mou, shambles forward and takes a look at the group, shaking their head the whole time "Another group of youngsters, out getting hurt on a job and coming back expecting to be fixed up"
The look on their face was sour, as if they were tired of dealing with such occasions, before they began to chuckle and a light glowed on the end of their staff "Just kidding. I just like making that joke with all the new blood." They tapped Kupdi on the top of the head with their staff, a feeling of warmth passing through his body that left him feeling energized "Come in, come in. We will get you all healed up, both you and your Pokemon. Then you can be on your way"
After a few minutes, the mages had done their work, the white magicks having healed wounds that would have taken days to heal naturally. The old Nu Mou nodded in acceptance at the work the other mages were doing, before going and finding a seat, looking to be the most capable of all of them but also the least occupied.

Kupdi was glad for the quick and relatively non-invasive procedure. It felt strange to have directed aether pushed through his body in such a manner even if it was to repair his wounds. With Treize awake once more, he opted to feed and groom his mount before heading off to sleep in the Barracks, bidding Myst and Ethias a fond farewell before beginning the lengthy affair. His loyal steed deserved better then what it got, often.

Once they were all healed, Ethais wandered over to the older nu mou curiously. She supposed she could see why they were sitting on the sidelines and overseeing - Ethais was no mage herself but she knew channeling too much magick could be tiring. Clearly they were conserving their strength to deal with more serious cases.
"Hello there." She spoke slowly, mostly because she was making a conscious effort not to let a "kupo" slip out. She knew some nu mou found that little verbal tic strange, even after explaining that she'd been apprenticed to a group of moogles. "Mind if I stay and chat for a little while?"
