Nothing about the memories leading up to this moment had been gentle, benevolent, or just. The humans in black came with their heavy webs and drug unsuspecting Pokemon from the forest. They attacked viciously with claws made of pointed steel, or Pokemon they had subjugated. Pain, confinement, helplessness. No relief came, the only solace was to be confined with your peers. Then, they too were taken away. One at a time, by humans speaking in detached tones, wearing white. They were often followed by some sort of wandering metallic eye. It didn't smell like a Pokemon, though it certainly acted like one. The walls were round, and smooth, with a high window in the singular door. Only five yet remained in the pen, a weighted band of metal fitted around their necks, they had long since been rendered incapable of fighting. To one another, they were simply known as what they were; A Mightyena, a Starly, a Salandit, a Wimpod, and a Ralts.

Alone, separated from the others of his nest, Thel shivers. Not because of the cold - although, without his clutchmates it is much cooler than he's used to, but at least he produces some heat - but because of the loneliness. None of his family were here with him. And he needed to get back. This is all painful, but just as bad is the knowledge that he's failing. The longer he's away, the worse the punishment will be. He needs to get back home, to the soft, sweet, warm air. Not the sterile cold that he's subjected to here.
Besides that, though, the worst part is probably the confines. He is a hunter, and while he's willing to wait, the ability to move... that's his lifeblood. It all turned around that day, though. He'd become the hunted. And he failed. He's confined now. And there's nothing that he can do...
Dwelling in self-loathing, fear, and pain, he just lays on the floor, despondent, one eye open to watch the door. If more pain is coming, he wants to at least know.

Starly was not given to intense or deep thought. She was Starly. She was once among many Starly and Staravia. She was now trapped in this small, confining, and horrifying space that defied any logic or understanding. "No no no no." She beeps quietly, shrinking further into her little 'corner'. Every few minutes, she says the same thing. "No no no no."
In some dim corner of her head she knew that she needed to fight back. The beak, talon, and wing. Buffet and bash. Fight. Fight, fight, fight, fight. Get away from here. Get away now! Fly! Seek the sky! But no. No no no no no. That only brought more pain. she was alone. She could do nothing to help this situation or herself. She was doomed, never to escape. Never, never ever. Nothing.
Alone. Nothing. "No no no no."

A snarl escaped from Omega, but he lay on the ground, defeated. Here he was, laying in a room with nothing but prey, and yet he could do nothing about it. Nothing. Alpha and Beta were right, he was the worst of the pack.
He snarled again, louder this time, before standing up and pacing back and forth in front of the door. And then the Starly began to beep incessantly in the corner. The same thing, over and over. Once more, it began to chirp and Omega snapped his head towards the bird, his eyes lowered, a hunter looking at prey "Cry all you like. It won't get us free"
A large sigh escaped from his body as Omega dropped once more to the ground in front of the door. Alpha and Beta may have been right before, but this time he would make them wrong. He would find a way out. Somehow.

Perhaps to Omega's surprise, the small bird immediately clams up. No. She couldn't offend this one. She was in too much danger. They live in the trees because the ground is bad. The ground is bad because that is where they live. Anger the groundlings, and die. Never stay. No no no no no. No no no no no no.
Her head suddenly tilts back furiously and the small bird unleashes a terrifyingly noisy cry. Off! Get it off! With beak and talon, she attempts desperately to remove the wretched collar about her neck. When that fails, she rubs her frail body up against the sterile floor. Her wings flap furiously, as if to try to fly, trying to remove the chafing thing. No! NO NO NO NO! OFF!!!

The Wimpod and Ralts kept to a tense silence, the former fidgeted skittishly in place. It in no way liked being in a confined space with a predator, nor away from the water. It had previously suggested that Omega as the strongest could free them, but the attempts only made things worse for the bunch. He had since kept his ideas to himself. The ralts never spoke, only offered what quiet empathy and comfort that it could by presence alone. It was likely the most collected still, but had to bear the burdens of the other high strung emotions in the room all the same.
Beyond the confines of their little cell, the world was moving on, suddenly and violently. Explosions rocking through some distant place, near enough that the floor vibrated sporadically. The humans beyond the walls made noises of distress and urgency, and the door opened to reveal a different human. This one was red, and bespectacled, with angular black patches on his skin and a second pair of eyes over his own that were square. Flanking him was a four winged bat with yellow eyes. "Herd them into the chamber and set it to maximum power. I need the rest of that data, then, destroy the rest of it according to plan Zeta-Epsilon." The white humans nodded over their clipboards, and gestured down the gated walkway towards a larger chamber. Pointing, they issued a command that was understandable. "Move."

Waiting, waiting, waiting... the time just drags on. Is it day, is it night? Who knows? It's endless captivity, punctuated only by occasional bursts of activity. Like now. Although... now is more frantic than most.
At being freed to move, Thel glances first at the Wimpod - it really does look delicious - and then at the humans, tempted to try and attack one. But, a second glance at the much larger bat, and sheer numbers dissuades him. He didn't get this far in life by ignoring his survival instincts. Instead, he takes the grateful opportunity to dash out of the cramped chamber, into... well, the unknown, but it's surely better than this. He's fine with hiding in nooks and crannies while hunting.. the issue comes when he's trapped. He just wants to get out.

The door opened, and Omega knew this was his only chance. He looked at the rest of those in the room, the prey, and hoped that they would understand this was their chance for freedom. The strange metal on their necks wouldn't stop him, not this time. Or at least that's what he told himself as he lunged forwards towards the one in the lead, hoping the human had expected that all of the fight had gone out of the Pokemon in the chamber. It almost had after all...

Ah! What was this?! The explosions, the booms. Something was happening. Fly! Fly way! She stretches her wings to fly, but unfortunately fails miserably at such a tactic. The Starly could only watch in catatonic horror as the door once more opened. Ah. What a terrifying man. Maybe if she stayed real still she could-
That was when the Mightenya attacked. Oh! Perhaps this could be... Yes!
A surge of energy and vigor renewed the exhausted Starly. This would be the final effort! This would be it! She rises again and... Immediately tumbles over into a heap. As it turns out, spending all of your energy on completely fruitless ventures to try to get a collar off was not the best idea. The poor thing continues to stagger forward however it can, but it's pretty clear that she has completely tuckered herself out. Revenge... Sweet revenge was still oh so far away.

Even the illusions of fighting to be free were stripped away in that moment, Omega's lunge provoking a sudden beeping from his collar, not the pleasant beeping of Muku's peers, but something mechanical, logical, sinister. Before fangs could touch a human, the smell of burning hair and flesh rose in the air. The canine was wracked with spasms, frothed at the muzzle and struggled valiantly to rise and fight even as the others were herded along to this new chamber. When the horror was over, the Mightyena couldn't move under his own power anymore.
It mattered to none of the humans as they threw him bodily into this new cage. It had no window, but there was a blue thing on the ceiling. Omega was conscious, but barely. The ralts rested a small hand on his forehead and offered what emotional comfort it could. The Wimpod moved to the center of the room and stared up at the blue thing.

"Not too bright, are we?" Thel quips at the Mightyena. Despite their situation, there's a sense of satisfaction in seeing the larger predator be humbled. "There's no way you'd have been able to get through them all, anyways." Privately, he's glad he elected to not go for that snack, else he'd probably have ended up the same way. While he keeps eyeing the Wimpod, it's with much greater caution.
...and now, back to same old, same old. Confines, with no chance of escape. Once more, Thel sprawls out on the floor, waiting.

But a few moments later, a soft feathery bowl of down is also unceremoniously punted tossed into the room. Her body shivered with cold fright.
She wasn't able to do anything when one of the humans picked her up. Everything thing said get away or fight, but her body froze. The smell of hair and warm flesh was just too terrifying. Whatever happened to the Mightyenya, she didn't want it happening to her. No. Not ever. Not ever, ever, ever. But she should have done something! Anything. Now they were all trapped in this... Place? She quivered. Somehow the pale room seemed safer than this one.
Somehow, she pulls herself together, and forces herself upright. "Is... Is he alright?" The Starly peeps nervously from a distance. After moment, she asks further, "What place is this? I don't like this at all!"

With a wince, Omega attempted to bring himself up before falling back to the ground and glaring at the lizard "Someone had to do something. Some of aren't just content to die in here like a coward" The Dark type snarls at Thel. Though deep down, he was a coward. Which is exactly why he ended up fighting back. He was scared of dying now, scared of dying alone, surrounded by nothing but prey. Though he had to admit, the little Ralts did manage to sooth his emotions a little bit. Maybe not all of them were prey.
Turning towards the Starly he once more tries to stand before collapsing "I'm fine. I just can't move. Or fight" His voice sounds defeated as he lay on the ground

"Your... Your hair is burnt." The small bird peeps sagely, approaching a little closer. "Some of my family were the same way... They beeped and beeped and then, that beeped and beeped and..."
She shivers, a full body quake. Oh no, her brothers, her sisters. Why? What do they even want? Why were doing this?! Why haven't they just ate them or something! Trilililii! An inflamed warble chokes out the Starly's throat. Her head jerks about in a crazed manner. No! Bad! Bad bad bad!

Beyond those tight confines, destiny and chance conspired.
"Sir, the machine needs time to warm up. There is no way it can operate at this scale all at once."
"Time is not a liberty we have right now. My men are delaying our intruders as best they can, but it won't be forever. Set it to full power, then fall back. We will recover the data remotely."
"Understood."
The blue thing began to flicker and pulse with an inner light that shone colder, and colder with each flash. There was a palpable energy in the air. As it approached an arctic white, there was an intense buzzing and it attacked. The first blow did not land.
Wimpod, cowardly as the thing had been, could hear the beeping in his antennae, hide glittering as a shield of translucent crystal held the light at bay for precious seconds. It was a moment of hope even as the collar set the insect to curling up. Another explosion somewhere distant, and a claxon began just outside. The blue thing became red, angry, as the shield crumbled away. The light fell.
It was not the oblivion the Pokemon expected, every fiber of their beings drinking in power. Outlines flickered and expanded, suggesting evolution. The sea of white consumed it all.
When it at last faded, five humans lay nude and confused. Strewn about the floor of the chamber.

Cold. He's very, very cold. That's the first thing Thel notices after the flash. It was bad enough without the fires of his kin, but now he cannot even feel his own. The air tastes dull and dead, too. He can't smell anything from it...
Everything feels wrong. He doesn't want to open his eyes, because then maybe that wrongness will go aw- okay, no, who is he kidding. Begrudgingly, he accepts that life doesn't work like that, and opens his eyes. It really doesn't help clear things up. In fact, it makes them more confusing, because he's now lying amongst a bunch of humans.
Thankfully, they don't seem to be too focused on him, so may be he can sneak aw- nope. Apparently his body has decided to be unwieldy, and... oh. Finally looking down at himself, he notices that he's apparently joined the crowd of humans. That bit of information causes him pause. A lot of pause, actually. He isn't quite sure how to react, and just... freezes up. While he tries to figure out what this means, how this happened, he falls back on looking at the other humans, and watching to see what they do...

Muku awoke.
Her talons scratched at the floors idly, stunned by the display of light and confusion. The Wimpod, the Wimpod did... Something. Or tried to. Tried to hold back the light. But it came, and it shown and- Ah-
Everything was blurry. Her eyes looked about in a confused, bleary haze. Something was wrong with this picture. Her eyesight was never this bad. Never! It was always something her species could pride herself on. But not only that, she felt naked. Like, a plucked clean sort of naked after a bad molt. And her talons were all off. No. That didn't make any sense. Actually wait. Even the very idea of this sort of thinking made no sense. Had she always thought this much? She was always so small, and now everything seemed so big and- Hang on.
Vision pierces through the haze of white snow and the world begins to come into focus. She wasn't alone. Humans. One was nearby, and odd one, blackish hair with a strange, almost purplish look to his eyes. Watching. And... Naked?
Muku shrieks back, gasping for air as she crawls hands and knees to- Hands and knees. For the first time she looks down at her body and trembles. What- What WAS she?! She tries to force the words, and a choking, "Who are you?!", erupts from her lips like a fiery cannon. Her body tenses up menacingly. She didn't know how to work this body yet, but she swore to Arceus, if this bastard tried anything he was going to catch a body full of pain.

Instinctively, Thel recoils, knowing that this is a female human, and he's now a human... and that she seems very, very angry. "Thel, I'm Thel..." he stammers out, tensing up, ready to receive the blow that he's sure is about to come. Speaking feels odd, off. "Don't hurt me, Lady," he pleads, "please..." He internally winces at his moment of weakness. Begging just invites more pain.

"But I'm not a lady! I'm a Pokémon! Muku the Starly!" Muku protests, waving her floppy wing equivalents in an exasperated rage. Except, she wasn't- This wasn't real! She was sure of it! This wasn't normal! Liar! Liar liar liar!

Omega stood up, his new two legged form being wobbly, but he forced himself to not fall. He couldn't show weakness. Not again. He shivered, his body no longer wrapped in fur, instead being naked. His fangs gone, as were his claws, replaced with strange flat teeth and paws that had more dexterity but less killing potential, at least to his perception.
Holding himself against the wall to stop the wobbling, he looks at two who seem to be arguing "Silence. The both of you. This is no time for grovelling or...whatever it is that you're doing with your arms. We need to move." He took a tentative step forward, and then another, before collapsing to his knees. Walking would take some getting used to.
"Thel, Muku. The other two of you. I am Omega. And we are going to be free again now." With that he began to try and open the door they had been thrown through.
