Trapped or not. Blake couldn't argue with Silas's reasoning. Plus he was curious what this Nephilim would go through all the trouble to plant. And all the mystique revealed a rather ordinary looking collar. Bit of a let down. Still the smashed crystals reveal that it's anything but ordinary. Thoron's pointed question all but confirms it. Whatever 'this' was, Blake was going to prevent it.
"We'll just have to be careful then. I don't intend for any of us to be a casualty in our time serving." He'd lost much of his joviality as the implications of the package had become clear. It hit all too close to home.
It hadn't entirely returned by the time that they set out for the headquarters. "Hmm...Oh yes. I can wait just a little longer. Giving the report won't kill me." Blake flashes a small smile.

Silas stares at the Nephilim's 'gift package'. There are plenty of things it could mean, but the most important is that Nephilim is claiming responsibility for the death of Cain's team. That implies association with the Silvally and the Pokemon increase from their last mission. Not to mention that it'd be a lot easier to pull all of this off with access to psychic teleportation circles.
Not taking his eyes off of the smashed collar, Silas responds. "I'm not sure if it's a threat, but it's definitely an attack. It's probably safest to just throw this thing down the Shaft, but..." He pauses, trying to remember some of the books he's been working through. Learning medicine was difficult, but psychology is so much worse. "I think we'll want to deliver this carefully. If we just drop the mess on a his desk, it'll probably go badly."

With the group in agreement, they return to Technician HQ for the debriefing. Cain once more is there waiting for them, sitting at a table. "So, that was good work out there," he says. "For the most part, there wasn't too much damage, and it was all handled fairly swiftly. Hopefully there are a good number of captures, too, to drop off afterwards." He leans back. "So, there was something about those attacks. Your P*DA informed me that there was a set of coordinates revealed... what did you end up finding there?"

Blake stands up straight at the debriefing; straining to hold himself upright through the 'slight' inconvenience of his injuries. He hesitates as he considers how to respond to the question, instead choosing to focus on the more concrete aspects. "We managed to capture several specimens. Hopefully they prove interesting. The coordinates and Pokemon were sent by some Nephilim. A group or a person...we're unsure. They seem to be trying to sow some discord for a purportedly noble purpose. Bit of a blowhard if you ask me. As for what we found...maybe one of you could explain better?"

'Don't drop it suddenly' seemed like a good idea in theory. In practice, important matters were... Important. "For an as yet unknown reason, the Pokemon had split into three groups, each carrying a signed note from this 'Nephilim', yes. There was nothing significant about the location itself, but they had left a fourth message there..."
Any more stalling would be noticeable, so now was the time to carefully drop- no, delicately reveal the news? Thoron resumed after a moment, "Though, the written message was just more vapid noise. I would agree with Blake's analysis, and add that Nephilim has a disagreeable personality and a flair for taunts and harassment."

Silas does his best not to sigh as his teammate's delivery. Perhaps he should bear some blame for it, but 'deliver this carefully' still means that you make the delivery. "We believe it is a psychological attack, targeted at you, sir." He pauses for a few seconds, giving Cain a chance to prepare himself and maybe interrupt. "It claims to be a remnant of your old team. Would you like to see it?"

"I see," Cain says, nodding at Thoron and Blake's reports. "Well, we'll have to see what can be gleaned from that. Coordination in these matters is disconcerting, but we don't have much to go on yet."Cain's face at Silas' statement doesn't visibly change, but the time it takes him to respond means that undoubtedly he's trying to process things. "Yes," he says at last. "Let's see it." Wordlessly, he accepts the box from Silas, takes out the collar, and look it over, turning it gingerly around in his hands. "I see." The Captain nods, face still stoic. "Yes, I know exactly what this is saying." He places the item back in the box, and stands up. "Alright. Thank you for this. Drop the 'mon you caught off, and then you are dismissed. Take a little time to relax. If you need to contact me, I'm afraid that I will probably be unavailable for the next little while." With that, Cain leaves the room. Each of you gain 10 Trainer Levels, and may boost your Pokémon up to level 50. In addition, you may gain any one Pokémon in the PokéDex that is not a Legendary/UB, Rotom, Porygon, Ditto, Shedinja, Wynaut or Smeargle.
