Sounds to Justin like a very faint version of a female Nidoran's cry. Turns out he's correct. When Asa parts the bushes, she sees two badly injured Pokémon - a Nidoran♀ and a Hoppip. They have the black and purple markings of Pokémon that have been hit with Dark-type attacks, no doubt the work of the Absol when it was berzerk.

Asa
The young researcher held the brush back but made no effort to advance on the injured Pokémon. "They look pretty beat up. Do you want to take them with us?" She looked first to Justin and then to Bo. Her relatively flat tone held little sympathy and it seemed as she wasn't particularly interested in having to care for even more wounded.

They certainly don't look like they'd be able to fight you if you decided to take them with you. In fact, they probably wouldn't be able to fend off a Poké Ball, either, if anyone wanted to just capture them.

Asa
"Well..." Asa shook her head and sighed again. Her conscious seemed to get the best of her callousness. "We were charged with returning the Absol, which means we're also responsible for cleaning up the mess it made. We'll take them to the Center."
She knelt down and retrieved two Pokeballs, booping each of the injured Pokémon on the nose in turn. Once she had captured them, she tossed the boys each one. "You've already got a Nidoran, Bo. You should be able to train this one to be strong too. Justin, I don't have any interest in either of them so you take the other one."

Asa boops 'em and they're caught with no effort at all. (Nidoran♀ & Hoppip added to Pokédex.) The she gifts them to Bo and Justin.
The trip back to the PokéCenter is uneventful. Nurse Joy is appalled at the sight of the Absol.
"Oh, no. It's so sad. Do you happen to have the horn that this Pokémon is missing?"

Asa
Asa pointed to the bag of black powder when the nurse asked her question. "The criminals dropped this during the battle. The Absol seemed pretty attached to it even in it’s confusion. We assumed that it’s the powdered horn but had no way of knowing. Is there anything you can do if it is?"

Joy takes the bag and pours a very small sample out onto some kind of box with no top and a clear base. She waits as info appears on a screen.
"Just as I thought," she says. "This is confirming the powder to contain Absol DNA. It's likely the horn. Okay. I know what we can do. Follow me."
She puts as much of the powder back into the bag as she can and then heads across the room. You follow. She stops at a large table that looks like it's designed to retract into a large, tubular chamber that is recessed into the wall. She pulls a treat from one of the pockets on her apron and the Absol eats it, almost immediately falling asleep afterward.
"It should sleep for as long as we need now," she says. "Please pick it up and place it on the table."
After you do, Joy pours out all of the powder next to its head and then shapes it as best she can into the shape of the horn.
"This machine is for Pokémon that aren't in their Poké Balls," she explains. "With the powdered horn there in the right spot and in the right shape, hopefully the machinery inside just sees it as a damaged horn and heals it like it would any other injury."
She turns the machine on and the table retracts into the chamber, door sliding shut once it's all the way in.
"That'll take a while," she says. "It's more intensive than the machine that heals them from inside their Poké Balls. It'll need an hour."

Justin is quick to resummon the Hoppip after receiving its ball from Asa, treating it with the second of his two hyper potions. He couldn't heal its injuries, and it likely would have been fine in its Pokeball, but he felt the need to administer to it anyway, and to comfort it, carrying the light bulb Pokemon in his arms as they walk, and talking calmly to it.

At the Pokemon Center, he gave Nurse Joy the Pokeball to finish Hoppip's treatment, and the bag of horn dust when she asked. While they waited, he went outside and summoned Laius. The Pokemon had grown stronger after their trip through the desert, and so it wasn't a small orange fish that appeared, but instead a ferocious blue serpent, his head a full two stories off the ground. Justin placed his hand on the side of the Gyarados, and together, they stood guard in front of the Center.4d6+3

Bo was a bit frozen at first when the two injured Pokemon revealed themselves in the brush, cowering a bit, and looking a bit bruised. He was still so on edge that he really did not even know how to react at firt. Luckily Asa seemed on point, and with a hasty toss, caught the two, handing off the female Nidoran to Bo. "Oh..I...Yeah, sure thing..thanks." He replied, as he held the ball in his hands for a few moments, before following after the other to the center. 'Get your head back into the game. Can't be jumping at every little thing. Just cause you struggled at the gym does not mean you are not prepared for other stuff. Long as I got Toks and the rest, and I take just a moment to think, even whatever this strong pokemon this wierd organization has will just be a puzzle to solve....even if its by running away.'He did not even really realize that they were already at the center, and he blinked in surprise. "Oh, uh, right I should...maybe in a minute." he mumbled, staying outside the center as the other two went and set the Absol up to be treated. He took out the Nidoran's ball, and took a breath, popping it open around the side, where it was quiet, and holding out one of his small Sitrus berries to the Nidoran. Justin did this often. maybe would be a good idea for him to try..since he did not catch this one, and it was..well a bit terrified seeming after its prior run-in. "Hey there girl, nice to meet you. Here, this will make you feel a bit better. Just wanted to say hello, before I let you take a quick nap to feel better." It felt a bit odd saying it all but....at least his heart was behind it? Asa
The young researcher watched the machine that Nurse Joy operated. "I didn't know this type of thing existed anywhere outside of labs. Justin, this is very similar to how fossil tech works, just on a micro scale. It reads and replicates the DNA data to repair damage. I bet if a more powerful processor was installed to fill in the sequence gaps, even this machine could reconstruct fossilized Pokémon. That's really amazing!"
She was so wrapped up in watching the machine work that she didn't even notice Justin had left until her Pokedex registered new information showing his Magikarp had evolved. Somewhat reluctantly, Asa went back outside and checked her watch. "Bo, Justin, if you guys going to stay at the Center, I'll go make the report to Officer Jenny." She seemed to sense that Justin desired to stand guard over the injured Pokémon and Bo seemed like he was making good on the bonding with his new friend.

"I wish," Nurse Joy says. "But, as it is right now, this machine still requires a mostly-intact living specimen to function properly. It can't create something new, it can only read what is in the chamber and bring it back to as close to 100% as it can."
As if on cue, Officer Jenny shows up, nearly crashing into Asa as she tries to exit the Center.
"Excuse me! The elderly couple who own the house that was robbed have returned! I thought you'd like to know!"

Asa
Asa let out a squeak of surprise as she nearly collided with the officer. When Jenny shared the information, she gave a curt bow of her head. "Thank you. I'll go speak to them right away."
Asa left the Center and made her way directly to speak with the couple. Upon arriving, she paused to catch her breath and compose herself. She smoothed her clothing and hair before approaching and giving a deep bow. "I am deeply sorry for all of the misfortune you have suffered. Absol is with Nurse Joy at the Center. We retrieved the horn that was removed during the attack on your home, but the criminals escaped with the contents of the safe. If it is not too private, could you share what was inside? It might help police discern their motive and next actions."

The small nidoran seemed to accept the berry with only a small wary look, nibbling on it, before eagerly chomping down on it, as the small berry started to, if not heal, at least dull the aches that the pokemon was suffering from its blows. As Asa came back out, he nodded and gently rubbed the Nidoran on it's brow.
"Sure, I'll get this one healed up as well." before recalling the little Nidoran, and taking it inside. Walking to the counter, he gave both the Female nidoran, and his Nidorino to the Nurse to heal up, before he went to take a seat in the lobby, taking out his father's old textbook to read. Maybe it would be a good idea to expand some of his knowledge some more? The Pester balls were all well and good, but perhaps would be a good idea how to make some things like potions and other things instead?

Outside the Center, an extra-large Dragonite with a saddle big enough to hold two passengers side by side stands on the grass. The old couple, wearing adorable floral-print vacation clothes with their suitcases still on the ground beside them, stand talking to the police.
The first thing they do thank Asa for saving their precious Absol. "We're so grateful for what you and your friends were willing to do. Thank you."
"A small collection of highly valuable items," the man says in response to Asa's question. "Things that I couldn't bring myself to sell back when I had my business. An ancient Golett harness. A Starmie jewel, green in color. A petrified Dusclops eye. A fossil fragment. Just random curios, mostly. And nothing worth my Absol's life. I don't care about any of the stuff. I'm just happy that my sweet Pokémon is okay. Thank you again."

Asa
Asa took stock of the list of items that the man mentioned were inside the safe. "Do you happen to know what the specific fossil was?"
It seemed to the young researcher that their goal was pretty clear, but she still didn't know how they intended to revive their assembled fossil if the only machine was in this town.

"Well, yes and no, dear. You see, it was only a fragment, a piece of a much larger whole. Back in my heyday I was chasing down any myth and legend that I could learn about, and one story in particular piqued my interest. It was the story of an undiscovered fossil, much larger than normal ones, but also much more brittle. It was said that an intact specimen was never discovered, so the prehistoric Pokémon sleeping in the fossils was doomed to never see the world again. However, it was rumored that if enough fragments were collected and assembled together, the Reanimation Machines might have a chance at reviving the Pokémon after all. But the fragments were so rare, so hard to find. I spent my whole life searching for the one that was stolen. Well, it's probably for the best, actually," he chuckles. "There was a smaller rumor that a fossil that large would revive a Pokémon so terribly powerful that it might bring ruin to the world. Guess it's a good thing I never found any more pieces, eh? You seem quite keen on fossils, young lady. Are they something of importance to you?"

Asa
The young woman gave a frustrated sigh. The criminals were not done then. Brought back from her thoughts about possible locations of pieces by the man's question, she offered a smile. "You could say that it's my passion, my life's work." While it was the truth, it felt a little silly saying that to a person so much senior to herself.
"I've found three fossils while in this region. I'm waiting on the lab to revive the first two." She added just to mark the point that she wasn't some young know-nothing kid who liked the idea of fossils.

"Quite impressive," the old gentleman says. "Stop by our house later. I believe I have the perfect way to say thank you. Farewell for now."
He walks away to rejoin his wife and finish answering the police officers' questions. They look like they're close to finishing up with the house.
Bo and Justin's Pokémon respond well to them, showing signs of adoration already. One uppity police officer yells at Justin to put his Gyarados away while in the city limits. Bo struggles, as usual, to wrap his mind around his father's work. The notes help, and he makes a little progress, but only because of the genuine effort he puts into it.

Asa
Asa nodded her head in understanding, retuning directly to the boys and explaining what she had learned.
She stopped by the shop before returning to relax for a few moments seeming to savor the quiet before tossing Bo one of the balls off her belt. "You’re the Poison guy, so I think Blitz will be happiest with you. I’ll have my fossils for tomorrow when I challenge the gym so I need to thin out my ranks."
Asa turned to Justin. "Are there any that you’d be interested in? You really don’t have a type that I can tell." She exposed the Munna she had captured on Route 1 to a stone she had purchased, just to register it in the Pokédex as she waited for his answer.

The notes were...dense, but helpful. Maybe he should start buying some more books to help broaden his view. Medicine would not be a bad avenue to go down, especially if the gaps between towns as they traveled got any larger. When he was just finishing up, Asa walked back into the place, and threw him a ball. "H-huh? Oh...uh..thank you Asa?" he said, more than a bit confused at how brusquely she just handed over one of her Pokemon to him. I mean she was not wrong. He had kinda been mildly jealous of the fact she had the Beedrill. "I'll take care of him...might actually have some things I want to try then. Though I may need your help Justin, since you know your way better around Pokemon. I'll be back in a few minutes." He said getting up and transferring the Beedrill to his Box using the center's terminal, and heading out to the nearest mart. When he finally made it there, he quickly started to scour the shelves, gathering up a few Collection Jars, as well as a couple of repels, and some cheap, plastic toys, before heading back. 4 Collection jars - 400 2 Repels - 400 Plastic Toys - 200
Total: 1000
Plastic toys, once more are for breaking apart, and using as cheap, plastic casings and such for his pester balls, so consider them part of my 'reagents' budget. Repels I plan to break down for more 'reagents', and the Collection jars...I will get to later.
