The ride down into the Grand Line was as exhilarating as the ride up. Faster and faster and faster, the little ship managing to hold itself together, if only barely, by the pitch in its seams and the pins in its timber. The speed was intense, the forces practically pressing the crew against the rails. As they emerged from the cloud cover and mists, they were greeted by the lights of the Twin Peaks lighthouses. A place to stop and gather your bearings before pushing further into the Grand Line.

As the ship crested the top of the mountain Raúl looked on in wonder. THIS is what pirates saw when they entered the Grand Line? No wonder they seemed to have an almost mystical reverence for it sometimes. All Raúl had seen when entering it before was miles of calm water. He hung on tightly to the rigging as the ship began its downward trajectory, he felt almost weightless for a few brief moments. Seemingly suspended in the rainbow spray full of glacial flakes. As fast as it had hit he was once again firmly planted on the deck of the ship. As the downward momentum pulled at him he continued to hold on for dear life, hoping not to get thrown off as the wind wiped around him. He could just make out twin lighthouses twinkling below. As they drew closer the thought hit him. This was it. This was the real start of things, it was time to get started making a Pirate King. The end of the corruption at the top would start today. With these thoughts buzzing through his head and the exhilaration of the ships speed a hearty laugh burst from him.
"GWAHAHAHAHA!!"
He prepared himself to be ready for when they hit the bottom.

Rati had never liked the entrance into the Grand Line. Water and stone, the excessive speed. She had already subtly bound herself to the tiller in a hammock of fine threads, her stance going unbroken on the trip down. The wind burnt at her eyes, and her heart thundered in her ears. One mistake here and they'd all die spectacularly.

The sheer speed was exhilarating. Io had never moved anywhere near this quickly before, having, quite reasonably, avoided falling great heights. As a result Io had a massive grin splayed across her face, even as doubts niggled at her mind. After all, they were one step away from death. Io cast away these doubts quite quickly. While the destination was of great importance, the journey could be said to be even greater, and this was the true start of her journey to become the strongest. Perhaps the Grand Line was the place that could heal her soul and relieve her of her burdens, perhaps that would never happen. Either way, as Io beheld the lights of the Twin Peaks lighthouses, she reaffirmed her convictions. Go big, because you can never go home.

"Got to say, that is quite the ride" Aikan said mostly to himself as he picked himself back up after bouncing across the floor a couple times after the landing. "Fun but I sure am glad we don't have to do it again"
He walked up to the Salty Mudkip's caprail and jumped up, waiting for the rest to decide where to set the anchor and dock the vessel. "So, when are we placing this lovely lady to rest and going ashore to restock"

The combined adrenaline rush and the awe of the sight they were witnessing had C.C. practically exploding with a sense of fulfillment. This. This was the pirate adventure he'd been searching for. As they hang there in the air for a moment a smug grin forms on his face, that is until they started their descent. Then he held on to the the nearest thing attached to the ship for dear life.
"We...We did it! We just climbed reverse mountain! That..was..incredible. We have to do that again!" He looks around at the others, checking to see how they fared after the wild ride. "Well, we aren't quite finished yet." He quickly makes his way over to his table and plots out the rest of their path before returning. "But we don't have far to go."

Rati was a little green, disengaging from the wheel. Much of her grace was lost, wobbling towards belowdecks with a hand splayed against her forehead. "I'm going to go have a lie down, someone else can take the wheel for a little bit. We need a more experienced helmsman if anyone wants to go back." Her laugh was weak, high and nervous as she disappeared.

"Don't think going back's gonna be possible, Rati" Aikan snarked. "We're rather committed now, methinks"

C.C. frowns. "Go back? Now why would we want to do that?" He get's a wild look on his eyes. "We've just barely started. There's so much more adventure out there waiting for us!"

Raúl stared as Rati let go of the wheel and strolled downstairs. A nap!? Sure, they might need a more experienced helmsman but now wasn't the time to abandon her post. He gave Io a wink as he clomped his way over to the wheel, he hadn't done much steering but it would be better than seeing the boat drift into the Calm Belt or turn onto the Red Line.
"I agree that it's a bit late to turn around now, moving forward will be our best bet. We're going to need to get some supplies if we want to keep going forward though. Shall we take a stop at the Lighthouses before we fully enter the Line?"

"I think Rati meant in the future," Io interjects with a slight bemused smile, wondering why Raul was winking at her. "Anyway, stopping at the Lighthouses sounds good to me."

"Gwahahaha! This is the Grand Line lass. The only way out is through the Calm Belt or the Red Line, even if we focused on finding a way through either we'd be at it for months. I assume most of us will have wanted posters of some kind now so we're not getting out on any Marine or World Government vessel. So the only thing we can do for now is push on through or find an island we like. Either way, I'll take us in then."
Raúl guided the ship to whatever area the lighthouses had that could be used to dock.

"Those of us that didn't probably do now. I swear, marine photographers seem to catch a picture of literally anyone who faces the marines, no matter how ridiculous the conditions" Aikan grumbled.

Rati settled into one of the hammocks, wrapped up in a blanket, and held herself. She let the facade drop away, and had a good cry. Reverse Mountain had been a living nightmare, and no amount of practice at the helm could have prepared her for what she'd just been through. Fast running water, with rocks everywhere. Would Aikan have been able to save her if she'd fallen in? There wasn't much she knew about fishmen, but his heart seemed to be in the right place.
The woman drifted off into an uneasy sleep.

As the ship drifts in to dock, you're met by an old man with a lined face, wearing a hat that vaguely reminds you of some kind of flower. He looks somewhere between impressed and perturbed as the ship gently slips into the open space. Leaning down, he tosses up a hawser. "Not often I see anyone foolish or brave enough to try and ride Reverse Mountain in a ship this small. Name's Crocus, I'm the keeper for the lighthouses here."
Beyond Crocus, you can see that there's a small sturdy cabin set up higher on the rock, while a trail wends its way off and behind it. There's a flash of green there, bushes perhaps?

"I'm Io," the warrior priestess introduced herself. "These are my companions, Raul, C.C. and Aikan. We're in need of supplies; food, drink and other essentials." She smiles charmingly at the elderly man. "Are these able to be acquired here?"

Raúl looked the man up and down, the guy looked like a decent sort. When Io introduces him Raúl gave Crocus a big grin.
"Nice ta meetcha. It's not what I would have preferred to use to cross the Redline but sometimes you have to make do."

C.C. takes a moment to let everything sink in. He had just successfully crosses reverse mountain. His studying certainly had paid off. "We still made it through alright. I think I may have lost a lung on the way down though." His attempt at making a joke.

"Well, s'not like the other options were much better. Fishman Island's pretty hostile to humans, the Calm Belt is a minefield and I've heard it's pretty ugly at the top" Aikan added. "Plus, this is the traditional way of doing it"

Crocus smiles in a paternal manner at Io once she asks her questions. "Well miss I've got some food I can share, and there's more to be gathered in some of the meadows up higher on the Red Line in this area. There's a freshwater stream and a pond too if you need water."
His face takes on a more assessing look as he turns to Raul and the others. "As for other supplies, you'll have to tell me what you're looking for, and I might be able to help you. Some ships don't make it through the mountain intact, and a lot of their debris washes up on the beach," he gestures towards one of the lighthouses. "I've got a nice little stockpile. And there's a variety of mon around here, a lot of sailors tend to either let their mon loose when it looks like they won't make it, or their pokeballs wash up and they get loose then. They're not all the way feral, but they're not domesticated anymore by any means, so watch yourselves."
