The Emerald Tentacool collapses, clearly spent from the ravages of the fight. As you all look around you realise that the pink mist is thinning as the docks of Seagarden come into view and the boat horn sounds.
The people out back earn 49xp for their pokemon and 1 trainer xp.. (Tentacool and tentacruel encounter) The people out front earn 74xp for their pokemon and 1 trainer xp. (Frillish & Jellicent encounter)

After a relaxing day exploring the delights of the Seagarden Resort and a calm trip back to Sandgem, the four of you arrive back at Professor Rowan's lab flush with success after exploring the sunken temple and discovering what could be an ancient precursor to the Red Chain imprisoning a monstrously mutated Inkay. The lab itself is full of activity, with aides and interns standing by monitors and enclosures to take notes on new subjects and trainers relating their experiences with the mutated pokemon. Professor Rowan walks out of his office into the large shared lab space closely followed by Imogen, who Shoko and Karla both recognise as one of the other trainers. "Ah one of our successful groups returns." The Professor says with a rare smile. "Aside from you four and Imogen's group we've either had mixed successes or outright failures to find the reported mutants." He says, returning to a frown. "That's pretty understandable. Me and the others found that hundred-handed Machamp beyond the deepest tunnels of Iron Island as it tried to dig its way to the main land and the fight took most of us and our pokemon out. Anyone less lucky or prepared would've had to retreat way earlier or face dire consequences." Imogen says, a contemplative look apearing on her face before she perks up and grabs her camera. "Anyway, you conquering heroes should smile. This needs go on display here in the lab, so everyone can know what success looks like." She says, snapping a quick picture of you all.

Evie has, thankfully, more or less managed to put the annoying woman with a fear of Pokémon out of her mind. She's pretty sure it was just the woman's fear, because if she expects every Pokémon a kid sees to be certified then she is in for a nasty shock when her son sets about training himself.
She's caught a little off-guard, but Imogen gets... something resembling a smile for the picture, at least. It's subtle, but at least it's obvious that she isn't frowning, which is sometimes an accomplishment for Evie.
Once the picture is done, she sighs and inclines her head toward Karla and Shoko. They're the ones who know the most about the situation - if there's anything special they need to report, they're the ones to do it. She only came in at the end for beating up the Inkay, after all. "So what now?"

Cassandra mysteriously vanished when the camera appeared; reappearing in an equally mysterious manner once it was gone. Apparently having her photo taken isn't something she is keen on...or something like that. The only response one would get asking about it is a noncommittal grunt, or a quick change in subject... or perhaps even a withering glare depending on how often one had asked. Aside from all that, she is ready and willing to begin their next mission.

Shoko did her best to remain expressionless, her default emotion, despite how irritated she was at not being asked for permission first. She turned to the Professor, ignoring her inner ire, and asked for the details on the locations where other parties had failed to find any leads. "Also, have you found any new leads? If not I would like to investigate the failed sites. Regardless, unless my fellow contemporaries are in need of rest, I would like to continue traveling towards something."
Shoko paused for a moment before continuing, "Unless, that is.... you have any new information you've learned from the data you've been sent. If so, I'd also like to study these before moving on..." Shoko pulled out the star gem fragment and both crescent red gem fragments, "but new specimen could be waiting... though the data from these might prove valuable..."
At some point Shoko continued rambling on eventually settling on mumbling to herself.

Karla makes sure to turn and spoil her place in the picture. A good photo of her is worth hundreds, and she's had enough papparazi in her life to let someone just take a good picture of her.
Once the photo is taken she addresses the professor. "I hope the samples and data we sent is useful to you. Have they led to any discoveries?" She considers Shoko's words and then frowns at herself. The research is not the most important to the team right now... "Those failed groups, is that because the mutants weren't there or they couldn't handle them?"

The Professor nods at your questions. "Our goal now is to get you ready for your next expedition. Unfortunately we have no new leads, but most of the other leads are still worth investigating. We know the mirrored Aurorus are moving south and are artificially generating an aurora as they do, that there's at least one Mega Trevenant animating much of Eterna Forest and Solaceon Town says that the Unown seem to be fusing with the wild pokemon nearby. We could also get permission for you to investigate and capture whatever is rampaging in Pastoria Marsh - it seems that something has taken a dislike to the mangroves." He says, addressing Evie and Shoko. "Unfortunately we haven't had many immediate results from our studies of the crystal fragments and mutants you found, which is disappointing but to be expected. Science is a slow but inexorable march into the future. We should have a pokeball specialised in capturing mutants ready within the next few days so that should be useful for you. And it seems the failures were mostly due to unprepared teams being overwhelmed by their quarry, or in the case of the Aurorus pair were forced to retreat due to the blizzard following them." He continues, addressing Karla as well.

"Hm." Evie's face settles into a thoughtful frown as she considers their options. "My vote would be for Solaceon." The Trevenant in Eterna Forest sounds like it's going to be another frustrating opponent she can't lay hands on, like the Inkay. Dealing with the Aurorus would require a lot of careful preparation, especially since half of her team is weak to Ice even without the blizzard aiding them. And she isn't fond of the idea of going into the Great Marsh with so little information. Evie isn't extraordinarily well-apprised of the quirks of Unown, but she's more confident of her team's ability to handle Psychic-types than any of the other prospective opponents.
She glances around at the others, silently asking their opinion on the matter. She hopes she doesn't find herself outvoted, but of course the others have their own useful skillsets. Maybe they can shore her up in the places where she's weak.

"If the timeframe permits, we wait for the experimental ball. Regardless, Solaceon should prove fruitful." Shoko looks to Karla and Cassandra, "do you two have reasons to go elsewhere?"

"Well I would be less hampered than some while dealing with those Aurorus, but as long as they're not going to hit any towns soon that can probably wait a little while. Beyond that I'm as useful anywhere."

"I've been to the Great Marsh before on occasion. I can easily aid in its navigation. With the right preparation, we could potentially even track down and deal with the Aurorus, though I suspect we'd want to have a way to deal with the blizzard to even begin to consider that. All that said, I have no preference. I suspect we'll be dealing with most of these issues eventually anyway."
This is probably the most anyone has heard Cassandra speak the entire time she's been with the group! Le gasp!

"Then, I propose we head to Solaceon, due to little preparation requirements needed. On route, we can begin to collect necessary gear for heading into a blizzard should that problem still be around. However, I am open to alternate plans." Shoko turns to the professor, "I would still however like that pokeball you mentioned. Can you be more specific on that timeframe?"
Clearly in her comfort zone around other researchers (despite the massive age difference) Shoko begins to ramble slightly to the professor about the implications behind this kind of advancement in pokeball technology before realizing she's getting a bit too excited. She sheepishly dismisses herself to get a drink of water, "excuse, me. I'll return in a moment."

Evie looks a little bemused at Shoko's excitement - partly because she doesn't understand half of what Shoko is excited about - and shrugs her shoulders beneath her jacket. "Not much I need to do. I'm ready to go any time."
Well, ready for Solaceon, anyway. The blizzard is another story - if nothing else she's going to have to find some kind of winter gear. Though it's probably the next logical stop after Solaceon, close as it is. Really, Solaceon's central enough that they can hit any of the other events after that if they don't come back to the lab right away... and if the Aurorus get far enough south to interfere with that they'll suddenly be a much more pressing problem anyway.

Imogen smirks and nods confidently at Cassandra's words, clearly agreeing with the sentiment before starting to sort through her camera's memory. The Professor frowns at Cassandra's words but nods along, clearly pleased at your decisiveness. "Unfortunately we cannot be certain what we'll achieve with our research." He says to Shoko, stepping away to continue speaking to her. "Though the fragments of the Red Chain itself are stable and seemingly indestructible, the instability they induce in living things seems to extend to the data transformation and storage mechanisms that pokeballs rely on to work. We're being forced to deliberately mutate apricorns with the shards to produce a pokeball with the desired effects. The third crop should be ready in a few days, but I cannot be certain this crop will be safe."He explains, clearly frustrated by what his research hasn't produced.
Back with the group Imogen looks up as something occurs to her. "Oh hey, if you're heading towards Solaceon for those branded 'mons, see if you can catch a ghost type. Like a Duskull or something, I'd definitely be up for atrade. Or buying it outright if you aren't a purist." She says.

"See what I can do." Evie gives Imogen a thoughtful look. "What'd you be trading for it?" Evie isn't sure what she'd want to add to her team, though if nothing catches her attention money would be far from unwelcome of course.

Imogen pauses and tilts her head, clearly thinking about the question. "I can't offer you the Machoke or Lairon we found, Roland basically called dibs on that. But I could offer you a cutiefly egg - Zoe and Thorn really hit it off. Oh, or one of those adorable little Vuplix you can find in Alola - I was taking photos for a breeder's submission to a pedigree book or something end he should have one or two available. I've also been asked to help out a few cordinators up in Hearthome and they'll definitely have a few cuties I can get as payment. Really just give me an idea of what you want and I'll try and get it - every casual trainer loves having professional photos of their partners and I know a lot of casual trainers." She says, getting more enthusiastic about this than she has about other things before.

Evie doesn't look particularly impressed. This is normal, of course, but in this case it's because Imogen is making it pretty clear her taste in Pokémon is fairly different from Evie's own. Or, well, the taste Evie tries to project with her Pokémon, anyway. "I'll think about it. Doesn't have to be right away, right?"
Pity, really, she'd have kind of liked the Lairon. Maybe she'll have to see about making a trip out to Iron Island herself, though obviously now isn't the time.

"We'll see what we can find," shoko responds. "Your number?" Shoko readies her phone noting that this contact might prove useful later, despite their tendency to take non-consensual photos. "We'll contact you if we find something of interest."
Shoko turns to the others, "I might suggest we take a moment of rest, but we should head out soon after lest we wish to travel at night."
