This time, blinded by the initial blast of light, and the lingering brightness that still surrounded the Morelull, neither Fritz nor Baraz are able to land an attack.
The first mushroom Pokemon slumbers on, unaware of its companion's potential peril. The companion attempts to land a hit on the Steel Pokemon that has been crowding it.

This wasn't going well, it didn't seem like that attack that hit Fritz was hurt as much as the one that had hit him but Baraz knew they had to make some headway if they were going to win this. Having worked with Mezzo and combining their knowlege, they determined that whatever magics there were upon the tunnel that Baraz had entered, they were currently static and should in theory lead to the same place as Baraz. Considering he hadn't yet come back to see if they were following (if he even could come back?), Baraz could very well have landed in some trouble. Furthermore, it wasn't necessarily clear how long the maigics upon the tunnel would stay static, so it might be best that they move quickly. "Assuming this tunnel does lead to the same place consistently, I'm going after him. We should all probably go." He returned Moai to his ball, just to ensure that he would be on his person, and stepped through the tunnel entryway before either of the other two could agree or object. Hopefully their insights were correct...

Shrugging, Mezzo followed suit. Hatui had to be the one to go in first anyway, since he was the toughest in the group and he had a melee weapon. Confident that they would be brought to the same place, Mezzo spun his lute around into his hands, ready for possible danger.

Not wanting to be left alone, Zee walks through the barrier after Hatui and Mezzo, picking up both the Azurill and Lillette while stuffing her map in her bag. She wasn't included in their conversation, given that she didn't know much about magic or folklore, usually leaving that to Mezzo when it came about, so she had to trust that the others knew what they were doing.

The rest of the group pass through the barrier, each blinking into the darkness just as Baraz had. And, like Baraz, they appear on the other side of the tunnel instantaneously, standing around him in the second clearing. Before them are two Morelull, one sound asleep, and the other toppling over, succumbing to Baraz's attack.
As it did though, the first finally managed to wake up. Seeing it's companion asleep as it just was, it waddles over, and nudges it awake.
Baraz puts Morelull R to sleep. Morelull L succeeds on its sleep save, and uses its action to wake up Morelull R.

Hurrying through the barrier, Zee found herself on the other side of a room that had a pair of mushroom-like Pokemon, as well as Baraz, who seemed to be trying to fend them off. Without stopping for too long to consider, Zee urged Lillette forward. It looked as if these Pokemon were grassy enough, and even given her water typing, she had a few tricks up her sleeve. Dashing forward, the Ducklett assailed the nearest Pokemon with a diving tackle. Seeing Lilette dash ahead, Mezzo followed suit. He wasn't sure what these things were, but they definitely looked like Grass-types. Sadly, unlike Ducklett, Mezzo only knew moves that were not very effective. To make up for the type weakness, he moved to the other side to hit both at once. Having made it to the other side of the magical barrier, it turned out that Baraz was indeed in minor amounts of peril. Two little (presumably) grass type Pokemon were there trying to drain the life from those around them. As Moai was weak to grass and would serve as an HP sink for these little buggers, Hatui thought it best to leave him in his ball. Instead, Hatui ran forward and attempted to punt the mushroom that got hit by Ducklett with all of his strength. When Baraz sees the others walk through the portal he gives them and exasperated look and a sweeping wave of his hand as if to say "See this? This crap is what I've had to deal with". As the others begin to make short work of one of the little fungi Baraz decides that he's in a safe enough place to actually attack. Lashing out with a resonating crack he grins as the whip strikes the target. Unsure of what to do other than give the weak-looking Pokemon a smacking, Zee hurries up and kicks the fungi. She felt a little silly doing it, as she was completely untrained in combat. In fact, it seemed more likely than anything that she would pull a muscle in the process, or worse, get turned on by the mushrooms. After Zee's attack, the last Morelull barely clings to consciousness. With it's last bit of energy, it turns its face to the sky, and begins to shimmer, seeming to absorb the very air. Then, it turns and runs.
Morelull uses Moonlight! And everyone gets AoO on it if they want them.

With Baraz's missed attack, the little mushroom Pokemon was able to escape into the forest. The dense undergrowth, which looked impenetrable to the humans that were left behind, seemed to absorb the Morelull. The group was left with a clearing identical to the one they had just left, save the unconscious Morelull, and the grey elliptical stone laying in the black dirt.

Baraz brushed himself off, taking out a potion and attending to himself quickly. Glancing at Fritz he checked its condition, it didn't seem to have been wounded much in the fight. He fought down a rising anger at the cogs, they really hadn't served him well there but with the others here it wouldn't serve to go off on it. Calming himself down he gave it an icy comment as he rubbed his temples.
"I understand that was not your fault but I expect better from you in future."
Pulling out the Pokeball containing the fungus he sighed, after that beating, he really wasn't sure if he wanted to see one of those things again. Turning to the others he said.
"I caught one of those things before you all arrived. I don't think I want to see any of them again for a while. I would trade this one for an empty Pokeball to replace the one I used in capturing it."

Hatui watched as the final Morelull dove away. There was no sense in attacking a fleeing foe when it was clear who the victor was. Baraz had seemed to think otherwise and maybe seemed to have different viewpoints on raising pokemon as well, but Hatui wouldn't say anything as it was not his place. Examining the unconscious little Pokemon, and hearing Baraz's offer for an exchange, Hatui stepped forward. "I'll take the little guy. Here, have one of my balls." Hatui handed him one of his empty basic balls in a fair exchange. "I feel it's good for me to have a backup pokemon, especially for situations just like this where Moai is more detrimental to the battle than helpful. I will raise it with reverence."
He turned back to the rest of the group and noticed that maybe they could use some more... healing perhaps was the proper word? Hatui was fairly familiar with the herbs and medicines his people used and how to forage for them, but not necessarily how to use them. Lady Zee, the clear medic of the group, could perhaps aid him in some regards? "Lady Zee, perhaps if we can combine our knowledge we can find some herbal remedies you could apply to or save for the group? I am familiar with finding herbs but not their application. I'm not sure what this forest has to offer, but hopefully there are parallels I can draw from?" With that he got down to nature to commune with it and search the area. It was quite strange and foreign, but he tried his best to identify and find medicinal plants and mushrooms.

Hatui and Zee rooted around for a while, trying to make some sense of the strange and magical plants of the area. Neither her nor Hatui seemed to come up with anything that could be of use, but she gave him a smile anyway. "Next time we'll find something," she said, "when I can use any reasonable amount of my prior knowledge. All of this looks alien to me," she admitted.
With that finished, she turned to the strange, waxy-looking rock in the center of the clearing. Zee had never liked the feeling of wax, going far out of her way to avoid sealing her own envelopes when possible, and she walked up to it tentatively, as if it could leap out and touch her with its too-smooth sliminess. "Maybe this has something to do with the conundrum we're in? Of course, I know nothing about any magic like this. Hatui, Mezzo... maybe you two will have more luck?"
Hanging back to give them more room, Zee looked over at her Ducklett, who didn't appear to be too injured from the fight. Zee was relieved by this, given that Lillette had taken pretty significant damage in their former bout of combat. She was also watching to make sure that the little bird wasn't too spooked by Baraz's words, but her feathered friend seemed blissfully unaware. She double-checked to make sure the little mouse in her arms was also still content. Maybe it could be of some use to them in combat, but it hadn't seemed keen to go against the mushrooms, so Zee had to assume it was satisfied to stay safely at a height above where they could feasibly have attacked it. As far as Zee was concerned, that was fine, and she gave it a reassuring squeeze as she let the others take a look at the stone.

Recognizing the magical stone right away, Mezzo crouched down to pick it up. "It's a moon stone. Some say that they can be used to evolve pokemon, but obviously that hasn't been tested outside of The Wilds. They are quite rare, I'm sure that bartender will pay us for it," He picks up the rock and pockets it. "Of course, to do that, we will have to get out of here." Looking around, there was no obvious choice. Really, if this place teleported them to an unknown clearing with each tunnel, it didn't matter which way they went. They would just have to try them all until they reached the pillar. "Hatui, could you use your spear to scratch a marking somewhere in each clearing? That way we will know if we have already been somewhere before." Hopefully these tunnels didn't loop back, and they all in fact went forward, but better safe than sorry.
