[OOC: I'm coming in now to warn you, and apologize, that my rate of response will likely slow down for a few days. I have a fair amount of homework, due next Tuesday, that I need to focus on for now.]

[OOC: Now might be a good time, then, for me to pose to you an idea that I've been toying with. If this is to continue to be a game with only myself as a player, perhaps it could be made into a gestalt game. Number of classes are doubled, and number of features is doubled. That way I could test out more aspects of the game you're most interested in trying out.]

[OOC: If you mean giving you double the levels, sure. I've already collected a lot of useful info, and I'd like to collect more.
I'll also try to post more tomorrow.]

[OOC: Not exactly. I meant giving twice as much per level. Doubling the level would offer stat points, extra HP, and skill points beyond what is necessary for this stage of the game, as it is still somewhat near its beginning. Doubling the allowed classes and doubling the feats per level will allow for a wider range of playtesting while keeping Wally still somewhat near the power level he should be for this part of the game. He'll be a little stronger than he should be, yes, but not as strong as he would be if we just flat-out doubled his Level. We want to playtest the classes, right? That would be easier to do with a lower-level character with lots of classes than compared to a high-level character who has unlocked a great deal in a couple of classes but has otherwise not touched the other classes. We'd also be able to phase out Sam soon if we did it this way.]

Sam shifts southeast and uses Extrasensory on Roughneck Chrome! Roughneck Whacker continues to flee out the door! Roughtneck Scalp is paralyzed! He can't move! Roughneck Chrome shifts a bit northwest and punches Sam! drive.google.com/file/d/1MdOMjpkJINx7TeOuB7igLh3TPAWM8dYE/view?usp=sharing[ OOC: I think we can do that, yes. We can easily alter the character sheet to give a character twice as many features per-level. Doubling the amount of classes allowed would be a harder edit; doable but it would take time. Of course, that only would become a problem once a character has taken up all four normally available slots. As for Sam, I might phase him out, but one of the things I wanted to do was test the Psychic. Based on how Sam is performing vs how Crystal is performing, my take on this is the Psychic is still way too overpowered, but more on that later.]

Now Tynamo uses Thunder Wave on Chrome.
[OOC: I'd take Psychic among whatever else I took in order to help phase out Sam. Wally has, after all, already asked Sam to try and teach him how to do what he does, lol.]

[OOC: Sorry there was no gameplay today, but I can respond about the Psychic: The class is currently so overpowered I'm tempted to throw it out altogether. Note that I said "tempted"; I'd still let you be one, but first I'd like to nerf it, and that would take...at least a bit of time.
Yes; this campaign exists to test revisions. Yes; that means classes should be explored and tested in-depth, most times. The problem is that based on this encounter, the Psychic even at low levels is far more destructive than is sensible. I'm not giving exact figures, but Crystal is a much higher-level trainer, with the Martial Artist class, and she still is doing far less damage.
I did do some beefing ahead of time, but mostly I just undid the absurd revision in the official rules that allowed a Psychic to rely on only one stat. It retains other issues: •It uses the entire stat for attack, whereas others just their modifiers. •It's got early access to powerful attacks, such as Extrasensory. Even without the whole Wisdom stat (at least it isn't Constitution anymore) I'm pretty sure that move is more powerful than any attack the Martial Artist can learn. You might have noticed Sam has never used his bow, since learning it. •No usage limits. The depletion of HP is some limit, but even without the core rulebook's version's ability to buff Comstitution almost exclusively, it's not enough of one.
I would want to do some more methodical tests behind the scenes. Luckily, this fight is almost over, and since the gym battle is likely next (unless you want to do something else), we won't need to worry about human combat for a while. So at that point (provided my free time allows) I can juggle handling the battles and methodically retooling the Psychic.]

[OOC: Out of game, I'll see what I can to do make the sheet accommodate extra classes and feats. In game, I'll finish this encounter, check for Leftovers one more time when it's done, and then pass time by looking for wild Pokémon until you've finished retooling Psychic.]

Sam and Wally both gain a level!
Crystal: Well, thank you for coming to my aid here! I tend to help children a lot, and it's nice to see them returning the favor!

Wally scurries over to pick up Tynamo and put it back into his coat pocket.
Wally: Good job, Tynamo. You're welcome, Crystal. Though now I feel like we need to learn about these ruffians and find out where they come from and if there will be any retaliation. But first - hey, tapper, are there any Leftovers yet?
[OOC: Edits to the first tab of the sheet are underway. I will make Psychic one of the classes that Wally takes, but only when you're done making alterations to it.]

Tapper: Y'know, I think I actually will have some ready by the end of the evening. And Crystal, for your help fighting off those roughnecks, you can have some drinks on the house!
Crystal: Hmm; I don't usually drink much. Super-serious Capture Specialist and zoology intern and all that. But it's rude to refuse a gift!

Wally: Crystal, if you're staying here, I trust you'll do what you can to find out about these bald bullies. I know you're more than capable. Sam and I will be right back.
Wally leaves to head for the police station to find out what happened when The Pooper walked himself in and tried to claim the fictional reward.

Sherrif: Well hello, Sam and Wally! Stayin' outta trouble, I hope? What's that? Why yes; a man did turn himself in for poo-related vandalism reported earlier today. He didn't seem to think of himself as a criminal, though, more as some antiheroic informant. Seems he's real confused about somethin'! drive.google.com/file/d/1SHo4NXWBJQS_wdK-IATUUf5BQIYANUOb/view?usp=sharing

Wally: Why'd he do it, sheriff? What would make a grown man do something that nasty to the town market?

Sheriff: He said it's because he thought it was funny. But now he seems to be endeared to the idea of helpin' to solve crimes, somehow. But I think he'll need to prove he can behave himself on parole, first!

Wally: Hmm. A grown man who smeared his own poo on a building, not because the inhabitant wronged him in any way, but just because he thought it would be funny. This person sounds very unstable and would definitely be a risk if allowed to help out your force. I agree with your idea of keeping tabs on this guy. Well, anyway, you are needed at the local saloon. A barfight has just ended there that was started by a gang of rough fellows with bald heads.
Wally then heads to the Market.
