Wally: Okay, I guess it'll depend on how much they give me for these items.
Wally leaves for the moment to visit the Mart and offer them the pyrite and the ruby.

As Wally approaches the Poke Mart, he notices an annoyed-looking employee out in front of it, scrubbing some rude, lewd graffiti--some of it looking to be drawn with human feces--off of the wall and window.
Cleaner: Stupid hooligans! They best hope I don't catch them!
When Wally goes inside and talks to the clerk, she says she will pay him P3300 for the ruby--the same as they were worth in Spike Weed Town--and another P400 for the pyrite.

Wally accepts those prices and hands the precious stones over in exchange for the money. With 5,800 to play with. Wally asks the clerk about Leftovers.
Wally: Sam, up until now I've been offering you half of any money we make, mainly to preserve the integrity of my character, but since you are and have been an NPC for some time, I think I'm going to just keep a hundred percent of our earnings for the time being, at least until another player character comes into the picture. I'm sure you understand.
After shopping, either with Leftovers in hand or still in possession of the money, Wally checks with the cleaner outside.
Wally: That's nasty. Who would do something like this?

Clerk: I don't have Leftovers. However, you might try looking at some restaurants. They'd maybe sell you some, even if they wouldn't give them away. None of them here in Ratoon, though; not unless you count that saloon.
[OOC: I'm fine with you not giving Sam any of the money, but let's not make breaking the fourth wall a habit. It's funny in small does.]
Cleaner: Roughnecks, I bet, but I can't prove it. Still, something about those bald heads of theirs rubs me the wrong way. I mean, not literally; they've never rubbed their heads on me, but you get the idea!

Wally takes the clerk's advice and decides to visit the saloon before leaving town. For the time being, though, he still has questions for the cleaner.
Wally: What makes you so sure it was roughnecks? Do they have some reason to have something against this store?

Cleaner: Not sure. But they're often swearing gratuitously, and making reference to a bunch of unpleasant subjects, so this garffiti reminds me of them.

Cleaner: Not sure, but they seem like the types who hang out at saloons.
[OOC: Note that I haven't completed the saloon map, so maybe go back to the museum instead, for now.]

Wally: Thanks, sir. Need a hand finishing that up? I've got a Basculin that can put out some decent water pressure.

Cleaner: Sure; that's a good idea. I'd worry about him breaking the window, but he can squirt at the wall. I think...

Wally: No need sir! Just pay it forward. And let this serve as proof that everyone should own a Pokémon or two, just for how versatile they can be. Have a great day! Okay, Sam. Well, we've had two different people give us reasons to check out the saloon. Should we head over there now or go back to the museum first? We'll do whichever one you choose.

Sam: Well, now that you've got a lot of more money, I think you should go pay Dr. Rockwell to try to clone something from your fossil. Not sure how long he will take, but it would be shorter for us if it can start sooner.

Wally heads to the museum to pay the doc 1,000 and get the process started on his fossil.

At the museum:
Doug: Thank you for the money, Wally. Of course I will be able to start trying to clone from your fossil! In the meantime, would you like to take the opportunity to view the exhibits for free?

Sam and Wally walk into the museum and read the plaques by each display. drive.google.com/file/d/1h_WvOKWHX8SxBMKtuMhU3FTY_gSEOyV8/view?usp=sharingSouthernmost display cases: Unearthing fossils is a hazardous process; many tools that penetrate the surrounding sediment can also damage the fossils. To preserve them, often it is more convenient to unearth a large clump of sediment containing fossils, and douse it with chemicals to dissolve the settlement slowly but carefully. These finds are in the process of dripping clean. Middle display case; left-to right: The fossilized skeleton of a Relicanth. These fish were once thought to have been extinct for millions of years, but recently have been rediscovered alive. They haven't changed much, so no need for cloning here! The Claw Fossil of an Anorith. This Pokemon is a primitive ancestor to many of today's arthropods. It has been revived via cloning, but does not do well in modern sea water. Old amber. This is tree sap that has hardened into a rock-like substance. This is both highly prized as jewelry and useful for its tendency to preserve the bodies of prehistoric creatures that get caught in it. Large amounts of old amber found in Tierra Fortuna prove that it had many trees in prehistoric times, thus was wetter. Northernmost display case; left to right: A sail fossil from an Amaura. These sauropod dinosaurs lived in cold areas long ago, and when cloned it is suggested that they be kept in similar temperatures. The Plume Fossil of an Archen. It is believed to be the ancestor of all bird Pokemon, and could not truly fly. Still, its gliding abilities proved useful enough to reproduce. The Skull Fossil of a Cranidos. These Pokemon are known for their hard heads, used for headbutting just about everything from prey to to trees to competing Cranidos. Large skeleton to northeast:The skeleton of Tyrantrum. This alpha predator used its powerful jaws to dominate any prey. Those that survived it likely just outran it!

Wally: This place is pretty cool. With a little rearranging, they could have room for one, maybe two more displays, too. Maybe we can help Doug find something cool to show off here.
[OOC: This looks like it took more than a little work. Thanks, it's impressive.]

Sam: Yeah; really. Considering he seems to be running it himself, or mostly, there's more here than I'd expected. I wouldn't mind digging for more fossils with him, but he's still busy trying to get DNA from yours. So what do you want to do now?
